Fan Fiction ❯ The Goddess Sagas ❯ Purity almost lost! ( Chapter 5 )
CHAPTER 5: PURITY ALMOST LOST
Ryan closed his eyes in concentration, finding it a little hard though, knowing that all his friends were watching him.
"Please, guide us to the orb we must fine...sword of light, show us the path!" Ryan exclaimed rising the sword into the air. At
first nothing happened, and he felt more then a little foolish, but then the sphere on the handle began to glow with a brilliant gold, then a streak of the golden colour
shot out of the sphere and made a path going to the north and curving somewhat to the left as it traveled onward.
"Wow..." Ruto gasped in awe, staring up at the golden trail in awe.
"I can't believe it worked!" Ryan smiled, putting his sword away.
"Oh cool!!" Genki exclaimed, his eyes sparkling.
Mimi clasped her hands together, as she stared at the sky with a huge smile. "It's so beautiful!"
"What!? What is? I don't see anything!" Mara pouted, looking all over the sky.
"Me neither, I think you all need glasses." Keith commented, crossing his arms over his chest.
"How can you not see it!?" Genki exclaimed, amazed.
"I think you're the ones who need glasses." Ruto said sourly to Keith.
"...No one needs glasses. I think I know why, neither Mara or Keith can see the path." Ryan spoke.
"Why is it Rya?"
"Genki and Mimi has a orb. I'm the savoir of the light, and Ruto certainly has a big connection to all of this, so it makes since
why only we can see it."
"WOW." Keith commented with big, mock-surprised eyes. "Did, Chicken-wuss actually say something intelligent? The world is
going to end."
"Keith!! Your so mean!!" Mara hissed, turning away from Keith with her arms crossed over her chest angrily.
"Well, I guess we should get on our way." Ryan said, hopeing to stop Mara from starting a big hissy-fit.
"It'll be a long walk." Ruto moaned as she spotted the distants. " I knew I shouldn't have left my horse alone in that village back
there! I swear, the people of Trisu are a bunch of thieves! Oh if I ever find out who took Leca they'll pay!!"
"There you go getting pissed about the damn horse again! It's only a stupid animal, forget about it!" Mara hissed.
"You're a fine one to talk that way about animals, KITTY-CAT!!!"
"Hey! Hey!" Ryan walked between the two girls, hopeing to stop the fight from getting any worse. "Stop fighting! We have more
important things to do!"
Mara stopped and began to sniffle. "I'm sorry Rya, don't yell at me..."
"Mara..." Ryan sighed as the sensitive display.
"Hey, you jerk! Your making Mara cry!!" Keith snapped, grabbing him by her shirt.
"HEY COME ON!!! SHUT UP!!" Genki exclaimed, but this only made him part of the fight.
Mimi and Ruto stood to the side, watching the huge nonsense fight continue.
"I...can't...take...any...more...of...this....noise!!" Ruto screamed. "EXPLOSION!!!"
The four fighting group members screamed as they were blasted into the air and smashed back into the ground each one of
them slightly burnt.
"Well...That's one way to get them to stop." Mimi laughed weakly.
"Master..." Lounaru bowed to Taromecika who sat ahead of him. "What is it you wish for me and my five warriors to do?"
"Lounaru, I want you to kill the demon-half and his followers and collect the five remaining orbs. You may use your five
followers, there are five orbs remaining, so be careful to use your followers wisely. This is a strong bunch you will be
facing. "
"Sure thing, my pleasure. But how are we suppose to find the other five orbs?"
A soft silkily laugh came from the darkness as a figure stepped out of the shadows. The laugh belonged to a tall and shapely
woman in a black dress and grey cape. She had long red hair the dropped over her slender boy, reaching down to her narrow
hips. Narrow and beautiful green eyes, and blood red lips, that had a pair of white gleaming fangs going slightly over them. She
was demon, one could easily tell by the brown fur, pointed ears, claws and tail.
"Ah, nice to see you have awoken, Tell me, what name is it you wish to go by now?"
"My name is whatever you wish, master." The woman bowed.
"Then I shall call you Hikari."
"As you please. I have the power to find the locations of the orbs...The orbs of Hope and Innocence is moving close to the orb
of purity. I can see where the orb is hidden, it is with the Fernandez family. Hope and innocence belong to two of Ryan's group
members...They are very close...."
"So...Kathy wasn't the orb holder then, I knew it, for when Keith had destroyed her the orb would have left her body. It must
have been someone else from that Spanish family." Taromecika mused. "Lounaru, send one of your warriors to find the orb and
destroy those sorceress. They may decide to attack us for kidnapping and causing the death of one of their family members.
And while your at it, see if you can find the purity orb...but if you don't we can always keep to plan B."
The car ride{using Genki's capsule car} went pretty smooth, as Ryan drove the car following the path of light up ahead.
Mara was leaned tiredly up against the window. Despite how much she ate at the school before they left she was starting to
feel hungry again. She put her hand to her stomach as it rumbled hungrily. She would ask how long before the car ride was over
but the last twelve times she asked all she got was irritated sighs. Closing her eyes she tried to get her mind off her hunger pains
by using her cat-ears and sense of smell to get lost in the scent and sounds of nature. But what she smelled was not pine tress and flowers
but the smell of wood and flesh burning, and blood. What she heard had not been birds either it was screams of pain and loud
cries.
"Oh my god." She gasped, causing everyone to look at her surprised.
"What is it?" Keith asked, his eyes filled with worry.
"I smell something burning...and I hear screams. It's sounds like some sort of battle is happening close by! It's so horrible!!"
Mara's eyes began to tear.
"A battle!?" Mimi exclaimed, her eyes going wide, as she put her hand to her mouth in horror.
"How horrible!! We need to help them!!" Genki exclaimed.
Suddenly Ruto began to scream and held onto her head, she then began to shout in voice that was not Ruto's but of the girl that
had given them the orbs in the temple.
"Taromecika!! Taromecika, is after the purity orb! He found it, fire demon...Lounaru!! Stop don't kill the holder!! STOP!!!"
"RUTO!?" Ryan gasped as the girl suddenly pasted out.
"Lounaru!?" Genki, Mimi and Keith gasped.
"Who?" Ryan asked confused.
"Lounaru, we faced him during the battle at school. He's an insane, pyromaniac. If it's true what Ruto just said then the purity
orb is right ahead, and if he gets it then Taromecika's side will be a point ahead of us." Keith explained.
"Then let's hurry!" The car speed off faster, fallowing the light above. Everyone in the car hoping they were not to late.
"STOP!!! PLEASE!!!" A small girl around the age of twelve screamed, tears falling down her face. She had short dark blue
hair that went to the end of her neck, her brown eyes red from crying. Her pale skin was a shade of gold by the fire that surrounded
her, the golden rings attached to her forest green dress and on her wrists shown brilliantly in the firelight.
Her family was dropping like files all around her, as she watched horrified, to afraid to do anything but watch.
"HAHAHAHAHA!!!" Lounaru laughed. "POOR, POOR FERNANDEZ FAMILY!!! ALL GOING TO BE WIPED OUT!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"
Beside Lounaru stood a little girl with brown hair, and brown eyes. A small grin on her face, as her white dress blew around her
in the wind.
"Let's kill the rest of them off, when the orb holder dies then the orb will appear." The girl said in a tiny and toneless voice.
The twelve year old girl looked up at them, tears of anger and rage burning in her eyes.
"Stop! Don't kill anyone else!!" She begged, walking towards them, fire burning all around her as she walked past the forms of
her dieing family members, some of them were on the ground hideing frightend, some legs were broken, stopping them from running.
"OH!? And what are YOU going to DO!?" Lounaru laughed mockingly. The girl's face tightened into a look of anger.
"Kill anyone else...and I'll kill you."
"Really? Well, NOT IF I KILL YOU FIRST!! MERRO!!!!!!!!!"
The girl's eyes widened as she saw a huge blast of fire head towards her. She knew she could not dodge it, or avoid it. She
knew she was going to die. Closing her eyes she awaited her death, letting only one small tear slid threw her closed eyelids.
"CARRIE!!!"
A voice cut threw the air, and the girl opened her eyes wide in horror as she saw a woman run in front of her, taking the blast
full force. In all seemed to happen in slow motion. The force of the blast sent the woman spinning all the way around and then
finally fall in a burnt heap. Threw the river of tears that ran down her pale cheeks, The girl shouted only one word as she fell on
her knees next to the woman...
"MOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" `she did care about me afterall....mom....'
"Oh, how SAD!! Shakespeare would be jalousies!" Lounaru laughed as he watched Carrie sob over her mothers body.
"Her death was meaningless, she died for nothing, the fool. She should of knew that we would kill you right after her anyway."
The small girl stared at a Carrie, a smirk forming on her face. " A foolish daughter for a foolish mother."
Carrie's wails broke down into angry sobs as she climbed to her feet, her eyes down caste.
"You will pay..." She said threw her sobs.
"Oh and what are you going to do, little girl? Run and cry to mommy? Oh wait! I forgot, we just KILLED your mother, didn't
we?"
"You...You..." Carrie stuttered threw her tears.
"But then again, she would not have died if she did not have to protect you. It's your fault." The little girl taunted bitterly.
"You...You..."
"Freya, I DO believe that you are right." Lounaru grinned. "But then again, we probably did that woman a favour. Having to live
with an homely little thing like that for a daughter."
"You...You..."
"She was very ugly herself, and wimp too. Imagine dieing from one little fire blast. Not to mention, threw the whole battle she
was hiding, the woman was a coward, she deserved to die."
Carrie raised her head to stare at Lounaru and Freya threw hateful and vengeful eyes that shown with bitter tears.
"YOU...YOU BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Carrie screamed throwing her head back as her body began to glow with a white
energy.
Freya and Lounaru drew back in surprise.
"What is this!?" Freya demanded in her small voice.
"SUCH....!! SUCH POWER!!!!"
"ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!" Carrie screamed at the top of her
lungs as power that was fuled by her hate and rage began to fill her body. The pain was horrible but her lust for revenge
pushed her forward. She make them pay!
'I'LL PAY THEM ALL BACK!!! I'LL KILL THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' Carrie's thoughts screamed as more and more power entered into her body, creating a
column of light appear around her.
Ryan and the others stared in horror at the huge white light in front of them. They were still a little a ways from the end of the
golden trail but the light was so large, so huge they could see it as clearly in the dusk sky as they could see their hands in front
of there face.
"....What power..." Keith gasped.
"I've never felt anything like this, in my whole life." Genki breathed, his eyes wide.
"...It feels...so horrible...such anger and hate is in this light..." Mimi could feel tears form in her eyes as she stared at the light ahead of
her.
"Ryan...what is going on?" Mara whimpered, shivering as she cuddled up in fear.
Ryan could only stare, shock and horror wide in his eyes. "Is this Taromecika's power?"
Ruto stirred and slowly sat up, looking dazed. The first thing she noticed was everyone's troubled expressions and turned to
fallow their stare. With a gasp she put her hand to her heart.
"Oh my god!"
Ryan turned to the group, his eyes like steel. "We got to hurry, there is not much time left."
"ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
'I DON'T CARE IF I DIE!!! I'LL GET MY REVENGE!!!!!!!!' Carrie's mind screamed as more power filled her body.
"I'm getting OUT OF HEAR!!" Lounaru gasped, her eyes wide with fear as he teleported away.
"Master Lounaru, what about me!?" Freya gasped in fear as she watched the only one who could have brought her to safety
disappear.
"ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU'LL PAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Carrie screamed threw burning tears of pain
and rage.
Freya stared down at the girl horrified. "NOOO! STOP!!"
"FINAL FLASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Carrie screamed at the top of her sore and burning lungs.
Ryan and the others screamed shielding their eyes from the light as it exploded forward. The force of the blow sent the car flying
backwards and onto it's roof.
"NOOO!!!" Freya whimpered as the light smashed into her, engulfing her whole body.
When the light faded Carrie was the only one left standing. Freya had disappeared, she could not find her among the bodies.
Carrie's eyes darted around to find the Fernandez family members that had not been killed by Lounaru or Freya but all she
could spot was their burned bodies. Instantly Carrie's eyes widened in horror as she realised what happened.
"Oh my god...I did this...I killed them...The rest of my family that had remained...my blast...I...What have I done?
N...NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Carrie screamed, before falling on her knees and passing out onto the blood drenched
soil.
Slowly Ryan and his group walked towards where the area where the light had faded from just a few moments ago. They all
walked in silence, not knowing what they were going to find, but they knew whatever it was, it was not going to be pretty.
Infact when they did finally reach the area they saw something worse then what they had ever thought possible. Everyone had a
different reaction to the horror they saw before them.
Mara screamed a blood curling scream, Mimi covered her eyes and began to cry, Genki let out a short frightened burst of a scream
and stared at the sean shaking. Keith stared in disgust and surprise. Ruto fell to her knees, unable to stand from how bad she
started to shake, she bit her lip, shaking her head as she tried to hold back any tears. "How horrible..."
As for Ryan all he could do was stare in a dull shock, unable to move, unable to think. All around him where the bodies of
burned men, women, and children, and soil which had been stained red from the slaughter which had just taken place.
"We were to late..." Ryan swallowed the lump in his throat. "They are all dead."
"We should have known better then to drive puberty boy's car anywhere." Keith commented rudely.
"Hey!! Come on, it's not my fault!" Genki snarled. "What were we suppose to do!? WALK!?"
"If we would have gotten hear faster, and maybe then Taromecika would not have gotten the orb!"
"YOU--!!"
"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU TWO!!!" Ruto screamed suddenly turning to the two boys. " WE ARE STANDING IN A FIELD
FILLED WITH THE DEAD OF MANY INNOCENT PEOPLE AND ALL YOU TO CAN DO IS FIGHT!?!?!?!?!?!?"
The two boys look away from each other looking guilty. Heck, Keith looking guilty, that is not something that people can see a
lot.
"Rya I'm scared!" Mara whimpered throwing her arms around him as she buried her face into his shoulder, crying softly.
Ryan continued to stare at the burnt corpses ahead of him as if in some sort of nightmarish trance, then suddenly his eyes
spotted something. Something that was not burnt black. He peered forward and gasped surprised, amidst the bodies laid a
small twelve year-old girl dressed in a forest green dress, lighter green cape that went to the middle of her back and was tied in
the centre with a dark pink bow. The waist of the dress was tied around her tiny waist tightly with a rope-belt that had golden
rings dawning that sides of it. The rings had two thins strains of pink ribbon on each of them. The rings were the same king of
the rings the girl wore on her pale wrists.
"What is it Rya?" Mara asked as she heard him gasp.
"I think someone is still alive!" he answered quickly before rushing over to the girl's side.
By the time he got the girl into his arms, all of his group had gathered around him, all asking millions of questions at once. But he
ignored them, all what really caught his attention was the fresh streams of tears the slid threw the child's closed eyes.
"She's alive, but if we don't take care of her, she won't stay like that." Ruto informed seriously.
"But how are we suppose to take care of anybody in a place like this?" Mara scowled, as she put her hands on her hips.
Genki suddenly grinned as he pulled out his capsule case. "No problem! Just count on me!"
The boy searched threw the case and pulled out a capsule, pressing the top down and throwing it onto the ground and puff of
smoke appeared and to all of their surprise an Capsule-house appeared! Capsule houses were these little dome shaped,
one-roomed houses that could be put into capsules, they were very handy in traveling but it cost thousands of gold to get one.
But then again, since Genki's sister owned the company he probably got all his capsules free.
"Wow, you were carrying around a house? That's impressive." Mimi smiled at him blushing. " You can probably carry anything
in those things, can't you? Your family must be real geniuses to be able to make things like that."
Genki blushed widely and began to laugh nervously. "Well, you know, some people just have the talent for this sort of thing..."
A pair of angry eyes watched the group as the disappeared into the capsule-house.
A small fist clenched in anger and a tiny voice hissed.
" She won't get away..."
"Look she's waking up!" Mimi's soft voice exclaimed after some tiring hours of using her healing magic on the girl. Instantly the
whole group minus Keith was at the bed side.
Carrie's soft brown eyes slowly opened and she moaned in confusion as she saw all these strange people she never saw before
in her life gazing down at her.
"Are you alright?" Genki asked concerned.
"......" Carrie blinked in confusion, her thoughts were burly she couldn't remember anything and then it hit her, like a thousand
knives in her heart. The memories of the slaughter of her family, of the death...the blood and the fire. The grief became to much
for her and she began to cry.
"Hey...Are you alright. Don't cry." Mimi comforted, as she took the child into a small hug.
"I...I killed them! I killed...I...." It became to hard for Carrie to continue.
".....You killed those people outside?" Mara asked, her eyes wide, slightly pulling away.
".....Little girl, please tell us what happened." Ruto asked, gazing at the girl sadly.
" I'll...try..." Carrie replied weakly pulling away from Mimi. "My family and I were traveling, like we always do. This time
however we were looking for my sister, she has gone missing from her school so we went in search for her. However we were
stopped by this man...I think his name was Lounaru and this...this girl...her name was Freya...she was a monster...she and the
man burned everything to the ground...my family...my mother...I got really angry...I did not know what was happening...I...I...I
suddenly attacked with so much power it was scary...The man left before I finished attacking but Freya was caught in the
attack...and so was...and so was...the few family members that were not killed by them...now...because of my foolishness...they are all
dead!!"
Carrie broke down in tears again and everyone stared at her in sad silence.
"Hey! Wait a moment, you mean that white light we saw, came from YOU!?" Keith exclaimed insensitively.
Ruto shot him a dirty look. "Keith, shut that freaking mouth of yours!"
"Shut up, flat-chest!"
"EXPLO--!!" Genki threw his hand over Ruto's mouth in order to stop her attack.
"Hey! Come on, you'll destroy my house!"
Ruto tried to calm herself down enough not to blast Keith into the sky and Keith just turned away with his arms crossed over
his chest.
" It wasn't you fault." Ryan comforted. " He would have killed them anyway, at least they died by the attack of someone who
loved them."
Carrie stared at him for a moment trying hard not to cry but burst into tears again as she threw herself into his arms sobbing.
Mara's face twisted in jealously and reached out her hand to pull the child off of her Rya when Mimi put a hand on her shoulder
and shook her head.
"She's just a child, and Ryan is only trying to comfort her...she needs it now..."
Mara frowned for a moment then smiled weakly. "Ok."
"Uh...everyone, I'm going to go look for any survivors. You can never tell, maybe someone escaped the attacks." Genki spoke up.
" Alright be careful, I'll stay hear and help heal the rest of this girl's wounds." Mimi smiled up at him.
"Ehh...alright, I really don't want to go out their alone..." Genki shivered thinking about all the dead bodies.
"I'm sorry. Uh...hey Ruto?"
"Yeah?"
"Well you help Genki in his search? It is kind of creepy out and I'm afraid...but if you don't want to..."
Ruto shook her head. "Nah, it's alright, I understand. Come on, let's go."
"But...but..." Genki protested but Ruto was already out the door. "Ah, shit."
Genki and Ruto walked around outside in silence for the most part, both taking in the horror around them.
"I'm sorry." Ruto said suddenly.
Genki looked over at her surprised. "For what?"
"You wanted Mimi to come with you because you like her right? She really did not seem to want to go out here though...I can't
blame her. I went because I did not want to make her feel guilty for making you go alone." Ruto smiled at him. "You should
think of better places to take a girl you like then threw a battlefield filled with burnt bodies. Try maybe a movie or dinner next time ok?"
Genki blushed. "Yeah, I guess. Thanks for caring about Mimi, I should have used my head more."
" Sometimes the best choices are made when someone doesn't use their heads, but not in this case. Next time, just ask her to
go look for food or something with you, ok?"
Genki smiled back. "Ok."
"Um, Genki?"
"Yeah?"
"You asked about Messiha before...Tell me how do you know of her?"
"Messiha was the owner of the goddess stone, and of the life stream, she disapeared just like goddess, and so did her memory. I don't know how I know that, but I...well, I just always knew...."
Ruto frowned. "Hmm...No, I think I understand. There is something speical about you, I can sense it, but I can't place it...but there is also something really speical and strange about Ryan..."
"Like...?"
"....It's like...I dunno how to put it in words, it's just...strange...Oh well, let's forget about it for now and look for surviores."
"Ok." Genki nodded.
They walked the rest of the ways in silence until they came to a small clearing and both stopped and gasped. A small girl was
bouncing a ball up and down as she stood surrounded by burnt bodies. She was chanting something in a rhyme but they could
not hear her clearly, or even see her face clearly for that matter.
"Excuse me...little girl?" Ruto asked, slowly approaching her.
"Ruto, be careful." Genki warned keeping his distants.
"Little girl? Come on answer me? Are you alright?" Ruto now stood in front of the child and could hear clearly what she was
saying....
"Ring around the roses
Pocket full of posses,
Ashs, ashs
we all fall down!"
"Little girl?" Ruto asked nervously, putting her hand out towards her when suddenly the child lifted it's head. Ruto screamed at
what she saw, the child's face was half burned off.
"DIE!!" The tiny voice exclaimed.
Ruto screamed in agony as a blast of heat crashed into her, sending her burnt body flying backwards.
"RUTO!!" Genki exclaimed running over to her side and gasped. Ruto had suffered major burn damage all over her body, and she was twitching painfully on the ground.
"...I got careless..." Ruto mumbled before passing out. Genki looked up to see the girl approaching him, she was inside of a
burning ball of fire.
"WHO ARE YOU!?" he demanded, taking a fighting position.
"Freya."
"Freya, the one who helped destroy that girl's family?" Genki gasped but he never got a response as heat consumed him and he fell on the soil next to Ruto.
"That was..." Freya smirked. "To easy."
Mimi frowned worriedly as she took a quick glance out the window for about the twentieth time.
"Where could they be?"
"Why you so worried Mimi?" Mara grinned. " Do you Like Genki that much?"
Mimi's face flushed red and she turned away, her eyes to the floor. "No...no, it's just that I...uh...well...I..."
"Mara, don't tease her." Ryan scolded. " It's alright Mimi, I understand, your worried, you have the right to worry about you
friends."
"Thank you, Ryan." Mimi smiled at him thankfully.
Keith glanced at Carrie who sat silently. He still could not understand how such a small and fragile looking child could summon
up such a spell.
"Hey, um...little girl...?" Ryan asked turning to Carrie who spoke softly back.
"I have a name, it's Carrie....Carrie Fernandez."
Keith, Ryan, Mimi and Mara gasped startled freezing in mid motion.
"Kathy's sister?" Mimi squeaked out.
Carrie's eyes widened. " You....know my sister?"
"We...went to the same school." Ryan answered slowly.
"Do you know where she could be? We searched all over....she is the only family I have left, I don't what I'll do if I can't find
my sister." Carrie's eyes began to water.
"Don't worry, I'm sure you'll see her again, someday." Ryan comforted, earning sharp and confused looks from the rest.
Carrie looked at him hopefully. "You think so?"
"Yeah..."
A half an hour later Carrie fell asleep and his friends approached him, all puzzled.
"Rya...you...lied?" Mara asked, shocked.
"Why, didn't you tell her...we were forced to...to....kill...Kathy...." Mimi said lowly, her body trembling as the memories in Anju
temple came back to her.
"Your too soft...longer she thinks her sister is alive more hurt she will be when she finds out she is dead. " Keith frowned.
" Did you even see her eyes?" Ryan spoke softly, turning his head to stare at the sleeping child. "The only thing keeping her alive
is the thought of finding her sister. Without that goal to drive her, she will probably...die."
" Yes...your right...funny, how lies can be such good things at times." Keith muttered before going back to his corner of the wall
to lean on.
Mimi sighed turning her head back towards the door. "I wonder...what could be taking them so long..."
Knock, Knock, Knock.
Mimi's face brightened at the sound of the knock.
"See, Mimi, you were worrying for nothing." Mara chirped.
"Yeah I guess." Mimi blushed embarrassed and ran over to the door, swinging it open.
"Ahhh!!" A short startled scream came from Mimi's lips as she threw herself away from the sudden heat that awaited her at
the door.
Mara and Mimi gasped surprised as Ryan shouted the fairy-half's name a ran to her side from where she had stumbled onto the
floor.
"Mimi!? What's wrong, what happened!?"
Mimi just stared ahead of herself, her eyes wide and her face frozen a look of fear and surprise, slowly she pointed towards the
doorway and Ryan looked and gasped.
A little girl was standing in the doorway, flames danced around her, and she looked like she was in the middle of a lotus flower
of flames.
"ACK!! That little girl....!! THAT GIRL IS ON FIRE!!!!" Mara screamed throwing her hands around Keith in terror and hiding
her face. "Don't let me see her melt or anything...please..."
Keith out an arm around Mara, holding her close to his chest. He looked rather pleased to hold the cat-girl in his arms as well
as alarmed about the burning child standing before them.
"Who are you!?" Ryan gasped, not able to tear his eyes away from the girl.
"I shall kill you all. It is my mission to stop you rebels of Taromecika, I serve under Lord Lounaru, top commander of the great
demon-god Taromecika's army. I'm one of the five great warriors, I'm Freya. I control the forces of fire...Lounaru....is my
love...and for him I will kill you!!"
Ryan and the others screamed as heat erupted from the child, causing them to shield their faces in pain from the burns they
were receiving.
Carrie stirred, opening her eyes at the sudden heat wave.
"Huh? Wha--?" Setting up she gasped, her eyes widening with fear and tears. "That monster, is still alive...!? HOW!?"
"Carrie...stay away!" Ryan warned, gritting his teeth against the pain of the heat.
Freya's eyes snapped in Carrie's direction. "YOU! YOU'RE THE BITCH WHO DID THIS" The fire child pointed to the side
of her face which was melted to her bleached white bones. "YOU WILL PAY! FIRE BALL!!!"
"No!!" Ryan exclaimed, throwing himself in front of the small yet powerful blow. Rising his sword into the way he was able to
bat it away from himself and it a wall of the house.
"Good move, demon-half, but you can't beat me...FLARE ARR---ARGH!!!"
Freya was thrown to the ground as she was smacked over the head with...a giant chcoalte cake?
Mara grinned. "Heh, heh!! A new spell I was working on! The cake attack!!"
The group, including Freya sighed, shaking their heads.
" HA!" Freya laughed climbing from out of the pile of cake. "You can't beat me using such childish attacks! HEAT BEAM!!"
Mara screamed, throwing her hands over her face as the small ray of heat headed towards her.
"MARA!!!" Keith and Ryan screamed at the same time and tried to run to her but it was to late, the attack hit her in the side
causing her to fall to her knees gripping her pained side.
"Ohh...My side...the pain..."
"BITCH!!" Keith screamed, rushing forward with his sword drawn.
The girl smirked. "Foolish..."
She let lose another explosion of heat that sent Keith crashing threw the wall and landing unmoving outside.
"Keith!!" Mara screamed as she saw him crash threw the wall.
Carrie sobbing, panicked and in tears of fear, terror and grief.
"Mimi, go get Carrie and Mara out of hear. I'll take this thing on. Get them to safety."
"Me...but I...I'm not sure if I'm strong enough to do that....and what about you?" Mimi frowned sadly.
"I'll be fine! Your a lot stronger then you give yourself credit for, Mimi. You can do it, you have to do it."
"Ok, but be careful..."
Freya watched calmly as Mimi held both Mara and Carrie close to her sides as she drug them out of the room. The fire child
turned to Ryan with a smirk.
"I'll find them and kill them anyway, after I finish off you."
"You sure seem shure of yourself." Ryan replied bitterly. "I must be honest, at first I did not think I could fight a child. I mean,
after all...your still young, you have the time to change. So I figured to myself that their was no way I could kill something with a
heart..."
Freya grinned, the fire disappearing from around her body as she calmed down. "Glad to know that at least one of your little
group has enough brains to surrender."
"I'm not finished, but then I figure that...any being that could kill a whole family has no heart!!!"
"Ahhhhh!!!" A small gasp came from Freya's lips as Ryan's sword slashed down and threw her chest. Falling into a puddle of
her blood she hit the floor with s sickening thump.
Ryan stood still, his sword still drawn and dripping with the colour of crimson. He watched the unmoving Freya and then left the
house.
"RYA!!" Mara exclaimed, rushing forward and throwing her arms around him in a happy hug when she saw him leave the
house.
"Mara...how's you side?"
"Great! Mimi healed me!" Mara grinned rubbing her side, happily. "Did not even leave me with a scar!"
"It was no trouble..." Mimi blushed modestly.
"Well, now that this is over, let's go find Ruto and Genki."
"Rya, what about Keith? Shouldn't we revive him first?" Mara asked, as Ryan laughed.
"We should, but, do we want to?"
Carrie's eyes wondered around her and then back to the mostly destroyed capsule house. Her eye-brows creased as she saw
a flickering threw one of the busted windows. She began to approach it, and then froze as she saw what it was, a huge ball of
fire.
"Everyone--!!" Carrie cried a warning but it was to late, the fire ball crashed into the rest of the remaining group causing them to
scatter as they were tossed to the ground from the blow of the attack.
Carrie looked trembling at the limp bodies of her friends that laid before her. They weren't dead, just knocked out from the
blast but still...Carrie turned her head to face Freya who approached like a fiery goddess.
"You're the only one left..." Freya smirked.
"So...you got to the other two of that group too, huh? I thought so...how...how did you survive my attack? No one...could
survive..."
Freya's smirk widened. " Maybe not your weaklings of a family, but for us followers of the powerful Taromecika and the great
Lounaru, such childish attacks can't harm us."
"It melted part of your face." Carrie reminded. " And, anyway, if your 'Great Lounaru' was so strong, why did he run like a
coward? How can you serve a man that left you behind even though he knew you were in danger? Are you such a fool!?"
Freya growled, clenching her fists together. "Lounaru is not a coward!! He didn't leave me behind...."
FLASHBACK
"I'M GETTING OUT OF HEAR!!" Lounaru exclaimed as he disappeared.
"Master Lounaru, what about me!?"
END FLASHBACK
Freya, looked up in rage at Carrie. "YOUR WRONG!! HE CARES ABOUT ME!!! DIE!!!"
Carrie had only seconds to throw herself out of the way before a huge ball of fire crashed into the place she was just standing.
"Magical Orbs of light!!" Carrie called forth, red, purple and green magical blasts struck forward, sending Freya stumbling back
with each blow.
"Grrrr...Fire arrows!!"
Carrie was able to doge the first two arrows but was hit in the arm by the last one. She cried out in pain gripping the wound,
which burned and oozed with blood.
Freya laughed mockingly. "You fool! Did you really think you could stop me? You will die just like the rest of your family, and
your friends! You're the last Fernandez left, even your sister died, you're the only one left, so you must know the location of the
purity orb!"
Carrie's eyes widened. "....My sister...Kathy...you killed my sister too...you..."
The girl's words broke off as she began to cry.
"She was a weak fool, but she was much smarter then the rest of you, she served under Taromecika, she killed others just like
I did. Besides I wasen't the one who killed her, it was...."
"LIES!! YOU WON'T GET AWAY WITH IT!!!!"
Carrie's body began to glow an intense white, even more brighter then before.
"What!? This power!! How!!" Freya gasped eyes dancing with fear. "How is this possible."
"ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"< /div>
The pain was stronger this time, but her rage drew her forward. It was like a demon in her heart, driving her forward for sweet
taste of revenge.
"I WON'T LET YOU KILL ANYONE ELSE!! I'LL HAVE MY REVENGE!!!!!!!! EVEN IF IT MEANS GIVING UP
THE PURITY OF MY CHILDHOOD SOUL AND STAINING MY HANDS WITH YOUR ROTTEN EVIL BLOOD!!!
YOU WILL DIE!!!!!!"
The power grew even more intensely, until it created one huge powerful orb within the sky. It was around the size of a huge
boulder, and grew more brighter then the sun.
Freya looked at the ball of light hopelessly. "How...how can you have so much power...why...how is it possible?"
"The Fernandez family were skilled magic users, with the death of each member the power got transferred to the youngest in
the family, so each Fernandez member was born with immense power...your mistake was to kill each and every
Fernandez...because now, being the youngest within the family I have the power of every Fernandez that has ever been born."
Carrie said intensely, her eyes glowing with power. "I hope that when you are born in your next life, that then...you will be able
to live like a normal child...instead of a bloodthirsty killer...goodbye."
"Nooo!!" Freya moaned falling to her knees, as she watched the ball of light approach her. The look in her face showed no
fear, but something even worse. It showed helplessness and betrayal...a pained expression that Carrie would remember for the
rest of her life.
"Lord Lounaru...Why...why aren't you comeing to help me...?"
When the attack hit the whole area was covered in a light, causing Carrie to shield her eyes.
"Freya...he didn't come because he didn't care...a monster like that can't care for anyone but himself...if only you could have
realised that a little sooner." With those words spoken Carrie let the darkness engulf her as she passed out from exhaustion.
Carrie slowly opened her eyes to find the blurred form of Mimi over her.
"Hey she's waking up!" The fairy-half explained.
"What happened, is Freya dead?"
"She sure is!" Ruto grinned. "You really nailed her, if it wasn't for you, we all would have died!"
"Yeah, for such a young girl, you sure are powerful." Genki praised.
"I wouldn't want to get you mad at me." Mara commented with a smile.
"...Thanks..." Keith said, turning away, looking almost ashamed of being saved by a tiny kid.
" Carrie, thank you, I don't know what to say...but thank you, for saving all of us."
Carrie looked down for a moment and the blood stained dirt and then back up at Ryan with a smile. "I'm glad that this time...I
was able to save others...Your on a quest to stop Taromecika, the one's who have destroyed my family...the one's who killed
Kathy, aren't you? May I please come along?"
"......How did you know about Kathy?" Ryan asked, sounding almost ashamed for lying.
" Freya told me how Taromecika killed her...you knew didn't you, but you didn't want to hurt me anymore...I guess you did the
right thing, back then...the thought of finding Kathy was the only thing keeping me going, but now, the lust for revenge, revenge
for the death of my family will drive me forth!"
"It will be dangerous... " Mimi began but Keith shock his head, stopping her from speaking.
"If she thirsts for revenge, nothing will stop her from trying to get it. Even if we refuse to take her along she will go by herself
anyway, so the least we can do is take her with us so we can make sure she does not get herself killed."
The group frowned as they thought about what Keith said.
"Ok, you can come. It will be dangerous but as long as you keep strength in your heart, you will be able to make it
threw anything. Welcome to the team, Carrie." Ryan smiled, shaking the girls hand.
"Yeah!! Another member against the fight against evil!" Genki exclaimed, jumping into the air with a huge grin plastered on his
face.
"It is nice to have Kathy's sister with us...she had always treated me so nice when I knew her." Mimi smiled warmly.
"It will be nice to have another girl besides Mimi to chat with!" Mara beamed.
"Hey..." Ruto started staring at the cat-girl.
"You don't count as a girl." The cat girl sniffed turning away from her. " Not with a chest and attuide like yours!"
"Grrrr...explo...wait, must...not...ruin...happy...peaceful...moment!" Turning to Carrie she smiled widely.
"It's nice to have you on the team! Very nice...now there will be three girls with brains on the team, eh Mimi, now we have
someone to talk with that does not bring up 'how we must stay away from Ryan, or else.' "
Mimi put her hand to her mouth to stop herself from chuckling.
"WHAT WAS THAT!?!" Mara hissed, her tail fluffing up behind her.
"You heard me, kitty-cat!"
"You!!"
Carrie began to giggle. "You two behave just like Kathy and I use to. Thank you, seeing that reminded me of all the good times with
Kathy."
Mara and Ruto forgot their anger at each other and smiled small smiles at each other and Carrie.
"..." Keith watched the sean, his arms still crossed over his chest.
"Aren't you going to say anything, Keith?" Mara questioned. Keith's face turned red as the cat girl stared at him cutely threw big eyes.
"Uh...It is nice to have you on the team." Keith then went back to standing around with his arms crossed.
"He always acts like that." Ryan whispered to Carrie who nodded her head in understanding.
"Hey, I just remembered, we never did find the orb did we?" Genki thought.
"The purity orb? Freya said something about that before she died...what is it? Lounaru and her came hear looking for it."
"Well..." Ryan began before explain the whole story to Carrie, who nodded her head and allowed them to search the remains
of the wagons and supply of the Fernandez family. They had been searching for a few hours before they decided to give up.
"I can't find it anywhere." Mimi sighed, dropping to the ground.
"You don't think it is buried underground, do you?" Genki moaned, falling next to Mimi.
"Ohhhh!! Don't even think that, I already chipped a claw searching for that orb!" Mara whimpered.
" We'll take a break before we search more, that trail my sword left in the sky said it was around hear." Ryan informed, not
ready to give up.
"...I was meaning to ask about that." Carrie said suddenly as she looked up into the sky. "How did that golden light appear in
sky, it was there when Lounaru attacked us...but I never really thought about it until now."
The group froze and turned to Carrie surprised.
"You can...see it?" Ryan asked, his eyes wide with shock.
"Yeah so?" Carrie blinked in confusion at their shocked expressions.
Ruto smiled softly stepping forward she kneeled down in front of Carrie, and placed a hand over the little girl's heart.
"The orb of Purity...this is where it was hidden the whole time..." The voice Ruto spoke in wasn't that of her own but in the
voice she had spoken in when they first met her at Anju.
