Through The Eye's of A Child

Chapter Two

"Tristy, whatcha been doing?" Pacu asked curiously as he eyed the turtle in the boy's small hands.

"Playing with Tommy." The simple answer from his silent friend.

Just smiled and nodded as the two walked over to the remaining group. Sapphire soon not having much else to do stumbled over to the group. "Hellooooo." She giggled as a few smiled to her. "Saliva! We hafta go get this flower I saw!" She hopped up and down in front of the girl who seemed to be trying to calm the excited child.

"Sylvia." The dark boy corrected.

"Show me where it is then, Saphy." She smiled, ignoring that the young one couldn't say her name properly.

The once group of six now split into pairs of two, the final `left over' went to stand by Starkin, eyes glancing up to his shadowed face for any signs of disapproval. "Hey." He smiled.

"What's up with your hair cut?" The flat answer from him, not bothering to return a greeting to his fellow power hungry friend.

Claude simply blinked eyes scanning his face; the bangs attempted to cover his eyes as he watched the two girls secretly. "My mom decided to help this morning."

That statement got him a smirk, allowing his tenseness to disappear. "My mother does my hair too." He agreed.

He nodded to his agreement, "This night is really warm, well, for winter, don't you think?"

"Yup." He nodded, breathing in the crisp winter air. The Raven hovering above kept it's watchful amber eyes upon the children as it flew higher above, the glint from it's dark wings highlighting the boys below in it's eerie glow.

"What do you plan we do tomorrow?" He asked suddenly breaking the once silent air.

"Some new kids just moved in near our club house, I thought we should check them out first." He said, his ghostly gaze lifting to him now. "But, we'll have to go in the morning, my mother doesn't think we can stay out late on this Sunday because the first day of school is on Monday."

"I see." He nodded. Clearly about to say something else but he had been interrupted by another.

Abruptly Starkin had looked at the two. The small child clinging to his waist as she held up a lilac flower, "Lookit Stawkin!"

He let out a half smile to his bright-eyed sister, "You should put it in your room, it would match your walls."

"Okie." She smiled as she trotted to her side where Sylvia stood. "Saliva helped me pick it."

Sylvia softly giggled and nodded, showing her accomplishment. "Thanks for helping, Sapphire." Starkin said, anything as an excuse for talking to this girl.

"Welcome." She said, smile never leaving her lips.

"Starkin, Sapphire, Pacu!" The yell came in unison with the other, as the children looked separate ways.

"Sylvia, Claude, Tristy!"

The raven gave a final caw to the darkness they had been pried from as he left upon the shoulder of the boy. "Bye, Stark." Was the simple wave from the braided girl. He set a glance back, a soft smile only for her as he walked into the luminous light of his house. Sister carried upon the back of her younger brother as he bid his good night to his best friend, Tristan.

The three split to their separate rooms, the final hall light being extinguished by the awaiting woman. Sapphire lay peacefully in dreamland, Pacu curling into his lump of blankets, Starkin sitting soundlessly upon his ebon mattress. "Ebony, I bid you farewell until morning, or night." He mumbled to the bird upon his shoulder. A deep caw emitted from its onyx beak before it fluttered to its steel barred cage. Resting upon his back, eyes scanning the ceiling before he passed into the realm of dreams.

"Starkin, Pacu, Sapphire! Breakfast Time!" The rushed voice called from up stairs as the bounding of steps came from two rooms. The thud emitting from the young girl's as she fell to her floor only to dart up the wooden stairs. Slowly the child of mystery walked out; simply to leave his home behind and walk across the solid pavement to the house across. Glancing back making sure he was known to be missing before his heavy boots kept a steady clank upon the cement.

The clubhouse only being a few blocks away it wouldn't be a hard walk for them. Knowing the younger siblings he had would wish a meal he wouldn't bother them. Knowing his older comrades would want to come he sauntered over. "Sylvia." The simple call, his voice trailing in the wind to the open window.

"Hm?" The soft blink from inside before she crept to her windowsill. Looking down to the lightly blushing boy she simply giggled remembering she hadn't set her braid in place. How odd this boy got if she wasn't as she had always been. "Coming in a minute." A rushed shout down as she struggled to replace the glossy shoe upon her socked foot. Hopping down the steps to where Starkin had been waiting outside for her. Nodding, a smile as he returned a customary nod.

"Hey guys." The wave from the blond boy as he walked down the porch steps to his friends. Fruit snacks in hand, apparently a quick breakfast as the trio began a pace westward.

"What about, Tristan and your siblings?" She asked keeping up next to him.

"They wanted to eat first, like Claude but they would eat too slow." He mumbled, as Claude seemed ready to defend why he had a pouch of DBZ fruit snacks in his hand.

"My mom made me bring a breakfast, she said I needed more energy if we were going to walk." He grinned; thinking it was a perfectly fine explanation for something that didn't really matter any way.

"Yeah, but we didn't have anything else mobile and quick." Sylvia finished, deciding to help her brother.

With this statement from the girl, Starkin didn't press it further. "Oh." A blank answer as the wooden tree house came into view; the black curtains upon the square window were being blown in the cold breeze. Nearing the large trunk the boy's climbed up, letting the girl climb last for she wore a skirt. Starkin rejoiced in the curtained darkness of the home he cast aside his matching umbrella that only minutes ago shielded him from all un-wanted light.

"Is that them?" Sylvia pointed out the window across the street, and at the sun yellow home where three children were playing in the front yard.

"I dunno, but they do have a sold sign in their front yard." Claude said, eyes watching the small group across the way.

"Hm, Ebony!" He whistled, the Raven immediately flying towards the tree house, dive-bombing perfectly through the window and onto the outstended arm of the boy. "Go." He said simply, message in beak as it flew across the way to the trio.

"What'd it say?" The blond asked curiously.

"You'll find out soon enough." He said promptly as the Raven, soon enough came back with a reply. The attention of the children now averted to the large tree house. All the could see was the shadowed forms of the group through the clouded window.

Ebony landed again, dropping the letter to the ground, it had teared slightly but it was still readable. It read under the curious eyes of Claude,

Who are you three?

We just moved in, I'm Sierra. My Brother, Steevie. And my sister, Suzie.
