Prologue
The princess looked up at her friend, Yira, a fox demon. Yira had long blue hair, red eyes, and blue ears with red tufts of fur at the ends. His hair was long and hung about his back; it matched his two tails that stuck out of his clothing. His ears stuck out fairly well and matched both his eyes and hair. He has been the princess's best friend and protector for years.
"Yira-san, I'm very worried." The princess sighed sadly, "Watashi no tousan had just died and now I'm left to rule his entire kingdom." The princess layed her head gently on his shoulder.
"Manarei-chan, don't worry." Yira put an arm around his princess, "You are doing a fine job. No one would ever want to get rid of you."
Manarei smiled, "Domo, Yira-san." The princess snuggled closer to him in his arms. She and Yira have been best friends ever since they both were babies. Although he didn't show it, Yira loved Manarei alot.

A few days later, a knight bursted into the throneroom. Manarei was talking with Yira and his sister, Yura. Yura looked exactly like Yira except for the pink eyes and the pink tufts of fur on her ears.
"Princess Manarei, Yira-san, Yura-chan. There is trouble!" The knight bowed.
Manarei stood up abruptly, her face pale, "What is the trouble?"
"All the villagers are revolting. And the Fox Clan can't control them!" The knight answered.
"What!" Yura growled, "They can't do that to the Princess! Come on!" The young fox ran out with the kinght following.
Yira looked over at his princess, "Manarei-chan, desu you ok?" He put an arm around her waist.
Manarei leaned into his embrace, layed her head on his shoulder, and cried, "Yira-san. what did I do wrong?"
Yira's heart broke as he watched his princess cry, "Manarei-chan.... Don't cry."
After a few moments, Manarei looked up, "Yira-san, Aishiteru." She hugged Yira and stroked his hair.
Yira was taken by surprise at this and looked down at her, "Manarei-chan, I really don't know what to say.....Aishiteru too."
Manarei smiled and their lips met. Yira smiled at this and scooped her up into his arms; carrying her to her room.

The next day, Manarei sat up and felt her fox beside her. She sighed and got out of the bed quietly. It'll be a long time before she could ever see him again. She hadn't told him what really caused the start of the Rebellion. The princess walked over to the bathroom and got ready to meet the enemy of her father.
She was to sacrifice herself to save all the people of her kingdom, leave the kingdom under Yira's rule, die; and wish for the best. The princess came out of the bathroom and walked out of the bathroom. She went over to her beloved fox and ruffled his hair.
"Aishiteru, Yira-san. Please take care of watashi no kingdom and watashi no minna. Take care of yourself, watashi no kitsune. Remember that I'll always love you. Aishiteru watashi no koibito." She plantd a kiss on her fox's forehead and left.

San is used in japan in people's names as politeness; liike 'Yira-san'. Chan means 'small' and it is used for girls that are close to one person; like 'Manarei-chan'. Aishiteru means 'I love you'. Desu is supposed to mean 'is, are, or am'.... I just decided to use japanese words in my story. Manarei is pronounced as 'Man-uh-ray'. Watashi no means 'my'. Koibito and Ai means 'love'.
