Extensive Summary:

Brookelyn Davis is a successful artist and has everything that she could possibly want. Everything except a steady relationship. Her problem revolves around a man she's never met but has been seeing her whole life. No man can compare to the "Prince Charming" she's been drawing since she was seven.

That all changes one day when she meets Sayid Amir in a coffee shop. She scalds the poor man with hot water after bumping into him. He is the man she has been drawing her whole life. Only problem is, Sayid is in a serious relationship, one that was arranged for him by his parents.

Brookelyn's best friend Ben tries to insist that the two are destined to be together and Sayid quickly begins to insist that they knew each other in a past life.

When Brookelyn is commissioned to do a nude portrait and Sayid offers to model for her, sparks fly between them. Now they must face not only the consequences of their actions and the racial barriers between them, but also their parents.

Will Brookelyn's strict traditional mother try to come between them? And how will Sayid's traditional Indian family react to this new found love?

Author's Note (not important to read, only if you want an early glimpse of character backgrounds and pictures):

This will probably be the only not that I am going to write. This story is not something that I would typically write. Even though my fan fictions tend to center around romance and drama, my originals always have a Horror plot, so writing one like this is sort of new to me.

Now when I write, it's like translating a movie that I see playing in my head. I'm a very visual person and I quite often find inspiration for characters from actors that I see. I don't necessarily pick well knowns or even actors that I like. Quite often I look at them as people who I would want to play my characters if a movie was ever made. Because of this I have several reference pictures that help me write, which you guys can look at.

For the Character of Sayid I based him on Naveen Andrews, which is ironic since I recently found out that Sayid is Naveen's character on “Lost”. I first saw Naveen in the movie “Kama Sutra” and then “Bride and Prejudice”. I saw “Lost” a few days ago and it only solidified him as Sayid, maybe it's because the characters share the same first name.

I haven't quite worked out all the personal details of the character, only that his family is both wealthy and very traditional. He is currently in a relationship that was meant to be an arranged marriage. After several arguments with his family he eventually made them realize that it was impossible for him to marry a woman he did not know. The trick that worked was telling them that he didn't want to end up divorced, bringing shame on his family.

His girlfriend is a rich, stuck up brat. I have to name her, but she makes an appearance early. Sayid explains more about her and his family in a conversation he has with Brookelyn later in the story.

For Brookelyn, the first person I thought of when writing her was Liv Tyler. Everything, right down to the voice was dead on the money.

I won't go into Brookelyn's history, because it's explained thoroughly throughout the first few chapters.

Ben was actually not originally a guy, he was in fact a girl. But then I saw Heath Ledger in the Brothers Grimm and as I started writing the character, the more I realized that it should be male.

Brookelyn is meant to be a strong female character with a quick wit and sarcastic humor. She would need another female that is equally as strong, which would make this an over bearing feminist story. To counter act her personality, Ben was born. He is almost a perfect match for her; the reason why these two are not the romantic focus is because they are too perfect for one another. Her history with Ben will be included in the story.

As for the setting, it is in an unnamed city, at least for now. Both Brookelyn and Sayid live in lofts, but for two separate reasons. It would be cheaper for Brookelyn to live and work in the same area. While a large area of her loft is a studio, there is still plenty of room. Sayid lives in one simply for the space.
