Fan Fiction ❯ Travelers In the Dark ❯ Of Wizards and Nazgul ( Chapter 2 )
Travelers in the Dark
Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to The Lord of The Rings, though I wish
I was a cast member of the movies (Hey--18 months shooting LOTR would
be sweet!!! I would be some damn cool elf). I do not own the characters in
the Lord of the Rings books, but I do own:
Mike (not his real name)
Perk (pronounced as it sounds)
Heero (Thunderfox helped me with this character) (pronounced Hero)
Callo (pronounced Kallo or just Kal--as he is always called)
and any other character I put in that is original.
Chapter 2
Of Wizards and Nazgul
Gandalf clung to Shadowfax's mane. "Faster!" he yelled taking a
glance at the figures behind him. Five horses and their riders were chasing
after the wizard. He glanced to his right. Slightly behind him and trying to
keep up with him, was his apprentice Heero.
"How are managing, Heero?" asked the Wizard.
"Fine, but what are these demons?" asked Heero in reply.
"All will be revealed at a later time, but for now, fly!" yelled Gandalf
increasing his speed. Heero was forced to speed up to try to keep up with
his mentor. The five chasing the two screeched, screamed, and hissed at the
fleeing wizards.
"Quickly now!" yelled Gandalf. "A little further and the power of the elves
will protect us from these foul creatures."
Heero and Gandalf raced into the forest just outside of Lothlorien.
Once they had passed the first row of trees, their persuers came to a
screeching halt before the trees.
"How? Why?" asked Heero stunned.
"Elven magic forbids them from entering into the forest and city of
Lothlorien," said Gandalf.
"Who are they?" asked Heero.
"The elves or those who were chasing us?" asked Gandalf.
"The riders," said Heero.
"As I said earlier, all will be explaied at a later time," said Gandalf. "First,
however, we must find the Greenleaf estate. I always seem to miss it or
mistake it for somewhere else."
"Um...sir," said Heero steering his horse in front of Shadowfax, "I think we
are here."
"Gandalf?" called out a voice. "Is that you?"
"Yes, Mike Greenleaf, it is I," replied the wizard getting off his horse.
"Wha--Why--How--What in God's name brought you here?" asked Mike
running over to the wizard.
"I shall explain things to all of you tomorrow," said Gandalf. "My, how big
you have grown!"
"My dear Gandalf, it has been 4 years since you last journeyed to Lothlorien
when I was here. Last time you came, I was at the Shire. The time before
that, I was in Minas Tirith. The time before that, I was in Rivendell. You
always seem to miss me," replied Mike.
"It has been a long time. I have grown older..." said Gandalf reflecting on
something in his mind.
"You might have grown in age, but you don't look it. You seem close to
untouched," said Mike.
"Thank you," said Gandalf. "Where is your father at this hour?"
"Sleeping," replied the elf.
"And why aren't you?" asked Gandalf.
"I can't explain it. Something doesn't seem right. Something evil ahs risen in
the darkness of Mordor," said the elf gazing into the distance.
"So you have felt it too," replied the wizard. "One less person I have to try
to explain it to."
"Two," Mike cut in. "Perk knows also.
"Even better," saod Gandalf. "We shall speak about it later. Rest now. Rest
Mike."
[Chapter 2 is DONE!!! YAY! lol...I have a surprise for you all!
In the next chapter I will ahve Mike and Perk conversing some in Quenya (a
form of Elvish). I know people will be yelling : "I CANT READ
THIS!!!!!"...I will be adding translations as footnotes.
Others will be yelling: "NO ELVES SPEAK QUENYA ANYMORE!!!"
Well, in my story, they do, since I don't know how to speak Sindarin.
Quenya is like the Latin of Lord of the Rings Langauges. It was spoken by
high-elves. So brace your self for some Quenya!
