The Dark Lord's Favorite
Chapter one: It begins here.
Artemis roamed the halls of Hogwarts in the middle of the night for some fresh air. Already in her sixth year she wanted nothing more than to leave the secure walls of this castle and enter the ACTUAL wizarding world. Her left arm had been burning for quite some time and she knew the reason. He was watching over her. She was his favorite despite what other death eaters said. She had full reason to believe that and it was because she had first hand terms with Harry potter.
Her navy blue raven claw house robes seemed to blend into the darkness as her venomous green eyes seemed to gleam watching for anyone as she rounded the corner of the corridor to see Filch's cat staring at her.
“Go away you annoying little fur covered snitch.” She hissed at the cat which immediately turned tail and took off tail between her legs, “Humph. Stupid cat.”
“You always did seem to like animals with scales or wings didn't you, Artemis?” said a voice sounding remarkable like a snake the way the voice hissed.
She nearly jumped out of her skin yet she kept her cool and turned to the shadows bowing her head, “Lord Voldemort I didn't expect to see you on school grounds.”
He stepped out of the shadows his pale skin being illuminated in the bright glow of the full moon from the window, “You wouldn't but since Dumbledore is gone…” his voice trailed off as he noticed Artemis watching him. His body had gotten healthier looking and he seemed to have gotten used to being in more light now too, “Interested in something?”
She turned a violent shade of scarlet and looked away, “Sorry master.” She was surprised when she got a chuckle in return out of him and had to glace up at him, “Sir?”
His snake-like eyes gazed into her venomous green ones and he brushed his lips up against hers before pulling her towards him and putting something in her pocket, “Be more careful. Serverus was caught; I don't need you to be. You ARE my favorite death eater and I don't need my army weakening on the inside. You know your instructions and I expect them done by the end of the month. You should see me again then.” And with that he was gone leaving her dumbfounded in the middle of the hallway.
`That was really strange.' She thought to herself as she continued to the raven claw entrance behind, give them enough trouble, peeves favorite suit of armor. She fiddled with what Voldemort had given her in her pocket and waited for peeves to show himself.
“Awww is little Arty trapped out of her bed?” peeves cackled as he came out of the armor keeping his voice down for once, “He's not around anymore is he?” he was cautious and artemis smiled at that.
`He needs to be like this all the time' she thought, “No he's not peeves now let me though before I have him turn you into a ghost snake for the rest of eternity.”
Peeves shivered then the armor sidestepped out of the way so she could enter. And as she did there stood her friend Cho Chang who had been waiting up for her.
“Hey have a nice walk?” Cho asked as she and Artemis headed to the girls dormitory, “You seemed to be out there forever I thought you might have been killed.”
“Don't be silly Cho.” Artemis stated and she slipped out of her robes and into her pajamas that were of the blackest Egyptian silk, “Nothing can kill off me…”
Then she went into her long awaited sleep not long before Cho. Not wanting to waist a minute to get to her job.
Harry and Ron were running for class like they had on their first day on their first year. Ron had slept in and Harry had to put some last touches on his homework. Now they were fifteen minutes late for class and running very short on time. They ran smack dab into hagrid on their way too.
“Well yeh can talk ter me and I can excuse yer both from class.” Hagrid said to the boys as they explained their situation, “I jus' say that yeh were helping me with some o' them skrewts!”
He chuckled at their shudder of disaprovement then continued the conversation after their nod.
Artemis was running down the hall as well this time in her normal black robes and they billowed behind her just as much as ever. She was so late she didn't notice her black diary fall from her pocket in front of Ron and Harry as she ran past. Harry noticed it and picked it up. It looked like a female version of riddle's diary but he pocketed it and nudged Ron towards their dormitory which they took off to straight away.
