[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Alex waited a second, and never felt the sting of the blades hitting his neck. He did however, feel something on his back and shoulders, and he could hear the stunned and shocked gasps coming from everyone around him. Alex could feel the Devil Armor, but he felt in a different way than before. Usually, he used it just as an extra layer of skin, never really delving deep into what it could do because of the double edge ability that it had. Now, however, he truly felt as if the Devil Armor was a part of him. As if it was an extra limb, or better yet, another manifestation of himself.
When Alex opened his eyes he saw the demons who had been ready to kill him, being suspended in the air by red tentacles that had ripped through their skull. Alex noticed that the tentacles jutted out from his shoulder blades and his back.
“What the Hell was that?” Raion asked in shock.
“I-I don’t know. He’s never done that before with his armor,” Aurora stammered.
Alex stared at the tentacles protruding from his back. He then looked up at Raion and smirked. “Well now, this is new. Wow, sometimes I surprise even myself.”
Alex closed his eyes once more and tried to see if he could use the tentacles once more. He tried to think of them as nothing ore tan extra limbs, but still the sensation he was feeling because of them made him uneasy. Regardless of that fact, however, Alex knew he didn’t have any other choice. In a way, he was like a child opening up a new present. Excited about what he might get, but nervous at the same time.
These are my powers. All of these, my demonic powers, these crystals, and the Devil Armor, they are all a part of me. They are all my birthright. Destined to me on the day that my father and Scion created me. The day they gave birth to the Devil that was known as Razriel. Now, I mustn’t be afraid. I can’t afford to feel such weakness. Especially when I might be facing an opponent far stronger than me. I will leave with this fear of my Devil Armor consuming, unless I see whether I control it or it controls me. There’s only one way to find this out.
The four tentacles on Alex’s back broke apart into ten separate ones. Alex could sense every tentacle. He could sense where they were positioned and knew what he was going to aim for. With a simple thought the tentacles launched themselves away from him. They stabbed through the chests of every last one of the Gigantes that were holding onto the chains that bound Alex. The tentacles moved in impulse, as if they were extra appendages. They effortlessly sliced through the Gigantes and they shattered the chains that bound Alex.
Alex opened up his eyes once more and had the Devil Armor retreat back into his skin. He smiled wickedly at Raion. “I Think I might be getting the hang of these.”
“You’re a monster,” Raion cursed.
“No, I’ll show you a monster. You wanted to see my true power, you wanted me to fight with y all, well this is just for you,” Alex sneered. He turned his head and glared at the two elves, which were still desperately fighting to control him. Alex slowly began to move his arms, and then his legs. The strain on the elves faces were evident as Alex continued to move. When he had finally turned around to face them, he already had his arm pointing toward them. “Raion, if you want to kill me, I suggest you hurry and do it. Otherwise you won’t have any men left to fight with.”
Even as Alex said these words he was allowing the Devil Armor the creep slowly over his body. It consumes his legs, workings its way up to his chest. After that it worked its way over his arms and neck. Alex winced lightly as he fought to gain control of the armor’s bloodlust that was starting to seep into his brain and threatened to take over. Alex mentally forced the Devil Armor away from his neck, and shoved it back down part of the way down his chest, leaving only a portion of it not consumed by the armor. Alex was visibly concentrating on the armor more than the men around him, whom most of which weren’t going near him unless they had too. Alex’s breathing began to slow and he seemed to relax.
“Now, there’s only one thing left to do before this party can really begin,” Alex said with a smile. Suddenly the Devil Armor launched razor sharp tentacles out of his right hand, which was still pointed at the elves. The tentacles stabbed through the elves, who’s eyes were bulging out in shock and pain, and the proceeded to rip the to pieces.
“Kill him. Kill him!” Raion shouted. Still, his shouts did very little. The demons that were able to charge Alex were instantly sliced in half by the Devil Armor, which acted almost like a whip. It extended his reach far beyond his own imagination. Allowing him to slice down foes who were up to ten feet away from him, just with a flick of his wrist. Blades, spears, knives, and arrows all shattered against Alex’s skin. Even the demon’s own claws and fangs were powerless to hurt him. He tore through their ranks as if they were nothing ore than wisps of air against his might. Alex’s eyes gleamed with murderous intent as he activated the power of his crystals. The tattoo’s that had once served as a seal for his powers glowed like burning fire in the darkness.
Even with harnessing this power it’s still going to take some time for me to kill all these bastards. That’s time that’s wasted from me trying to find the demon who could control me. At the very least this is giving me some good practice at harnessing the power of the Devil Armor. Besides, this is starting to get fun.
That thought should’ve told Alex that something was wrong. During the heat of battle the Devil Armor had once again began to spread throughout his body. Alex ran past one demon, his Devil Armor jutting out from his arm like a blade allowing him to slash the demon in half without any struggle. Alex skidded to a halt just as Aurora and Raion launched themselves at him. Alex smiled wickedly and used his Devil Armor to stretch his arms and catch them in mid-air.
“Oh no, I’m saving you too for later,” Alex said with a smirk. He then slammed both their bodies back first into the rock hard ground, creating miniature craters where they lay. The remaining demons that actually could fight and were alive and weren’t already missing two or more of their limbs, were few and far between. Still, those that could fight amassed for one final attack upon Alex. They knew they were dead men regardless of what they did, but they were trained to die with honor and to fight until the end. They weren’t about to let Alex kill them without putting up one Hell of a fight in the progress.
Alex smirked as they jumped into the air aiming to come crashing down upon him. In a blur of motion, several red tentacles shot out from all over his body. Alex closed his eyes as he heard the screams of the soldiers as his tentacles stabbed through their bodies. When he opened them, he had forty or so demons suspended in mid-air by his Devil Armor. All of the demons were killed instantly, seeing as how the tentacles either split their head or went for their heart.
Alex turned to the moving forms of Aurora and Raion, both of which were getting up slowly. When they saw what Alex had done, they both stopped and stared in shock and horror. Their expressions caused Alex’s smirk to increase as he retracted the tentacles back into his body, letting the bodies fall to the ground.
“Me like,” Alex said as he started to walk toward Aurora and Raion. “Now, it’s your turn!”
“Dammit! Aurora, I want you to get out of here,” Raion said suddenly.
“Wha-what! Why?” Aurora stammered.
“I promised Shadow I would protect you. Let’s face it. If you stay here we’ll both die. I’ll distract him and you run,” Raion said sadly. “If my men were defeated so easily by this monster, then what hope do we have.”
“You must be out of your fucking mind if you think that I’m just going to leave you like this. You know that if we don’t kill him this whole realm is doomed. What’s the point of running if I’m going to die anyway?”
Raion smirked and nodded. “Fine then. We’ll die fighting, but follow my lead.”
“Whatever you say.”
“Good, then lets go!”
Alex stood deathly still as he watched the two demons charge him. Truth be told, he wanted to see just what they were capable of. “Come to me said the spider to the fly.”
Aurora suddenly sprinted ahead of Raion and right before she got to Alex she hit the ground and slid toward him. Before Alex realized what she was doing, she kicked upwards, hitting Alex straight in the jaw and launched him into the air. Right as Alex reached the peak of his arch, Raion was upon him. He slammed his fist as hard as he could, right into Alex’s face. Thus, sending Alex crashing toward the ground.
Alex’s Devil Armor shot out from his back and acted as a cushion. The tentacles stabbed into the ground and he easily managed to flip over into a standing position. The moment his feet hit the ground, Aurora was back upon him.
“Why won’t you die?” Aurora cursed as she went to attack him.
“A better question is, why do you want me dead so badly?” Alex asked. When Aurora went to punch at him, Alex grabbed hold of her arm and slung her to the ground. Aurora winced in pain, and Alex knelt beside her and whispered in her ear. “I should kill you now for betraying me.”
“Leaver her alone!” Raion roared.
Alex looked up and smirked as Raion came toward him. “Lucky for you, I am more interested in the lion right now. I’ll deal with you later. That way I can have more fun with you.”
The moment Alex turned around to face Raion, a fist connected with his stomach. Raion twirled around, and caught Alex in the side of his head with his foot. Raion assaulted Alex with several punishing blows, but before he could do any real damage to Alex, he was stopped in mid attack by one of Alex’s blood red tentacles which had formed a shield in front of him.
“What the Hell?” Raion cursed.
