Fan Fiction ❯ Ultimate Spirit ❯ A Legend is Born ( Chapter 1 )
Disclaimer: Even though I own most of the characters, I have to put a disclaimer here for the character `iMac'. I did not create the character (I got it from a picture I saw on the `net). The picture is called iMac Girl, created by Satoshi "Toy" Igarashi (Satoshi-san, if you're out there… don't sue. ._.; I'll change the character. ^^;).
Rating: PG-13 (Slight language, violence)
Type: Action
Please Read and Review. No flames! If you are just gonna flame me and not even read over my fic then don't say anything. There's a fine line between criticism and just plain ignorant complaining over something you didn't even read.
Enjoy.

Ultimate Spirit - Chapter One (1) - "A Legend is Born"
"Choose your destiny, it becomes your fate,
choose which path you shall take.
Will it be Fire?
Will it be Ice?
You may choose one,
only one.
Choose wisely."
- IcyFlame (me); "Decision of Fate"
*****
"Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire,
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate to say that for destruction of ice is also
great and would suffice."
- Robert Frost; Fire and Ice
Prologue
Legend has it that before the Battle of the Sacred Crystals, the Demi God Rekenrou combined his powers of Existence, Time, Space, and "the Real", creating a being who could handle the powers of all the Demi Gods…
…that legend just happens to be true.
A large white egg sits atop a large silver pillar; four statues protect the egg from harm at all sides. A figure looks up at the egg, his red hair shining in the light.
`Hmm… I wonder… is it gonna hatch today? It would be kind of ironic if it did… his father fused with Hiroshi on this day.'
The figure is Tavern Matsuki, the Demi God of Fire. Tavern is dressed in a loose fit jumpsuit with the words `Tavern' written in Old English. The letters seem to be printed in fire text. He wears a long black trenchcoat with a flame pattern on the ends of the sleeves. He also has sunglasses that nest in his spiky red hair. He appears to be 23 years of age. His reddish-orange eyes look up at the egg once more before turning to leave.
Tavern chuckles to himself. As he turns to walk out, a sudden gust of wind knocks him off his feet and sets him gently next to the pillar.
"Hah! You need to learn not to let your guard down," before Tavern stands a beautiful young girl, "you could hurt yourself."
The girl is dressed in a skintight black leather suit, with metal armor for the breasts, shoulders, knees, and groin. Gloves with metal knuckle rings complete the outfit. She appears to be 20 years of age. She has pink hair. A small smirk appears on the girl's face as Tavern scowls at her. "Raven! Don't scare me like that!" Tavern growls.
Raven Mitsushima, the Demi Goddess of Wind, glares back at her brother. "Well there's no need to yell ya know… it's not like I can't have a little fun myself." Raven stares with her bluish-white eyes that sparkle from the lights around her. Suddenly the egg atop the pillar begins to rattle and shake; Tavern and Raven look up at the egg, eyes wide. "I-I-It's hatching!! Quick everyone!! It's hatching!!"

Two other demi-gods appear in a flash of light. One is a male demi-god with white/silver angel wings; he wears a long black trenchcoat with a white T-shirt underneath. His hair is long and spiky with an icy blue/silver color to it. He is Sabre Myuutoro, the Demi God of Water/Ice. He appears to be 24 years of age. Looking up at the egg with his icy blue eyes, he smirks.
The other is another male demi-god. He is medium-sized with platinum blonde spiky hair. His green eyes look up at the egg as if to say `It's finally happening...' as his black angel wings lie flat against his back. He wears a black T-shirt and a white trenchcoat on his fairly muscled body. He is Hiroshi Hitomishu, the Demi God of Darkness. He also has the powers of Reality as well. He appears to be 29 years of age.
"Great, now we can finally get this waiting over with!" the one with the black angel wings says, a hint of annoyance in his voice.
"Oh shut up Hiroshi! He is your son ya know!" Tavern growls back, "How mean can you-"
Hiroshi suddenly grabs Tavern by the collar of his shirt and slams him against a wall. His green eyes have a glowing tint to them as they stare into Tavern's. Tavern glares back.
"Look… of you want to keep living you will never address that… that…" Hiroshi looks at the egg as the shell begins to chip away in confusion, "…whatever it is as my son! I am Hiroshi Hitomishu! I am the Demi God of Darkness and Reality and-"
Tavern is about to interrupt when the egg cracks completely open. There sits a small silver-scaled dragon. A blue jewel shines on his forehead. He has grey horns, black talons, and yellow stomach scales.
The baby dragon looks at the four demi-gods from atop the pillar with his sky-blue eyes. His sky-blue eyes then look over at Hiroshi and Tavern. He smiles and spreads his small wings and slowly flaps them, elevating himself a little. He slowly flaps his way over to the two and perches on Hiroshi's head.
"…" Hiroshi looks up at the little dragon perched on his head and growls.

Everyone's eyes go wide… all for except Hiroshi's who is clenching his fists and looks like he wants to explode. Tavern gives a small chuckle and reaches for the infant… who promptly snaps at his hand.
"Hey! What gives?! I can't even touch my own nephew?"
Raven and Sabre snicker uncontrollably until Sabre speaks up.
"He probably knows that his father merged with Hiroshi and that makes Hiroshi-"
Hiroshi glares at Sabre and removes the baby dragon from atop his head. He holds him out at arm's length and looks at him. The baby dragon blinks and giggles; squirming around to get comfortable. Hiroshi glares for a second but then a brief look of joy sweeps across his face.
"Hah! You can't really hate the little guy! Rekenrou is merged with you… and his spirit is still alive. He won't allow you to hurt him. So give it up! You-", Tavern blurts out. Raven rolls her eyes at her brother's incessant jabbering.
"Tavern, please shut up. We don't even have a name for him"
"Well what would Rekenrou name him? Sabre... you got any ideas?" Tavern looks at him.
Sabre shrugs, obviously not paying attention to anything. He looks at the leftover half of the eggshell, sitting atop the pillar. Raven growls and walks over to him.
"Sabre, it's an egg… it's empty. I mean the kid's here already. I doubt Rekenrou has anything else in there." Raven points to the baby dragon.
Hiroshi had set the dragon in the arms of one of the stone guardians, who conveniently has its arms out as if it was catching something falling from the sky. He now smiles contentedly, looking over at the eggshell half.
"I wouldn't be so sure, Raven." Hiroshi smirks and walks over to the eggshell and looks inside. Tavern twitches.
"You can't just leave him here! He could fall and-", Tavern begins to yell at Hiroshi again. Raven gives him a warning glare and looks over at Hiroshi.
"Hmm? What's in there?" Raven walks over next to Hiroshi and peers over the eggshell's edge, "Oh my… it's some sort of crystal on a string!" Sabre walks over to Raven as she pulls it from the egg. Tavern carefully picks up the dragon and joins the others.
"Sheesh… how'd I get a dragon for a nephew anyways? He's pretty heavy." Tavern complains. Hiroshi gives him a look as if to tell him to shut up.
"I guess it's supposed to go around his neck. But who could sit on that thing for about a month without having a sore backside… I mean it does have a lot of spikes and such." Sabre exclaims a bit surprised that the baby dragon sat on that for such a long period of time.
"Well for one thing," Raven looks at Sabre then back at the crystal, "he does have scales everywhere I'd suppose… but the real question is… why does he have it? I mean what's a little baby gonna do with a crystal?"
Hiroshi, who now has the baby in his arms, growls. Tavern had almost dropped it about five times already. He didn't want to have anything to do with the dragon but they were right- he was kind of his father and he couldn't hurt him anyway.
"Why don't we just put it on him and name him already! I can't have a kid with no name running around!" Hiroshi growled. This, of course, surprised everyone. Hiroshi slightly blushed a crimson color.
"What are you all staring at? He's my nephew too," Hiroshi's face got stern then got soft, "Besides," he blushed, "I can't hurt him... Rekenrou's spirit is still within me." Hiroshi smiles down at the baby dragon and rocks it gently.
Silence. Everyone stares at Hiroshi for a bit. Who would've thought that Hiroshi Hitomishu has a soft side? Raven shrugs and walks over to the dragon and places the crystal around its neck. The crystal glows a bright white and a sword appears stuck in the ground next to Hiroshi.
"Hmm… I have a feeling that Rekenrou would name him Ryuujin. As for the crystal, I think Rekenrou had something else in mind… something only Ryuujin would figure out." Hiroshi nods to himself, confident on his words.
"Okay… fine. Ryuujin it is then, but how would you know all this? You are still Hiroshi! I mean… it's not like Rekenrou is talking through you… is he?" Sabre says, his icy blue eyes staring straight into Hiroshi's.
Hiroshi's green eyes flicker with a mysterious light and he smirks, "Maybe… maybe not." He snickers to himself and holds Ryuujin in one arm as he plucks the sword from the ground. He turns away from the others and begins to walk away before Raven and Tavern disappear in a flash of light, appearing infront of him.
"Where do you think you're going with him?! You aren't leaving this room with him!" Tavern glares.
"Yea! I mean you better not be thinking of taking him back to the Realm of Darkness with you, `cause you're not!" Raven nods in agreement with her brother.
"You think I want to use this thing in my army? You are so sadly mistaken. In case you didn't realize, iMac and the others aren't here! The Battle of the Sacred Crystals is beginning again! War is breaking out, disease, pain, sorrow, and destruction is present everywhere! The universe is in danger! I'm going to train this little guy just as his father would have done. Correction, what his father is going to do!"
Hiroshi makes his statement and rips open a void in reality. He leaps through it, dragon, sword, crystal, and all. Stunned, the others all look at each other in disbelief. Finally, Sabre speaks up.
"Guys… I think… I think he's right. We should follow him. I mean… if he is right, we'd better go see why this is happening… again."
"Yea, we can also find out what he meant by "What his father is going to do." That's what puzzles me the most." Tavern adds in.
"Hmm… I just want to know what he's gonna do with Ryuujin." Raven says deep in thought. Everyone agrees and they all leap in the void before it closes.
An evil chuckle fills the air; a small demon appears with a small drawstring bag. It looks at the four statues as they glare at him with their ever-staring eyes. It hisses as if it was being weakened and shielded it's eyes. It walks past the statues, unknowing that one of them begins to move. Before the demon can make a step, the statue aims with its bow and arrow. The demon spins around just in time as the arrow pierces its heart. It falls, dead.

-End of Fanfic-
So how'd you like it? It's my second fic (I didn't put up.) that I've written. It's also my longest fic ever. I'm more proud of this fic than my last ones though (This one actually has a plot. *cough*). And I'm actually pasting this one on the net. Please R/R No flames! If you want to put this on your site, e-mail me first! If I find out you put it on there without my consent, I will not be happy with you. :P
