"So how do you plan to get clothes out of here" Harry asked at they stood on the roof of a building behind a Walmart, the store was clearly closed.
"Simple" replied Maggie casually who as usual didn't look at Harry when she answered a question "we break in through the back door, grab some clothes, then hightail it out fast before security finds us".
"Um isn't that illegal" Harry asked "I mean I know that my memory is gone and all but I still remember that stealing is wrong".
" Of course it's illegal" said Maggie offhandedly as she walked to the fire escape to get back down to the ground "but its not like mutants like us can walk into a store normally and buy clothes, then walk out without a SWAT team escorting us, nope no other way". Maggie jumped passed the fore escape and landed on the ground Harry jumped onto the fire escape and zigzagged down to the ground and approached the back door cautiously.
They stepped warily out of the shadows and ran to the door quickly, Maggie had turned on her camouflage while Harry had taken his stick out and followed looking around cautiously trying to spot an enemy before they got the jump on them both. Maggie crouched by the door and began to pick the lock with her long nails; Harry was standing with his back to her and was keeping a watchful lookout for intruders.
Then the lock clicked open and Maggie whispered an excited "yes" and she and Harry slipped into the store. They walked down a dark hallway that lead to another door, they walked through the door into the darkened store. Maggie looked fearfully at the ceiling and sniffed the air before proceeding further walking silently with Harry steps echoing around them.
Maggie paused and looked around fearfully before whispering, "now we split up and find a shirt and pants you like, try to keep quiet, but don't worry about the black orbs on the ceiling," she motioned to the ceiling "they are supposed to look like cameras, but this place is to big to have a camera system, it would cost to much, now go" and she pushed him towards the guy section before slinking off towards the girls.
Harry was more nervous than he had been so far; he crept to a rack of shirts and looked through them before picking up a shirt with a Technicolor scull surrounded by flames. He removed the hanger and walked over to a rack of jeans and pulled off a pair of black ones. He then crept over to the men's dressing room and quickly changed out of his strange clothes and into the T-shirt and jeans, but he picked up the strange clothes and folded them and decided to keep them for some reason. He picked them up and crept back to the guy's section but was surprised to see Maggie going through the shirts with some pants over her shoulder.
"What are you doing" Harry asked curious to what she would be doing going through the guy's section.
Maggie didn't answer but continued to thumb through the racks of shirts. Then she picked out a black shirt emblazoned with a Technicolor dragon she smiled and muttered apparently to herself "I always wanted a shirt like this" and walked off to the boys changing room. A few minuets later she emerged dressed in the dragon shirt and baggy blue jeans her blood-soaked clothes were discarded on the floor Harry questioned again "what were you doing in guys section?" this time Maggie answered "I don't like girls shirts, they are to body tight for me and they have annoying things like flowers on them, I prefer my clothes baggy, so I always have gotten my shirts from the guys section, well since I was 10 anyway…"
She broke off and fell silent like she recalled something painful and seemed to be on the verge of crying. But then echoing footsteps began to approach them, they quickly ducked out of sight behind a rack of clothes as a fat man dressed in a security guard uniform walked past whistling tunelessly with a flashlight in one hand and a nightstick held loosely in the other. The flashlight beam passed by them and the guard continued on down the hall.
But Maggie didn't let him go further; before Harry could react she slithered out from behind the rack of clothing and leapt at the guard her large clawed foot connecting with the back of his scull and he fell forward onto the ground, bucked once, then lay still his flashlight fell to the ground and the bulb shattered causing the store to go dark again.
Maggie chuckled to herself and smiled at the guard unconscious on the floor while Harry came from behind the rack of clothes and asked slightly angrily "what was that about, he didn't see us at all".
But Maggie just shrugged and said offhandedly "I was board, and if the guy was any good he would have heard your loud breathing, he deserved that, now lets go" and she strode toward the exit.
"That's not the only thing" Harry pressed on following her "back at the building, from what you've told me you could have gotten away without incident but your had to bite the guy, what are you homicidal or something?"
Maggie didn't answer at first but her tone was becoming dangerously quiet as she actually turned to him and answered "I have a mental condition called Sociopath, I means I have no moral conscience, no remorse, I could kill anyone anytime anywhere and not care a bit, I just have nothing stopping me from hurting things". And she promptly turned around continued out of the building leaving a thoroughly shocked Harry follow quietly behind wondering if his `friend' was the best person to associate with.
