Chapter 2: Memories

"Pardon us!" Zelda yelled laughing as she and link ran threw the halls of the Castle on their journey to the Chamber of the King where her father would be waiting for her. They ran past some more people knocking some off their feet. They yelled, pointing their anger mostly at link even though they were upset with the Princess and Link.

The rooms and halls were , packed on this fine evening. It was a special dinner the King held every year. Zelda did not be mean or rude to the guest, or any of the servants wondering around, but she was kind on in a hurry. She did not plan on being yelled at today and neither did Link. They two of them said they'd go back threw the halls and apaogize when they were finished seeing the king.

"Watch out Princess coming threw!" Link yelled as they started up a flight of stairs. He never really notice how many people worked in the castle until now. When they were in a hurry. They turned the corner almost crashing into few unexacting people. They yelled a few words at Link, but he waved them off and kept going.

"We have three minutes!" Zelda said, she was to good of a mood right now to be yelled out. She was starting to wonder how she was going to get threw one of her fathers speeches again with out laughing. Her father was one not to laugh at but he tented to repeat himself most of the time why he was talking and they way he asked, if they were pay attention to was to hard not to laugh at.

"Whoa thats more time then I expected," Link said as he slowed down and Zelda crashed into his back, they stumbled forward a little bit. Link turned towards Zelda with a smile on his face. Zelda glanced him a crocked smile, wondering what was on his mind. Three minutes was not a lot of time to do much of anything.

"What are you stopping for?" Zelda asked as Link embraced her. He patted her head then though for a moment. He smiled before kissing her forehead.

"WE have three minutes, do the, umm, what are they called, lifter shafts working today?" Link asked and Zelda looked a little confused. She nodded a fraide of what he was thinking.

"Yes why?" She asked

"We could see more of this castle that way," Link said looking around then spotted what he wanted to see. The fast moving thing in Hyrule besides the bridge were the lifter shafts in the Castle. To go to the bottom floor to the top floor was a breeze. But that was the only problem, you could not use them unless you were on the bottom, or on the top.

Link walked over to a laundry shoot and opened it. He looked into the darkness but head the distance sounds of people washing clothes. She turned towards Zelda and she looked at him and shook her head slowly, no. She know knew exactly what he was thinking.

"Oh no, were not going down that!" Zelda said and she could not hid the smile that was creeping on her face. Her father would have killed her already if he knew of the things she had done with Link. (Stop thinking perverted you sick minded people :P there was no other way I could say that line with out making it sound dirty.) She walked over to Link and looked threw the laundry shoot. She did not want to do down the thing she threw her dirt clothes down.

"Come on the shaft will take us up to the third floor, we will just round the corner and be at your fathers chamber!" Link smiled talking Zelda hand. He brought her hand up to his face. "And it beats walking up three more flights of stairs.

"Your so crazy!" Zelda said hugging him tightly. He lifted her up and spun around once before he put her back down on her feet.

"Some one has to be," Link said with one of his best smiles. He opened the hatch again and listened for the sounds of any voices coming from down below. He look towards Zelda, what he really wanted to say was `Zelda I'm trying to make up for hurting you, I just want to make sure your always smiling.' But he did not have the heart to say it. He jumped up on the shoot and helped Zelda up. Right now he was not worried about Legends, he was worried about the person whom he cared for the most.

"Hurry go, go!" Zelda whispered as she heard some people coming. She said lightly hitting his chest before latching herself to him.

"As you wish your highness Link said as he pushed off and the two went shooting down the laundry shoot. Zelda, out of all her life had always wondered what it would be like to go down the thing she throws her dirty clothes. And going down it with Link was, dark, dusty and extremely fun, she could not have ever imaged it being like this. She did not even thing the shoot was big enough to fit two teenagers in it. The way the shoot was built was odd, most likely though clothes had `fun' while going down it.

They came shooting out the end of the shoot on to a pile of dirty clothes. As expected going down a laundry shoot. Zelda rolled over on her back and smiled, she did not even what to know what, or who's clothes she was laying on.

"Bra!" Link laughed as Zelda sat up and tryed to snatched it from him.

"Link you don't know who this belongs to! Messing with it, what if it's Impa's? I mean it can be any ones! I don't think...." Zelda stopped as she looked at the bra she held in her hands. Link started laughing as Zelda's face went red. "Never mind...it's mine." Zelda threw her bra back and behind her. "Your lucky you don't live in here mister!"

"Silky Pink, nice choice," Link said as Zelda picked up a shirt and threw it at him. He caught it and tossed it back at her. It hit her face and she fell back on the pile of clothes. She took the shirt off her face and started to laugh lightly.

"All right funs over Link we have to get to my fathers Chamber before he yells at us again," Zelda said even though she really did not want to go back up to see her father. Link looked down at her and smirked. "No, no more we really have to get back up there."

"We have time don't worry," Link said as he helped Zelda sit up.

"You had this all planed out huh Link?" Zelda smiled, he was getting smarted each passing day. Link rubbed his head, then fixed his hat, making sure it was still on his head. He put his forehead to hers, and wondered if she's ever stop getting smarter.

"I would not have you down here if I did not know what I was doing," He said as she leaned forward and kissed him again.

"What would I do with out you Link?" Zelda asked before he could answer Zelda put her index finger over his lips and said, "It's to scary I don't want to think about it." That made them both laugh again. Zelda really had not idea what Life would be like with out this crazy boy. She knew on thing for sure, she would never been down here.

"Princess Zelda, in heaves name what are you doing down here, and with him?" Zelda giggled and she stood up. Link got up also and took hold of Zelda's hand again. Zelda shrugged her shoulders. She had to think of something fast. She was not about to tell one of the clothes washers she had just taken a trip down the laundry shoot.

"We..." Zelda said but she started laughing at the look on the maids face. She tried to say something again but she ended up hiding her face on Links shoulder, not being able to stop laughing. If the maid had looked away from them for a moment she might have been able to make up something good.

"Would you believe us if we said we felt dirty?" Link said and the maid narrowed her eyes. Link guessed that look meant `no'. "Okay, we were looking for Zelda's...Pink bra."

"Do I need to ask why?" The maid said and crossed her arms, Zelda hit Link lightly and he smiled at her then looked back up at the maid. Link then pulled a sack of rupees out of his pocket. He tossed them to the maid. "Buy those shoes you've always wanted, but don't tell the king that we felt dirty, or...er...looking for her bra."

"Oh hush!" Zelda said , with the maid smiling the two ran out of the room and headed for the shaft. They ran threw the passage way, and around a few corners before they found the shaft they were looking for.

"You know what she was thinking right?" Link laughed out loud as they clamored into the shaft. Zelda shook her head they laughed out loud.

"If your thinking what I'm thinking then I think she though what you were thinking," Zelda said as she started to pull on the `up' rope. "Come on come on!"

"Up, up, up!" Link chanted as they started to move towards the top floors. The wind rushed past them as the top floor was coming closer. "We were not being dirty at all today."

"Link were never dirty," Zelda added and Link shrugged his shoulders.

"True. `Cause I'd never take advantage of a pretty lady, or, in this case a Princess," Link said and Zelda hugged him. "And I would not be looking for your bras either."

"Thats why, I..."

"You what?" Link asked as Zelda's sudden stop in the middle of a sentence. That was something else very rare. She would only stop if she was interrupted. Or did not want to say what she was going to say. Link liked to hear what she had to say. Heck, he liked being around her no matter what. He rubbed her back gently as he waited for her to speak up again.

"I enjoy being around you," Zelda squeezing him tighter. She was going to say the other three word all mighty famous sentence, but she was in a lifting shaft. Not the place in time she wanted to say her all might sentence to Link. The Lifter shaft came to a stop, Link opened a small gate so they could get out and head towards the kings Chamber. Link looked at the princess and knew thats not what she was going to say. Just by the simple tone in her voice.

He'd try and get it our of her later. He hugged her tightly once more, as the two stopped to see who was there to greet them at the entrance or exit of the Lifter.

"You two leave before me and I still get here first," Impa said and Zelda tried to hide her smile but it looked like she was eating one of those super sour lemons. Link waved to Impa and she waved back making them both look a little childish.

"Long story, very long story, can't chat have a king to see!" Link said as he patted Impa on her shoulder. Impa then flicked Links nose as she got out of the way knowing the two would soon be running off to see the king.

"Well it's not that long of a story, but you know," Zelda said biting her bottom lip. "In a hurry lets go Link!"

"Hurry you have, twenty seconds," Impa said as she started to walk towards the kings chamber, waving to the them. The two shared a quick glance.

"Thats more then enough time!" Link said as him and Zelda sprinted past Impa and down a large corridor. They trued right, then Link jumped into the first door slamming it open. He let go of Zeldas hand and she rushed in and got to her knees in front of her father. Link left the door open knowing Impa was coming and bent down net to Zelda. He could here Zelda trying to control her laughed and it made him smile trying not to laugh himself.

The King looked at the two who were bowed before him. He lifted his eye brows then looked out the window, the sun now had fully set. HE then looked at his daughter then to link. The King was in is best dinner outfit and he looked very wise and keen in it as well. He stood up from his seat then walked back and forth, once he noticed neither one of them was going to say a word. He though it would be in his best interest to start the conversation.

"Glade of you to join us, Zelda I though I requested you home sooner?" The king asked, as he looked at both His daughter and Link as they stayed bowed down. Little did he know they were not about to stand up until the got control over themselves.

The King crossed his arms, it was not normal for the two of them to stay down this long. Link more of less got back to his feet the second he got down on his knees. He then walked up to them, with a worried expression his face then he turned and walked back over to his chair. He sat down and started tapping his hands on the arm of the chair.

"Many great sorry's my father, I wanted to go to the Kokiri Village with Impa father," Zelda said still not looking up, she knew her father was going to command them to get up sooner or latter. So she was pushing down her laughter as quickly as she could.

"Really now, what did I send Impa to give to the Great Deku tree?" The King asked, He smiled, but of course the two of them did not see him so they though he was being Serious. He knew she was spending every last moment with Link as she could. Link normally dropped her off in front of the bridge, so not to be trapped in the Castle town all night. Because the King did not want Link to stay in the castle, at all. Not like he did not like the boy, he just did not want him hanging around at night time.

"Extra plant seeds," Link whispered to Zelda and she nodded. Link knew Zelda was gain control of herself, and he did not want her to have a late reaction answering her fathers question or he might giving them another one of his famous speeches. Link always wondered how much free time this man had on his hands to think up all this stuff.

"Extra plant seeds oh honorable father," Zelda repeated what Link said but louder so her father could hear. Then King sighed as Impa walked in the room. She looked up at the King and he looked over at her.

"Is this true Great Impa?" The King asked the two guessed that Impa had just walked in the room. Impa got down on her knee. Then stood up after a moment, she looked at Link and Zelda and only could image why the two were still down.

"Yes it is, Great help Princess Zelda was, could not have done it with out her sir. I take full responsibility of her...coming on time..." Impa said rubbing her head. "Sorry she was not home early."

"Next time when I ask her to come on EARLY please make sure she does. At least she was back before night fall. Link, Great Impa please escort yourself down to the dinning hall, I have matters I must talk about with my daughter. We'll be down for dinner, and Link on more thing before you go, please dress some what nice, Important guest are coming tonight," The King said, Impa stood waiting for Link to get up so she could shut the door and Leaven the king a princess to chat.

"All right sir! Anything you say is my will!" Link said as he jumped to his feet and turned away from the king. "See you at dinner Zelda." He bit down his lip and walked towards the door as quickly as he could with out running.

"You might want to bit a little harder Link I think your going to crack," Impa whispered and Link stepped out side the room. "See you at dinner King," She bowed again and the king bowed back to her. She stepped out side of the doors shutting them. Link gave Impa a thumbs up, but she left towards the elevator shaft with out saying a word to Link.

"You may rise now Zelda, your not a peasant," The King said, Zelda took in a deep breath before standing up. Zelda looked at her father, she smiled inside, she had great control over herself now. She felt ready to take on anything her father was about to say or do. She took in a deep breath.

"I just wanted to show respect," Zelda said walking over and taking a seat next to her father. Normally, she just came and checked in with them. Then she either went to her room our out in the gardens with Impa. The on those rear occasions she'd walk around the halls of the castle, looking at the pictures of the past kings and queens. The people who she wished to meet but never could. But she never once saw the picture of the King, who ruled over Hyrule before her father. They were not related to that king in any way. But she still thought it would be nice if they had a picture of him some where.

Once she had brought it up to a maid walking by, the maid had told her never to speak of it again and defiantly not to bring it up to the King or Impa. With such great fear in the woman's voice, Zelda never did. She would just make up her own stories on why he was not on the walls and what was so scary about him.

"Your almost twenty years old Zelda, I should be in higher respect for the one who will take over when I'm gone," He said and Zelda turned her head the other way and looked out the window. The number twenty just made her want to laugh. She had herself in control but that number was just funny at this moment in time. `Oh why did Impa had to tell us we had twenty seconds left' Zelda though, she had practice ever sence she was born, self control, but it was extremely hard when hang around or thinking about Link.

"Yeah whoa twenty, can hardly believe it," Zelda said like it was some priceless gift she was receiving. Becoming twenty was a big step in becoming a king or queen. So much stuff was going to be passed on to her. From the families long ago. She's have much, much more responsibilities. She's have to start going to every meeting her father attend. Takes notes on how he acted on the meetings, not only with the Gorons, Gerudos and Zora leaders. But from the out countries she had never see before.

She'd get less time with Link, Impa and almost everyone else. Twenty now that she though about it was not going to be fun. It did not even make her laughed anymore. But there would be no way Link or Impa could attend these meetings with her. Do to mind reading, Impa was not allowed to go. And Link, was considered common, the only way he'd be able to go was if she married him.

"You need a king darling, look at me, you know how hard it is to rule a kingdom alone," This made Zelda forget about truing twenty and all the things she's have to do. The though of her mother washed away her good feelings and made her feel sad. She had never seen her mother. She did not even know what her mothers name was.

The one time she had brought it up to her father. He was so choked up with tears he could not speak for three days. And the topic had put in such a depressive mood she was forced to take over the kingdom for three weeks. So now she never even though of bring it up to her father. He was old now and she was scared the topic my lead him to his grave.

Wither her father out of the role of talking to her about her mother, the next person she went to asked as Impa. Being her fathers advisor and close friend. But Impa went in more of a depression mood then her father had. It was the most horrible time in her life. Impa was well more kept then her father was. But you could tell by her actions and movements that she was extremely depressed. That also did not last as long as Zelda's fathers depression. Impa went on a journey for a few days, when she came back, she was fine and ready to take her job back.

"Daddy I know, with all do respect father I don't think you'll like any guy I chose to marry," Zelda said, witch was true. The King kept pushing her to marry someone, but every time a marriage proposal came in the mail he tore it up after reading it to her. Zelda was a bit scared to bring up Link, sence he was not a letter her father might try and rip him up into pieces.

"Zelda you are a wise one," The king chuckled patting Zelda on her head. He flattened her hair and looked at the teaira that she had on her head. It was really the true mark of the queen. But sence he had no queen, and nothing for a princess to wear, he gave her the one the belonged to the queens.

"So that means I can marry whom ever I'd like?" Zelda popped the question why her dad was at a weak moment. This was another question Zelda was afraid to ask. Someone once asked her father if the could kill what ever they wanted and he went in a ranting tangent. Her father could either be the kindest person in the world or the meanest.

Zelda laid back in her chair with hopeful eyes looking up at her father. But his expression was nothing to be hopeful for. Zelda sighed and sat up right again waiting for him to say the most hated two letter word she could think of.

"No."

"No! But you just said....or meant..." Zelda said but then stopped, it was no use to fight with him. She could not win once his mind was sent on something.

"Zelda I don't want you to marry anyone like that Link Character, I mean he's a Hero an all but I don't think he'd ever be ready to take on the role as a king, he still acts like a Child," The King said and Zelda sighed heavily. How did she know he was going to use Link as an example of who not to marry. Her father just knew hoe to his the right spots. "Do you want to Marry him?" The king asked hearing her sighing. Thats only meant one thing to the king, she was displeased with what he had said.

"Well see thats the thing, I was asking because, if ever he was to ask...I," Zelda said then looked at her father. She saw the worry in his eyes. All he wanted was the good of Hyrule and so did she. She did not think would be a half bad leader. HE already was loved around. more love sometimes then Zelda would like. But he was faithful to her, she had never seen him with anther girl like that. He talked to other girls like she talked to other men. He would stand by her side and she loved it. "I'd say yes..."

"Zelda do you even love him?" The King asked. What he was most worried that Zelda would not marry for love. He did not really know his daughter as well as Impa or Link did. He was not sure if his daughter would just marry anyone just because. He grabbed her hand and squeezed it. He wanted some one to love her as much as he loved his wife. He also wanted the best for his daughter.

"I don't want to say I love anyone unless they love me in return," Zelda explained, and the king smiled. She was wise aright. More then anyone knew. But that really did not answer his question so he tried the best way to get around it, but kind of ask the same question. He wanted an answer.

"He does love you?"

"I don't know, he sort of implied it," Zelda tilted her head to the side, not only that but they kind of had been kissing a few times today. She hoped that meant he loved her. Or at least he felt the same for her as she did for him.

"Sort of Implied it?" The King asked, talking to women sometimes was like talking to a wall. He let go of Zelda's had and patted her head again. He sure hoped she knew what she was getting herself into. Love could be a good thing, and it could be a very bad thing as well.

"Well I said `either you hate me or you love me' and he said `I don't hate you' so I'm guess he loves me but I don't want to jump to any conclusions, lead to a fake rode or heart ach or...the dark path," Zelda said she did not want to tell her father what she really told Link witch was `either you want to kill me or love me,' that might scare him and she did not want to send him to an early grave. Or getting him on a yelling tangent on how no one should want to kill the Princess. Zelda stood up and looked out the window again. She closed her eyes and remember the kiss Link had planted on her why they were at the bridge. That had been her first real kiss from Link. Besides when he kisses her hand of forehead.

"You like putting men in tight spots done you Zelda," The king said and Zelda turned towards him. He took her hand and motioned for her to sit back down. Zelda took her seat again.

"Me putting men in tight spots?" Zelda asked rather shocked. That was a new one. Well at least he had not started yelling yet. She thought about what he said and was utterly confused.

"Well thats a little harsh don't you think, either you hate me or you love me, your not giving him much of a choice. Like pushing him to love you. Not all Hero's love the Princesses you know. This might be those rare occasions where he...umm likes the girl who works that the Lon Lon Ranch. I mean he goes there often am I right?" The King said and Zelda stared at the floor. Was she really putting Link in a tight spot, she douted that he liked Malon. She was just a friend. Was it that one weird occasion. She closed her eyes, shoe she had something else to worry about besides the legends. This was not a good day.

"I guess," Zelda said and the King patted her back. She just said that to please her father. Now she felt the need to question Link. He might get mad at her, but her father had just added to her worry list. The two of them never really said they loved each other. Zelda really wanted to. But she was just so scared he would not love her back.

"Don't feel bad, now go get ready for dinner, I have a guest to speak to," The king said and Zelda stood up once again but this time she was not going to sit back down. Zelda walked away from her father and towards the door.

"All right, see you at dinner then," Zelda said as she walked out of the room. Karzon was standing outside and Zelda figured he was the guest her father wanted to talk to. He bowed to her but Zelda was in no mood to do it back. She started walking towards her room. She did not want to take her mood out of Karzon who had done nothing to her today. But her mind was on Link. Zelda turned the corner and to her surprise Link grabbed on to her arm. She looked at him and smiled slightly. He pulled her close to him but she kind of rejected it and forced herself away.

"Ah no, did he yell at you?" Link asked seeing the expression on her face and by her actions. She looked up at him and he was about to ask, then what went wring, But she spoke up before he could opened his mouth again.

"No, I have a question for you."

"Ask away." Link said, he went to push his hand on her shoulder but she brushed it off. Now he was really worried. He put his hands on his hips. Zelda ran her ringers threw her long blond hair. She did not want to bother him about her stupid worries. But this worry involved him.

"Do I push you to do things?" She asked, and Links expression turned like he was going to start to laugh. But sence she was serious, he deiced not to laugh. Zelda stopped messing with her hair, but locked her eyes on Link. This could determine on or two things.

"What ever do you mean, the only think you push me to do is go to the Kokiri Village, thats about it...can I ask why?" Link answered her question a bit baffled. Zelda was a bout to scream out in joy, but she held it in for the explanation.

"Well my father said I was pushing you to like me, he thinks you like Malon," Zelda said wanting to laugh out load.

"Malon is my friend, I can have girls as friends right?" Link asked, "And Zelda, no one is pushing me to like you, maybe trying to get me not to like you, but I like you." He added, Zelda embraced him, but then quickly let go as another question arose to her mind.

"Just like me...as a friend...?" She said, trying to make it seam like it was the best thing in the world. Even though it would be extremely hard just to be friends with the person she loved.

"Ha ha are you kidding?" Link laughed as he shook his head side to side. Then he started to worry that Zelda just wanted to be friends with him.

"Do you mean that in a good way or a bad way?" Zelda popped the next quest.

"Zelda, do you think were just friends?" Link added in quickly. It was good to hear her opinions before he spat out his own. Zelda cupped her hands together and tough threw of all the things she had ever done with link for these past ten, eleven years.

"Well we never did anything or said anything to make us more then friends..." Zelda said, that was only half true though. She honestly would not go around kissing her friends the way she kissed link. Zelda saw Links expression change and that meant one thing. He totally disagreed with what she had just said.

"Zelda do you walk around kissing your friends? Do you see me walking around kissing Malon, or Talon...ewww...nasty though..." Link said covering his eyes. Zelda wanted to laugh again, but the conversation with her father, then thinking about her mother, took most of the laughter out of her right now.

"Okay so maybe we do one thing..." Zelda said and Link uncovered his eyes and looked at her very astonished by what she said. Zelda kept pushing him, because she wanted to know what he thought couples would do, maybe even lovers.

"One thing? Thats all you give me credit for one thing...thanks a lot Princess," Link said crossing his arms. Zelda rolled her eyes then sighed, he only defiantly called her `princess' when he was on the verge of becoming upset.

"So there was more you did with em but nothing a couple would do," (This is another time you are not allowed to think perverted!!!) Zelda said as she took of hold Link's sleeve and started messing with the loss string. She was going to have to mend his shirt again.

"Nothing a couple would do? Zelda, I took you on boat rides at sunset, got yelled at though. WE walk around together hand in had might I add. We go to carnivals together, I take you shopping for crying out load. What more can I do?" Link asked, "I know you don't want to have sex with me....right...?"

"Link not that FAR!" Zelda blushed deeply turning away from him. "Your so right, not ready to be a Mommy yet!"

"Sorry I..umm embarrassed you...just trying to make a point," Link said and Zelda looked back at him. Now they were at least in the same book. He had to be the perfect guy, he just had to be.

"No your right I'm in the wrong...just my dad wants me to get married, with this and the thing early...my head is killing me," Zelda said. "Thats why you know, I know what we do and how we act are what couple would do. I just wanted to know if you though about it the same way I did.

"You dad wants you to get married already?" Link asked and she nodded. She hugged again before she was abut to bring up the next topic. He rubbed her back, he knew this conversation was far from over. He just was wandering how far this was going to get.

"Yes and he does not think your suited to marry me..." Zelda explained. Link knew sooner of later this was going to come up. He leaned his head gently on Zelda's.

"Is that why your questioning me all of a sudden?"

"Well yes and, I just wanted to know if you...You..." Zelda said, she was getting choked up on that three letter sentence again. She sighed, for being a princess, she though at least she's be able to tell link she loved him.

"Love you?" Link finished for her, she smiled even though he could not see it.

"Yeah...." Zelda said, she just wanted to go to sleep right now. Her mind was cloudy, but her heart wanted to stay right here with Link.

"Do you love me?" Link asked, it was stupid to ask the question. He never really though he had to go around asking people if they loved him or not.

"........" Zelda bit down her lip. Why could she not answer, all she had to say now was `yes.' but it did not seam like it wanted to come out. She wished Link was a Shika so he could just read her mind already and stop this torture she was going threw.

"Zelda? Do you?" Zelda bit her bottom lip. She looked up at Link, she wanted to answer the question but it was burning inside. Why did she calm up when she was around him. She could not even say the word love.

"I...well...do you love me?" Zelda asked trying to get out of him asking her that question.

"I asked you first."

"Well no I did, I just did not Finnish the sentence," Zelda said crossing her arms and a small smile came to her face. She liked to tease him, or out smart her hero. Link Crossed his arms as well, looking down at Zelda.

"Zelda you know I do-"

"What do I know?" She had to make him say it. She was starting to wonder if he was feeling the way she did when he asked her. The burning feeling the makes you clamp up inside and not say want you want to.

"Why do you think I came back?" Link said as he touch Zeldas face. Zelda Closed her eyes to remember that day so many years ago. He had never told her the real reason why he came back, but now she had a pretty good idea.

Link had saved Hyrule all right, but when he did, the places was in shambles. Almost everyone had been killed. Homes destroyed, even the castle was a mess. The only way to reveres what had happened was for Link to leave behind everything. The friends he made, everything that happened after he picked up the master sword. Everyone was saved but no one knew of the deed he had done.

He became a hero, because only himself, Navi and the seven sages remembered what had happened. And sence both Zelda and Impa were sages, they spread the word. Darunia, the Goron leader, knew and so did Ruto. Then Nabaro the Gerudo leader was a sage as well. So the Deed of what Link had done was spread threw out the Land.

Zelda had though for sure she would never see him again. He had to give up a lot to be with her. Even his Fairy Navi had left back to the forest. Zelda hugged him again.

"You mean after you returned the Master Sword and trapped Ganon?"

"Yes...I left them all, thats why it's hard to go back...I came back for you," Link said, she did not know why she was pushing him to say it, she knew he loved her. He did have a point. But she had to hear it from him, not what she though or felt. "They could never forgive me Zelda, and I understand why. I'm willing to live with it for you."

"Then tell me...."

"For crying out loud Zelda! Where have you been!"

"Why, why does this always happened to us!! What is that like number three four times today!" Zelda cursed slightly, she was get extremely annoyed from all these disruptions. "What is it Mina?" Zelda said as she let Link go and formed her hands into fist. She never thought this could happened to someone. Being disrupted every given moment. The worst thing in the world about having the title of Princess.

"You have to get ready for dinner! Your not going looking like that," Mina said and Link mouth the words `I think you look just fine' He said and Zeldas face went a bright pink. Out of all the days, fate had to mess around with her life today.

"I know how to get ready for dinner!" Zelda snapped and link laughed lightly at his annoyed princess. Zelda brushed off her dress and gave Mina a sharp look. Zelda was starting to wonder how people got those really scary expression that made them do what ever you wanted. She wanted to go and learn how to do that. It might come in real handy when she became Queen.

Zelda was even more frustrated, because she was more the sure her father had sent Mina out. Zelda had proved may times she knew how to dress herself. When ever her father knew she was not doing what she was spouse to he sent out Mina.

"I'll take her to her room Mina," Link suggest, resting his arm around Zelda's shoulder. Maybe if he had not done that Mina might have changed her mind.

"Like Hell you'll take the Princess to her room! You get going," Mina pointed in the opposite direction on where she was going to take Zelda. Link laughed letting go of Zelda. He clapped his hands together then turned his back to Mina.

"Fine I see when I'm not wanted, I'll see you at dinner Zelda-"

"Were not done with this conversation Link," Zelda said as Mina started to pull her away. Zelda looked towards Link who still had his back to them. Zelda smiled as he looked over his shoulder and waved a little. "Mina whats the hurry?"

"Thank you Mina...." Link whispered ever so softly, He really did like Zelda but now was not the time he wanted to tell her. And with the king rushing her to do things, she was starting to become like him. Thats the one thing Link did not want to do, marry some one like Zelda's father. He was starting to hope she'd turn back into the fun loving little girl he came back for.

He felt the tension when she turned the corner. Like he felt when Zelda came home a few minutes late. Zelda might not be afraid to turn Twenty. But Link was horrified. He used to think thirteen was a bad luck number, that was his best year. He only had a few more months before he turned twenty. Then a few days after his birthday, was Zeldas.

He had always attend the Princesses birthday, but however, her twentieth birthday, he was going to skip. Not only dud the part last for three days. He could not see himself spending that much close time with the king. He had went to one of the planning's for Zelda's party. He broke down in tears and had to leave. The truth of the matter was, he was not ready to get married. The King was right on one part.

Maybe if Zelda was not a princess he would have been more willing to marry at twenty. But he's become a prince and when they both turned twenty-five, he'd become a king. He'd have to stick around the castle. Defiantly not go out at night time. Witch was one of his favorite things to do, just to bother the Skull kids. He'd be watched almost all the time. He need his free space, his freedom and he need his adventures. Even though most of the time he was trying to help Anju with her cucco problems.

Most of all he did not want to be treated like a king. He did not want people to bend down and kiss his feet every time he walked bay. He did not want Talon to stop smacking him across head every time Talon though he was looking at Malon or Zelda the wrong way. He still wanted Ingo to treat him like trash.

Link walked over and pushed opened a window. He needed some fresh air from all his thoughts. He was now looking out onto the small castle garden. Thats had been the very spot he met Zelda and Impa for the first time. When he was wondering around trying to find a way to get in to see the princess and give her the Spiritual stone of the Forest. Link sighed as he looked around, when he was boy, first started on his quest to Save Hyrule, the Great Deku tree had given him a fairy called Navi. But when he placed the master sword back down Navi left back to Kokiri Village. He missed his little fairy partner, growing up was hard being called the boy with no fairy with the other Kokiri children. Yet another factor why he did not want to return to the forest.

As these thoughts floated across Links mind as he heard a very familiar tune. The soft music, he remember this tune all to well. Impa had tough it to him before he went off to find the Second spiritual stone, up on Death mountain where the Gorons lived. Link climbed up on the window seal and started to scale the walk down into the garden.

Impa sat on the steps of the platform with her hands cupped over her mouth. She was playing Zelda's lullaby. Her mother had tough it to her and her grandmother to her mother. Each generation passed on they would add a little more to the song. Impa, having no children played the song for Zelda in hope she would pass it one when ever she had kids. And Impa though that, that day was not to far off.

"Hey Impa!" Link yelled.

"Holy shi- Oh, you...what they hell are you doing?" Impa asked Link as he was hanging upside down in front of her face. She glared at him, when ever she was alone, he seamed to be the one to come and bug her. His company was not always a great honor. Link had the kind of sprit, the bugged her, maybe cause it seamed he was always happy.

"Your getting old! You did not even seance I was coming," Link Crossed his arms still hanging up side down. He shook his finger at her like she was little kid who had just stolen a cookie before dinner. He looked at him hanging in front of her and though how in the world this boy did what he did half the time.

"How'd did you-?"

"Get up here? I climbed out the window. Do you think Zelda is starting to act like her dear old father?" Link asked, he uncrossed his arms and flipped over and landed on his feet a few steps in front of Impa. Impa smiled, then put her hand in front of her moth to keep from laughing. It appeared that he was having girl problems again. He came to her a lot when he was worried about a girl.

"Don't worry Lover boy, Zelda is nothing like her father...thats what scares me," Impa said, he had different view the Link did on how she should act when she became twenty. Link stood up and walked down the remaining steps. He jumped over the last one and landed on the grass. He then headed towards the small river like thing that circled the garden.

"Geezee...I forgot when the last time I looked at my reflection, or the last time I came in this garden," Link said as he studied himself. He pushed his hair out of his face and started to pat out his wrinkled clothes.

"Child, did you forget your growing up? Of course your going to look different, maybe thats why your scared Link, scared of Change. Your always going to be the Hyrule hero, Zeldas always going to love you, your always going to bother me and give me five second heart attacks, if you did not want to grow up Link you should have never left the Kokiri Village," Impa said, she felt like an advice giver a lot. But the only thing that bugged her about it was no one took it to heart. Or forgot the next day what she had said. Impa got up from he seat and walked over to Link.

"I'm not scared to change...." Link stopped as he though about the legend Karzon had told them about the hero destroying Hyrule. "I guess I am."

"Link the only people your going to hurt are the ones who need it, why do you bring up that legend now? I though it was not bothering you?" Impa said, as she looked at her own reflection. She hated getting older. If there was a way for her to stay young for the rest of her days, she'd love it. She just felt that people paid more attention to her when she looked like them. Around their age rang.

"How'd-" Impa waved her hand in front of his face and a tingle ran up his spine. She smiled as link shivered like he was suddenly zapped into the snow.

"I know."

"You Shika's I swear," Link said after then tingling went away. She had read his mind, he knew it and really did not care. He was not really hiding anything or there was nothing he did not know that he did not want to tell Impa.

"Your not going to get ready for dinner are you?" Impa asked laughing as Links thoughts went into her own. This boy, was the funniest one she had ever met in her life, bugged her a lot but he sure was funny. Impa was not about to go get ready for dinner either. She hated dressing up. She liked her armor, she hated dresses and those funny shoes they made her wear. Once was enough and Link never let that go.

"No-"

"I'm not going to make you so don't worry, you can forget those thoughts," Link frowned then stuck his tongue out and Impa who was still laughing. Link bet down and cupped his hands in the water. HE brought the crystal, cool water up, then splashed it on his face. "You lead in interesting life young warrior. My version of becoming a sage is nothing link your adventure. And I though my journey to Hyrule was a great adventure."

"You went back that far?" Link said shaking his head to dry his face. Thats as much as he was going to do for the dinner.

"I can go back to the day you had your first though link, the first dream you ever had. I can find it all," Impa smiled and Link crossed his arms. Impa then covered her mouth, she knew she should not have told him that.

"Impa...could you do me a favor?" Link asked as he kicked a rock into the pound and the droplets from the splash came up and hit his and Impas feet. Impa sighed sadly, she already knew what he wanted. Of course she did, she just read his mind. Link Had forgotten what his mother looked like, saying he was an infant when she died he would not remember. But it was still locked deep with in his mind. When Impa read peoples minds, she did not take in every single fact they knew. She just found what she wanted and left.

She would never really invade Links personal thoughts unless it was important for her to know. She never really went back to the day he was born. Nor did she want to. Looking threw the eyes of a baby was not something she wanted to do. Though she always wondered what Links parents were like. To have their son the way he was now.

"Are you sure you want to know? Some things are better left forgotten Link," Impa said, she knew that first hand. She had forgotten a lot of things that happened when she arrived at Hyrule. She had remember the importune things. But everything else, with all her power, she had made herself forget.

"But I...I never got to know her, please Impa," Link asked looking towards the Shika. Impa also found out why reading his mind that he had wanted to ask her to do this for him for the longest time but he never knew how to ask. Impa felt bad for him but for him to see his thoughts again was very dangerous.

Along with her mind reading power, she had the power to take someone back to that memory. Only the greatest shikas knew how to do that. And she, had learned it. She though it would be a great gift, to take people back to see what they've missed or forgotten. But when one of her fellow Shika's had done it to her, only then she realized that things, were better forgotten.

"Link your life could be in grave danger, and think of what the Princess would do you me if you were killed," Impa winked but Link did not smile. He had finally brought up the topic to her and he was not going to drop it.

"...please..."

"All right but I warned you...." Impa said, Heroes these days though they could do whatever they want and live threw it. But Impa was going to try her hardest not to lose Link. She had only done this once. And it was with the King. She'd take the souls of the person and put them in the memory they wanted the most. The further back and more forgotten the memory was, the harder it was. With the King he just wanted to see his dead wife again. Witch was only 19 years in his past witch was not much. But going back to the day they were born was quite a challenge.

Impa also told herself she would never do it again after the encounter with the king. The Queen had been on of her most dearest friends she had ever had. That had to be the hardest thing she had tried to do. She never wanted to see the Kings old wife ever again. But looking at Link, there was no way he could have know those people she lost, the chance was so slime. Thats the only reason why she had thought mentally that she should do this for link. Well, Impa should have read his mind first threw, before agreeing to do this.

"Impa I have faith in you, you wont lose me. Your the Greatest Shika," Link said and Impa eyed him. She knew he was not trying to kiss up just to take him there. She did not have to read his mind to know how much he looked up to her. Shows why he constantly bugged her.

"Butt kissing latter link. Now please try to free your mind from everything," Impa said as she placed her hands on the side of Links head. The first step, he had gotten stronger sence the last time she had done this, she hoped it would work. "This might hurt a little but try not to move around. It makes it a lot harder that way."

"Trust me Impa I've been threw worse..." Link said as he closed his eyes. Impa laughed inside, thats what he though of course. She had done this, and had it done to her, it was not a joy ride. Quite scary it was.

"All right, Hero," Impa said as she closed her eyes as well. The darkness covered the both of them as Impa's magic started to work. Even if Link wanted to, now he could not open his eyes. Colors of blue, purple and red rushed passed him in the darkness. Link felt like he was falling. Falling a dark back pit with occasional colors swimming by. `don't worry Link your safe' he heard Impa's voice but it seamed so distance. So far away, even though he knew she was standing right in front of her. Link then started to feel light headed and his body became transparent. He kept thinking `Impa's right in front of me, Impa's right in front of me, she wont let anything bad happen to me.' It gave him more courage and hope, more then he ever though he had trapped within his heart.

"Whats happening to me...?" Link asked his voice was being to fade as well. `Link, Your soul is getting ready to enter your memory, please don't worry, and clear your mind or well be stuck like this until you do.' Impa warned link. He nodded slightly not even knowing if Impa could see him or not. He knew if she could not see it she could feel it. He tried his hardest to clear his mind of all his thoughts, all his dreams all his hopes. It was rather quite hard but he felt like he was managing quite nicely. Early today he would have never dreamed to ask Impa to take him far into his memory. But with all the sudden change, and Karzon showing up. He felt like his life was about to end. He had to do the things he was afraid of doing now, before the legend came true.

That feeling of his life was coming to an end had not really came up until he looked into the river. He hardly recognized himself. He was frightened to change. Ever more, or Zelda's change,

The lights started swirling around him, faster and faster. More colors added in with the rest and it seamed he had stopped falling. Then the blackness disappeared and a vast open filed appear before him. He was still transparent and a little light headed but at least there was more then darkness. Link moved his leg, and found it to be quite hard like walking around with the iron boots on.

"But I don't want to run!" a woman screamed up at a man on a white horse. She was holding a bundle in her arms and Link was almost to afraid to find out what it was. as the Woman yelled at the man for not wanting to Run, Link slowly made his way over to the two of them. He had guessed right, the bundle was him of course. The two people screamed back and forth but the baby stayed asleep in his mothers arms like everything in the world was all right.

"You don't understand foolish woman you'll be killed along with that rat of a child of yours!" The man said smacking the woman across her face. The Woman stumbled backwards cursing as the pain not only ran threw her face but her whole body. Her brown hair gliding across her shoulders as she looked back at the man. Her hair was kind of curly at he tips and it bearly reached pasted her shoulders. She also had gleaming blue eyes that were as light as the sky, she was very pretty with almost pale Skin. It did not seam like she had gone out in the sun for a long while. Link she was a house person. She had on what appeared to be rags, ripped torn up and dirty. But as Link examined her more closely he found out they were not rages but a priceless blue dress that appeared to been ripped up. She must have gotten in a fight or had been wearing that dress for more then one day. The dress reminded him of the one Zelda had on this afternoon when they were running around in the fields with Epona.

Link took a step back from the two people. It had to be the dress that Zelda had on. But this one was in shreds. She must have been someone of importance to once have had a dress like that. He then realized that the war was going on right about now. The time right before he was taken to the Great Deku tree. That would explain why she was in shambles. She might have gotten stuck in one of the fights.

Link looked up at the man on the horse. He was defiantly from the Hyrule castle. He had sharp blond hair with dark jade green eyes. He looked like he was very important in the country of Hyrule. Just by the way he was dressed and the easy he sat upon the horse boosting himself. Almost, king like. He had on shinny armor and had the Triforce carved on the front of it The horse also looked very well kept. The people at the Lon Lon Ranch did a good job of keeping horses but the servants at the Hyrule castle over did their well keeping. They treated the horses as if they were really truly part of the Royal family.

"How dare you call your son a rat!" The woman snapped at him again and he turned his head from her. Link had figured the man was one of importance but he never imaged his father looking like that. Or being curl to his mother. First he had smacked her, then he called Link a rat. Link frowned thats not the kind of father he was hoping to have.

"Shut up! Woman, my true son comes," The man yelled putting his arm up, indicating if she said another word she'd be slapped again. The woman did not say another word but she had the nastiest look on her face. If she would have had anything else with her but her baby she would have threw it at the man. Link looked off in the distance as another horse rider was coming their direction, and rather quickly. But there was something wrong with this rider, he had blond hair as well, but Link could not tell anything else about the rider. The horse was bloody and looked like it had a few arrows sticking out of it's side. The rider, looked no better. The riders skin was covered with blood, the armor he had on was ripped appear like he had a good right with a Dragon. There was a few arrows stuck in this young lad as well, just like the horse.

"Father...." The boy called out as he reached his hand out to the man on the horse.

"My son!" The man yelled and kicked the horse to get it moving. He rode the horse next to the new one. The man grabbed his son before the horse fell down, dead, it had down it's job, now it was time for it's ever long lasting death. "What happened?"

"Ganon....is attacking the castle. I was sent...to give this to you. Father..." The boy said then took a letter from his pocket. He appeared to be only about fifteen years old. Though his bloods and cuts made his seam older. Link could tell that this boy was going to bleed to death. There was no way he could live looking like that unless he got instant medical care right away. But they really did not look like it was going to happen. He leaned against his father, as he pulled out a small ring, along with the letter. "Now that, I have....my mission, I'm free to die..."

"My son! You can't die!" The man yelled, Link walked over to the man on the horse and looked at the ring. His eyes widened in shock, the ring. That ring was the one Zeldas father never took off. The Royal ring that would be passed on to Zelda when she turned twenty next year. One of the few things he had found out at the party discussion he had went to. Even as the man shouted on the horse talking to the boy why he could not die, it did no good, because he did. The man cursed to the sky as he found out it was no use to wake up his dead son. Link though the boy would live a little longer then that. But he also had no idea how long the boy was riding around looking for his father.

"Thats what you get you fool! What comes around goes around!" The woman shouted and Link turned and looked at her again. She was enraged, like she wanted to kill something, or more, kill the man sitting upon the horse. The way she was ready to pounce on the man seamed light she had a wild fighting sprit. The Man turned his attention towards the woman and gave her a look of hatred. They way Link saw these two looking at each other, he wondered who they ever got around to having a kid. "If you were not so egear to get rid of me, kill me and throw me and my baby away, your `true' fucking son would still be alive! But no your to stupid!"

"How dare you talk about my son in such a harming manner!" The Man pulled the arrow out of the boys shoulder and threw it with such speed and accuracy. It went flying towards the woman hitting her in the dead center of her chest, right below her neck. The woman began gasping. He had almost dropped her bundle but held on to it with all her power.

"Ah!" The woman screamed, the baby link who had now began to cry. Her screaming must have woken him up. The woman moved the baby so that her right arm would hold it and her left hand slowly began to pull out the arrow. "You bustard! The Sprit of the Summer is on my side...he shall make sure you DIE!! With your son!"

"Your sprits are nothing to me woman, now go, leave Hyrule, and if I ever see that boy of yours. He shall die," The man said as he kicked off his horse leaving the woman behind. She was going to bleed to death, Link could not be sure if the arrow had hit anything fragile in her body or if it hit one of her bones. But she now looked horrible. All the beauty had been drained form her face. Link watched in horror as the man, his father rode off back to the Hyrule castle. Her had been right that his father had came from there. Non of the nobles from the castle would treat anyone like the way he had treated his wife.

"Bastard..." the woman said softy finally taking the arrow our of her chest. She tossed the arrow to the ground then started heading in the direction of the Kokiri village. She then put her other hand under her crying son. She started humming a song to the baby but she had not the strength and would trail off the humming into gasping for air. The woman tightened her grip on her baby as she almost fell over. She was begging to get dizzy. Link followed slowly behind her, he kind of felt like her, having problems walking around. The great Deku tree had told him his mother had brought him to him when she was about to die. But Link never imaged that his mother would have been killed my his father. He had countless dreams that Ganon had killed his mother. The dark flames as he was told by the Deku Tree.

Before getting even near the forest entrance the woman fell down to her knees. She put the baby down on the grass and started coughing up blood. Link was even surprised she made it this far, she had a strong will. She was also very courageous, Link know new where he had received his courage from. The baby link started crying once again and the woman smiled slightly.

"My son...I can't make it further then this," She said, she reached into a pouch she had around her shoulder and pulled out a dagger. Link was shocked to see she had a dagger. She must have been even braver then she looked if she had not pulled it out on the man. It showed that she still loved him some where in her heart. Even after throwing an arrow into her chest. "You shall surly die out here, I'm sorry this...is as far as Mommy can go." The baby kept crying as the woman looked at the dagger.

"Just like your father....you never shut up!" The woman screamed and she trusted the dragger into the ground and the baby stopped crying. If link was not standing here watching this he would have though that surly his mother had killed him. Link walked over and leaned next to his mother. There were now tears streaming down her face as she started whispering she was sorry to the Summer sprit she had mentioned to the man. The Woman then bent down and kissed her baby on it's head.

"Ma'am!" Link looked up to see two people running towards his mother, they were both dressed in black cloaks. They also both had cloths covering their mouths.

"Shikas!" She smiled happy as the tallest out of the two shikas got to his mother first. His mother must have been , familiar with Shikas. But her vision was blurry and she could not tell who the shikas were.

"Pomdima! What are you doing out here?" The Shika asked as Links mother laid down in then grass. His mother, whom he was guessing her name was Pomdima, smiled, he guessed after hearing their voices his mother knew who the Shikas were.

"Yes, Mistress Pomdima, King Saymmon did this to me, my son, please look after my son," Pomdima said as she coughed up some more blood getting it on the dirt and on the blanket that wrapped up the baby. Her side of her face she was laying on was no covered in her own blood.

"Pomdima!" The Shika said as she pulled off her hood. Link's heart stopped, he almost fell over, died, and got reborn again. The Shika he looked at, her knew her all to well. Her white hair, which he though was because of how old she was, but no there she was with her shiny white hair. Her powerful arms. It was Impa. The other Shika took off her hood, but Link had no idea who she was.

"Great Impa...save my son..." Pomdima said as Impa picked her up and laid her head on her knees. Impa shut her eyes tightly as she saw the bloody arrow hole that was on Pomdima's chest. She bit down on her lip so hard it started to bleed.

"Whats his name?" The other Shika woman asked Pomdima.

"Link....protect....the...." before Pomdima could Finnish she died with a simple laugh, the two Shika women where heart broken. They had been great friends with Pomdima, and this was a horrid sight for them.

"Link, I don't think thats his name," The other Shika said, after the were silent for a moment to honor their dead friends death.

"Zelda, thats the only thing she said, and I don't think his name is Protect or The. we might just as well call him Link, no harm in that name am I right? It's not to uncommon, there are plenty of young men with that name now a days." Impa explained as she laid Pomdima on the grass. Her sprits would have to take care of her now. Links eyes widened, that Shikas name was Zelda as well? He always though Zelda was the only one with that name.

"Ahhh..." Zelda yelled as she held on to her stomach. She bent down screaming in pain. "Impa...I need to get to the Castle town...this pain is killing me..." Zelda, was tall, with the normal Shika outfit on. Her hair was orange and she had bright blue eyes. She looked just as strong as Impa. But Impa was in no pain and Zelda was.

"Zelda, go to your husband in the Hyrule castle town, I will take baby Link somewhere safe, and when I return King Saymmon of Hyrule shall not go un punished for the death of His mistress," Impa said wiping a crystal tear from her eye. Then she touched her lip as she felt the blood run down her chin. Zelda looked at Impa. She shook her head now, she did not want to leave Impa.

"When will you got to the Castle town?" Zelda said as the pain shot threw her body again. She managed to stand up right

"As soon as I can, I shall see you soon friend," Impa said as she picked up the baby Link. "GE tot the castle town, they are the only ones who can help you right now."

"See you soon friend," Zelda said and the two Shika went off in their different directions. Link wanted to fallow Impa, or even fallow Zelda. But his head started to get light again. He felt like a feather and started difting towards the sky. Impa must be taking him out of the memory now. But he did not want to leave, he wanted to learn more. The world around him got dark once again and he was spinning the in the dark pits of his mind. Then suddenly the time stooped and Links eyes flew open. He was breathing heavily. AS his eyes locked on Impa.

"YOU! YOU brought me to the great Deku tree?" Link shouted at Impa. He eyes flew open as well and she let go of Links head. She stepped back like Link had turned into a monster.

"You...your that boy?" Impa said just as shocked as he was. She shook her head then grabbed it. Trying to keep in once piece.

"Who else do you know that has the name Link?" Link asked and Impa started breathing heavily light she was bull. When she was younger she did know quite a few Links. But most of them had died in the war. Then others had moved to the other kingdoms.

"I thought you'd die if I took you to the Great Deku tree! So many had dropped their kids of there and none of them lived!" Impa shouted. "Your horrid father killed one of my best friends! You were a part of that man! Even Pomdima wanted to kill you! Did you not see!"

"And what about the Shika named Zelda?" Link questioned, he was some what happy to be out of his mind and back into the real would where he could walk right. The though of both his parents wanted him dead was something he did not want to think about. So he shot out the next best question that did not involve either one of his parents.

"Thats Princess Zelda's mother! Because of your father I could not be with my apprentice when she died giving birth to the princess! Zelda was the closet person to me and because of your father I could not be with her when she needed me the most. I was stuck with you at the Great Deku tree, I faked my death so the tree would have a story to tell you, so you would not think your mother abandoned you. And when I finally got out of the forest and to the castle town...she was dead!" Impa cried, she had stayed at the great Deku tree for almost a week. If she would have know Zelda was going to have her baby she would have faked her death sooner. But she just wanted to be with her friends son. She really did not want him to die, it was just a strong emotion. Thats why she stuck by him for that week.

"What about my father? He was king!" Link said as he felt his mouth go dry. Not only was he a king, he was a king of Hyrule. Link let out a small yelled as he shook his head. Why was his father a evil king? Why was his life so messed up?

"Yes he was! I killed him! Those legends stories that were told to you! Ganon was not the start of that war! It was your father, Hyrule was under tragedies and the only way to stop it was to de-throne the King. And thats why I was there, I killed your father Link! Not only for the sake or Hyrule, but because he killed the people dearest to me. And sence I told everyone you were killed, and there was no one else left in the family. Zeldas husband became king, just because he was the Mayor of the town. Thats why he is king now..." Impa said and Link saw her eyes full with tears. She turned away from him. She knew she would have to pay the price for taking Link to his past memories.

"So my father was a worthless bustard...." Link said as he got down on his knees. The thing he wanted to know the most, everything he could have ever asked for was nothing more then a nightmare. But if his father was spawned from the pits of evil why was he, Link the Hero of Hyrule? Link, that was not even his real name, something they called him because his mother never said it. He could have been any name, any person, with a different life.

"But it was not your fault...I should not have snapped at you like that," Impa said as she turned back around then bent down next to Link. "That memory is one we both shared, one I long forgotten and never wanted to remember. Your not a worthless bustard like your father Link."

"Please don't tell me Zelda's related to me in any shape or form?" Link asked and Impa sniffed back her tears trying to smile at his question. Link would not know what to do if he was related to his love of his life. The only thing that seamed to matter in his life now.

"No she's not lover boy, you don't have to worry about that. I should never had done that, some Shika magic should not be tampered with, that was a bad idea Link." Impa said as she pushed the bangs out of Links face. "Her family was friends with yours, but your not related to her. That I do know for sure."

"I'll never ask you to do it again," Link said, and Impa did the unexpected thing, she hugged Link tightly. He was shocked, he though Impa hated him right now. But yet she hugged him and cried on his shoulder. She rubbed his back. Pomdima would never want her son dead. She was just so mad at the moment. Impa was so glad she had finally found out her friends son was still alive. And not only that he was a Hero. A great hero, who had gained the respect of Impa. "Impa are you okay?"

"Pomdima's son, All these years I was wrong about wanted you to be dead. I'm so glad your alive Link. You lived threw the Deku tree, everything, You might have your fathers hair and other stuff but you are all your mother," Impa said as she patted Links back then let go of him. Tell link the words of her mind. "Your mother would be so proud of you. Link I am, and Zelda is. I guess evil is not only born from evil."

"Why don't we go get some dinner?" Link smiled, trying his best to cheer up Impa. She was taking this harder then he was. It was because she had know them very well and he had only see them act in the memory. It must have been hard for her to see that again. to relive the death of her friends. That must have been why she took him out of the memory like that. It would have lead up to seeing Zelda's death. That memory, she was right, the both shared it and forever would.

He stood up, his legs feeling like Jell-O, he looked at Impa and felt so sorry for her. If there was a way to make it up for making her do that, he would. He'd be willing to make her happy again. Link extend his hand to Impa and she gladly took it. There were not connected more then just by Zelda. Or the high respect they had for one another. Just holding on to each others hands, they felt stronger.

The boy of the Legends was the nightmare she dreamed of. But it had not been a nightmare. She should have known Pomdima's son would not grow up to be like his father. He did not even Care for the boy, but that was the factor Impa had forgotten. She was kind of glad Link had asked her to take him there. Now she could sleep at peace again knowing Hyrule would never have to face something like that again.

Link Pulled Impa to her feet, the two of them looked up at the sky as stars started to pop all over black blanket. Impa put her arm around Links Shoulder, and he did the same back. Then two of them walked threw the garden. The sent of dinner was filling the grounds. They both knew they were going to be yelled at, going to dinner, dressed the way they were. But some how, some way, it did not seam to matter that much anymore.
