Shina breathed a deep breath out as she made her way down the street, Darla in tow. A scarlet blush crept to her cheeks as she recalled the last words she heard her Commander say. I don't want to lose you…She smiled but quickly wiped it off of her face. She was on a serious mission; she wasn't supposed to be smiling as if she was a carefree school girl! Sighing, she turned to Darla as they simultaneously shoved the ear pieces into their right ear. "Test, test."
"Copy Shina. These things are good to go." Darla said in her cheery tone. Shina smiled and nodded. Opening the door to a back-lot establishment, they stepped inside. Darla spotted their contact first. A crude looking man with silver hair and cigarette in his hand. Tapping Shina on the shoulder and signaling her opening she stepped up to the counter to get the bartender's attention.
"Buy you a drink old timer?" she said sitting down next to the man. Directing her attention to the now returning bartender she said, "Water for me, and give him a fill of what ever he wants." She said flatly. The bartender nodded and left, returning with the drinks that the two had ordered. "Billy…"
"Damned woman, in the years I have been your contact, can't you get my rules straight. No names." She nodded at his quiet rasp.
"Agent Five Eight Two. Looking for an old project of yours. Names Porter." She slipped a picture of the man in question to his waiting hand. "Did some damage to my comrades and tried to kill me twice. He's out on the loose and I need your help. I know you probably haven't heard much, but you're my only contact on this guy. Anything at all could help." She said stressing the anything in her sentence. He seemed to think and then scratched his chin.
"Porter, eh? Serious case of mine. Took out my partner two years into my chase. Agent, not a guy that you wanna settle a score with. But I have heard some things in `the wire'. Seems he's out for a vendetta with the agent who cracked down on him a year ago. Been hitting the major hide aways. The gun ports and black market for some heavy artillery. As for his current location, not really much has been said, but I have a suspicion that he'll be around the ports. If you go after this guy, don't get caught alone, and what ever you do, don't show that you care for someone. He'll use it to hurt you and then he'll get them. Just like he did with my partner." He said a grave note in his voice. Shina nodded.
"Thanks old timer. Say healthy, I can't afford to scout out a new contact as well as you." She smiled and left the bar, slipping him a few bills for another drink. Nodding to Darla she headed straight for the door.
"So, we hit the ports in a scout out?" Darla suggested. Shina shook her head.
"No. It's too simple. The wire never has given my contact as much info as he had today. People don't let on as much as Porter is. My thought, he's leading us to the ports. He knows we're looking for him, and he's gonna try to get us. Search the market for any bidding and special requests. I'm betting we won't find anything that would trip off a suspicion." She ground up the paper she held in her hands. "Damn." She looked at Darla. "We're stuck. Call any contacts you have, I've got some ideas, but I don't want to go on them just incase. I want to be safe." She said mysteriously.
"What do you have in mind?" Darla said catching on to her train of thought.
"A game of Cat and Mouse." Shina said an n evil smile on her face, "Porter will be one sorry Cat." And with that she walked to the car and hopped inside.

After meeting with all her other contacts and sharing information with Darla, Shina sat at her desk, a frown upon her face. "I don't understand. Porter, you know I'm looking for you, but you stay so concealed. If you want me to find you, make a slip." She breathed out a frustrated breath and looked at her wall clock. Eleven thirty. I don't think I'll get much sleep tonight. Flipping open a folder on her desk she steeled herself so she wouldn't flinch at the menacing face within. "You Bastard. How did you know about him?" she whispered.
"About whom?" Shina jerked up at the deep voice coming form her doorway. Chris stood leaned against the door jam, coffee and sandwiches in hand. She quirked her head, her momentary focus on the objects in his possession.
"No one. It's not important. Why here so late Commander?" she said as she stood to salute. He shook his head and she sat back down. He walked over to her and set the food and drinks down on the desk, pulling a chair up next to hers.
"Thought, I'd help with the mission. I know it's yours, but Agent Zero Seven Nine told me you were hitting a dry patch in your search. I wanted to see if I could help piece together some clues, to find this bastard." He said a small smile played on his lips. She nodded and reclined in her chair.
"Not really much to go on. There's word he's been on the gun ports and black market searching for artillery. He's got a war in mind against me, or so my informant says." She sighed as she flipped through the papers. "He made a trail so clear it was too perfect. I suspect he was leading me to him." The Commander raised an eyebrow. "He spread word that he was looking for major guns and fire arms, but when offered, not a single one was bought. He said he was hiding in the ports, but he's too careful to let something that crucial slip to anyone. Least of all, my agent. I dunno. He's just leaving too perfect a trail."
"Who'd he tell?" the commander asked picking up a paper.
"Every informant I contacted said the same thing. The ports, so I'm assuming he told the Head and he told my informants not to go around there. That's how they know."
"He knows your informants. All of them. He knows who they are. He told them knowing they'd tell you and that you'd bust in there, headstrong as you always are and he'd have you. I'm glad you suspected his perfect trail." Chris set down the paper he had been holding. Shina looked up at him and nodded, unconsciously placing a hand on her midsection. Chris's eyes drew downward to her hand, his lips tugging down as well. "Does it still hurt?" he said more timid then he had hoped. Shina's eyes slid down to her lap.
"Not really, it's just a reminder of my stupidity and carelessness. Twice he's come after and almost killed me, and twice it was down to try to save my comrades. I don't understand why you hold such faith in me." She said, her sadness creeping into her voice. A finger curled under her chin and brought her face up to look him in the eyes.
"I have faith in you because you were saved your comrades, caring more about their safety then your own." He breathed out, his hand moving to cup her cheek. "You saved my life, and I owe you a great debt. You are so selfless. And it worries me." He conceded. Shina's mouth opened slightly, she felt a blush suffusing to her cheeks and tried to suppress it. Chris smiled, she's so beautiful and so precious, but she doesn't think anything of herself. Suddenly letting his emotions and feelings override his self-control he pressed his lips to her slightly open ones, tasting her gasp before he heard it. He lips were soft and warm, just like he had thought. His hand slid from her cheek to the nape of her neck, loving the feeling of her silky hair on the back of his hand.
Shina was in bliss. He tasted of coffee, but it wasn't a bad taste. She shut her eyes and slid her hand up his chest over his shoulders and finally clasped lightly behind his neck. She moaned slightly as she felt his tongue lick her bottom lip. She sent her tongue out to play with his. Pulling her lightly from her chair he guided her to his lap without releasing her mouth. Sitting delicately on his lap she twined her arms around his body, loving the feel of him beneath her. She gasped lightly when she rolled on her hip and came in contact with his arousal. He let out a strangled, guttural groan when she put pressure on his excited member, effectively bringing him out of his stupor. Ending the kiss he plucked her off of his lap and set her down in her own chair. Standing without a word he strode out of the office, shutting the door behind him as he went.
Shina cradled her heated head in her hands. Get a grip, its not like you haven't been kissed before. Granted never that deeply and you have never wanted to kiss anyone that badly, but still it was just a kiss. Don't attach too much to it. Why are you getting so emotional? She ranted at herself, but she couldn't deny, she wanted to do it again, and from the hardness she had felt beneath her…so did he. Giving a frustrated groan she set to the task ahead. I've got to figure out where Porter is anyway. Maybe this will help me focus.
~~~~~
Chris set his head against the door of his office, concentrating on breathing evenly. "What the hell was that?" he berated himself. Smacking his head gently against the door his mind replayed the kiss. This isn't helping. He gritted his teeth and grabbed his coat. "I'm going home, maybe some sleep will clear my mind." As he walked past her door he was sorely tempted to go in there and finish what he had started. Fisting his hands he ordered his body to keep moving. I have to put some distance between us. She's an agent, and I'm her commander, nothing more! He berated silently as he drove home.
A/N: Whew…another chapter done. There has been some confusion on the number of the agent corresponding to the person. At least for my proof reader. ^_^* so I'll clear if up for you k? Hint: the higher the number, the less important. And I didn't make Shina #1 cuz that's too cliché and she's ONE of the best agents in her field which is undercover outwork
Shina= Agent Zero Six Four
Chris= Commander
Darla= Agent Zero Seven Nine
Billy= Agent Five Eight Two
P.S. There WILL be lemon next chapter.
