Chapter Twenty-Seven
Orb of Light

A low growl escaped Baeriv's lips as he watched the Orbs hover in front of the Traekavin. Sala continued to play the sad tune. In a slow motion, the Orbs began to spin around the Draegan woman. Kale moved around behind her, but made sure not to be a distraction. As the spinning of the Orbs sped up, Frax snorted. She couldn't be serious.
The four Orbs became a blur now. Not a single creature moved as they spun around the Traekavin woman. Not a breath of wind stirred. Suddenly, Sala opened her eyes and a bright white light surrounded her. Frax, Baeriv, and Sathin covered their faces from this holy light.
When the light finally faded away, Sala hovered a foot above the ground and hovering between the palms of her upraised hands, was the Orb of Light. Kale gasped in surprise as he looked upon the glowing white glory that was the Orb of Light. Sala looped it around her neck and it hung from a thong made of the purest silver that Kale had ever seen.
"Ha!" Frax laughed. "That will do nothing to help you."
Sala glared at the man. (Fool of a human.) her voice rang in his mind. (You are the spawn of devils. I am the spawn of a silver wolf.)
"A bitch!" Frax growled and held out one of his hands.
Within the palm formed a tiny blade of black light. Sala stared at it for a moment. What good would a tiny sliver of black light do him? Frax laughed evilly, holding it between his middle and index finger. When his raised arm fell, the blade of dark light flew at Sathin. Sala gasped as the old Wolf Mage fell to the ground.
