The House of Demonic Revolutions

The shabby and deserted Fleming Mansion stood on a lonely, windswept hill attracting a curious passerby, "Jeez," she said, "this place is pretty bleak," the girl's name was Aoi Sora (name meaning blue sky).

"Yeah, Aoi, I guess you're right… Wanna explore?!" asked her friend, Sagasou Yumeno (name meaning shards or fragments of dreams), excitedly, "It looks like demons live there!" she giggled.

"Saga-chan*! You're scaring meeee!" Aoi whined. Suddenly, an enormous shriek was emitted from the mansion. Terrified, Aoi tried to run away, but Saga-chan seized her arm and pulled her into the mansion as the shriek faded into the night.

"Gee, Aoi-chan*! You're brave!" said Saga-chan as she dragged a ridiculously frightened Aoi into the shadowy house, "I mean, its just an old house… nothin' to be afraid of… right?" she said as she tiptoed into the huge house being a bit scared herself.

"No way! I'm gettin' myself outta here!" said Aoi. Saga-chan watched her companion vanish into the unknowns of the spooky house.

Great, she thinks, now I have to explore this weird place all on my own. She gulped, Oh boy!

In the distance, something howled, where better to start looking than a place with a creepy howl? The howl, just like the shriek, disappeared. Little did she know… she was right about the demon thing.

"How dare you upset the house of demonic revolutions?!" said a voice that made Saga-chan stop in her tracks, "Sagasou Yumeno" now… things were getting out of hand.

"D-d-demonic revolutions?" she asked, now very scared, "How do you know my name?"

"You mean to tell me, no one's told you yet?! Well, no surprise there, humans are weak, insignificant creatures." Said the voice, "You are the daughter of our overlord, Yokurei" the voice stepped out from the shadows. It wasn't as big as she thought it would be, in fact it wasn't big at all. It was about three feet tall, but with long, sharp claws, teeth and horns. It walked up to her… "Come, princess, only you can lead us to greatness as we rise up against our lord. Here, let me tell you a bit about this house, myself, and your history.

"We here at the house of demonic revolutions live with no other thought than to purify our lord, your father, and we need a blood relative to do so… one with human blood… you."

By now, she was hanging on to every word the demon said, "But how come mom never told me about this? I mean… if I married a demon, I'd want my kid to know."

"It was not you that they tried to keep it from… but from us so he would not become purified. You are a Miko*, am I correct?" she nodded, "Good, then it should be a little bit easier for you. Some of the demons are unfriendly… while others, like myself try to be kinder. Now… in order to do this, you must disguise yourself as one of us," you had to admit… this demon had a thunderous voice, but he was very kind.

"Okay, I'll do it, but only because I like helping people," said Saga-chan, "And because I think my father's a big inkei" (I'm not going to translate that one, it's not a very nice thing to say), "and please call me Saga-chan," she said with a smile.

They walked down the hall, do I ask him about Sora-chan? She wondered, better ask later. She didn't want to put her best friend in danger in case some of the more unfriendly demons were watching or listening. The place was getting gloomier as they went further in. They reached a door, he turned to Saga-chan, and held out a cloak, "This'll make you look like one of us," he said as he put one on himself. He stuck out his hand at the door and started chanting in his own language. The door opened.

Wow! She thought to herself, its like a city in here! They walked down one of the streets towards a small shop with a boy in it. The boy looked around Saga-chan's age, "This is Yuki*, he will guide you from here, I've got to get back to work, or else I'll be executed," (Yuki means snow).

Saga-chan nodded, "What's your name?" asked Yuki kindly. He had no demonic indications, except for his gold-red eyes, slightly sharp claws, and white hair.

"Sagasou Yumeno, but please just call me Saga-chan," the shop they were in was antique shop, with merchandise lying hazardously on the floor.

Yuki nodded, "Come, we'll need some weapons, and something to distract him with," he said as he took her hand and led her to the back.

"Have you ever heard of a CD player?" she asked. Yuki looked at her strangely, "Good, then I've got something to distract him," she reached in her bag and pulled out a CD player with a Hamasaki Ayumi CD in it, "My favorite CD, I'll explain it later."

Yuki pulled out a sword with a bamboo hilt, "This is called the Blade of a Thousand Battles," he said, "use it with much precaution, for it has seen nine hundred ninety nine battles from the nine hundred ninety nine generations of your family, you are the thousandth generation, so after you battle your father it, it will destroy itself."

All of this was making her head spin, "Isn't it better then if I don't use the sword?" she asked.

"No, it is your destiny to wield this blade, as it has your name written on it, does it not?" she looked at the blade and indeed, her name was engraved on it.

"I-I-I don't understand. This is all way too much to take in at once," there was a knock at the door.

"Sagasou… come out, I know you're in there! Its your father! I order you out of that shop this instant!"

"N-n-no! I'm not afraid anymore!" she said and grabbed the sword I just don't want to say "Kaze no Kizu" and embarrass myself! "HYAAAH!!" she cried as she plunged the sword into the heart of the beast, "That was for leaving my mother!" she twisted the hilt, and dragged the sword out through the side of the evil demon.

"Enough of that! Purify him!" called Yuki.

"Oh, yeah! I was having a little too much fun there!" she stuck her hand out at him, palm opened as a pink light was forming. She let loose the powerball of Yang energy and the demon was purified, "Huff, huff, huff…"

"Saga-chaaaaan!" was heard as Aoi ran into the shop and hugged Saga-chan tight around the neck, "I told you we shouldn't have come this way! I mean look at this place! Its full of dust!"

Saga-chan looked around they were back in the house, not in the little shop. I don't understand was it all a dream? She looked at the sword in her hand and felt blood dripping down her cheek from where she was scratched by her father no, it was no dream, it was real.

THREE DAYS LATER

"Saga-chan, how did you get that cut on your cheek?" asked Aoi.

"Dunno… I fell, I guess," that was a lie… she remembered exactly what happened in that little antique shop. I didn't even use my CD player… eh hehehe.

The bell rang and the teacher walked in, "Class, meet our new student: Yuki Fuyuno!" (name meaning snow of the winter) said the teacher cheerfully. Saga-chan's head snapped up. No, it couldn't be…could it?! She thought excitedly.

A boy with gold-red eyes, white hair, and semi sharp nails. YUKI! I knew it wasn't a dream! She thought, "You can sit next to Sagasou Yumeno, Saga-chan please raise your hand," the teacher instructed.

Her hand shot up and Yuki was half way to his seat by then, "So," he whispered, "has the sword disappeared yet?" he asked.

"Not yet," she replied.

"Then you haven't fought your last battle yet."

"I've been training, I'm ready"
