To Love You Is to Hate You
Author: Minna KinotomeType: Alternate Universe
Summary: What happens when Ganondorf finds Link as an infant and, instead of Link becoming the Hero of Time and protecting the Triforce, has Link destroy Hyrule and claim what he was chosen to protect. Will one fallen warrior be able to see the error in Link's up bringing or will Link be corrupted by greed and hatred and make evil something he was to make pure?
Warning: Slash is the first warning, for later chapters. No doubt about it. Secondly, Link is slightly (and I mean slightly) out of character. I think the only OOCness Link has is being on Ganondorf's side. Sheik is male and is not Zelda. It's not to slash Link and Sheik together. It's because it's not the timeline for Zelda. Therefore different things happen.
Disclaimer: Does it look like I own Zelda?
It was raining. The smell of burning corpses and wood could be smelled in the thick, putrid air. A woman on horse back was fleeing from a man with red hair and golden eyes. A small bundle was in her arms. It was a baby boy named Link.
The man, Ganondorf Dragmire, wanted the child, knowing this was the one.
He is the one that will either save Hyrule or destroy it, the Gerudo thought with a smirk. And I will use him to bring upon the kingdom's downfall.
The woman, Link's mother, was off the horse and attempting to run into the forest when Ganondorf stopped his horse in front of her.
"You have been running from me for two hours now, Meriya. Your time is up."
Meriya fell at that point, a sword protruding from her back before being pulled out.
The infant was caught by Ganondorf, falling almost off his horse, and rode off back to the fortress.
This will be pleasing. Maybe I will finally obtain what I want using this boy, he thought, the rain coming down in torrents around him.
When he was inside the fortress and in his chambers, a young girl in her twenties was in a "fortress" of cushions, reading a book about witchcraft. She looked up when she heard the thick door slam shut and bowed her head.
"What have you brought this time, Ganondorf?" the woman interrogated in a thick accent that would make anyone not a native barely able to understand the sentence.
He sneered.
"The child of destiny, Nabooru. This is the one who will win the Triforce for me, even if only in part."
She shrugged.
"Go ahead and do that then, Ganon. I have better things to do than use mear infants in a stupid scheme such as yours," Nabooru said as she got up and walked out the door.
"And you're also taking care of that child. I do not want any part of this plan," she added as she went to the library.
Ganondorf looked at Link and smirked.
"Do not worry. I will take care of him all right."
With that he taught Link everything he knew.
Meanwhile, a fifteen years later, a Sheikah boy of seventeen felt something bad happening. His abnormal colored hair was soaked in sweat from the nightmare he had been having, his red eyes filled with fear. He jolted up from his bed and into a sitting position, his heart racing.
"What was that all about? Was it... a prophecy?" the boy, Sheik, asked himself, recalling the dream.
A boy of fifteen years was dressed in black robes, a hood obscuring his face from view. He had in his hands the Triforce, and the once beautiful Hyrule became a dark wasteland of nothing. A laugh resounded in the air, wind blowing around the boy and Sheik.
"Just as my father wanted!" the boy said, holding the Triforce above his head before it shattered into three pieces. "It will be granted."
The wind blew the hood back to reveal...
That was all Sheik remembered. He had woken up before he saw the face! He silently cursed to himself, lying back down onto the sweat soaked sheets.
"I will have to tell this to the princess. It is important that she know," he said, his eyes slowly closing until sleep grabbed him by the wrist and directed him to Dream Land.
At that same time, a boy with blond hair and blue eyes with pointed ears -Gerudo didn't possess- was riding on a horse he named Eskai.
His blue eyes scanned the field he was now riding across -Hyrule Field- to the little kingdom of Hyrule to get the first "present" for his father: The Kokiri Emerald.
"This is the moment Father trained me for," Link said, spurring the horse in the sides as he rode faster to Kokiri Forest. "He knew I was the only one who could do it, and I can."
He was of slight muscular build with oddly rounded shoulders, yet they were broad. His eyes, though innocent, held wisdom from beyond his years. That came from everything Ganondorf had taught him. He was fifteen years old, and it was his duty to place the rightful king on the throne: His own father, Ganondorf Dragmire. Although Link didn't know that Ganondorf wasn't his actual father, but he was too young to know anything else.
He had been taught the ways of killing, murdering, never showing mercy, and today would test those skills of the sword that his father taught to him since he was but a child.
"Today is the day I will make him proud."
Please review! I need feedback for this. Kinda spur-of-the-moment. You'll get the title later on. So.. chapter two shortly, I guess?
