Chapter 2

My True Destiny

When I woke up, I was on my bed at my house. I sat up and asked where I was. I saw Carollyn looking at me.

"I dont know what really happened, all I remember is you fainted during your fight then the lights went out." replied Carollyn. "By the way, Ive been staying in your spare bedroom. I hope you dont mind."

"But, But I remember holding the dragon sword and dragons, and...and...and...my family..." I said sadly.

"They cancelled the competiton after the sword was stolen."

"Stolen! No, I need that sword to save my family..." Then I saw that blinding light again, and the dragon sword appeared in my hand. "It wasn't a dream!" I yelled.

Carollyn looked astonished."How did you get that?"

"It just appeared in my hands, I think it is my destiny to use this sword. It felt like the spirit of the dragon was inside of my soul. I feel its extreme bravery and power. The sword felt like it was alive in my hands, like it wanted to be used. Like it had a purpose. Like there was really a dragon inside..."

I stood up and walked past Carollyn. I glanced out the window and relized the sky was black. "What happened to the sky?" I asked. "The sky turned black after the competition, I dont know why though." Carollyn said. All of a sudden, pain rushed through my body. I began to scream and all my possesions began falling from the shelves. I felt a shockwave and the pain stopped.

I ran over to Carollyn, she looked half scared to death. "What...what was that...?" She asked with a shiver in her voice. "Im scared." Carollyn said. "Help me please...Hey! Look out the window...Oh my gosh!" I turned around and saw a gigantic dragon. "Lets go!" I told Carollyn as I picked her up. "We need to get out of here."I heard her crying as I ran through the yard as the dragon took to the air. I ran as fast as I could into the forest. "Carollyn, stay here. Ill be back, I promise." I said as I sat her down in a small clearing.

I began to run back through the forest. I had branches hitting my body but I kept running. I saw a shadow pass over me, and knew it was the dragon. I felt the ground shake as the dragon landed. I had the Dragon Sword held tight as I ran out of the forest. I stared up at the dragon. He had firey red eyes, and his wings were as big as my house. The dragon opened its mouth and a row of razor sharp fangs and a snake like tongue appeared.

"Oh shoot...well here goes nothing."

I ran at the dragon and saw his tail swing around. It hit me and I flew through air. It knocked the breath right out of me. The Dragon Sword started glowing and I felt impowered. I rolled across the ground and jumped right up. The sword seemed to give me superhuman abilities. I jumped into the air, higher than Id ever seen anyone jump, and landed on the dragons head. Maybe not the best landing spot. The dragon shook his head and I began to fall. The dragon exposed his teeth again and went to bite me in two. I swung the sword and barely penatrated his rough skin, but it was enough to stop him from killing me!

When I hit the ground the dragon attempted to bite me again. I rolled out of the way and the dragon ate dirt. It looked really angry now. I jumped at it, twisting through the air as i stabbed it in the side. I heard a roar and it hit me with its tail again. This time as I was flying he dropped one of his front claws on me. I attempted to shove it off but was shoved deeper into the ground. I stabbed him in the foot and he lifted up. Then with a roar he flew into the sky.

I thought it was over until he turned and began flying towards me. I rolled out of the way and it flew back to the sky. I turned and saw a huge blast of fire coming at me, but when it hit my body it did not burn. It seemed to make me stronger. Was it because of the Dragon Sword? I got ready for the dragon to make another pass, but it flew above the forest then dived into the trees. I heard a scream in the distance. The dragon reappeared with Carollyn in one of its claws.

"Help Xaiver, Please!"I jumped into the sky and landed on the dragons back. I must have jumped a good 50 feet. I cut its right wing and it began to spiral dive to the ground. I jumped around the dragon and grabbed Carollyn. I knew the impact would hurt. As it fell to the ground I turned to where my back faced down. With Carollyn in my arms I hit the ground. A huge pain went through my body. Soon after the dragon hit.

The dragon was still alive, just badly hurt. It jumped into the sky and flew very slowly away. Carollyn was fine after the fall but I was badly wounded.

"Xavier, get up, please!" Carollyn looked startled, whilst crying. I heard her voice and began to wake up. My body had sure taken a beating.

"Thank goodness you are all right." Carollyn said. I dont know why but her voice comforted me and I sat up. Bruised and beat but still alive.

Carollyn helped me make my way inside. As soon as I hit my bed I felt relief.

"Im so glad you are alive, and thank you for saving me, now get some rest." I drifted into sleep and I had a dream, about Carollyn. I saw her being captured by a dragon and killed by it. I tried to help but I could do nothing but watch as she perished. I relized then I was having dreams of my future. I didn't really know how but the dream was like a sign. Then in that dream the dragon came after me and right as he struck the last blow I woke up.

I sat up in bed with tears on my face and breathing rapidly, sweatly all over. A pain shot all through my body and I fell back to sleep. I dont remember having any dreams after that and I was glad. I just hoped that last dream wasnt true. My dreams all seem to have a meaning that tell me something about my destiny. I just wonder what dreams tomorrow night will bring.

I woke up the next morning, still sore but feeling better. I stood up and looked out the window. The sky was still black. The sunlight barely shone through the clouds. Then rain began pouring down.

"Yawn, good morning," Carolyn said. "Feeling better?"

"Yes, much better."

"I made you breakfast." Carollyn said cheerfully. After I had a bite to eat I told Carollyn about my destiny dreams. I didnt tell her about the one I had last night though.

I opened the door and walked into the rain. I heard a roar of thunder in the distance, and it reminded me of the dragon. I pulled out the Dragon Sword and looked at it. The blade was sharp enough to cut through stone with ease. It seemed to be glowing, like it was on fire. The handle with the head of a dragon on it, like it was made for some purpose with dragons.

I walked to the spot I hit the ground. The hole was huge, Im suprised it didnt kill me. Then I saw a flash of lightning and the rain began to fall even harder. Then I saw a blurry figure walking towards me. I ran inside and slammed the door.

"Whats wrong?" Carollyn asked.

"Something is out there."

I peered through the window and saw a pair of firey red eyes.

"Not another dragon!" Then I saw a flash in the rain and heard a yell, "Flarebolt, dodge its claw!" I ran outside to help the other two fighters. It turned out to be a greater demon, but out here? There arent supposed to be any Greater Demons in this area! I pulled out my Dragon Sword and went over to Flarebolt and the other fighter who appears to be his apprentice. I could barely see through the rain. Flarebolt was wearing robes and wielded a staff, obviously indicating he was a wizard of some sort. The other figher had on adamantite armour and a huge two handed sword. He must be a swordsmen, like me. I saw a huge inferno ingulf the demon, an attack from Flarebolt, then I attacked.

I lept through the flames and slashed the demons chest. I got rain in my eyes and couldnt see him swing his claw. I was thrown out of the ring of fire which faded away soon after. I saw the warrior wearing adamantite take a swing and inflict a good gash in the demons leg. The greater demon grabbed the fighter and began to crush him. "Please help my friend Jinaninja!" yelled Flarebolt to me. I heard Jinjaninja scream in pain, gasping for breath.

I ran to the demon and sliced up his body. It released Jinjaninja and went to attack me. I ran to a tree and flipped off it. I landed on the other side of the demon. Flarebolt shot a huge metor at the demon. After it hit the demon was burnt very badly. Then Jinjaninja jumped up on its head and stabbed it in the eye. The demon was nearly blinded now and with the rain he probobly could see nothing.

The demon opened his mouth exposing a row of razor sharp teeth. It fell to all fours and tried to bite me. I dropped my sword and grabbed his mouth. It stopped him from biting but I couldnt hold him long. Rain continues to fall upon me and my hands began to slip. Then Jinjaninja popped up with his two handed sword. "I dont think so." He said laughing as he stabbed through the demons bottom jaw.

The beast roared in pain and fell. I picked up my sword and got ready. Demons don't die easy. The demon arose to his feet and roared in power. The demon was engulfed in flames, not affected by the rain. Its muscles grew larger, and veins were visible from his body. It grew wings and electricity began to run through it. The demons horns grew atleast twice their original size. I just trembled as I saw the terrifying image. Its claws grew huge then spikes arose out of the demons back.

Flarebolt was the first to attack with a wind blast. The beast did not even flinch. I swung my sword and barely sliced its new tough skin. Jinjaninja tried and aero swipe but still no effect.

"We need help!" I yelled.

"We sure do..." yelled back Flarebolt. The demon threw its claw forward...and hit me in the chest. His claw went all the way through me. I gasped for breath and fell to the ground.

The demon removed its claw and the Dragon Sword began to glow. The ground began to shake and crack, Trees began to fall down. My wound was instantly healed, and I too transformed. A dragon spirit lifted out of the sword and flew into my body. An aura blasted out of my body and my muscles grew larger. Wings sprouted out of my back. I grew a tail covered in razor spikes. my teeth became fangs, and my eyes turned red. I began to lift of the ground and the aura increased. Then I stopped transforming, floating in the air with my new wings.

I dove at the demon, hitting it with the dragon sword, and left a huge gash. I whipped my new tail around and spikes dug into the demon. The power of a dragon swelled inside of me. The demon hit me hard with its claw and I hit a line of trees, they all fell down. I flew at the ground and between the demons legs, then stabbed it in the back.

I looked over and saw Flarebolt and Jinjaninja watching from the safety of the woods.

"Catch!" yelled Flarebolt and tossed his staff. I spun around and the staff began to glow. A dragon flew from the sky and went through the demon. The demon stopped for a moment then burst into flames. Then it was frozen solid, and finally lightning slammed into the ground and a huge bolt hit the demon and it shattered into pieces.

I landed and went back to my normal appearence. A dragon spirit lifted out of my body and flew into the dragon sword with a huge flash of light. The rain began to lighten and stopped comepletely.

"Thanks for the help, what's your name?" asked Jinjaninja.

"I am Xavier, Xavier Ralse. And you two?"

"I am Flarebolt from Falador and my good friend Jinjaninja from Varrock."

"Nice to meet you," I said and shook Flarebolts hand. "Here is your staff."I said and handed it back to him.

"First of all, what on earth happened to you during that fight?" Jinjaninja asked.

"Im not completely sure, but it had to do with my Dragon Sword." I replied.

"You have a Dragon Sword? Wow!" Said Jinjaninja exicitedly.

"Yes, but I dont even know how I got it."

"Oh, how did you use that magic attack, it was incredible!" said Flarebolt.

"Like I said, the Dragon Sword. Do you know how a greater demon got way out here?"I asked.

"Not a clue." said Flarebolt.

"We were off to the great Arenascape arena." said Jinjaninja. "Ive always dreamed of going there" I said. "Plus it is right next to Kilaks Palace." added Flarebolt.

"We have to go!" I yelled.

"Why?" Flarebolt and Jinjaninja asked in unison.

"Kilak has my family working as slaves, and I must save them."

"Oh, for a good cause." said Jinjaninja with great happiness.

"First I have to go get Carollyn."

I went inside and told Carollyn about Arenascape, and the Kilak Palace. So off we went, I had to search for Drake a bit first. It was through a huge dungeon according to the map Flarebolt had. We set up camp after a few hours of riding just as it got too dark to see. Flarebolt shot us up a fire in an instant. So I lay, staring up at the night sky. Still pitch black, and I drifted off to sleep...

That night I had a dream. I was standing in an arena, and saw Kilak opposite of me. I had the Dragon Sword at hand. I was in the tranformation form, and a dragon bust through the wall. It killed Kilak and came after me. Then everything went black. When my vision came back I was in a cave with a huge orb in the center and Carollyn laying in the same place as my last dream. A huge black dragon appeared, I started to fight the dragon and failed. I was knocked unconcious against the wall. The Dragon Sword flashed into my mind, glowing. Then I saw the orb, it began slowly then I saw something.

It was Varrock, where Jinjaninja came from. Demons, goblins, and other monsters were everywhere. Then Flarebolt's face flashed into the orb, dead. Then I saw Falador. A dragon was attacking, and all the buildings were on fire and people dead everywhere. Then next to the fountain I saw Jinjaninja, dead.I regained my consciousness and stabbed the orb in the room center. The dragon.......

"What a strange dream." I mumbled to myself. "I wonder what it means?' Flarebolt, Jinjaninja, and Carollyn woke up soon after. "Morning everyone." I said. "Ready to go?"

"Sure." said Carollyn, so we gathered our gear and we were off again. After a few more hours of riding we found the entrance to the dungeon. The ground began to shake and collapsed under us.

All around was stalagmites and stalagtites dripping water. The dark passage was only lit by a few torches. We entered a room with five passages. Which one to take?

Passages

Passage 1- We could see Ice Giants lurking about there. But Flarebolt used a fire blast to kill it.

Passage 2- This is a path full of different traps. Pitfalls, spears, etc. What happens when we set off to the final trap?

Passage 3- A narrow path with a slippery path, one slip and good bye, how will we save Jinjaninja when he falls? You all know hes the fat one here...

Passage 4- The door slams behind us and the floor begins to fall out to and endless fall, then the roof starts to come down on us.

Passage 5- We must swim to the other side of this one, what about that pesky Demon Snake htats lurking about?

"Lets take the third one, keep it to the center." I said. "Ok, lets go." Flarebolt said.

We walked into the third passage and a rock wall slammed behind us. I spun around and hit the wall with my sword but nothing happened. "Uh oh, that can't be good...."Jinjaninja mumbled. Then an arrow flew by my face and hit the stone wall. I saw a crack run down the wall and a section fell. "More good news...." Jinjaninja mumbled. I saw a shadow jump away from a ledge above.

So we took off down the path which soon turned to ice. It seemed to go on forever and the light was very dim. I kept my eye out for that archer, I didn't want to get hit by one of those. Thank goodness my dragon sword gives my super sharp eyes and reflexes. Soon the path widened a bit, so we sat down to eat.

I pulled a chicken leg out of my bag and took a big bite. The food tasted great, it seemed to make me feel better considering I was sitting on an ice cave floor with an archer after me. I saw something move out of the corner of my eye. I grabbed my sword and started to look around. I heard a bow drawback and shoot. I swung my sword as the arrow got to us and split it in two. One side hit the wall and the other fell over the edge. I never did hear it hit the ground.....

"Get out of here!" I yelled, as I blocked another arrow. I turned into my dragon form and flew towards the shadowy figure. He was fast on his feet, he jumped down the different rock forms with much ease. I saw his huge bow and a pack of about 60 arrows. I flew in front of him and got ready to swing but he had his bow drawn already. He whipped an arrow on to his bow."This one is from Rowen. Rowen, Kilaks loyal servant" The archer said.

I immediately realized that he was Kilak's servant. "What!!"

He let go of the bow string and I flipped back into off the cliff. I flew back up to Rowen and swung, but he blocked with his bow. It must have been made of magic logs because it didnt cut. As he drew another arrow I heard a voice in the distance. All of a sudden a downpour started. I jumped off the side off the cliff and flew to the ledge where I saw Flarebolt with his staff pointed at Rowen.

We all began to run down the path, until Rowen shot an arrow in front of Jinjaninja. He jumped backward, slid, and fell off the cliff. "Ahhhh, help!" he yelled. I jumped off the wall and dove after him. As soon as I reached him an arrow drove into my back. I screamed in pain and stopped diving. Another arrow flew down past me. I heard another scream from Jinjaninja.

I relized he was hurt and dove after him again. I then heard another scream, but this time from Rowen. I saw another new fighter, and there seemed to be a shield around him. It reflected the arrow right back at Rease and it was sticking in his leg.

I saw the bottom of the pit, a boiling pit of magma. I grabbed Jinjaninja right before he hit. It was so hot I almost lost my grip! I was sweating when I havnt even been there for 5 seconds. I flew us out of the pit and saw Rowen dead. "What happened?" I asked. "Our new friend Danny came along and killed Rease." Replied Flarebolt.

"Who said I was your friend?" Danny said. "Rease was just the main target, now its your turn."

I drew my sword and tried to hit Danny but that shield was still around him. Flarebolt thrust his staff towards the wall opposite of us. A huge set of rockes flew at Danny. They penatrated the shield and hit Danny."Flarebolt, this battle is yours." I said as I picked up Carollyn and Jinjaninja and flew them to a safe location. I flew back down next to Flarebolt.

Danny pulled out 2 swords and got ready to fight. Flarebolt used another attack, I heard a rumble in the distance. "Run!" he said.

So I flew up with the others, as I looked over the cliff I saw the magma rising, and the icy path began to melt. Flarebolt jumped on to a rock section and Danny began to fall. Then Danny somehow began to levitate.

Danny threw a small dagger at Flarebolt, but Flarebolt caught it. He threw it back and the dagger reflected off the shield and hit his leg. Then Danny cut Flarebolts chest and I saw his robe start to ooze blood. Then he did the most amazing thing I had ever seen.

In a voice that seemed to roar, Flarebolt yelled, "Flarebolt Blast!!" A huge blaze of fire flew at Danny and began to burn him. He began to scream and covered his face from the flames. Then a the fire began to swirl around Danny and turned into storm clouds. I heard thunder echo through the cavern and lightning began to blast out at Danny. As they hit him his body caught fire. Finally the clouds blew up in a huge explosion and Flarebolt appeared beside me. The whole cave began to collapse so I picked everyone up and flew through the cavern.

I dodged the falling rocks and stalagmites. The magma arose and began shooting up. A lot of igneous type rocks shot up, but I couldnt tell which was which. The ice began melting at an extreme speed turning the magma to rock. I saw the opening as a blast of fire shot up. Flarebolt disappeared and reappeared at the opening. I saw a blast of water fly out of his staff and turn countless blasts of magma to rock.

We flew out of the cave and grabbed Flarebolt on the way out. Lava began to errupt out of the brim of the cave anf Flarebolt disappeared again. I sat everyone down and went back to stop the flowing lava but Flarebolt was there and the lava was rock. "How did you keep disappearing?" I asked. "I have finally mastered the art of telepoting." Flarebolt said as proudly, as he disappeared again.

I turned back to my normal form and walked over to my friends, and Flarebolt was sitting against a tree. "I need to learn how to do that." I mumbled. Jinjaninja was getting a drink from a nearby stream, and Carollyn was layed out on the grass. I heard someone approaching and spun around, holding my sword tight, and sprung into an attack position.

"Hello there, friend. I mean no harm." he said approaching us, while his hands were up in the air making a 'I surrender' posture. "I am the great craftsmen and priest, Shadow Thunder of the island of Entara, but you can just call me Shadow."

"Hello, I am Xavier Ralse, this is Jinjaninja, this is the great wizard Flarebolt, which is similar to you, for you are a priest, and this girl is Carollyn. Would you like to join us as we rest?"

"I would be glad to." Shadow walked over and sat down next to Carollyn. He was wearing brown priest robes and sandles. But I also noticed that he had a bag of a shield and a sword.

I went down to the stream and got a drink. I looked at my reflection and noticed I was bleeding, so I washed myself off in the stream. We stayed at that spot over night. When we woke up it was very warm. We all woke up and Shadow decided to go along with us. We walked across the stream and climbed down a small hill. We then had to walk through a small patch of trees.

After we emerged out of the forest I saw a huge city in the distance.

"There it is, Arenascape."

We started to walk down the path and I knew the city would have to bring adventure.
