The Tiger and The Phoenix

He roared

A roar that reached up to the Heavens,

Echoed through the valleys,

Shaking the skies,

And Shattering the earth.

She stirred,

Awaking from her long dreamless sleep.

Her wings fluttered,

Gently.

Softly.

They spread.

A graceful arc.

A powerful stroke.

They sent her soaring into the clear Summer night.

A shrill whistle,

Blended with a low rumbling roar.

She teasingly circled him 3 times,

High above him.

"You can't catch me," she seemed to say.

Her fiery wings lighting up the dark sky,

Leaving trails of golden fire,

And Sparks that rival the twinkling stars.

A bounce.

A powerful leap.

And they were on the ground, rolling.

His bared fangs against her naked neck,

Muzzling, tasting..

Love conquered.

The curse subsided.

Into their human forms, they slid.

His hot breath fanned her soft bare skin.

Her fiery eyes set his soul ablaze.

Heated questing lips trailed down the silky body to her navel,

And further down.

A single gasp, broken sobs,

Resulting in absolute abandonment.

Surrender. Sweet Surrender.

The wheels of Time paused.

Passion erupted like the lava from an awakened volcano,

Lighting up all that was in its path,

Reducing everything to cinder.

Twin Souls that had been searching for one another,

Entwined and mingled tightly together.

At length,

The flickering blaze died down.

Panting and sensuous moaning subsided.

Lingering lips brutally forced apart,

Giving way to their eternal curse.

He roared

An agonized and heart-wrenching cry,

Shuddering violently as his animal form took over.

She screamed,

Spreading her wings,

And soared once again high up among the stars.

The Stars,

That will be her only companion,

For the coming year.

Until their next temporary release.
