Torin started to back away, but he knew that there was no escaping Alex’s penetrating gaze. “My Lord, of course not. I am but your humble servant.”
“That’s funny, I thought it was I, who was supposed to be your servant,” Alex continued in a low tone.
Torin gulped as he tried to control the shaking of his hands. “I might have been a little hasty on the agreement. If you would like we could ...”
Before Torin could continue further, Alex had launched himself at Torin. Alex grabbed Torin by the throat with his right hand and slammed him into the back wall. Alex’s eyes were full of hate and rage, and the mages quickly readied themselves to defend Torin. Alex’s words were seethed with malice as he spoke. “Stand down mages! You know you don’t stand a chance against me!”
As if on cue, Kiba, Shadow, and Aurora jumped in front of the mages. Their talons were extended and they growled ferociously at the mages. Without waiting for further warnings, the mages instinctively halted their assault. Instead, the helplessly watched as their leader was being slowly choked to death.
Out of the mages, only one solitary set of green eyes seemed unaffected to the events that were happening. Raza watched, unfazed by his masters predicament. It seemed to Kiba, that a small smile was forming around his lips as if he was getting some enjoyment out of it.
“Lad, are you sure of what you are doing?” Kiba asked, wondering whether or not Alex’s actions were for the best.
“Tell me mage, just how much of necromancy do you really know?” Alex commanded, oblivious to all around him. “Answer quickly, your life depends on it!”
Torin’s face was turning red as he struggled for air. Alex loosened his grip tightly so that Torin could answer his question. “Well...I have some theories,” Torin said in gasps.
Alex’s eyes widened as he released Torin, allowing him to fall to the ground gasping for breath. “I am sure my Lord, that with practice...”
“Practice, theories...?” Alex started with a glazed look in his eyes. He turned his back to Torin so that he could face the others. Everyone could tell that Torin was doomed just by the look in Alex’s eyes. Despite their loyalty to Torin, none of the mages were about to do anything to stop Alex. They knew that Torin had crossed many boundaries, and he deserved anything he got. They also knew that if they tried anything, they would only turn Alex’s wrath onto them.
Torin couldn’t see Alex’s expression, and for an instant, a look of relief washed over him. It wasn’t until Alex turned and spoke to him, that all color drained from his face. Alex’s eyes were completely white and the red markings on his face began to appear. A feral growl mixed with his words giving it a deep guttural sound. “That...was the wrong answer!”
Torin backed away in fear as Alex’s demonic form began to consume him. Alex’s skin turned solid black, and the clothes he was wearing began to tear at the seems as his body size increased. His hands turned into talons, his teeth turned into fangs. Horns sprouted forth from his skull and his body was covered in red glowing tattoos. The eternal reminder of the curse that had once bound all of Alex’s demonic powers.
The mages backed away in shock as they watched Alex transform into his demonic form right before their very eyes. Torin begged for Alex’s forgiveness, but nothing was going to deter him from his revenge. Alex grabbed Torin by the throat with his left hand and lifted him high into the air. He then drew his right arm back and readied himself to strike out at Torin.
“Any last words mage!” Alex growled. Torin struggled to break free of Alex’s vice like grip, but nothing seemed to work. Torin’s vision was blurring and soon everything was starting to turn black. He was barely able to get out a few feeble words before waves of unconsciousness washed over him.
“I-I’m sorry my Lord,” Torin whispered hoarsely.
“You’re sorry! I lost my mate, the only person I ever loved, and you say you’re sorry! I put all my faith into you, you gave me hope that I could bring her back only to crush them and you say you’re sorry! Trust me, before I’m through with you, I’ll give you a reason to be sorry for!”
Alex tightened his muscles as he prepared to lash out at Torin. Alex could already feel the sensation of slicing through Torin’s throat, even before he struck. Alex was so blinded by his own anger and hatred that he didn’t even hear Kiba calling out to him. Right before Alex’s taloned hand slashed through Torin’s jugular, his hand was halted by another’s iron grip.
“Stop this lad. This won’t solve anything. All this will do will end up creating an even larger mess,” Kiba advised as he tightly held onto Alex’s arm.
Torin’s lucky that Kiba was able to stop Alex. If not he’d be a dead man by now. I guess these past few days have been harder on Alex than we first thought. He must be really weakened for Kiba to be able to stop his attack like he did. I guess it only makes sense after all he’s gone through. Still, Torin has to be one of the luckiest bastards I’ve ever met. He deserves whatever he has coming to him. A part of me wishes that Kiba didn’t stop him, Shadow thought as he reluctantly watched as Kiba tried to calm Alex down.
Aurora could tell exactly what Kiba was thinking. When he looked at her, she grimly nodded in agreement. Knowing full well that she would’ve loved nothing more that to see Torin’s blood washed upon the castle floor.
Alex’s hate filled eyes turned on Kiba as he tensed his muscles and tried to pull free of Kiba’s grasp. “Let go of me Kiba. This bastard has it coming to him!”
“Aye, I know that lad, but killing him won’t do you any good. Anger brings forth anger, hate brings forth hate, sadness brings forth sadness, if you kill him all you will be doing is creating more hate.”
“Kiba, does it honestly look like I give a damn who hates me. Hell, at one point this entire realm hated me. A few mages hating me is nothing! Especially, if it means I get to kill this bastard.”
“I’ll admit, he deserves whatever you’re planning on doing to him, and he probably deserves worse. Still, killing him won’t do anything. Killing him won’t bring the lass back. Why dirty your hands with the blood of a man who’s so spineless, that he attacks another man’s pride and strikes at him when he is at his darkest hour? Don’t do this lad. He’s not worth the trouble of killing. Besides, do you really think the lass would want you to kill someone in cold blood, just because you lost your temper. What would she say to that?”
Alex’s eyes darkened for a moment and in that instant everyone was afraid that Kiba might have angered Alex further. Instead, Alex lowered his head, allowing his long white hair to cover his face as he released his grip on Torin. Alex raised his hands in front of him and shook his head slowly in sadness and disgust. “I really am becoming a monster. Aren’t I?”
Torin took a breath and was about to say something when Kiba cut him off with a low growl. “Just because I got him not to kill you, doesn’t mean that I won’t!” Kiba promised. Torin gulped and meekly slumped against the wall and fell to the ground.
Shadow and Aurora could sense the pain in Alex’s heart after Kiba mentioned Brittany. They knew that it was the only way to make Alex realize what he was doing, but still, they wished there had been another way.

Author's Note: Sorry for not posting anything new as of late. I've been really busy dealing with some personal matters, but I promise to try and update reguarly. Anyway, right now I'm setting this up for the plot to thicken further down the road. You'll soon be wondering what's going on and probably cussing me out for not giving you guys the slightest clues, if you're not already. I'm evil like that. Also, soon, very soon, the story will start taking a drastic change. It will involve more bloodshed, more gloom and doom, more psychotic tendencies, and a lot of freaky stuff in general. So, if you can wait a few more chapters the story will start picking up pace. Take care, catch ya later.
