"Failure!" a large booming voice shouted. There was nothing but darkness here, but yet your could hear the rustling of the limbs of trees and the shaking of the ground. "Why have you come back to me this way? Why after your miserable attempts at slowing them down, have you returned?"

"Because you summoned me?" a small voice said back.

"You were supposed to keep them away till I had absorbed all their energy, Drenala. The shadows they defeated were nothing but a means of gathering the energy from them in their sleep. If they are to come to fight me, they will be destroyed I will need to waste more energy in finding new means of fuel," the voice continued on, in a less violent tone. "I never meant for the one they call Yuki to be engulfed. Then again, I never meant for her to come here in the first place. She was too weak to fight. But surely I thought the one they call Darien to fight. His dreams seemed to show strength. His dreams of fantasy worlds in which he was the hero. Admittedly, I failed there. And now that she's here in my domain of darkness, the others will no doubt be after her."

"Please forgive me. I will not fail again," the voice said, growing more confident.

"It's too late! I will have to destroy them, once they come and I will be forced to find more dreamers to fuel my emergence into the real world," the voice of Drezel blared.

Drenala walked closer. She looked up into the black sky, her face covered by the darkness. "It's not too late. I can stop them!" she shouted.

"Fool! Do not defy me!" Drezel responded, the ground vibrating beneath!

A large black arm came down towards Drenala. In response, she simply disappeared, exiting the domain of Drezel.

"You will only be destroyed when they arrive, just like they will." Drezel's voice seemed to echo through the dark.

----------------------------------

Darien found himself sitting on the log, the same log from the dream he had just a few nights ago. His sword reflected the light of the sun as it lay by his side. He looked at it and then looked into the sky. 'Why am I back here again?' he thought to himself. He then turned his head towards the forest. He wasn't sure he wanted to enter it again. Standing up and taking his sword he turned and walked in the opposite direction. The sun was very bright in the field. It nearly hurt his eyes. Just as Yuki had said in his previous dream, there was her home. That is the one she dreamt about.

Darien slowly opened the door. He could see the inside of his class room. 'Strange,' he thought. Megumi was sitting there at the desk to the front of the room. He walked up to the front and as he walked, he noticed that she had a paper in her hand that she was looking down at. Darien slowed down some as he finally approached. She was crying. "Wha-what's wrong?" he asked.

She looked up at him and then showed him the paper, which had a large red 'F' on it. Darien knew this was a dream. He knew she had nothing to worry about. "Megumi, this is just a dream," he said to her.

It didn't hit her for a second that it really was a dream. "You're right," she said putting the paper down and looking at Darien. Her tears started to dry. She looked back down at the paper. "But still, I need to study all the time, so i don't fail," she said, gloom filling her expression, once again.

"But you're out number one student," Darien said. "I'm sure you can still pass, even if you weren't studying so hard."

"But my parents pressure me so much to get these grades," she protested.

"Does it matter? Are you happy getting high grades all the time? Or are you just pleasing your parents?" he replied. It wasn't that much like Darien to have a deep conversation of this kind with someone else. In the dream world and some new confidence, his mind had been changed in this dream state.

She sighed. "I'm not happy, studying all the time. I can get good grades. I do work to hard," she said, in a way to convince herself. A smile slowly came to her face. "I'm a good studier. I can make time for what I want." This time her smile was real.

"By the way, where is everyone else?" Darien asked.

"It's funny that we're not all together, isn't it?" Megumi replied.

Darien nodded.

"Well, we can't just sit here. Let's go," she said. "Forget that paper for now." Her smile continued on her face as they got to the door.

As the two exited the class room, the scene, again, changed oddly. This time Darien and Megumi found themselves in someone's home.

There was some shouting coming from the next room. "Get out of there!" a female voice shouted. Then a little old man ran out from one of the doors in the house carrying a pair of light blue panties stretched out over his head. The little old man laughed as a young girl chased him with a broom, swinging it back and forth at him. The little old man did nothing more than jump and duck with each one of them.

He made an abrupt stop in front of Darien and looked at him weird. "Gotcha!" The girl said, picking him up and removing the panties from his head. She hit him on the head and threw him down on the floor. She then trudged out of the room.

Darien and Megumi just stared at the the little old man. He then, in a puff of smoke, turned into Akito. Megumi's eyebrows folded. "Pervert!" she said, but refrained from hitting him herself.

"I uh...er...that is...Hey it's my dream! What the hell are you doing here anyway!?" he shouted to the two.

"Well, I didn't mean to intrude," Darien said, a little un-confident. "We just sorta...got here, I guess."

Akito just turned his head. "This is just my escape from school. Why do you have to be here?"

"Oh, please. Your grades wouldn't be so bad if you'd just put down those damn mangas," Megumi said, frustrated.

"But school isn't any fun," Akito whined.

"I'm not big on it myself, but sometimes you've gotta suck it up," Darien said.

Megumi looked a little shocked at Darien, even though he was right. The weird thing to her was that he hadn't been this confident before and just thinking about it, she also thought it was unusual the way he talked to her just minutes ago.

Akito sighed.

"Look, I'm not saying you can't read mangas in your spare time, but you've gotta study sometimes," Darien said. His voice still wasn't confident, but his words were.

"Look, Akito, I'll help you. It'll be ok. I think you're just gave up on school work, because you're frustrated with it. I'll show you it's not hard," Megumi said, offering him a little pick-me-up.

"I guess that's ok. It's not like I want to fail," Akito responded.

"Maybe you can show me some of those mangas, once in awhile. To tell you the truth I have a few myself," Megumi said with a slight smile.

"Then you've got a deal," Akito replied with a bigger smile.

"We better look for Otaru," Darien said. "He probably still hates me, though." He wasn't looking forward to finding Otaru, but he wanted to all the same. It was time he they all faced him with the truth that Melissa was a demon.

"Yeah. Maybe we can prove to him you aren't lying," Akito said.

The three walked out of the door.

They came out and behind them was the entrance to a cave. Before them stood a giant green dragon. It was looking straight at them from only a few yards away. It came charging and was prepared to breathe fire. The group panicked, eyes wide and ran back in the direction of the cave.

"What the hell?" Akito yelled. "Why are we running back this way? We'll be trapped for sure."

"Well, was there really any other place to run?" Megumi asked, as they continued to run.

"Do we dare look back?" Darien asked, as he had noticed that the footsteps of the dragon grew faint and then stopped. He looked back, his curiosity got the better of him. "Hey wait. What's that?" He could barely make out a man in a suit of armor. Darien stopped.

The other two stopped two and looked back. The noise of the battle echoed on the cave walls. There were sword clangs, the sounds of fire, and the roar of the dragon. Pieces of the dragon started to fall to the ground. The man in the armor ran the dragon through below it's neck. It roared in pain and almost came down on top of the armored hero.

The three in the cave slowly made their way out again. "Thank you for saving us," Darien said.

"Yeah, thanks," Megumi said along with Akito.

The knight lifted the helmet off of his head. It was Otaru. "Oh, it's you. If I had known, I would have let the dragon have his way with you," he said in an angry voice.

"Look, you idiot. We're weren't playing any games. Melissa is who she is and that's that," spouted Akito.

"Just forget about her. She isn't worth your time and emotion. It's draining you away," said Megumi, sternly, but trying hard to be sensitive about it.

Darien didn't speak.

"What's the matter Dar? Haven't you got anything to say about it?" Otaru spat.

"I just think you're making a big mistake throwing us away. We're your friends. We matter to you. I know we do. We're telling you this for your own good," Darien told him.

"Ha! Real friends, wouldn't lie about the person they love," Otaru shouted back.

In a puff of smoke, and only a few feet away from the group, appeared Drenala. She had black twisted horns coming out of her head, twisted symbols written in pink on her face, and black clothes. Her resemblance of Melissa shown through somewhat.

"It's Melissa," Darien said, seeing through her new form.

"No it's not!" Otaru shouted. "How the hell do you know?"

"Do you not recognize me? I have her hair, her face, everything. The only things different are my markings, my horns and my clothes. Take a closer look would you? My real name is Drenala." she said with a grin on her face.

Otaru closed his eyes and shook his head. "No. I can't!"

"Are you afraid Darien's right?" she added.

"I'm not afraid!" he shouted back to her, this time staring at her. He saw her resemblance. "Y---you are..." he stuttered. He fell to his knees.

The other three ran to Otaru. "You see now?" Megumi said in a soft voice.

"Well, now that you're all together..." Drenala said with half smile on her face. She then threw up her hand. Pink energy balls came to her. She then pointed her palm at the group and shot a web at them. "I'll keep you stuck here till Lord Drezel is ready for you."

The group was caught in a pink glowing net.

"No. There's one thing that I've learned from being with everyone." Darien said, sitting up. "And that's that I can do anything I want in a dream."

Darien tore through the net like it was nothing. "You have no power over us."

The rest of them got back on their feet and pushed the net away. "Alright, Dar. Way to go," Otaru said, realizing how wrong he was. This was his apology.

"And I can make things fall on your head," Akito scoffed with a funny voice, then sticking his tounge out.

"Or can you?" Drenala said in a low voice. She narrowed her eyes. She put both of her hands out. The scenery changed and Darien was all alone. He heard voices. They were laughing. They were saying things. They were things from his past. The pain of growing up before coming to Japan, the names he was called all came back to him.

The rest of the group was all alone, too. They were in the darkness. Fortunately, though, Drenala did not have the power to put all of them in their very own nightmare.

Darien sat there on his knees. His arms wrapped around himself.. His face pointed to the ground, tears fell to the ground. He then fell on his side and curled up. Thoughts of what things had been like for him, just came back. 'My only escape was in my dreams,' he thought. 'That's right my dreams.' He stopped crying, wiped away the tears and stood back up. His face pointing to the ground, he said in a low voice, "I can do anything here. This is my world."

He lifted his head and the voices stopped. Drenala came back into view and so did the others. They were confused.

"What just happened?" Akito questioned.

"Last thing I knew, we were in the darkness and that girl. Did she put us there?" Otaru said, looking all around him.

Drenala looked confused. "You...you saw through those nightmares. But how?"

Darien walked up to Drenala.

She held up her hand. "It doesn't matter. I can stop you right here," she said. She shot a pink bullet out of her hand.

It hit Darien in the shoulder and he fell to the ground. He started to bleed and he clenched up in pain.

Megumi ran to Darien's side and laid him on his back. "You're ok. This is just a dream."

Otaru picked up his sword and sheild that he was using earlier. "No! This is my fight!" he shouted.

Drenala grinned. "A sheild won't help you. This will go right straight through you!" she yelled as she raised both her hands.

A shadow fell up her. "What?" She looked up to see a large red mallet fall. "Dammit," was the last word she uttered before being knocked out.

"Akito, I can handle this!" Otaru shouted at him. He got up close. He hesitated. This was the girl he used to love. He could execute her.

"Otaru! She's nothing but a monster. Do it!" Megumi shouted.

With that he stopped hesitating and ran the sword straight through.

Darien started to smile and his wound went away. "It is a dream. Right," he said.

"We'll probably need to be stronger than this when we face whatever it is that's behind this," Akito said.

"Drezel," Darien said.

"But how do we get to him? Where is he?" questioned Megumi.

"I think he's where Yuki is. Yuki's in his realm of the dream world," he said, thinking over the current situation.

"But how do we get there, Dar?" Otaru asked.

Darien just shrugged.

"Oh that's great. So, we're going to go around wandering aimlessly until we find a way to get there," Otaru said.

"Well, maybe Yuki can help. She's talked to me before," Darien said.

"So, I guess you need to contact her," said Akito.

"I don't know how. She was the one that contacted me, before," Darien responded.

Otaru sighed.

"I guess our only choice is to wait till she contacts Dar," sighed Megumi.

So they waited.
