Chapter Fifteen
Traekavin's Blades
People jostled her as Sala moved through the darkening streets. She was in a hurry to get to the smithy. On the morning of their second day she had put and order in for two Stardiamond daggers. Stardiamond was a very rear and magical metal. Her grandfather had once told her that if a Draega were to have a weapon made of the precious metal then their own magic would flow into the weapon upon touching it.
How this was possible, Sala wasn't really sure. All she knew was that she would have a pair of daggers made from the metal that would put her very own magic into her weaponry. She entered the smithy's shop and dumped the coins onto his work table. He looked up at her and smiled.
"Good doing business with you, lassie." he said.
"Yes, now give me my weapons." she said.
The old man reached under his table and pulled out two daggers. Sala smiled in satisfaction. The blades sparkled as she twirled them in her hands. The pummel of the daggers were made of silver and formed into the heads of wolves. One each blade the man had carved a different shape. One had a black crescent moon and the other had a blue star.
"Thanks." Sala said.
The smithy handed her two small belts with sheaths on them. "Hide those, missy." he said.
Sala nodded. She placed the daggers into their sheaths and tied them around her calves. She would find a better place for them later. With a final thanks to the smithy, Sala returned to the inn.
When she entered the tavern, Sala stopped dead in her tracks. Frax and Kale sat at a table in the corner of the tavern. How could Frax be so stupid to let Kale out of bed in his condition? She balled up her fists and marched over to them. Frax saw her coming first and quickly left Kale's side when he caught sight of the look on Sala's face.
"What in the seven hells are you doing down here?!" Sala demanded.
"Drinking." Kale said, gulping down some beer to prove his point.
Sala growled. "I can see that!" she snarled. "Why?!"
"I was thirsty because your damned soup was awful." he snarled back.
Sala stomped her foot angrily, turned on her heel, and stormed up to their room. Kale wasn't too far behind. He shot Frax a warning glance. The human nodded and pushed farther into the crowd. Sala wrenched the door open and slammed it behind her. Kale caught it before it closed and shut it quietly behind him.
"Go away!" she shouted.
"Hell no!" Kale said, locking the door. "You're all mine now."
Sala smirked at him. "Sure." she said sarcastically.
"Hey, you drugged me and took money from that pathetic human to buy weapons I said that you didn't need. I think you owe me a little something." he said.
"Nope." Sala shook her head.
Kale moved towards her and pulled at her tunic. Sala pushed him away but he held her tunic to tightly to be knocked away with only a little push. He jerked her to him and shoved her to the bed. Sala fell over onto the mattress and quickly propped herself up onto her elbows. Kale jumped onto the bed and hovered over her.
"You're mine!" he growled.
He pulled her shirt off and kissed her bare chest and stomach. Sala squirmed, trying to move away from him. Kale laughed silently as she tried to fight her own desire. It was very interesting to watch. He grabbed her pants and jerked them off. He quickly unfastened the daggers around her calves and tossed them to the floor. His tongue slid into her and licked all over he wet walls.
Sala jumped and moaned in pleasure. Kale smiled and continued. She ran her fingers through his hair, moaning and squirming. Kale pulled away and took off his clothes quickly. He shoved his way inside of her and moved in and out hard and fast. Sala clawed his back and cried out.
When he release inside of her, she let out a howl. Kale laughed loudly and fell on top of her. They lay there in silence. Sala played in his hair as she fell asleep. Kale lay there, listening to her heartbeat.
"So much for not doing anything strenuous." he said softly and drifted off to sleep.
