In a matter of seconds, the battle began. Three demon’s came upon Alex from the side. Each one armed wit a weapon made of demon bone. One, a boar demon, carried a large axe. Another was a minotaur with a mace, and the final was a jaguar demon with two blades. The jaguar was the first to get in and try to attack Alex. The demon swung it’s twin blades in a secession of several quick slashes. Each one nearly catching Alex off guard. The blades moved in a blur of motion, with Alex barely able to dodge them each time they came across. Alex ducked as a blade cut the air right above his head, which left his left side open to the demon’s other blade. Alex placed his hands on the ground, and quickly did a make shift hand stand. He twisted his body quickly, letting his right foot knock the blade out of the demon’s hand, and his left foot connect with the demon’s face. Before the demon fell, Alex was already back on his feet. The moment he did so, however, he had to throw his hands out to stop the demon with the mace.
Alex barely managed to grab hold of the mace, before the demon implanted it into his skull. The demon snarled with rage, and with strength that surprised even Alex, the demon broke Alex’s grip on the mace and quickly swung himself around to try and land a blow on Alex’s right side. Alex jumped out of the way of the fast moving mace, barely able to escape its impact. The second Alex moved however, he saw the demon press something on the mace’s handle, and he heard the sound of something detaching itself. He instinctively moved before he saw it. A second later it would’ve been too late. Alex hit the ground and shoved himself over to the far right, just as the top of the mace came speeding at him attached to a metal chain.
“What the Hell is it with everyone carrying a damn weapon? Why in the fuck does every asshole I meet who wants to try and kill me, always has a damn weapon?” Alex cursed. He crouched down low, watching as the demon yanked his spiked ball and chain back to him. He spun the weapon menacingly, waiting for his chance to strike.
After a second, the demon still did not attack. It was then that Alex realized that the demon was waiting for something. Alex heard the rustling of leaves behind him followed by a rush of wind. He reacted in an instant, ducking low and kicking out the demon’s feet who stood behind him. The demon fell forward, axe still aimed for Alex. Alex quickly grabbed onto the staff of the axe, and in one fluid motion used the demons momentum to throw him away from Alex. Alex flipped back onto his feet, and before the other demon could recover, Alex yanked the axe from his hands, and flipped it around. Alex delivered a punishing blow to the demon’s skull with the blunt end of the axe, just enough so that the demon wouldn’t be interfering anytime soon.
With axe in hand, Alex turned to face the demon with the spiked ball and chain. Alex turned just in time as the spiked ball was launched at him once more. With lightning quick precision, Alex flipped the axe so that the chain would wrap around it. He then stabbed the axe head into the ground and grabbed a hold of the chain. Alex struck at the chain with his claws, shattering it and leaving him with the control of the spiked ball and what was left of the chain. Alex spun the spiked ball and glared at the demon, who now started to slowly back away.
“You see, this is why you don’t use weapons. You never know when some sadistic bastard is going to come and take your weapon away from you. But don’t worry, I’ll be nice. Here, you can have it back,” Alex said. He quickly released the spiked ball, sending it sailing toward the demon.
The demon quickly threw up both his hands and caught the spiked ball. Even though the spikes tore at his hands and the momentum threw him backwards, he was still able to stop it. Before he got to do anything else, however, Alex jumped up into the air and landed a powerful blow to the demon’s head. Knocking him out instantly.
“Amateurs,” Alex said, shaking his head as he did so. He looked into the darkness, trying to see what would be the easiest way to escape from. Instead of finding an escape route, he found a familiar form staring back at him a little ways off. Alex’s eyes widened in surprise to see her standing there giving commands to the troops.
Aurora, I guess some of what I head wasn’t a lie. Her and Shadow must have come here to kill me. No telling why, but I’m pretty confident that whoever has been controlling my strings has also had some influence in them as well. I’d better make sure that nothing happens. I don’t want to get into a fight with her. That would only complicate matters further, Alex thought.
Before he was able to duck into the shadows, he heard Aurora yell out a command.
“There he is. Kill him no matter what the cost!” Aurora shouted.
Alex quickly turned around to greet the sound of approaching footsteps. What greeted him, was well over three hundred demons, all of which were charging toward him. Alex knew that he could out run them, but before he moved to run, something caught his attention. Cherish’s body was right in the path of the onslaught of charging demons. Her body had for the most part been covered up by mud and water that had been sloshed around during his previous encounter with the other three demons. If he hadn’t known where her body was, then he probably would’ve never seen her.
“Shit!” Alex cursed as he made a mad dash for her body. I’m not going to let any of those filthy demons dare touch her.
Alex was almost within distance of her, but right before he could reach her, Aurora flipped over him and landed right on top of her corpse.
“You’re not going anywhere, Alex,” Aurora commanded. She stretched her claws out, getting ready to fight to the death if necessary.
Alex’s eyes widened as he watched Aurora trample Cherish’s remains. His demonic energy began to spike drastically as his anger began to boil. “Get off of her,” he whispered.
“What the Hell are you talking about?”
“I said, get off of her!” Alex yelled. Aurora was so stunned by his sudden outburst that she was thrown off guard. Alex grabbed hold of her face with his hand, and with one quick motion, threw Aurora clear across the field, and into the stone remnants of one of the buildings. The force of Aurora’s impact shattered the wall instantly. Alex knew that he probably hurt her, but he didn’t care right then. The only thing he cared about was Cherish.
When Alex looked down to check her body, he saw a shadow coming down from above him. His reactions worked faster than a thought, and he shoved himself out of the way; just a spear wielding demon came crashing down right where he had been. Alex’s eyes widened in a horror as the demon’s spear created an impact from his attack. Which, instead of hitting Alex, landed on a different target.
The demon lifted up his spear and cussed. At the very end of the spear where the blade was, Cherish’s mangled body hung limply from it.
“Damn humans. I can’t believe we’re going through all this trouble for this whole pathetic lot,” the demon stated. The demon roughly grabbed Cherish’s body and ripped her off of his spear, and then threw her body to the ground. He glared at Alex and readied his spear. “Now that’s better.”
Had the demon been a smarter one, he would’ve realized that his other teammates were no longer by his side. They stood away from him, watching Alex with a wary eye. Alex hadn’t moved a muscle since the demon had tried to attack him. Alex’s body was shaking with bottled up rage. His demonic aura began pulsating wildly, which was the demon’s first indication that something was wrong.
“What the Hell? What happened to piss him off?” the demon yelled to his comrades. When he looked back at Alex, his entire body refused to move. He was frozen in place by the look on Alex’s face.
Alex’s eyes were a steely blue, and the bloodlust the was being emitted by him, froze the demon in his tracks. Alex was breathing heavily out of pure rage. His fists were balled up so tight that blood began to drip from them. When he was finally able to speak, he knew what he wanted. “You, will pay for that.”
Alex roared as he began to transform. His ebony skin and red tattoos made him an ominous presence indeed in the darkness. His horns almost seemed to glow, as did his eyes. He glared evilly at the demon who had harmed Cherish. He licked his lips, wondering what the demon’s blood must taste like. He stopped for a second stared at the demon, a cruel smile spreading on his lips. “I can tell it in your eyes. You’re thinking that since I didn’t kill the other demons, that I wouldn’t kill you. Am I right?”
Before the demon could respond, Alex held his right hand out for him to see. Three red tentacles burst forth from his hand and pierced themselves in the three demon’s hearts, killing them instantly. The moment the tentacles returned back into Alex’s hands, he turned his attention back to the demon. “Well, that was before you pissed me off!”
Alex lunged at the demon. His claws tore through him like he was nothing. So long had it been that Alex had last called on his demonic power, and actually used it to its full extent, that he momentarily forgot how to control it. The demon was reduced to nothing but mincemeat in a matter of seconds. Alex quickly licked the blood from his hands before turning to the others. “Come now, I thought you were here to kill me.”
“We are, and trust me my friend, we shall succeed,” Raion said, stepping out of the darkness holding the wounded Aurora in his arms.

Author's Note: Okay, let me clarify this real quick. Alex wasn't going to fight them until they happened to mess with Cherish's body. That's when they pissed him off and that's when they signed their own death warrants. Please review! Catch ya later!
