Fan Fiction ❯ The HAC Unit ❯ Wild Kite ( Chapter 1 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
The HAC Unit
Prologue
Lor lay still on her bed as she dreamed of things she would be doing that summer. Of course, the summer had only just begun and Lor was more then excited to go on her summer vacation with her family.
Kite, who had found his way onto Lor’s bed was sleeping peacefully by her, or at least partly by her site and the rest on top of her, as he nudged at her cheek.
He was a beautiful fluffy cat having the colors of a domino. His eyes piercing blue and his fur long and fine.
Of all things cats loved to do, cuddling was one of them. Kite especially loved to cuddle more then almost anything else. He felt content at where he was at and had not intention of moving until he was ready.
Now, for a cat to lay on someone it would be fine because cats are light weight and don’t make loud noises in your ear like most other animals. However, Kite was one exception to this rule.
Why does it feel like I have something heavy on top of me, Lor asked herself as she stirred in her sleep. It’s also really hot in here.
Lor opened her eyes and saw, to her surprise, Kite. Except he was not longer a cat. Somehow she must have transformed him into a human without knowing it the night before.
Lor tried to rise up, but Kite was much to heavy for her to lift.
“Ahh, get off me Kite!” Lor yelled. Suddenly Kite’s eyes opened wide and he arose immediately with a look of shock in his face.
“What is it?!” He asked in a jumpy voice.
“Nothing,” Lor said in a sleepy voice as she arose as well. “I’m sorry if I scared you, but I can’t have you laying on top of me.”
“But you know how much cats love to cuddle,” Kite said as he nudged Lor with his cheek on her arm. “And you felt so warm, I couldn’t resist.”
“Stop that!” Lor pushed Kite away. “When will you learn to be civilized?”

For years man has tried to brake the code between animal and human communication. But sadly none have prevailed. However, there are necklaces known to only my family and passed down through the generations that have breached the ability to not only communicate with animals, but do more.
Life with Kite started of course with a beginning. However, the ending to this beginning is still not known to me as I go through my everyday life, trying to survive it’s trials and trails.

Lor was just exiting the entrance to the football field and heading on the road to her house when she noticed a fluffy black and white cat. He seemed friendly as he walked along side Lor and followed her as she passed several houses in her neighborhood. But was he a stray, or was he someone else’s cat?
Lor decided to see for herself if he was or not.
By using the power of her feline charmed necklace, Lor was able to transform the cat into a real human. She only hoped no one had seen what she had done. The necklace was an amazing item, but it could only be used to translate feline language and turn felines into humans.
His figure stood just a bit taller then Lor and his hair was shiny and fluffy, looking a black color on top and white at the bottom layers. And like the other transformations he wore a suit that contrast with his fur. Black with white ends on the sleeves and pant bottoms. His shoes, however, were brown and quite shiny. His face seemed light and his eyes stood out beautifully with a striking blue color.
“Are you a wild cat or a neighbors cat,” Lor asked.
“I am a feral cat, but I wish to be a pet,” The cat said with a grin. “Perhaps you will take me with you?”
Lor was just about to reply, but before doing so she was pinned to a tree by the very strong, and very curious cat. He came within sniffing distance and began sniffing Lor’s hair and clothing.
“Hey, stop acting like a cat!” Lor yelled as she tried pushing off the feral cat.
“But I need to know what you smell like if I am to come home with you,” The cat said as he continued sniffing.
This cat has put me in a very uncomfortable position, Lor thought to herself. I can hardly move at all. I had no idea cats could be so strong.
“Who said I was taking you home with me!” Lor replied.
“Please.....I’m so hungry.” The feral cat said as he nudged Lor’s cheek with his. “And your so warm and have a really nice smell to you.”
“Err, stop with the weird talk, okay!” Lor was getting a little paranoid by the cuddly cat and used all her strength to finally push him away. “You can come with me. But you have to obey everything I say. Is that clear?”
“Sheer Clear, master,” The wild cat said aloud.
“Don’t call me master,” Lor said in an annoyed voice as she began walking, once again, towards her house.
“So...do I get a name?”
“Yeah, your name will be....” Lor thought for a moment. “Kite!”
“Yes! I finally have a name!” Kite’s voice rang out.
“Sh,” Lor shushed. “We have a dog you know.”
“A dog!” Kite sprung to Lor’s side. “Does it like cats?”
“No, not really. She chases around our other cats a lot.”
“Other cats?”
“Yeah, we have three others.”
“Oh great.” Kite said sarcastically.
Kite made it safely inside the house and thankfully no one saw him as he was escorted by Lor to her room.
“There is where you’ll sleep,” Lor pointed to an empty space by her closet.
“Over there, but I’ll get lonely,” Kite whined.
“Well, I suppose if you were to stay in your cat form you could lay on my bed. But only in your cat form.”
“Say master....”
“Err, don’t call me master,” Lor said in anger. “Just Lor, okay.”
“Alright then. Lor, how was it you turned me into a human?”
“I used this necklace,” Lor held out her precious necklace. It’s charm at the end, looking like a cat. “I rubbed you under you chin, and the necklace activated. Only if I rub you under your chin will the transformation take effect.”
“Wow, seems like such an amazing ability that comes from such a small object.”
“Yeah, I know. I almost didn’t believe it when I first saw a transformation.”
“I’m just glad I can be human now!”
“For a while at least.” Lor said with a smile. “Or at least until bed time.”
“Yeah, and I wanna do so many things before then!” Kite said as he walked over to Lor’s computer. “What does this do?”
“Don’t touch that!”
“Sorry,” Kite said as he backed away, only to find something else to catch his interest. He began pushing buttons on a cd player.
“Kite! Get away from that!” Lor said as she turned off the player. “Man, you may look my age, but you have the maturity of a four year old.
That night Lor went to sleep early so she could get up for her tennis lessons in the morning.
She directed Kite to the restroom so he had somewhere to stay while she changed. Then when he came back to her room she transformed him back into a cat and went to bed.
Not knowing she had transformed Kite again, there he lay on her bed the next morning, or to be more precise, on her, in human form and Lor was not very happy because she had to get up quickly and head to her tennis class with her sisters.
After yelling at him to get off of her, she immediately began to get ready for her first day at the tennis clinic since the last year.
“What exactly is tennis?” Kite asked curiously.
Lor stopped her packing of supplies and grabbed a tennis ball.
“See this ball,” She said as she tossed it to Kite. “This is what you use in tennis. It’s known as a tennis ball.”
“Amazing, it’s squishy!” Kite said as he batted the ball on the ground.
“Only because it’s a practice ball,” Lor said as she finished getting ready. “Stay in my room, okay. There won’t be anyone here, but there’s no telling what our other cats will do if they see you.”
“Alright then,” Kite said as he continued to play with the tennis ball.
“Oh and Kite,” Lor added before exiting. “Please don’t play with anything in my room.”
