1--> Bright Lights

Late at night, the moon was shining at its fullest, the stars shimering off each and every illumination. The winds were down, and the area was peaceful. The water lapped up onto the shore of the little island that the T Tower rested on. A few lights were still on as Beast Boy and Cyborg were battling out another video game. Raven sat reading a new book of dark poetry that she had recently picked up. Robin sat in front of his stereo, blasting the punk rock music. Starfire was trying to mingle with everyone, but not having much luck at it. Slade was gone, Terra was gone, and the whole issue was finally resolved. The tension on everyone's shoulders had been lifted, but Beast Boy's still sunk to the ground. He still had a thing for Terra even though she betrayed them totally. He couldn't help though, convincing himself that it was all his fault that Terra joined up with Slade in the first place.

Outside the T Tower, the water started to separate and the ground shook slightly. Then a bright purple lazer light shown out of the water and it parted. The lazer light was a cylinder shape and about ten feet wide and a hundred feet high. Out of the light a limp body elevated out of the ocean and then it flew out of the light, sending it soaring deep in to Jump City. It disappeared from view and the large lazer light show shrunk and vanished in a matter of seconds. The waters crashed back together, creating larger waves for a about ten minutes, but settled down to like nothing happened.

Out of the corner of Robin's eye, he noticed the bright light, but it was as it shrunk back. Making a doubletake at the waters out of the window, Robin cocked his head to his side. Did he really see what he thought he did? He wasn't so sure about that and wondered if he was still paranoid about Slade. No, that menace was gone...history...dead.

"You OK, Robin?" asked Starfire, walking over towards his side. Robin looked out the window a few more seconds, and then turned towards Starfire.

"Yeah, I thought I just saw something," he said. "Maybe my mind's just playing tricks on me." Star put a concerned hand on his shoulder.

"Maybe you need to rest," she said. Robin nodded and looked back the water.

"Probably..."

The next morning, everyone woke up and went back to their activities. This time, Star managed to get Raven to teach her the art of meditation, and Robin went over towards the training course. By lunch time, Beast Boy and Cyborg went raiding through their food cabinets to find nothing in there.

"You've got to be kidding me," said Beast Boy.

"I joke, but not about this," replied Cyborg opening up another empty door. "Maybe we should go out for some good old fashion pizza."

They gathered up the others and headed out to the city to the pizza parlor. But on the way there, they noticed a group that was blocking a brand new clothing store. Robin and the others looked at eachother as they listened to the troublesome voices that blocked their view of the window.

"How is this possible?" one asked. "That was bullet proof glass!"

"Why would they need bullet proof glass for a clothing store?" asked another.

"Who cares? The point is, look at it! It is totally trashed," said a third.

"What did they steal?"

"It looks like nothing!"

"What! Are they the stupidest criminals in the world? All that trouble to break in and not take anything?"

Starfire, Beast Boy, Robin, Raven, and Cyborg pushed there way through the crowd to see what the buzz was. Their eyes all popped open at the sight. The front window was completely smashed in, the glass pieces scattered all over the place. On the display table just on the inside were traces of blood and more shattered glass. Inside the store, it was completely trashed. Clothes were flung to the ground, things thrown in different locations. The hat rack was lying on its side with all the different hats lying all over the place. The shoe isle had boxes open and shoes lying in miscellanious places. But what was the strangest thing was that the cash register wasn't tampered with at all. And all the doors were perfectly shut.

They each walked inside to get a better look at what had gone on. Robin walked over towards the shoe isle. He picked up a few of the boxes, and noticed how the entire selection was totally mangled with. Raven and Cyborg took the clothing and game to the same conclusion. Beast Boy changed into a dog and sniffed out the counter, but nothing smelt funny or unusual. Starfire wander around for other things. When she got to the dressing room doors, she gasped.

"Guys! Come here!"

"What is it, Star?" asked Cyborg. Star pointed towards the door. It was trashed. Very large scratch marks and indents were sketched into the wooden door.

"What does this mean?" asked Star.

"Some one doesn't know how to work a door handle," said Raven. Robin rose a brow.

"This just looks a little too strange," said Robin. He held his hand up towards the marks. "Look." He moved his hand down the door, following the scratch marks. His fingers lined in the crevices and followed in perfect suit.

"So you're saying someone with really long finger nails did this?" asked Beast Boy. Robin nodded.

"I guess so..."
