Chapter 3: Unsuspected Tragedy

"Huh!? What the--!! WHERE IS EVERYBODY!!?" Genki exclaimed as the group looked around themselves shocked.

"We weren't that late were we?" Mimi blinked looking rather confused.

"All the cars are gone, there is no one anywhere...this doesn't make since, according to my watch we're just one minuet

late...The teachers are strict but not THAT strict!"

Keith glanced over at Ryan nodding in agreement. "Something strange is going on here...but right now, we have to find away to

get back to school, it's to long to walk. Not to mention the wild monsters that will get at us."

Genki Grinned cheerfully. "HAHAHA!! You don't have to worry about travel with me hear!!"

"You got us a ride...?" Mimi asked curiosity.

"I don't see any...." Ryan frowned looking around himself but spotted nothing that they could ride in.

"Not yet you don't." Genki smiled as he took his capsule case out a picked out one of the numbered capsules, pressing down

on the top button he tossed it to the ground and an Air Car appeared in it's place.

"Wow." Mimi smiled widely.

"You can fit anything in those things, huh?" Ryan grinned looking pretty amazed.

Genki beamed proudly. "Ah! Well, yeah you can fit anything inside...except a living object that is of course!"

"...Get over yourself." Keith scowled. "The only important thing is...that YOU don't drive us."

Even though it was kind of mean, Mimi and Ryan could not help but laugh, considering how Genki drove.

The hyper teen growled meanly as Keith got into the drivers seat of his air car. "My air-board is not good enough for you to

ride, but my car is..." he mumbled under his breath.

"Chicken Wuss, Puberty boy, Tinker-bell, hurry up and get in the back or else I'm just going to drive off and leave you three

hear."

"...The back is not large enough for all three of us..." Ryan frowned as he observed.

"Yeah so?" Keith asked coolly.

"Why can't one of us sit up front?" Mimi questioned.

"Setting next to me is an honour none of you deserve."

The trio groaned at Keith's egotistic reply as they all together rolled threw eyes.

"Actually, it's you smell we don't deserve, Keith. Come on, Mimi you can sit on my lap." Genki grinned.

Mimi blushed and lowered her eyes to her feet. "Um...err...ah...thanks....I...guess...."

Ryan rolled his eyes. "Genki, it will be a little cramped but there is enough room so she does not have to sit on yo---"

Before Ryan could continue he felt Genki's hand press tightly up against his mouth, and the hyper boy whisper sternly in his ear

"Shut up will ya?"

Mimi who had seen the hole ongoing began to laugh nervously while turning a bright pink in the face.

The car ride went rather smoothly. Except for one case where a few clumsy bandits tried to steal the car, but they were easily

taken care off, with one simple fire ball from Keith. They mostly sat in silence still thinking about the events that happened that

day. Mimi was the most out of it, and hardly talked but was forced to laugh a few times at the jokes Genki kept on making to

cheer her up. This was one of the few things Ryan liked about the hyper boy, he always tried to cheer people up when they

were sad.

"Are we going to be back at school soon?" Ryan asked looking out the window at the dark sky. He missed the faces of Mara

and Parfait so much. He could not wait to see them again after such a terrible day.

"We should be back there in around 20 minuets or so." Keith answered simply and turned his attention back to the road.

Ryan turned his gaze back at the sky, letting thoughts fill his head. He had seen to people he knew dead in only two days, it

was so strange. Both of them had been 5th rank, did that mean anything? Were there deaths connected?

"Don't....trust....*them*...."

Ryan could almost see Kathy's tear-streaked face as she squeak out her last words. Who was *They?* Could it have been the

same people who had killed the other 5th rank student? And why did Kathy seem so sorry for what she had done? She sure as

hell did not seem to be sorry when she was attacking them, infact she did not even sound like Kathy. She enjoyed what she

was doing so why the sudden change? Could it have been the knowledge of her own death that made he cry. Was he tears

nothing more then self-pity?

And who was that beautiful girl who appeared out of the goddess statue, and what did she mean by 'The protector of the light?'

And his sword, what did she mean when she said 'the sword of darkness?' could that explain the purple light it let off before

when they were in the training centre? Ahhh....he was thinking to much, his head was begging to ach.

He turned away from the window and opened Parfait's locket, to gaze into the comforting eyes of the blond haired woman.

When he was an elven year old child, he could not remember any years past that, he would have terrifying nightmares and nothing could stop him from shaking in fight but whenever he

looked at the picture he felt at peace and could relax and let most of his troubles go.

"Oh dear god......"

Keith's horrified whisper brought the trio in the back out of there thoughts and when they looked forward to see what Keith

had saw they all froze in terror.

"What!...What happened!!" Mimi screamed frantically, her eyes wide and beginning to waver with tears.

"What the hell!! Who....!? NO!!" Genki swore ramming his fist into the seat.

"It's burning....everything is burning!!" Ryan gasped the orange glow of the burning school before him dancing in his eyes.

"PARFAIT!! MARA!!" he screamed suddenly leaping out of the car and running towards the school as fast as he could.

"Ryan wait!" Genki called taking out his air board and speeding after him, while Mimi just took off flying.

"....Damn whoever done this...." Keith muttered before running towards the lotus flower of flames.

"I'M SCARED!!" Parfait screamed tears of fear falling from her face.

"I know...I'm scared too! Come on, we need to get out of here." Mara whispered to the child in a hush tone. "Come on, fallow

me, stay close to the ground and be quite."

The two girls stayed as close as the could to the ground and away from the thick black smoke. All around them were the

sounds of screaming students and staff members. They were on the second floor, if only they could get to the elevator they

could get down stairs and to the exit.

'Rya, I wish you were hear...' Mara thought sadly as she continued to crawl on the floor.

"Mara....Do you think Ryan's ok?" Parfait asked as if she had read Mara's mind.

The cat-girl forced a smile on her face as she looked back at the child. "Of course he is Parfait! He's much safer then us

anyway. Believe in him Parfait."

"Ok..."

"The smoke is getting thicker, grab my tail so you don't get separated from me."

"Ok Mara."

The girls continued crawling across the floor until they turned the bend and Mara's face brightened.

"The elevator!"

"YEAHH!!"

They began to crawl faster to reach the elevator however as soon as they were only a few feet from it a figure teleported in

front of them.

Mara's eyes slowly traveled up ward and widened in fear as she saw the figures face and....

"ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"What was that!?" Genki exclaimed as a screamed echoed threw the burning school.

"...It sounded like Mara..." Mimi noticed.

This was enough to grab both Keith's and Ryan's attention.

"Alright, guys, we have to plan this out so, Genki and Mimi, take the bottom floor. Search for any injured, any of the great L's

or the head master. If you find who was responsible then, kick their asses." Keith ordered.

The human and fairy-half nodded and ran off beginning their search of the first floor.

"Come on, Ryan. Mara's scream came from up stairs!"

Ryan nodded and took after Keith as they ran into the elevator. His only thoughts were 'Please, god, please, let Parfait and

Mara be alright."

"I don't see anyone around hear! It's like they all disappeared!" Mimi exclaimed as they walked threw the smoky and burning

hallways.

"Yeah, well lets keep looking!!" Genki began to run ahead when...

"WATCH IT!!"

Genki froze and watched as something flew over his head a struck something behind him. He turned and saw one of the

monsters from the training centre fall to the floor whimpering to pain as a dagger embedded it's self into it's right lung.

"Genki, you ok!?" Mimi asked concerned running over to her friend.

"I'm fine, but...who saved me?"

They looked over to their right and from out of the smoke they saw two figures approaching them. It was not until they got

close that they could make out who they were. The twins Arisu and Nagisa, both burnt and bleeding from many cuts all over their bodies.

"All the monsters from the training centre have escaped, and they are blood thirsty. But they are the least of our problems now."

Arisu spoke quickly as she walked over to them.

"Were is Lord Keith!?" Nagisa demanded.

"Yes, is Master Keith safe? Did you run into anything suspicious while at Anju?"

"....Keith is upstairs right now with Ryan." Mimi answered.

"And if your asking about Anju, you just asked a mouthful."

"Forget the details!" Arisu hissed. "Just tell me, did you see anyone of 5th rank there?"

Mimi and Genki gaped and her in surprise.

"...Yeah, Kathy Fernandez...she was there and leading the black mages, she tried to kill us...but....Keith killed her....and...."

"Shit! You two, Ryan and Lord Keith may be in danger if you passed that exam!"

"Huh?"

"What do you mean Nagisa...?" Mimi blinked in confusion.

"Everyone...everyone who is 5th rank has been taken over by some sort of dark force! They are destroying everything!! Only

four students and the 'Great L's not including you guys came back from the mission...the rest! The rest must have been killed on the

way back here because they did not make 5th rank. Something evil is going on here...many of the students were killed, but we

managed to get most to safety." Arisu explained.

Genki and Mimi gasped in horror.

"Oh...!! I...I...I don't believe it!!" The fairy-half whimpered falling to her knees. "So many....so many dead...They weren't nice

to me...but....they did not deserve to die..."

"Believe it alright. We have to find out who is behind this. You can stay hear and cry all you want but we are going to fine Lord

Keith and find out who is at the bottom of this." Nagisa and Arisu turned and began walking away.

"Mimi...." Genki knelt down beside her.

"...Let's fallow them. I want to find out who did this too."

"Yeah...me too."

As the elevator door opened the first image that entered his mind was that of the beaten, battered and slightly burned body of

Mara trail laying limply on the floor. Her dark blue school uniform stained with drops of her own blood.

"Mara!!" The two boys shouted running over to her.

"Whoever done this will pay!!" Keith cursed clenching his hands so hard his knuckles were turning white.

"....Unnnn....Rya...?..." Mara croaked, opening her eyes slowly.

"Mara." Ryan put his hands on her shoulders to help he sit up. "What happened? Who done this two you? Were is Parfait?"

Mara's eyes filled with tears and she fell into his arms sobbing.

"Rya, I'm so sorry! I tried to get Parfait to safety but just as we got near the elevator this demon man came and he stopped us.

He took Parfait, I tried to stop him but...I...I couldn't. I was just not strong enough..."

The cat-girl broke down into heavy sobs while Ryan just sat their holding her close in shock.

'Parfait....no...she's not gone....why...why did this demon....why did he take her....is it because Parfait had demon blood inside

of her....? I need to save her!'

"Master Keith!!"

"Lord Keith!!"

Arisu and Nagisa ran down the hallway and was drooping over Keith's arms in a matter of moments.

"Ryan! Mara!" Mimi exclaimed as she appeared beside them. "Mara!! You ok!? Let me heal you."

Mimi cast a healing spell on Mara, fixing her wounds and injuries in a matter of moments.

"Thanks Mimi." Mara smiled sadly.

"Hey!! Ryan, Keith you won't believe this!!" Genki shouted as he ran up to them. "Everyone who was 5th has become evil!"

"What!?" Keith and Ryan exclaimed together.

"It's true Master Keith. It's insane around hear, we have to get out of here before we loose our lives but first we must find out is behind this whole thing."

Arisu explained.

"Yeah Lord Keith, we need to find out who is the bastard who has done this!!"

"I agree full heartily." Keith spoke coldly, his eyes full of dark rage.

"I have to get Parfait back no matter what! Come on, we can't wait a second longer!"

Without waiting for anyone's reply Ryan ran towards the elevator, his heart pounding in his chest.

"Rya! Wait, you can't go alone!" Mara protested running on all fours after him.

Keith clenched his fist angrily, as he watched the elevator door close and watched as the see threw tube led the two up to the

office of Master Jabora himself, in which they were all sure the one behind this whole massacure was hideing.

"Mara...why is it she is always by his side..." Keith gave the rest of the group a hard stare before speaking. "Come on, they

aren't the only one's who will have fun pounding the crap out of the mother fucker bastard of a demon."

"...Wha...wha...what is it you want with me!!" Parfait whimpered backing away from the tall demon in fright. "W...w...who are

you!? Please don't hurt me!!"

"Don't be so scared child. I have no desire to harm you." A deep voice said. "My name is Taromecika."

"M...m...my...n...name is Par....par..."

"Parfait."

"How do you know my name?"

"I know a lot about you child, more so then you know yourself."

"YOU!! STAY AWAY FROM HER!!" Ryan screamed as the elevator door opened and he ran into the room with Mara

fallowing.

"RYAN!!" Parfait screamed and tried to run to him, but was frozen in place when Taromecika foot pressed down on her tail.

The little girl whimpered falling to the floor, with tears of pain in her eyes.

"PARFAIT!!"

Taromecika stared at him for a moment unmoving then slowly a smirk spread across his face. "Hello, Ryan. Hear to save your little sister? Oh, how big brotherly of you, little half-blood."

"You better not harm her or else!"

"Or else what?"

Ryan growled and removed his sword from his side, pointing the blade towards Taromecika.

The demon god gasped in surprised. "The sphere of light? how did you get that!? ANWSER ME BOY!!!!"

"Ryan, what is he talking about?" Mara asked, her body trembling.

"I don't know Mara, all I know is that we need to get Parfait away from that bastard."

"You want her, take her. I'll only get her back when I defeat you." Taromecika sent a kick to Parfait's side, sending her flying

into Mara's arms.

"Parfait!! Are you ok!?"

"Y...Yeah...Big bro....I'm alright..."

"Mara, look after Parfait! While I pay back this fucker for what he's done."

"RYAN!!" The two girls protested as Ryan rushed into the battle.

The elevator came back down, but before the doors could even open and blast of fire smashed into the machine causing it to

explode.

"What the--!" Keith and the rest of the group turned around and gasped. Behind them stood a human man, around the age of

twenty-five. He had long blond hair, blue eyes and girly like hands and face. However to his cute and innocent looking face laid

a hint of madness.

"Merro! Merro!" The teen laughed insanely at the fire in front of him.

"Merro? What does that mean?" Mimi asked blinking in confusion.

"I don't know, he probably made the word up." Genki frowned.

" The word 'Merro' comes from the same language as the words on my cape 'Sora Ma'harta.' " Keith told the group.

"So what does 'Merro' mean, Lord Keith?"

"It means, 'Burn.' "

"Great! Now we have a pyromaniac on our hands!" Arisu cursed, throwing her hands up in the air.

"Who are you!?" Genki demanded.

"My name is Lounaru, but it's no use of you knowing since you'll be dead in a matter of moments anyway!"

The group screamed as blasts of fire magic hurdled towards them.

"Merro!! Merro!! MAWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! DIE!! DIE!!!!! HAHAHA HAHAHAHAHA!!!! MERRO!!!!" Lounaru

laughed in insane delight, as the walls began to burn, and the screams filled his ears.

"This guy!! He's INSANE!!!" Genki exclaimed, helping Mimi up.

"But...he looks so familiar...Just who is he!?"

"MERRO!!!"

The human and fairy-half had barely enough time to doge the blast of fire magic that hurled towards them.

"Master Keith! Do you think this is the one responsible for what is going on here?" Arisu asked jumping out of the way of the

fire.

"No! He's to insane to be able to lead anyone! There must be someone else! And I have a feeling that Ryan's battling him right

now."

"I've had enough of this!!" Nagisa exclaimed, jumping to her feet. "Come on Arisu, let's prepare for our ultimate attack!"

"Agreed!"

The two twins connected hands and began to power up. Around them magic was forming in shimmering blue lights.

"TWIN WATER CYCLONE!!"

Two huge cyclones of water blasted forth from the twins, waves of water hit the floor, putting out the fire as it came into contact

with it. All the fire was out by the time the two cyclones disappeared and the two twins bent over tiered.

"AHAHAHAHAHA!!! YOU ACTUALLY THOUGHT THAT COULD BEAT ME!? MAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! YOU WEAK

LITTLE FOOLS!! MERRO!!!!!!" Lounaru sent a wave of fire hurling towards the two weakened twins, who screamed,

covering their faces in fear.

"I can't watch!!" Mimi whimpered putting her hands to her face.

"No!! Get out of the way!!" Genki screamed to the twins but knew it was useless. They would never escape the attack before

it stuck. Perhaps if they were not so weakened from their attack Arisu and Nagisa would have been able to survive the blast

but not in this state. He knew, and he knew they knew it to. The twins were going to die.

The pressure of knowing he was about to see someone he knew well die finally became to much for Genki to bare and her turned his head

away, waiting to hear the screams. He did hear a scream, but it was not from one of the twins. Slowly Mimi and Genki looked

to see what had happened and gasped.

Keith was standing in front of the two twins, his clothes burned, and smoking.

"MASTER KEITH!!"

"LORD KEITH!!"

Keith slowly raised his head upward, and instead of the pained expression they all were expecting to see, they saw a smirk, and

then to surprise them even more Keith began to laugh.

"Your laughing...? Why is that? Can't you see I'm going to kill you?" Lounaru forced his voice to remain calm, but one could

hear thick rage dripping threw.

"Kill me? Really, well we'll just see how you do when it's Fire VS Fire!! YAHHHH!!!" Keith sent a huge fire ball flying towards

Lounaru, whose eyes widened in surprise. But the shocked look quickly faded as a devilish smirk slid over his features and he

fired his own attack.

"OH WOW!! I'M SO EXCITED!!! FINALLY, SOMEONE WHO MAY BE WORTHY OF CHALLENGING ME!!

THIS IS SO MUCH FUN!!!"

Keith grinned. "Let's see just see if you still find this fun when you end up on the wrong end of the attack."

The rest of the group stood around watching in amazement as the two huge fire balls pressed against each other, both trying to

establish strength over the other. If the fire ball on the left gave in first then Lounaru would be finished, but if the one on the right

was beaten then Keith.....

"Come on Lord Keith!! You can do it!!" Nagisa encouraged as Keith pushed more and more of his power and strength into his

attack.

"We believe in you Master Keith!!"

"Don't give up! Your all most winning!" Mimi shouted to some surprised. Genki stared at her for a moment then back at Keith,

who looked like he was about to pass out.

"YOU CAN WIN!!! KEEP IT UP!!! IN ALL THE TIME I KNOWN YOU, YOU WERE NEVER DEFEATED, SO DON'T START GETTING BEATEN NOW!!!"

"ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Keith roared as he pushed the last ounce of his power into the attack.

The group watched holding their breaths as they watched whose attack would come out on top.

The one on the left slipped first and the force of the two fire balls came crashing down on Alucard whose face had twisted in

terror as his screams echoed off the school walls.

The group was forced to cover there faces from the smoke and explosion of the blast, and when the dust cleared they could

see Keith on his knees panting tiredly.

"LORD!!"

"MASTER!!"

Arisu and Nagisa exclaimed, tears of fear began to well up in their eyes as they drop on their knees at their friends side.

"I'm alright, I just used up a lot of my power. That's all." Keith reassured getting to his feet, trying to hide the fact that he felt like

falling over.

"That was amazing, you actually beat him!" Mimi smiled widely, causing Genki to look at Keith with jealously.

The boy grinned, running his hand threw his bangs. "Thanks, Tinker Bell, but taking out guys like him, is a piece of cake for

someone as powerful as me."

"...Show off...." Genki pouted as Mimi stared at Keith with admiration for his strength. "...I'm just as strong...heck...maybe even

stronger..."

"Ahahahahaha....!!" A weak laugh startled them and they turned towards the burnt and bruised body of Lounaru, who slowly

pulled himself to his feet. "You did not kill me! Not yet! But how....how...did you beat my fire ball....? I'm the strongest fire

magic user in the world!! HOW IS IT!!! HOW DID YOU BEAT ME!!?!?!?!?!?!?"

Keith began to chuckle, his laugh mocking and cold, filling the pyromaniac with even more rage then before.

"TELL ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Sure, you have more power in the element of fire then me, but you are forgetting something really important."

"FORGETTING!?!? WHAT!?! WHAT COULD I BE FORGETTING!!?!?!?!?!?"

"Power is nothing without control."

"Control!? Control!?!? I'll show you CONTROL!!!!! MERRO!!!!!!"

"Lounaru! Stop it! Return back to base now!"

A familiar female voice echoed around them, but the group failed to recognize just whom the voice belonged to.

Lounaru seemed to hesitate for a moment, then turned to the group with a growl.

"You won for now, but I'LL BE BACK!!!!" Just as he mysteriously appeared out of no where, he disappeared right before

there eyes much the same way.

"I hope that's the last we see of that guy." Mimi frowned.

"No kidding." Genki agreed standing close to her, still shocked that the boy could survive being hit by two huge fire balls.

"Somehow, I don't think that will be the last we see of him." Keith said smoothly, wiping some sweat away from his forehead.

"But you can be sure next time, he will not get away."

Up stairs, Ryan was not faring to well. Infact, fighting against the demon god was much like a woodpecker pecking away at a

truck. None of his attacks even did the slightest bit of damage. Right now, all Ryan could do was try and keep from blacking

out from the pain.

"Is this the best you can do!? Come on boy!! Toughen up!! Are you a sissy man or something!?" Taromecika exclaimed

sending a mighty punch to Ryan's stomach. The boy fell to the floor, coughing up a large puddle of blood.

"RYAN!!!" Mara screamed threw horrified tears as she held the sobbing and screaming Parfait close.

"Weak...I can't believe you have the blood of a demon in your veins! Your pathetic!" Taromecika wrinkled his nose in disgust.

Ryan felt something furry wrap around his neck, and found that he was being lifted into the air by the demon-god's tail. The

demon seemed to study him for a moment, then sent mighty punch after mighty punch to his gut.

Ryan had never felt so much pain in his hole life, he felt like he was going to die. All the sounds in the room was distorted, but

he could hear loud sobs and screams.

"M....m...Mara....fo....for...get....a...about....me....g....get ...Par...fait...o...out...of...he...here." Ryan coughed out, choking on the

blood that came forth from his mouth from every mighty blow, knowing that these words just may be his last. With another

blow Ryan could feel himself become limp, no longer enough strength to keep his head lifted up, or his eyes even open.

"RYA!!!!" Mara screamed, tears falling uncontrollably down her dark cheeks as she watched the demon god drop the beaten

boy to the floor, who laid there in a heap like a discarded rag doll.

"NO!!! RYAN!!!" Parfait squealed wiggling out of Mara's hold and rushing towards her fallen brother.

"Parfait!! No come back!!" Mara protested, scrambling to her feet to try and pull the child back. She missed grabbing the little

blue uniform by a few inches and before she knew it Parfait was at her brothers side weeping. The cat glanced up a the huge

demon god, and her eyes filled with horror as she saw Taromecika preparing an attack of some sort.

"PARFAIT!!! WATCH IT!!!" Mara screamed a warning and began to run towards the little girl, but she felt herself being

blasted backwards by a huge gust of magical wind.

"Now little one, shall we go?" Taromecika grinned down at the terrified child who began to crawl backward, trying in a

desperate attempt to get away.

"Uhhnnn." Ryan moaned as he pushed himself upward, catching everyone's surprise. "I wont let you take Parfait."

"Brother..."

"Your stronger then I thought boy, but you can't stop me."

"Argh!!"

Ryan and Mara turned towards Parfait as she screamed and saw that she had been encased in a orb of red energy and was

floating towards Taromecika as she screamed and pounded on the walls of her cage.

"No!! Parfait!!" Ryan cried putting his hand out to stop the orb, but it was a pointless action as the energy from the orb sent a

magical blast at him as his hand approached it, sending him reeling backward into the wall. Her coughed up more blood and fell

to the floor.

"This will not be the last you see of me. Next time we meet I hope you will be stronger, and since I'm such a nice guy I'll take

this girl, so you'll have a reason to become stronger." With those words the demon god disappeared, leaving both Mara and

Ryan alone, as they laid on the floor in pain.

"No....Parfait..." Were Ryan's last words before he blacked out.

--Dream---

Ryan's dream eye appeared threw the drifting snow storm. The area was a field of snow and blizzard, yet he did not feel cold at

all.

"Am I dead?" He mumbled weakly, still trying to make something out in the vast field of nothingness. Then appearing out of the

snow field were two figures. One tall and female, one small and male. He narrowed his eyes to see better and finally made out

the figures. He drew back shocked, the woman was the same woman from the dream he had so often before, so was the baby

she held in her hands and the little boy. He did not know how it happened but before he knew it he was right by their side. The

mother was a beautiful human woman, with flowing golden blond hair and bright blue eyes which sparkled with spirit. The baby

she held in her arms though....much to his surprise was a demon-half. The brown fur, claws, reddish hair, and closed narrow

eyes. He looked at the little boy last and drew back even more shocked. The boy was a demon-half too, yet it looked more

human then the baby. It had the same red hair and brown furry skin, small fangs,

pointed ears and a brown tail, yet it's face just looked more human.

"Those children..." Ryan gasped wide eyed.

The words were exchanged between parent and child again, yet like before they were muted from his ears. The boy frowned

crossing his arms over his chest pouting. The woman had a small smile on her face and shakeing her head, as she continued

saying something to the boy, who suddenly cheered up and began jogging forward. The woman was laughing but suddenly her

hole body went still, causing the little boy to stop running and stare up at her in confusion. The woman looked behind herself in

horror, and with a quick dash she jumped towards the boy knocking him out of the way of something. The little boy stared at

the woman in horror as her eyes widened and she fell to the snowy ground, blood gushing under her from a wound in her side.

Sweat seemed to gush from every pour, as she and the boy exchanged some words and the woman reached to her side taking

a sword in her hands and handing it to the boy.

"Take it...it was your fathers..." She spoke, her voice sounded like an angels, but yet so familiar to her ears. "You must go to

your aunts....and protect you sister along the way...it's up to you...

"Look!! He's waking up!!"

"Thank god, I thought he was a goner."

"He was badly beaten."

"Got that right sis, even worse then when Lord Keith beat him up."

"Well, I could have beat him worse...but unlike this Taromecika guy, I wasn't trying to kill him."

"Rya!! Rya!! Are you feeling ok!?"

Distorted voices echoed around him as he slowly opened his eyes and found his friends and otherwise staring down at him in

worry and concern or with no expression at all.

"Where's Parfait?" He coughed forcing himself to sit up. To this every one, even Keith's expression turned kind of sympatric.

"Taromecika took her." Keith told him, his voice not holding any of the taunting meanness it had before.

The memories of what happened filled his head bringing tears to his eyes which he desperately tried to force back.

"Hey buddy, I promise, we'll get her back somehow!!" Genki reassured.

"Yeah! That's right!" Mimi agreed.

"I agree, we'll go on a quest to get her back, that Taromecika will be sorry he ever missed with us!" Mara exclaimed.

"But what did he want with the school? I mean it makes no since for him to just come and try and destroy it for no reason."

Keith frowned in confusion.

"Bastards like that, don't always need a reason Master Keith." Arisu sighed sadly.

"Yeah...but why? Why attack our school...?" Nagisa pouted.

"The answer to that is very simple." Master Jabora's voice echoed around the room. That was when Ryan first noticed that

Master Jabora and the 'Great L's' were in the room with them.

"Yeah? Well tell us!" Keith exclaimed.

"You see..." Master Jabora sighed. "Years ago, there was the goddess Key, you must have heard of her and all the ledges

which surrounded her disappearance, right?"

The group nodded slowly, all lessoning intently to hear the rest of what Master Jabora was going to say.

"Well...when I was still young, the goddess wars was still going on, and...well...they were fighting for control of the goddess.

The side that won, they believed would gain the favour of Key, and would be given great riches. Anyway, I and four others

were summoned by the goddess. They were two sisters named Lou and Karen, a young boy named Sid and

finally...Taromecika..."

The group all gasped in surprise and horror as Master Jabora continued on with the story.

"She asked us to free her from her prison, and let her live as one of us, to let her live as one of the children that she created.

Knowing that the goddess wars would stop if she was no longer. None of us wanted her to go, but we all knew she would not

die, she would be reborn, only not a goddess. Anyway, Sid was chosen to be something called the saviour of the light, and only

he had the power to reborn the goddess. We all supported him except for Taromecika who had become enraged and swore

vengeance apon Sid for killing the goddess. He disappeared and Lou who had been in love with him took after him, hoping to

have him change his mind from vengeance. None of us ever saw Lou or Taromecika ever again. That is until today. I wonder if

Lou is still alive too? Nah...probably killed by Taromecika a long time ago."

"Yeah, but how does that explain why Taromecika wanted to come hear and kill all the students?" Mara frowned.

"Let me finish. There is away to resurrect the goddess. There are seven orbs called the goddess orbs, each of them represents

one of the fallowing seven, Innocence, hope, purity, truth, friendship, love, and kindness. The orbs was said to have chosen

warriors to protect the orbs inside of there bodies. When all seven orbs are taken out of the owners bodies, they will become

one known as the goddess stone. It can be used to resurrect the goddess Key, if the one who uses the goddess stone is good

then the goddess Key will rise and remove all war and hate from the world, and every one will live in harmony with all their

wishes coming threw. However if someone with an evil heart were to use the goddess stone then Key will rise as the goddess

Saiyoua, the mistress of destruction, wars and hate will fill the world...and it will end up destroying everything..."

"Taromecika is searching for the for the orbs so he can resurrect Key but he can't get threw his head that if he summons Key,

the one who shall be resurrected is the evil goddess Saiyoua." Lena finished.

"He thought that one of them were hidden hear or with one of our students, that is why he sent demons to attack our cars which

is why we left in such a hurry. All the students were destroyed except for the eight who made 5th rank. " Laura explained.

"I thought only four students survived from the cars...?" Arisu eyed Laura suspiciously.

"Yes, Rose Caraway, Karl Cabrera, Rex Larox, and Tommy Will. All the others 5th rank students has been taken over by

Taromecika's dark influence. You see Taromecika, being a demon, has the power the wrap peoples minds and bring out all the

darkness within. However there are four others who has attained 5th rank." Lexy smiled.

"Keith Soun, Ryan, Mimi Sakura, Genki Brief, congratulations you all made 5th rank." The four students just stared unmoving

in surprise as they each were handed a red sash.

"Wow Ryan!!" Mara exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear. "I knew you would do it!!" before he had time to react he found

himself being licked in the face.

"Congratulations!!" Both twins exclaimed throwing their arms around Keith each kissing him on different cheeks.

"Way to go Mimi." Genki smiled at Mimi who smiled back.

"You too, Genki."

"You four must find the goddess orbs before Taromecika can, bring the orbs back here and we will figure out what to do."

Master Jabora instructed.

Mimi, Genki and Ryan got silent.

"We found two of them already...in Anju..." Mimi muttered guilty shuffling her foot.

"What!?" Jabora, the 'Great L's', the twins and even Keith looked surprised.

"We found a statute of Key and this girl appeared out of it and she placed a magical orb inside of Mimi called the orb of hope

and inside of Genki the orb of innocence, for me...she gave me this golden orb and it has become one with my sword...she said

something about the saviour of the light."

Master Jabora and the 'Great L's' looked like they were about to have a heart attack.

"What!? Oh my!! I don't believe this!!" Master Jabora stuttered. "This is so unbelievable!! Mimi and Genki orb holders and

Ryan the new saviour of the light!? HAHAHA!! How ironic!!"

"Ironic?" Ryan blinked.

"Our magic school was opened for the soul purpose of training students to protect the goddess in case Taromecika were ever

to try and harm the goddess Key. " Lena explained.

"So that is why Taromecika attack also!! To stop you from training students to fight him!!" Arisu realised.

"Yes. But now, we must stop Taromecika, no matter what the cost. You must find the five remaining orbs. You Ryan, if it is

true that you are the new saviour of the light, your sword will have the ability to seek out the other orbs. It can only show you

the way to go, it cannot show you the one who carries if it has already attached it's self to a person."

"I understand. I'll fight Taromecika until the last breath is left in my body, I wont let him harm Parfait or the goddess." Ryan

swore.

"I'm coming with you to! I mean, this will be a real adventure!! I did not do anything really important since I was ten years old!!

And since I do have the orb of innocence, you can't really do without me!!" Genki grinned.

"Yes, and I'm coming too, I know I'm not that strong in battles, but my healing magic will at the very lest help you out!" Mimi

smiled.

"And I won't let you go alone, Rya!! I know I'm only 3rd rank but, hey!! I can still charm my way out of things, anyway, I wont

let you go traveling alone without me." Mara giggled giving him another wet lick on his cheek.

"I'm not about to sit back here and do nothing, and I'm not about to let Ryan be alone with Mara, anyway, I have a score to

settle with that Alucard, and Taromecika will pay for destroying my home." Keith said.

" We'll come too, Master Keith!"

"Yeah, we'll stay by your side."

"Sorry, Arisu, Nagisa, but you too stay here, alright?"

"How come!?" Both twins whimpered.

"In case Taromecika or those demons come back, they'll need help defending this place. Anyway, they still need help killing

those insane monsters who has escaped from the training centre."

"Yes, Master Keith."

"We understand lord Keith."

Ryan closed his eyes, gripping Parfaits locket in his hand, letting a lone tear trail down his face. "Parfait...I will get you back."
