The Darkness of My Heart

In pitch-black darkness I stand alone

No light can reach me here

No sight for me to see

No sound for me to hear

And though only is there a cold stone floor

For my skin to touch

I will be okay

I have not lost so much

So here I am in darkness

But I am not afraid

For it is as familiar to me

As sunlight to the day

I placed myself in shadow

And ignored her radiant light

Since the time I lost control

On that faithless night

The sins I have committed

My soul cannot forgive

Even though that long ago

She whole-heartedly did

And never has she wanted

For our ways to part

She's watched as I have wasted away

In the darkness of me heart
