The Forgotten Tavern

she walked through the forest slowly, and hesistantly. She walked faster then came upon a clearing with an old tavern, looking like it was deserted and then looked around a bit more and saw a crystal lake. She walked over to the lake then kneeled next to it. She closed her eyes and smiled. She ran her hand through the water then stood up and opened her eyes, the smile disappearing from her face. She turned around and looked at the tavern. She nodded to herself then walked towards it. For some reason she looked like she was in sort of a rush, like she was being chased by bounty hunters. She walked to the doors then opened them and walked into the tavern. She looked around the tavern, seeing no one else was in there. She sighed a bit then walked over to an empty table (of course) and sat down at the table. She smiled to herself loving the quiet in the tavern, it was sort of peaceful. The quiet sent chills up and down her spine as if something had happened to the tavern, like there was a plague of some sort. She shook off the feeling then stood up and walked over to the bar. She hopped over the bar top and grabbed herself a bottle of wine then pulled the cork off and poured some wine into a glass. She set the wine bottle down then took a sip from the wine. The wine was strangely good for a tavern that looked like it was over 400 years old. She put the wine bottle back where she found it then jumped over the bar top again and walked back to her table, clutching the wine glass in her hand, as if it were her life.

She blinked a bit, then heard the tavern doors open. She closed her eyes tightly a bit, fear sliding through her body. The person walked past her and towards the bar. She opened her eyes and got a good look at the person. From her point of view it was a man, about 6'3". The man jumped the bar as she did earlier. He grabbed the same bottle of wine and grabbed a glass, then poured the wine into the glass, then put the wine back. He hopped over the bar and looked at her. She tilted her head a bit, his face coverved by a face mask of some sort. She looked down, the fear slowly creeping away. The man sat at the same table table as her and took a sip of his drink, "Evening," he said softly. She looked up at him and stared at him for a little while, "uh....um..uh, hello," she nodded a bit then looked back down.

He took off his face mask. She looked back up at him, a smirk creeping to her face. He had the most handsome features she had ever seen. She stared at him him just a little more then grabbed her glass and took a small sip from it. The man smirked seeing that she was staring at him, "My name Demitri," he said with a soft voice. She looked at him a bit more and smiled some, "I am Crucifix." she replied, then took a quick swig from her wine. He nodded his head towards her then stood up and stretched, "very nice to meet you, lady Crucifix." he said when he stopped stretching, then he sat back down, "Please, no need for formalities, just call me Crucifix, or Cruci," she replied to him as she watched his every move, still afraid he might strike her at any moment. He chuckled softly then nodded, "Cruci it is." he smiled a bit, "and do not fear me, Cruci, I will not hurt you...I am quite infatuated by your pure beauty." He said with a tiny bit of glint in his eyes. She blushed bright pink, not expecting someone to ever say she had any sort of beauty in her. She looked down, not wanting him see the tint of pink on her face. He reached over the table and put a hand under her chin to lift up her face, so he could get a glimpse. She blinked at him then stared into his eyes, "You do not have to look down, Cruci." he said to her, as he removed his hand from her face. She smiled a bit then rested her hands ontop of the table. He placed his hands ontop of hers then smiled at her, "I think you are quite handsome, Demitri." she said blushing slightly, "and I think you are the most beautiful creature I've ever seen, Crucifix," he replied to her. She blushed again, but this time kept her head up, so he could see her face, specifically like he asked.

He smirked and kept his hands ontop of hers. Her hands were so cold, and he tried to keep them warm with his. She looked him in the eyes, then he leaned over and kissed her softly on the lips. Her eyes widened a bit, but then when she wasn't so much as surprised, she closed her eyes and kissed him back. He pulled away from the kiss then stared at her. She opened her eyes and smiled, "what was that for?" she said with the smile glued to her face, "I'm sorry, I just...really wanted to kiss you," he replied to her. She smiled then leaned back in her chair, a happy feeling now shooting through her body. He looked down at the table, "there is no need to be sorry, Demitri, you had the sudden urge, I know what it is like," she said to him as he looked down. She clutched his hands tightly now, trying to make him feel better. He looked up at her and smiled, then leaned in and kissed her on the lips again. She smiled then kissed him back, closing her eyes. He pulled back from the kiss again then smiled, "why do we intend on kissing each other?" he asked in a simple tone, "I don't know, but you have such a great kiss," she replied, laughing a bit. She held onto his hand and looked him into the eyes, "Will you go out with me...outside for a walk?" she asked him with a smile. He smiled then nodded. They both stood up and fixed their trench coat then walked out the door.
