Mission Complete!

By: SW2K

Legal bull****: Alright, here it is. I have -no- affiliation with Nintendo other then the fact that I'm a huge fan of the Metroid series. All of the Metroid related characters, items, places and names in the following story are owned by .... well I want to say Nintendo but if not whoever the hell owns the copyrights. =^_^= Ravenous al'Shan, Rebecca Morales and Julie Aran however are -MINE- so feel free to use and exploit them as you see fit. ^_^ Now... on with the story!

--------------------------------------

That perfect military mind... The wisdom of Adam Malkovich continued to serve even after death. Until today, I had no idea that the minds of leaders and scientists were frequently uploaded to computers. My incredible reunion with Adam may have saved the universe... But how will the beings of the universe view our resolve? I doubt they will understand what we did...the danger we barely averted. They will hold tribunals and investigations. They will hold us responsible. Adam understood this, and he spoke to me in my anger... "Do not worry. One of them will understand. One of them must." I've reflected upon his words, and I see the wisdom in them. We are all bound by our experiences. They are the limits of our consciousness. But in the end, the human soul will ever reach for the truth... This is what Adam taught me. Just one detail still bothers me. This ship can only be started manually. Yet, before I faced the Omega Metroid, the ship moved on it's own, guided by someone's hands. Is it possible? Adam...?

Com: Lady, what's troubling you? You wonder how I started the ship? Just think about it. They [the Etecoons and Dachoras] lent me a hand..."

The trip back to the Spacestation was rather uneventful. The ship was on autopilot, and her newfound "pets" had curled up in a greenish fuzzy pile in the far corner. With a gradual slouch she leans down in the pilot's chair, fading in and out of consciousness and thuroughly exhausted. The Metroids were gone... The X parasite was gone and those ungodly SA-X mutations had been blown to bits.. vaporized into spacedust... so why did she still have the feeling something even worse was right on the horizon? It was with those thoughts playing through her mind while she drifted off into a troubled sleep.

As the borrowed fighter pulls into the spaceport of the Galactic Federation spacestation, movement could be seen all around the platform. Hundreds of soldiers in suits and several other scientists milling about, looking to be preparing for Samus's landing. From the cockpit of the ship it looked like the troops were armed with suppression weaponry, mostly concussion weapons and the like.

"What the...."

Letting the autopilot take it's course and set the ship down she grabs what little things were hers out of the ship and moves to the hololift in the center of the ship. Lights flicker and blur as the dark gunmetal floor beneath her speed boots turned transparent and the lift began to descend, her newly aquired "pets" gathered around her.

Immediately the soldiers all came to attention, more guns then she cared to think about raising to point at her, the scanners inside the visor of her suit going insane with warnings and readouts until she deactivated the damn thing and pulled it from her shoulders slowly.

"Samus Aran, you are hereby placed under arrest by the direct order of the Galactic Federation Law Enforcement Agency pending a full investigation into your involvement in the destruction of Biologic Space Labs station number 0472 and the planet SR-388, please surrender your weapons and come with us."

The voice belonged to a rather shaky looking officer with a pistol as big as his forearm aimed at her. Despite her surprise at the "hero's welcome" she almost laughed at how all of them looked as if she would raise her hand and lightning would strike down from the bulkheads and fry them all. She looks down to her weapon on her right arm, then up to the one who spoke. "I'm going to take this off, just don't shoot, okay?"

She waited for a confirmation nod before her gloved hand came to the front of her belt. Pressing the button the suit glows a little, a few of the soldiers stepping back once. The joints of the suit opened and spread apart before the entire front opened like the design of a power loader to reveal the athletic bounty hunter's figure clad in her black and bright yellow hunter's uniform. She steps out of the suit, looking back to her pets and kneeling down to give each of them a kiss on the top of the head. "I'll see you little guys later alright? Don't let them do anything too bad to you." she whispers under her breath, then standing and making her way over towards the awaiting enterage who wait to escort her to the brig of the Space Hunter's station.

The "Geomancer" was officially a checkpoint for transports and the sort. With as many docking bays and accomodating rooms it worked perfect, and it even had a large four-floor section that was devted to planetary living, with everything from parks to a masive shopping center with a theme park. Under the surface however, and in certain groups, otherwise was known about the legendary federation station.

The top five floors of the station hid a surprising amount of things. A specialized Research and Development laboratory that was open to officials, soldiers and registered bounty hunters was just one of the finer features. Then of course, you had the specially designed brig for holding the more dangerous criminals.. cells that some people never came out of. Which was exactly where the group of soldiers and captain in the lead were taking Samus.

*********Elsewhere in the galaxy....***************

Darkness.....

Pain....

Suffering......

Death......

SAMUSSSSSS.........

Mechanically glowing crimson eyes opened in the darkness. The sound of machinery was everywhere. Hissing of compressors of various kinds pumping steam into the dark though it could only be smelled. His arms bulged with muscle as he tensed and tried to move, but was held fast by something all along his body save for his head, which was held in some seperate sort of brace.

Soft green lights began to come on, illuminating the room that looked rather odd, distorted... bringing him to believe it was some sort of stasis tube he was in It was no technology he had ever seen before... there was liquid all around him, yet he could smell everything.. what kind of hell had he come to? Whatever put him her was going to pay and pay dearly.. how DARE they restrain him. Large blobs of color poured in through what looked to be a door and swarmed around the large swimming pool sized tube he was in though he couldn't do anything but blink and glare with those piercing crimson eyes.

"Everything is going as planned, Commander. The project will be ready in a matter of days, and then we will resume the Metroid project."

"Excellent.. have him brought up as soon as possible for introduction to the Hive. Mother will be more pleased."

The two voices spoke back and forth before the decorated officer left the lab, followed soon by the others. The lights turned back off, the only thing standing out in the dark cavern was the burning eyes of the creature in the tank, burning with the intenity of a hundred suns, and pure rage...
