Chapter Nine
Finding Life

High in the sky the sun hung like the Orb of Fire itself. Kale moved aside a large bush and held it in place for Sala to pass. She wiped her brow to rid it of the beads of sweat forming there. The forest was dark but the sun was strong enough to pierce the woven boughs. Short blue locks clung to her face and neck as more sweat formed on her body.

Kale pulled off his soaked tunic and slung it over his shoulder. Sala glanced at him and smiled. He was rather muscular though his lean figure belied the existence of any type of muscle tone. They travelled through the woods at a rather slow pace.

Night crept upon them slowly. As darkness fell around them, the two Draegas made camp. Kale brought two large river trout and Sala prepared a fire to cook them on. They could have eaten the fish raw but both preferred their food cooked. When they were cleaned, skinned, and spitted on sticks, the two relaxed.

"So," Kale said softly. "Why did you come to our village?"

Sala stared at him. "What do you mean?" she asked.
"No girl as pretty as you would have come to our tiny village unless something had happened to you where you had no other choice." he said stretching out on the ground.

Sala stared at the cooking fish. Fat dripped off of them and caused the fire to hiss and pop. The orange flames danced and cast eerie shadows on the landscape beyond. She sighed heavily. There was no real point in holding the pain in any longer.

"Someone sent a dragon to Orbian and it destroyed my village." she said softly. "The whole thing was burnt to a crisp. When I got there my parents were trapped inside our house. I tried to go in and save them, but Grandfather put a holding spell on me."

Kale looked over at her. He'd heard her voice crack. In the dancing firelight, he caught sight of a glistening tear drop. Sala inhaled a shaky breath.

"He made me watch them die." she said even softer than before.

Sala covered her face with her hands and wept softly into them. Kale moved closer to her and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. He whispered into her ear as she cried into his tunic. Sala pulled away and looked up at him. Kale moved closer to her and kissed her lightly. Sala pulled away from him slowly.

"You're so beautiful." he whispered.

"My eyes are all puffy." she said.

Kale chuckled, wiping away a tear. "That doesn't matter." he said.

He kissed her again and caressed her cheek. Sala kissed him back. Kale wrapped his other arm around her waist and held her tightly to him. The young wolf woman pulled away from him, breathing heavily. She closed her eyes, her mind was cloudy as she sat beside him.

Kale looked at her for a long moment in silence. She opened her silver eyes and gave a tiny nod. Kale pushed her down slowly and crawled on top of her. Sala lay still as he pulled her tunic up. She rose off of the ground so that he could pull it over her head. He tossed it to the side and bent to kiss her neck.

She lay there, letting his life flow into her. Sala pulled at his tunic and pulled it off of him. Kale moved down to her slender shoulders and bit the muscle near her neck. Sala moaned in pleasure. He kissed her shoulder and moved down her chest. She gasped and moaned again when he took one nipple into his mouth and began to suck gently on it.

Sala moved her hands from the green grass and placed them onto his back. She ran them along the tanned flesh, felling it smooth beneath her hands. Kale released her nipple and kissed her firm, ample breasts. As he kissed down her chest and to her stomach, he drew wet little circles with his tongue.

When he pulled her doe skin pants down, Sala tensed up. Kale looked up at her and smiled. He crawled back on top of her and kissed her full on her lips. Sala wrapped her arm arond his neck and pulled him down on top of her. She laughed against his lips when she felt his extended member move against her leg.

Kale pulled away. "Why are you laughing?" he asked, offended by her laughter.

Sala shook her head. "It's nothing." she said. "Continue, please."

Kale smiled softly and rose slowly to his feet. When he undid his pants, letting them fall to the ground, Sala smiled up at him. Kale cocked an eyebrow at her and she nodded. He moved back down on top of her and slid into her warm, wet well. Sala clawed his back and let out an involentary scream of pleasure.

He moved slowly back and forth inside of her. Sala moaned and clawed at him. Kale's eyes rolled back into his head as he rode her slowly. The climax came on slowly, but when it hit it hit them hard. Kale released inside of her and lay down slowly on top of her. Sala lay there, with her hands in his sweaty hair.

"Good?" he asked.

"Yes." Sala said

Kale picked himself up and looked down at her. Sala kissed him softly on the lips then closed her eyes. The young man watched her sleeping. As he watched her, Kale felt his heart flutter. He smiled down at her. No woman had ever made him feel this way. He lay down on her again and fell asleep.
