The swan maiden

It all started with a man and his love for a swan.

One day a middle aged man came across a wounded swan it was the most magnificent creature he had ever seen so he took it to his home and nurtured it back to health. After a month passed the swan grew older fast and the man did not want it to die because he had grown to love it not as a pet but as a lover he didn't exactly know how but he did. So he took it to his bedroom and had sex with it one day a while after that the swan laid an enormous egg and then died. The man was so sad but got past that and became happy for the egg his lover had left. See he didn't actually think he would get the swan what do you call pregnant but he did he also didn't know what it would look like but one day he found out. He had just gotten out of the shower when he heard a loud cracking noise he went into his bedroom to find a little baby girl on the ground on egg shells and became very happy. As the days passed by the girl grew into a beautiful women and the man had some how stayed a little younger than most men were. He never told the girl that she came from a swan and for some odd reason he never told her that she was his daughter but instead had sex with her. He did not know but she had known that he was her father so he had to force her into bed one day she became ill then a glowing aura twisted around her and she turned into a swan. Then she flew away from the man and landed on a cliff with a small puddle she drank from it and died but before she did she laid 2 eggs one black and the other white with black spots and that is where our story begins.

The eggs hatched, the black one became a man and the other was a woman but she was not as normal as the man for she had wings coming out of her back with black on the top lining and one small wing imprinted on her forehead then the wings surrounded her body and both her and the man became older. Now to us it would seem unnatural for what we think are brother and sister to have sex but it is not for The Swan Maiden and Man.

Once again the woman laid an egg but instead of her dying the man died and his dead body floated away as white feathers. The woman called herself Faey (Fay-e) almost like fairy. Faey took care of her child, which was a girl and named her Swayen (Sway-en). Then one day something different from other maiden deaths happened Faey's wings appeared again and wrapped around her naked body and feathers started coming down from the skies like rain. Faey went on the edge of the cliff right next to the puddle she some how knew her mother died by and told her daughter that it was alright and the feathers will fall, fall, fall when it was her time. She winked to her daughter smiled then turned into a swan that was different but beautiful and turned into feathers and blew away.

Swayen cried and was only 3 so she did not understand anything except that her mother was gone and would never come back. Swayen grew up a learned skills on her own now it was the hardest thing to do but she actually lived on her own starting at age 3 and by the time she was 16 she knew almost everything about all of the woods in the country but still was very shy and did not understand the people that looked like her talked like her and walked like her so she did not bother with them and they never knew about her. Every night though after she was 17 she had nightmares about the day her mother left she could remember what she said but did not understand she woke up in sweat and ran to the puddle at which she watched her mother jump. She remembered her 3 years as though they were the present. She sat on her knees and cried until she felt something in her long graceful hair, she looked at herself in the reflection of the puddle and saw what she looked like. She had long blonde hair with long knee length bangs that were black her lips were very lucious and then she noticed feathers falling from the sky and in her reflection she saw the same wings her mother had, growing from her back rapidly. Swayen screamed in horror and thought that she was about to die she looked up into the sky and understood what her mother meant before when she said "The feathers will fall, fall, fall when it was my time" she then saw the same swan that her mother had turned into fly above her and then realized that it was the present that she was 3 it was yesterday that she was 16 that time had passed by in a week for her and her mother had just now turned into a swan. Swayen understood that when she had look into the puddle as an infant she had touched the water that her grandmother's blood had run into. She had gone through all her ages in an instant with the swan blood it was her mother's feathers that fell on her and the puddle grew into a swamp at the same time the same aura twisted around her and she became a swan. Her mother once again died from her life and she lived in the swamp for ages but grew no older than 17.

Then one day a man about 18 walked into the swamp ground and saw the magnificent swan swimming before him. "Wow a swan with black wings it's so cool. Oh my god what's that light around it it's so bright." Swayen turned into a beautiful 17-year-old girl but her hair was white and much, much longer. The man look at her in amazement and looked at her from head to water and by only seeing her waist than some wavy material he thought that she was a mermaid. "Whoa are you a mermaid."

Swayen laughed a friendly giggle to the remark he had made. "No."

"Then what are you a fairy I mean you have wings, no wait oh my god their vanishing what are you."

"I'm a swan maiden and my name's Swayen."

"Wow you are so beautiful I'm lucky my friends made me come down here for the football."

"Who are you sir."

"Huh oh I'm John." Swayen then looked at the man, he had brown hair that covered his eyes, was tall and wore only baggy pants. "Um Swayen would you like to come meet my friends their pretty cool and I want them to see how hott you are"

"Shur John." She went with him and met his friends Rick who had brown hair covered by a hat and shorts she also met Anthony who had black hair with 2 strips of blonde bangs hanging down.

"Dudes this is Swayen"

"Yo"

"Hey hott stuff" they all greeted her and then they noticed she had a wet white shirt which they could gladly see through, and the shirt sadly for them had feathers in the shape of a shell covering her chest which they also noticed was quiet large. She also wore a long black skirt and finally after they were done checking that out they noticed that she was shivering so they gave her their jackets and sat her down as they finished football and secretly talked about her and were she should go. They were nice so they wouldn't rape her or anything but they did fight over whose house she should stay at and what room she should get. She decided to stay at John and Anthony's place in John's room. But one thing she forgot was the extremely large egg she had laid at the swamp and left there too. Until the horrible dreams caused her to wake up in the middle of the night. She realized what she had forgotten so she quickly got dressed and went to the swamp only to find cracked eggshells and a small dead baby on the nest in the middle of the swamp. Swayen quickly took off her shoes and went into the water in the new nightgown the boy's had bought her. She sat on the eggshells in the nest holding her baby close to her and cried with her feet still in the water Swayen cried until the sun started coming up then she fell asleep with the baby still in her arms. By 12 noon the guy's had noticed that she was gone and came to the park John showed them were he had fond her the day's before. They saw her there in the water they all quickly swam out to her but when Anthony tried to touch her something threw him back almost like a wing hitting him. John went to touch her and as he did he felt her skin had grown cold almost dead he quickly jumped onto the large nest and wrapped her in his coat trying to warm her Anthony and Rick had climbed on the nest too and told John to give her CPR. He put his lips to her mouth but when he did she woke up and in shock threw him off of her.

"What were you doing to me"

"I was trying to help you"

"How by sucking the life from my mouth"

"No by giving you CPR"

"What"

"CPR it's what you do to give someone life to keep them from dying" in hearing that Swayen put her cold lips to her baby's and blew air into it's body.

"It's not working"

"What, what are you doing" they had not seen the baby and still could not understand what she was doing with her back to them.

"Why isn't she waking up"

"Who, who's she"

"My daughter" "My daughter is dead. I left here then she hatched and I wasn't here to help her"

They looked at her as if she were crazy then John remembered that he had never told them that she was a swan or a Swan Maiden. Swayen told them her life and at first they looked at John as if saying he had picked a crazy women but John told them his part of when he found her and after a while they believed it and saw the dead child. Swayen was depressed after her baby turned into a swan and then feathers and blew away but then she started eating food again and it became her past which she started to forget for now. John the others and Swayen would go to the park and play football and Swayen did not know, but Rick and Anthony saw that John was falling in love With Swayen but didn't mention it. Till one day a man came to John and Anthony's house looking for a Swan that had Black wings like Swayen had when she was a swan.

"Hello my name is Darien" "And I have been searching this town for years looking for the swan I just described and this is the last house it could have came to"

"Sir I don't think a swan would go to a house or even one around here"

"Yes, yes it would this particular swan would come to a quiet place like this and it would be the most beautiful swan ever"

"I'm sorry but there is no swan here" Swayen told the man that it was only her and the other 3 boy's she lived with.

"My, my young lady why would such and elegant thing like you live with these men where are your lady friends"

"I have none I live here because these men are my only friends and have helped me"

"Helped you oh why is your hair white"

"Um that is really none of your business sir"

"Oh so I see you know where the swan is don't you"

"No I do not"

"Yes you do where it is" the man grabbed Swayen's arm and pulled her close to him looked into her eye's and somehow saw her life and her grandmother's life.

"I see so you are my I think great grand daughter"

"WHAT"

"Yes you're grandmother was my daughter your dad was your moms brother and my daughter was my lover to the same fate with you"

"What let go of me" John punched the man a shut the door with Swayen behind him.

Swayen fell asleep as did the others and Rick stayed over too. Then Swayen had a horrible dream that the man came back and she woke up crying John quickly came in and she asked him to stay in the room with her so she would be safe so he did she wrapped his arm around her shoulders and fell asleep and again had the same dream but this time the man was old and he killed the guy's. John was still awake and he tightened his grip on her and her nightmare stopped. In the morning everyone decided they should call Swayen something else and change her appearance too. She agreed and they dyed her hair dark brown and cut it to her knees because she did not want to lose a lot of hair, they changed her name to Lily for that was what lived in her birth swamp which sadly reminded her of her dead baby but she did not say anything they changed her wardrobe by getting her one. Then they sat down and watched TV and saw on the news that the man that had come the other day had committed suicide and they read the note he left behind which said "I will come back for you swan girl and you will be mine" Lily started to get scared and grabbed hold of Rick cause he was the closest and she almost cried but he hugged her gently. See after Anthony and Rick saw that John was liking Lily even more than ever they wanted to spend more time with her and now all 3 were in love with her but she did not notice cause nothing like that had ever happened to her so she just though of it as kindness till one night she woke up to hear them fighting.

"Look John she can't stay with just you and Anthony forever she should stay with me"

"No I think that she should come to my new Apt. Down town"

"Look you 2 it's her decision if she want's to go to your apt. Rick's or want's to stay here okay"

"What are you guy's yelling about down here" Lily walked down the steps yawning.

"I'm sorry did we wake you"

"Go back to bed it's late"

"I'm not a child I can stay up if I want to"

"Sorry"

"Actually I am tired and had a bad dream again" Lily giggled as she hugged them all and got a drink.

"Really well I think you just want us to baby you" they all tackled her onto the couch gently and then they all toppled onto the ground laughing when they heard a knock on the door.

"Who could be here at this time of night" John went over to the door and opened it to find a vase of pink and red roses that said. "To the beautiful girl with brown hair" from the cashier.

"How did he get this address."

"What is it John" "Oh what beautiful flowers oh look their from that boy at the cashier" "How sweet and kind of him"

"Um Lily how did he get the address"

"Oh he walked me home after lunch yesterday he was so kind and thoughtful and look he wants to go to lunch again how cute"

Later Lily walked down the stairs in a knee length lacy skirt and white shirt; her hair was in a braided bun and 2 white roses in the back clipped on.

"Wow Lily you look fabulous"

"Ya"

"Thank you guy's I'm gonna get lunch with Ben the cashier"

"Oh your really gonna see him again"

"Ya I guess why is something wrong you guy's"

"No nothing" they all quickly answered and then scattered. Lily went out the door and after she was far away the doorbell rang Rick went to the door and saw 5 guy's standing there and they asked for the girl with brown hair. Rick yelled at them to buzz off and never come back and they all ran.

Lily came back at 7 on the dot angry.

"What's wrong Lily" asked John

"Ben who I thought was very kind tried to give me CPR and when he did he practically choked me with his tongue"

"Oh no Lily that was kissing that's how people kiss you didn't know that"

"No I didn't and how could people kiss like that it`s horrid and disgusting"

"You have never been kissed before have you ever slept with a man"

"What no I don't think so why"

"Have you ever been with a man"

"No not except you guy's is something wrong" all 3 looked at her with their jaws down and eye's wide.

"Please don't look at me that way it's scary"

"I'm sorry it's just amazing how you have never been with a guy or even kissed"

"I'm sorry is that bad am I supposed to"

"You don't have to but how old are you"

"I'm 17 still and I don't think I'll ever get any older"

"Whoa that's so cool how can I stay 18"

"My mother told me that you must sleep with a swan" "But not just any swan she must be one that you love I guess that's how that hundred year old man stayed so young by sleeping with his swan which gave birth to my grandma oh my god he was my great, great grandpa yuck" the guys just dropped at the thought of sleeping with a swan but then they realized that Lily was a swan and they all dreamt of her with them.

"Are you guy's okay"

"Ya were fine"

"So um Lily you're a swan right" Rick asked

"Um ya I am" "I guess"

"Rick what are you thinking in that lonely brain of yours" Anthony said teasingly then Rick pulled him and John away from Lily and told them that if they had sex with her they would be young forever. When John heard that Idea he punched Rick and said, "Rick if you even think about doing that to her I swear I'll kill you, you can't use her for your own benefits" Rick wiped a drop of blood from his mouth and left Anthony went with him.

"John what was that all about" when John went to answer Rick ran into the place and hit John but Anthony pulled Rick away and Lily pulled John.

"What is going on you guy's somebody answer me"

Anthony asked Lily where she wanted to live with him Rick or John.

"Well I don't know"

"You have to chose Lily"

"Right know"

"Yes right know" Anthony grinded his teeth while struggling to hold Rick then Lily let go of John.

"Why do I have to chose"

"Because you have to"

"I can't"

"Chose god damn it chose" Anthony yelled at Lily and she just dropped to the ground as if all life had left her the color in her eyes were all black and clouded. They all stopped fighting and Anthony shook Lily saying how sorry he was.

"I chose the swamp"

"What"

"I chose the swamp I don't want to live with any of you if your all just gonna fight over me"

"We weren't honest"

"I may not be totally human but I am not stupid I heard you guys just a minuet ago and all those other times you thought I wasn't listening even the first day we all met and you guys were deciding who's place and room I should stay in I was listening"

"And now I chose the swamp"

"Why"

"Because when I was there I was happy alone and it was quiet there was nobody yelling at me and nobody fighting but here there is anger sadness and betrayal"

"So good bye" she walked out of the door and ran to the swamp when she got there she took of all of her clothes and jumped in suddenly her hair grew longer than ever about 2 times the length of her body and it turned white again and her long bangs became black. Then her wings encircled her and she became a swan.

By the time that finished the guys had gotten to the swamp and saw her clothes then the beautiful swan that they presumed was she. Swayen.

"We are so sorry please come back we love you we need you"

"You were the best thing in our lives please there will be no more yelling or fighting"

"Ya please come back Swayen" they pleaded but since she was a swan she did not understand but she did understand the looks on their faces and their tears meant they were sorry. But the thing was she didn't know how to become human again she never knew how she did it before except she knew that with them she was happy and she felt safe. John stepped in the water and swam towards her she backed away because it was her nature to be scared of humans but he still came closer till he had her cornered. Then he grabbed her and at first she flapped her wings but then settled down and let him carry her to the others. When he put her down the light once again surrounded her and she turned back to the Swayen they knew but she was still naked in front of them and they were 18 year old guy's but John took off his coat and covered her and they all said sorry.

"You know I may be a partially mystical thing but I still have feelings and"

"And you are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen" A man in baggy pants and black shirt, he had blonde hair almost similar to Lily's and 2 short black bangs just like Lily's said.

"My name is Shawn"

"Excuses me but did you say swan or Sean"

"I said Shawn capitol S-h-a-w-n"

"Sorry" Anthony said rudely

"And you my fine lady must be a real Swan"

"No I am Lily"

"Why hello Lily or may I call you Beautiful"

"No just Lily"

"And I'm Rick and John, and Anthony"

"Hello boys"

"Why are you here"

"How did you find us"

"How long have you been standing there"

"Long enough to see that I am not the only swan person in this town"

"What"

"Yes mam I am a swan maiden or actually man" Lily's eyes became big and her jaw dropped open as did the others and then she ran over and hugged the man

"Wait Lily you don't know if he's telling the truth or not let him prove it"

"Oh all right I'll prove myself to you boys" in saying that Shawn turned into a swan and back to a man.

"Well then you are real" Lily kissed him with no tongue.

"Lily" all 3 men's eyes grew bigger than their faces in shock

"Did I mention that I learned how to kiss" "And plus the man I know is true and can possibly love is the only one I'll kiss" All the guys thought that Lily didn't like them so with sad faces they turned and started to walk on.

"Wait you guy's" Lily ran towards them but when she went to hug them Shawn took out his gun and shot her in the back mostly on her ribs.

"Lily"

"You bastard"

"I'm gonna beat you down so hard you'll wish you were never born"

"Ha ya right common you should have done that when you first met me"

"What"

"Ya I'm that guy that scared the shit out of Swayen"

"You asshole I'm gonna kill you"

All the guy's started beating on the man but it didn't seem to have any affect till John took the man's own gun and shot him straight between the eyes then John picked Lily up and carried her to the hospital.

In the hospital Lily had surgery on her rib case but she lived and the guys argued quietly about what to do with the dead body but once they heard that Lily was gonna live they quickly bolted into her room to check on her.

"Hey Lily you okay"

"Ya I'm fine why what happened"

"What you don't remember"

"No I don't"

"You were shot"

"Wow I was"

"Ya you could have died"

"No I wouldn't"

"What"

"I can't die if you guy's are with me you're my best friends in the whole world actually my only friends and with you guy's I have learned a lot of things here. Like how to kiss what to eat and all that other crap"

"Well that's cool I guess"

"What's to guess you guys are like my brothers"

"Ya that's what I guessed" all 3 boys whispered that and put their heads down towards the ground.

"What's a matter"

"Nothing were just fine"

"Ya but we have to leave really quick we'll be right back"

"Oh okay"

The guy's ran to the swamp to find not the guys body of Shawn but a red swan it wasn't red from blood it was just naturally red with black blood. The guys looked at it then it just disappeared into thin air. After seeing that they decided to go back to Lily but when they got there she was gone they all panicked and asked a nurse were she was and she said she went home. They sighed in relief and went home to find her watching TV. They made shur she was alright then sat down next to her then she told them that they don't need to act like brothers cause she was old enough to take care of herself at least with some of their help.

In the morning John came to wake Lily up.

"Lily"

"John come lay down with me please"

"Um okay" he sat on the bed next to her and she sat up too.

"John do you love me"

"Ya of course"

"No I mean love me enough to kiss me"

"Do I have to answer that"

"Yes"

"Ya I do" "I have ever since that day we found each other like a fairy tale"

"John kiss me" he leaned over and kissed her till he woke up and found that it was only a dream he smelled food a traveled down to the kitchen to find a whole table of food made by Rick and Lily.

"Wow real food"

"Yep all for you and Anthony"

"What about you 2"

"Oh were going to a restaurant to eat after someone gets dressed" Lily looked at Rick and he said

"Hey you ain't ready either" they both ran up the stairs laughing and Rick looked at the other 2 and smiled a small smirk and ran up with Lily. When they both got to their rooms (oh ya Rick and Anthony moved in with John) Lily jumped on her bed and Rick got on too. He pined her arms to the bed and kissed her neck.

"Rick what are you doing"

"Kissing you" "Don't you want me to I mean I have been dreaming about you to long to pass this moment up"

"What moment"

"Rick get off me you are like my brother and I don't want my brother kissing me like that"

"I'm sorry your right" Rick got u and went to his room and changed he went downstairs and waited for Lily. After calling her name 6 or 7 times she came down in a short dress with her hair in a long ponytail.

They all told her how beautiful she was and her and Rick went to breakfast. When they got back they were still silent but then started to talk to each other again and laughed it off. They all talked and then Lily went to take a nap they watched her disappear behind the wall and then started to talk.

"I can't stand it any more she is like the hottest girl I have ever seen guys don't even know her and they just come to see her and ask her to dinner and stuff and she doesn't even know what they mean by it"

"Look you guys she doesn't want us like that so we should lay off"

"I had a dream about her last night that we kissed in her room and she was so beautiful and t was so real till I woke up then I asked her to breakfast."

"You had that dream too"

"Ya I had the same dream and another one were she came into my room and we well you know"

"God me too it drives me nuts what about you john what dreams have you had of her"

"None except the one last night"

"Your kidding me I can't stop thinking about her"

The guys talked about this till john walked to the kitchen then turned around and stopped looked at the stairs and saw Lily peeking down once she saw him looking at her they both jumped.

"What were you doing there"

"Um I was um"

"Did you hear us this whole time"

"Yes" she lowered her head and said sorry to them. They said it was okay and that they were sorry.

"For what"

"For talking about you"

"Oh I didn't hear that much I only saw John get up and walk to the door. Oh and one dream where I kissed you guy's" they were all embarrassed even Lily.

"Um I have something to confess you guys" "I had that same dream"

Anthony and Rick smiled but John just walked out the door. Lily ran after him.

"What's wrong John are you mad at me"

"No I'm just tired"

"Do you need some rest"

"No not tired like that I'm tired of you I can't sleep it's hard to eat and I can't stop thinking of you"

"What"

"I love you Lily I love Swayen I love you" Lily hugged John and said softly

"I love you too."

"Really"

"Yes ever since the day I saw you in that swamp"

"But John I have to leave"

"What why" the other 2 came out and asked if every thing was okay

"Ya every thing is fine but I have to go"

"Go were when will you be back"

"Never" "Bye" "John" she let's go of John and said good bye and walked to each of them and gave them a kiss on their cheeks then walked inside.

They all ran after her asking when and why she had to leave.

"I don't know exactly when but I have to" she walked to her room and locked the door. The guys just looked at each other in wonder and asked John what happened out here he didn't say a word but just went inside and sat down in front of the TV and watched football. At 12 John was still awake but everyone else was asleep. John went upstairs to check on Lily to find that she was gone he looked every where for her then saw her walk out of the shower.

"Ah what are doing in here" Lily covered herself with her towel and caught her breath he said sorry a million times and then Lily ran into his arms and cried.

"John I don't want to go not yet I want to stay with you"

"Then don't go"

"I have to"

"Why"

"Because it's almost time"

"Time for what" "What Lily tell me"

She just hugged him tighter then kissed him on the cheek and settled down.

"The feathers will fall, fall, fall that's what you'll see"

Then Lily walked to her room leaving John in the bathroom confused.

"What did she mean by that?" He thought to himself for a while then went to her door and knocked softly.

"Lily can I come in" "Lily." "You in there." He opened the door and she was gone John went to the other guy's and told them to come with him to look for her. After they searched every where the last place they could think of to go to was the swamp they quickly ran there and sure enough Lily was sitting near the water gazing off into the night.

"Lily are you okay" John went up to her and knelt down and put his hand on her shoulder when he did she jumped up and screamed.

"Hey it's just me"

"Oh you scared me"

"You scared me when you disappeared"

"Oh sorry"

"What did you mean before"

"Oh no"

"What" all 3 became aware that she had walked to the edge of a cliff that they had never seen before.

"Lily be careful"

"Don't fall." Then feathers started to fall like rain from the skies and Lily became naked and her wings did not come but the light did then the same mark that was on her mother came to her and only her hair covered her as she turned to the guy's and said.

"It's alright baby just fall, fall, fall that's what you'll see. When it's time the feathers will fall, fall…" then Swayen's hair became longer then ever and blonde like her mothers her long bangs blacker than the night and she flew of the cliff. But not as her mother did instead of becoming a swan she just turned to feathers and disappeared.

All 3 guy's dropped to the ground and seemed to be crying but weren't. As John was leaving behind the others a feather with the shine on it fell into his hand.

He felt something-wet drop from his cheek and he realized he was crying he kissed the feather and said good bye to Swayen/Lily. To this day he is an old man about 98 and he sill has 2 things 1.a picture of him and Swayen and 2.the feather from her in a golden box with swans.

There is no particular lesson to this story but there are 4 things to it.

A creature so elegant may not look like the rest but they can be the best.

Every girl, even a Swan Maiden just wants love true love.

Life can change in an instant don't let him or her slip away from you.

Take it when you can. (John lost Swayen because he never tried to take her she never died but she did leave him forever.)
