Chapter 2: ~Veroinca~

"Ohhh my head...." Nikki sighed as she sat up rubbing her head. That had been a really really bad dream. She opened her eyes. It appeared she was in some sort of forest. Nikki turned and looked behind her to see Tenameru laying on the ground.

Nikki got up to her feet and started to jog of to him. She was about to reach Tenameru when something-or someone fell from the tree tops and landed right on her. She fell down back on the ground now in a lot of pain.

"GET OF ME LINK!" Nikki yelled as Link Sat up. He rubbed his head as Nikki smacked him off. Link fell backwards as Nikki wiped some of the dirt off her clothes. Link Rubbed his eyes as Nikki then walked over to Tenameru.

"Sorry!" Link yelled at Nikki and she shot his a side ways glance. Nikki bent down next to Tenameru and rolled him over on his back so she could see his face. His lip was bloody and there was a small cut above his right eye.

Nikki wipes the blood off his face as he stirred awake. He looked up at Nikki and Nikki smiled down at him. This was the last time she was going to let him get carried away with and artifact that you could not use unless you went threw a door that was locked shut for more then a hundred years.

"You okay?" Nikki asked as she helped Tenameru sit up.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine how about you?" Tenameru asked and Nikki sighed as she looked over at Link then at Tenameru again.

"I was perfect until Hero fell from a tree and landed on me..." Nikki said as she rubbed her head. Tenameru smiled brightly as he climbed to his feet and Nikki followed. The two of them walked back over to link. Link was looking in and out of bushes and around some trees.

"Where's Talya?" Link asked as he looked over at them as he pushed appart a bush and looked threw it. Nikki and Tenameru wished they knew where Talya was but they did not even know where they were. The Three of them then started scarching the area calling out Talya's name but the simply did not know where she was and if she was all right where she was.

After more then a good hour of looking for her the three sat down in the middle of a grove. What if Talya had not been dragged here with them? What if she died, what if someone took her or something ate her. These were all the many `what ifs' that kept crawing into their minds, they tried to push them away but it was not really working that way for them.

Nikki got up from her sitting spot after ten mintues, she was about to walk away when Tenameru grabbed her hand. Nikki looked over her shoulder and Tenameru pulled her back down to her seat. Link then looked up from the ground like the two of them had spotted Talya.

"Tenameru?" Link asked, but Tenameru did not answer, he had his eyes fixed up on something that was up in the trees. Nikki looked up wards as well trying to find what ever it was that Tenameru was looking at. What ever it was he did not want her to go anywhere.

Link then turned around in his seat and looked up at the tree tops as well. He spotted something but he really could not make out what it was. But there was one thing he knew for a fact. What ever it was not spouse to be up there.

Tenameru then got up from his seat and he took a few steps. Nikki then instantly jumped to her feet and grabbed a hold of Tenameru. Tenameru tried to get her off but she would not let go of him. He wanted to do little to no talking so not to disturb what ever it was that was in the trees but he had to say something or he could not move with Nikki hanging on to him.

"Were on earth do you think your going?" Nikki whispered sharply.

"What if it's Talya thats up there?" Tenameru whispered back and now Link walked over to join them. The ground shook slightly and the three of them looked around down at ground level. When they saw nothing they looked back up towards the tree tops again.

"If it is Talya she would have came down already! God knows what's up there and I'm not going to let my lover go wondering around! Either you stay here with me or I'm going with you!" Nikki whispered again and Tenameru sighed but he had a smile on his face. The things he loved about Nikki. Nikki knowing she had won her little battle let go of him then he took her hand as they took a few more steps closer to what ever it was that was in the tree tops.

"I really don't think we should go any further..." Link said and Both Nikki and Tenameru looked at link like he had just hit them with a tone of bricks. Link not wanting to go further on this little adventure. It was very un like him, but what ever it was that was up there was scarring the shit out of Link.

Then the ground shook again. Once was okay to forget but twice something to start to worry about. The group turned around as they heard leaves russle and the sound of something running towards them. Then out of the bush shot Talya, her hair was a mess, her clothes were ripped up and she was bloody and out of breath.

"Talya??!!" They all yelled and that had to be the worst mistake they could have made. Talya ran over rot them and wiped the sweat and blood off her face. She then started to push them, she was out of breath that should could not speak. But then the thing they had spotted early jumped down and out of the tree. It landed with a thud and all their eyes nearly shot out of their heads.

It was a monster with long spider legs and a body that appeared to be a mix of a dragon and a tiger. It let out a scream as it looked at the four people who had woken it up. Then before they could move the four turned back to where they saw Talya run out of the bush and another monster jumped out of it. It resembled a dinosaur a lot.

"RUN!" Talya managed to yell and they did not have to think twice the four of them bolted off threw the woods or where ever they were. They hammered in and out of the trees but the two ceatures were gaining on them.

Then where they now entered was a place with a bunch of fallen threes and plants that were burnt up and broken. Now they had to start jumping. as they entered this place Nikki lost Grip on Tenamerus hand and seamed to be falling behind. She tried to go faster but the harder she tried the slower she appeared to be going. Her head started hurting and her vision was starting to give away.

She was going so slow until she finally came to a stop all together. She could not move anymore. She felt sick and felt like she was going to fall over and die. The monster with the spider legs approached Nikki but seeing that she was not going any where it slowed to a stop behind her.

Tenameru skid to a stop when he noticed Nikki was not right behind him any more. Talya and link stopped a few feet after Tenameru and Turned around. Nikki coughed a few times before she fell down to her knees. A really sick feeling over took Tenameru and as he started running back towards Nikki. Talya and Link did not hesitate and ran after Tenameru.

The Spider leg monster was not going to wait for Tenameru or the others, it lifted one of it's long legs and shot it at Nikki. It's leg was moving at an incredible speed. It's leg made contact with Nikki's shoulder then shot right threw it.

"AH!" Nikki screamed as grabbed her shoulder and part of the things leg. This was not helping her in any way.

"Nikki!" Tenameru yelled but as he reached out for her the other monster jumped in front of him casing the ground they were standing on to collapse. Tenameru then fell with the monster. Link jumped up and over the whole the monster had made and pulled out his sword. He then cut off the leg of the spider monster that was now suck in Nikki's shoulder.

Talya then tried to make the jump. But she had a gut feeling that she was not going to make it. And she had been right. She was so tried from running she barley had the speed to make it half way across the hole.

"TALYA!" Link yelled as he watched Talya attempt to jump in the hole but he watched her fall instead of making it to the other side. Link ran over and looked down in the whole he could not see the bottom. But he knew Tenameru could take care of Talya. But before he went after them he had to keep this thing from finish off Nikki.

The Spider monster was no more interested in Link saying it had cut it's leg off. Link jumped up in the air again and sliced at the monsters face. it screams as it tried to smack link with another one of it's legs but in that event Link cut off another one of it's legs.

The monster had finally had enough it turned heal and started to leave. Link put his sword away and then ran over to Nikki. She had a really bad wound in her shoulder. Link then pulled the leg out of her body and sat down next to her.

"Link...." Nikki said softly as her vision was now almost a complete blur.

"Nikki? Pleas say you'll be okay, Tenamerus not going to be to Thrilled," Link said as he then got a good hold on Nikki and lifted her up. They were going to have to go in the hole after Talya and Tenameru. Nikkis head fell to a slant on Links shoulder, she did not have enough engery to move it.

"Am I going to die?" Nikki asked softly as Link walked over to the hole. If this is what it felt like to be close to death then Nikki never wanted to die and she wanted this feeling to go away. but it did not seam like it was going any where at the moment.

"No Nikki, I wont let you die," Link said as he the took in a deep breath and jumped into the hole before their little friend decided he wanted to come back.

"Talya....?" Tenameru winced in pain as he looked up at Talya who was leaning over him. She helped him back up before collapsing into him. She was breathing heavily. Tenameru patted her back. Talya then shook her head slightly and then stood up on her own.

"I felt dizzy for a moment..." She said as Link came sliding down the side of the hole holding Nikki who had now passed out. Links feet touched the ground and Tenameru limped over to Link. Tenameru and hurt his leg on the fall down.

Talya then slowly walked over to Link but she took a seat not wanting to stand anymore. Her legs were killing her and she felt like she could sleep for three days with out waking. Link then Laid Nikki on the ground and then sat next to Talya.

"Whats wrong with her?" Tenameru asked as he tried the clean Nikki off the best he could. Talya then laid her head in links lap and fell in a deep sleep with out a second though. Link patted Talyas head and then he looked up at Tenameru.

"She just needs some rest thats it Tenameru," Link said as he laid his head back against the wall he was leaning on. Then he slowly closed his eyes and he to fell into a sleep. Tenameru looked around at his two friends and his love. If they all though it would be an okay to sleep then she though maybe he should try and sleep as well. Tenameru then started to get really tired and he laid his head down on Nikki's chest and fell asleep to the sound of her heart beat.

As the group fell deeper and deeper in a dream world, non of them notices that the afternoon sun was shining down upon them brightly. (If you guys know your Tena information really well then you should really think about the last sentce and run it threw your minds a few times... :D)

"OH MY GOD!" Links eyes shot open at the sound of a woman screaming. He jumped slightly waking Talya up. Talya felt one hundred percent better. She yawned then sat up right and rubbed her eyes. Tenameru and Nikki also started to wake up after hearing the woman scream.

"Are you guys all right?" The same woman yelled as she began to run towards the. She had Long re-orange hair that was pulled back into pigtails. She had on a high top shirt that was also low cut. She also ha had on a short pair of brown leather shorts. She also had on leather shoes.

"Who are you?" Link asked as the woman looked at all four of them each slowly then a quick glance.

"My names Veronica, I came out her to find some herbs for my soup when I saw you all laying out here. I though for sure you were all dead," Veronica said as she walked over to Link and Talya. "Here let me help you up."

"Veronica eh? I'm Talya and this is Link. Over there is Tenameru and Nikki, Where are we?" Talya asked as Tenameru stood up and helped Nikki to her feet. Nikki felt a little better she could see clearly again but she was still real out of it and weak from the loss of blood.

"Nice to meet you all, but we really need to get your wounds fixed up, come fallow me I'll take you to my tree house, but one question...your not from a round here are you? From where you came form...You came from Hyrule...." Veronica stopped then scratched the back of her head.

"How can you tell?" Link asked

"Well many outsides arrive here, and only people from Hyrule have pointed ears like we do. But the last person from Hyrule to ever come here came a good million years ago. My mother told me so," Veronica said as she started leading the way back to her tree house.

"What happens to the people who land here Veronica?" Tenameru asked as the group started walking after Veronica. They did not know if it was such a good idea to trust her but, they needed a place to stay before some more monsters started to think they'd make a great lunch/

"Well most of them just stay. The first few days they are determined to get back home, but then they met someone, stay living here and get married," Veronica said as she bent down and picked up a mushroom. She tossed it in her bag. "But none of them seamed to live very long..."

"Why not? Is this place not suitable to live?" Talya asked as she was now walking side by side with Veronica. Veronica looked over at Talya and then shrugged her shoulders. The wind then started blowing gently against them, but still none of them seamed to notice that the sun was hanging over their heads.

"No it's suitable to live, I've lived here my whole life. But there are a few things That I know for a fact. Once the husbands died, all the wives moved to Widow hill village. I've never met them before but My mother knows all the gossip that goes around, and so does my younger brother. And another thing that I know, you and your friend are the first women outsiders to ever steep foot on this soil," Veronica said and then she walked a head of Talya to pick up another mushroom.

Talya stopped until the other three caught up to her. They walked on threw the woods until the came upon a gate. Standing next to the gate was a younger man with orange-red hair. Veronica waved to him and then he waved back to her. Veronica turned to the group and smiled.

"Thats my younger brother Lundie, well he's my half brother. We both have different mothers," Veronica said and Lundie started to walk towards them. The way he was dressed and the way he walked was much different then how veronica did. And it was not just because one was a girl and the other was a boy. It was like the were completely opposite.

"Outsiders?" Lundie asked as he looked at the group then over at his sister. She nodded her head, Lundie then grabbed Veronica arm and dragged her back over to the gate leaving the four alone again. The two were sharing words in whispers. It looked like they were trying to hide something. After a few minutes the two of them walked about over to the group.

"It was nice to meet you all, and Veronica don't do anything unless I'm around go it? Now Mardie, Mercredi, Judi, Vendredi, Samedi and Dimanch are all waiting for more. I said I'd go to them once I found out that you were all right," Lundie said and Veronica gave her brother a hug before he waved off then started walking away and into the gates.

"Lundies part of a gang called the `Talkazars'," Veronica said she then waved her arm for them to fallow her. "My tree house is not to far away from here." They then walked threw the gates with Veronica and the looked around. All the house here were up in trees. Some of them have laters nailed to the tree and some of them had rope laters. Nothing was on the ground but some dead plants and leaves and Lundie who was walking towards another tree house latter.

"Veronica can I ask you something?" Talya asked and Veronica shook her head yes. "What did your brother not want you to do unless he was around?"

"Oh, My mother, she's a rat all right and she always is running around bothering people. Lundie does not like me hanging around my mother unless he's there. He does not like her very much and says she should have died already," Veronica said as she came to a rope later. She jumped up on it. "This is my house, there are plenty of rooms in here. You can pick on while I got get my first aid kit...."
