PART 2
Rin had managed to get her “father” to agree to let her play with his hair. She was twelve years old and his long flowing hair was just irresistible to her. She loved to brush it, to make braids and other things with it. He only allowed it if she locked the door and they were alone. He wouldn't be caught dead with braids in his hair. But he could sense that it was something with Rin this evening. She seemed tense and she blushed every now and then. He wanted answers so he asked just right out in the blue.
“Rin-chan, I know you are just ready to pop - so what do you want to know?” asked Sesshoumaru and tried not to close his eyes and relax into her gentle touch. He would never admit it, but Rin's grooming was really soothing.
“Uhm… Well, ojisan did s-something today and I think… I think Sango-san really liked it,” mumbled Rin and blushed and let the brush go through Sesshoumaru's thick hair.
“What did you see, Rin-chan?”
“He kissed her…”
“WHAT?” Sesshoumaru practically roared and Rin stumbled backwards. “He did WHAT?”
“H-he kissed her… but not really kissed her just… just a l-light brush or s-something. Not like those k-kisses in Miyuki-mama's books and m-magazines,” stuttered Rin quietly.
“Go and look for the fool, I want to talk to him,” said Sesshoumaru and rose to his feet and began to pace around his room. `He kissed her? And then what? What the fuck did YOU do little brother?' He was a bit annoyed with the fact that his brother had got the first taste of her luscious lips. But on the other hand - he could've gotten it too, if he just dared to do it earlier today.

Rin scurried out of her father's room and called for Inuyasha to come. And soon she was faced with a very worried hanyou.
“Sesshoumaru-sama wants you to go t-to him,” stuttered Rin.
“Why, something's wrong?” asked Inuyasha.
“I… I told him that y-you kissed Sango-san e-earlier today.”
“Fuck, ok… don't worry Rin-chan. He's in his room?”
“Y-yes…”
“Go on and play with Shippou and Souta or help Miyuki-mama in the kitchen, she's making dinner,” said Inuyasha and patted her back. “And don't worry about your papa, I'll deal with him, ok?”
“Ok, ojisan..” said Rin and ran into the kitchen.
Inuyasha sighed and walked over to the room that belonged to Sesshoumaru. `Nii-san, you better behave…' he thought and knocked on the door.
“Inuyasha, come in,” said Sesshoumaru and turned around and saw his half brother enter his room. “Did you kiss the slayer today?”
“Right on target I presume?” sneered Inuyasha as he looked over his older brother. Something was not right… perhaps it was all those strange ribbons in his hair. “What happened to your hair, nii-san?”
Sesshoumaru growled as his right hand shot out and grabbed hold of Inuyasha's throat and pushed the younger half demon against the wall.
“Don't try and lie your way out of this little brother!”
“I wouldn't call it a kiss… I barely touched her, but yes, I let my lips brush over hers, briefly,” coughed Inuyasha as his hands tried to pry the strong hand from his throat.
“Where is the slayer now?” asked Sesshoumaru and let go of Inuyasha.
“I don't know. She left and I don't know where she went…”
“You fool, you probably scare the living daylight out of her. How the hell is she supposed to be our mate if you scare her like that?” snarled Sesshoumaru frustrated.
“She wouldn't had attacked me the way she did unless you had gotten to her first, Nii-sama,” said Inuyasha with a voice filled with venom. “How the hell should I have reacted when she straddled me and demanded where the hell you were hidden? I had my hands full of wonderful female flesh, angry female flesh!!”
“Do you think she will come back here?”
“Of course she will. This is her home now, she has no where to go.”
Sesshoumaru nodded. It was the truth. Sango had nowhere to go but to come back here to the shrine. He sighed and dragged his fingers through his hair to dissolve the braids that Rin had made on him. He could feel Inuyasha's gaze on him and he just turned around. “Not one word little brother… not one word.”
Inuyasha smiled evilly and nodded. `Not one word - unless I can use it as blackmail…' he thought and left the room.

“Miyuki-mama?!!” Sango's voice called out as she entered the hall of the Higurashi-shrine.
“Yes, dear?” answered the older woman and her head came out of the kitchen.
“Where's Jii-chan?” asked Sango.
“He's in the temple at the moment… why?”
“Nothing… I'll help you with dinner when I come back… “
Miyuki saw the slayer disappear again. `What was that all about?' she thought but heard the pot on the stove call her attention. She went back to the kitchen, leaving everything behind except the thought that Sango looked just as if she had a recent meeting with a muse.
= * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * =
Sango found the older man dusting inside the actual shrine. She paid homage to the gods before rushing over to Kohui and hugging him tight. She shocked the old man a bit but then he chuckled a bit.
“My dear child, what's with all this hugging all of a sudden?” he asked but hugged the young woman. He patted her back and gently made her look at him.
“Thank you, Jii-chan. Your friend was just what I needed. And I never thought I would be grateful for someone that could… never mind. Your friend and your little talk after your collapse just made everything possible for me… Thank you!” Sango hugged the stunned old man again before running out of the shrine.
“Now what was that all about?” Kohui asked himself and scratched his head.
= * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * =
Miyuki smiled when she saw Sango come into the kitchen and began to set the table in the diner room. There was something about the young woman that said to Miyuki that there had been a great change. But she wouldn't pry on what it could be. Sango would tell her in due time, she was sure of it. But dear gods, it felt good to know that her adoptive daughter had found some form of comfort for her grieving soul.
“Rin-chan, why don't you go and help Sango-san to set the table?” she asked the soon to be teenaged girl. The bubbly young girl nodded and got a few things and ran out of the kitchen, leaving Miyuki alone.
“Higurashi-san,” a deep voice said and she turned around and saw Sesshoumaru stand in the door way. “The slayer has come home?”
“Yes, she got home a little while ago… why do you ask, Sesshoumaru-sama?” You could see the light teasing in her dark brown eyes. The poor boy had it bad for her “daughter”. And so did his brother. But get them to confess their feelings... You would have better luck to move a mountain.
Sesshoumaru didn't answer instead he walked into the diner room. He ignored Rin's large questioning eyes, and then he grabbed hold of Sango's arm and dragged her out side. He didn't listen to her protests and spitting words. He wanted to have what his brother had just hours ago. He wanted to taste her.
“S-Sesshoumaru-sama, what the fuck is w-wrong with you??!!” yelled Sango the moment they came outside.
“Nothing… I just wanted a taste,” whispered Sesshoumaru and he could see how Sango turned stiff as a board.
“T-taste? W-what do you mean by that?? T-taste?”
“Be quiet, slayer…”
He pushed her up against the wall, his hands took hold of her wrists and he pinned her up so she couldn't move. He sniffed the air around her face and neck before he let his lips descend down on hers. He could feel the light tremble in them and he let the tip of his tongue graze over her lower lip. A light gasp gave him the chance to really taste her and he did not waste any time.
Sango tried to comprehend what was happening. But try and think a reasonable thought when you have a gorgeous demon lord pushing his tongue into your mouth. Sango was not able to think a single thing. Her hands tried to free themselves but she was caught in his firm and yet still very gentle grip. And she was going to be caught like this until the lord decided that he wanted to let her go. She decided it was best not to fight him. Her body became lax and she waited for him to pull away.
Sesshoumaru smirked as he pulled away. She had submitted to him and that made him almost loose his head. “You are one dangerous female, slayer…” he said, his voice low and thick. “And be sure that this Sesshoumaru wants more in the future…”
And with that he left her. Sango blinked a few times before she began to tremble. Not nervously or with lust… but in anger. The bastard had done it again, but this time he would not get away with it. She clenched her hands and ran inside, following the demon lord.
“SESS, come back here!!!” she yelled from the hallway as she looked around, felt around for his demonic aura.
On the other side of the house Inuyasha looked at his smirking brother. “You kissed her didn't you?”
“Yes, I did…” said Sesshoumaru and his smirk widened.
“A real kiss?”
“Yes.”
“You know… it was nice bonding with you nii-san… but face it… you're dead.” Inuyasha began to laugh and headed downstairs when he heard Miyuki call out that it was time for dinner. “Not even Miroku could come close to kissing her… and if he touched her in the wrong place he was pounded into a bloody pulp. You kissed her… really kissed her… I would say… actually you will pray for death before Sango is finished with you.”
Sesshoumaru snorted. He did not fear the slayer. She would not be able to hurt him… would she?
= * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * =
Miyuki couldn't help but laugh softly when she saw the tension brewing between the demon lord and the demon slayer. Ohh, she recognized that glare Sango was giving Sesshoumaru at the moment. Like most women who lived together, worked together or often came together, the two women had synchronized their periods. Sango was not the one to be teased at the moment. Hormones running wild combined with the deadly knowledge of handling just about any kind of weapon… Not the kind of combination you wanted.
“Sesshoumaru-sama, perhaps you can help me later on?” suggested Miyuki. The demon lord had found a place in her big heart like all the others of the odd bunch that had traveled through the well two and a half years ago. And she did not want to see him maimed and skinned alive.
“Of course, Higurashi-san. What would you like me to do?” asked Sesshoumaru politely as he tried not to shiver when he felt Sango's dark green gaze burn his skin. `My brother was right… I'm dead…' He hated it when Inuyasha was right.
“I have a few things I need from the store… you know the one that's open until midnight?” Sesshoumaru nodded. “Good, I need a few things from there, but I will be coming with you, I just need someone to help me carry things, will you be a good boy and help me out?
Shippou and Rin could no longer contain themselves. They began to laugh hysterical and Souta soon fell into their laughter. Sango's lips began to twitch and Inuyasha actual blew his milk through his nose. The tension was broken in a magic flash. Miyuki smiled. She could still do it and that made her proud.
“Sango-san, you were gone for a while tonight, what did you do?” asked the older woman.
“Well…,” began Sango and rose to her feet and looked over her family. Yes, this was her home now and she would do anything to keep it like that. “A couple of months ago Ayumi-san took me to a very special place. A very special place that she had not brought one of her ordinary friends. It seems that Ayumi had a few secrets from Kagome-chan. This place is a weapon-shop combined as a bar. And the owner is a good friend of our Jii-chan here. Kyouji-san was the one that without words helped me out. And you Jii-chan should know not to drink and talk at the same time,” said the slayer and giggled a bit.
Kohui blushed and knew what she meant. He mumbled out an excuse.
“Anyway… He let me talk… I know you all here have been very worried and you have tried to taken care of me and handle all my mood swings and I thank you for that. But now… thanks to Kyouji-san, I have stepped over the threshold. And I think I will like it here.” Sango's smile got more radiant by the second.
The others just gaped at her proclamation. But then Rin, Shippou and Souta rose to their feet and walked around the table and hugged the slayer. They cried happily and told her that they were so glad that she finally had come out of her shell, that she finally had gotten over what happened in the past.
“I'm proud of you, daughter,” whispered Miyuki as the children moved away. “Very proud…”
“Thank you, Miyuki-mama,” said Sango and hugged the older woman.
Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru felt a bit outside but the truth was… Sesshoumaru didn't dare to approach the slayer at the moment, and Inuyasha… no, he was not sure that he was safe either.
The dinner continued under normal circumstances. Sango felt good. Ohh, it was just like she had been reborn or something. She understood what they all had tried to tell her during the past two years. She did… but now… now it had happened and now she really wanted to live… LIVE!!
“Miyuki-san… c-can you help me call Ayumi-san in the morning… I really want to… Y-you know?” asked Sango and smiled with a vibrant blush.
“Of course my dear. Ayumi-san will be happy to hear that you have regained your spirit. She was quite lost when she came back with you after that last time. I'm sure she wants to be your friend,” said Miyuki.
“G-good… She's a very nice girl.”
“She is… she is… “
But that did not sit well with the two inu-brothers. This meant that the suicidal driver was going to take their little alpha female around this stinky town again. Two pairs of golden eyes met in a secret, promised mission. This time they would not loose their target.

The autumn turned into winter and the snow began to fall over Tokyo. Sango was once again alive and vibrant, just as she had in been once in the past. The changed had a great impact on the rest of her new family as well. Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru did not follow her around as much as they had earlier, but they did continued to stalk her whenever she left the shrine grounds to venture into the city. But Sango didn't care anymore. She was alive once again and this time she would do the most of it.
She often returned to the weapon shop/bar to talk with Kyouji and even spar with him on evenings when he did not have any customers. She had refused to take any weapon from him as a gift. She wanted to earn one in battle and to tell the truth, the man was way better than her in a hand to hand combat.
Ayumi would often come with Sango to Kyouji's place. It was a sheer pleasure to watch Sango go on a sparing match with the older man. There was something about Sango that just shouted warrior. Ayumi knew that if she was to take Sango out one night and they ended up in trouble, Sango would make sure that they got out without any scratches. This Ayumi decided the day she saw Sango go on a spar against six of Kyouji's best “players”. And she did this without using real force.
“Girl, you have the Vulcan-grip,” said Ayumi once when Sango rendered one “attacker” unconscious. And that of course meant that Ayumi had to explain the whole Vulcan-thing for Sango.
“It's all about know how to block nerve endings, Ayumi-san,” said Sango with a smile.
“Of course… of course. But you must admit - you're a real warrior.”
“That I will not deny… I have fought a lot in my past… and Kyouji-sensei have learned me so much more.”
“Ohh, so he's a sensei now… Yeah, I guess he's a teacher. I'm happy for you Sango-san.”
“I'm happy too, Ayumi-san… thanks to sensei here… it was his doing. And I have to thank you too, because it was you who brought me to this place. So actually… it was you that made it possible for me to come out and be myself again,” said Sango and hugged the younger woman tightly.
“I'm just an ordinary girl who has an un-ordinary taste…” said Ayumi, but she didn't deny the fact that Sango was right. Because she was right. It was Ayumi's doings that Sango had met Kyouji-san in the first place, no denying that fact.

It was just a few days before that western holiday called Christmas and Sango was dropped off at the stairs of the Higurashi-shrine by Ayumi. Sango handed over a little package.
“This is for you Ayumi-san… Merry Christmas.”
“Thank you, Sango-san… and here…I got something for you too. Merry Christmas!”
Sango smiled and accepted the little gift from Ayumi. The two girls hugged and then Ayumi left the small parking lot. Sango hugged the small gift to her chest as she walked up the long stairs to the shrine. This was the first time she actually, truly appreciated a Christmas gift from another person.
Sango giggled very girly-like once she reached the top of the stairs. She opened the door to the small shack that hid the magic well from view for others. This was the place where Sango “really” talked to Kagome, Kirara, Miroku, Kaede and all the others. She found the blanket she had tucked away for her little “talks” and placed it on the ground next to the well. She sat down and held the little gift between her hands. She was still smiling widely.
“You know, Kagome-chan. Your friend Ayumi-san, has turned out to be a really good friend. I can understand why you liked to be with her. I remember when you told me about that fair thing you had in your school and….” Sango began as she undid the ribbons on the gift. She continued to talk until she opened the small velvet box that had been wrapped up.
Inside was a ring, a very plain one. Silver but with a half moon or was it a boomerang? Sango was not sure… but she fell in love with it the moment she saw it. “Look, Kagome-chan, is it not the most gorgeous thing you've seen??” asked Sango into the empty shack as she put the ring on her right ring-finger. It was a little bit too big, so she changed to put it on her right long-finger instead. A perfect match.
“Kagome-chan, I wish you could be here with me… how much fun we could have. I could show you all the things my new sensei taught me and I could talk about things strange things I have begun feeling for…” Sango went silent for a moment. “Perhaps not that… I'm sure you would hate me if I told you that… Anyway… I still wish you could be here with me… and if you were… I would never do anything to stand between you and you know who… because you two were meant for each other.”
Sango rose to her feet and was about to exit the small shack when she heard a sound coming from the old well. Her whole body froze just before she turned around. “A-anyone t-there?” she whispered into the darkness of the small place.
Silence.
`Just my imagination then?' she thought and opened the door and let the dusky light of the winter evening inside the shack. But when she was about to put a feet out of the small shack there was another sound and when she turned around she saw something moving around in the darkness. Her hand went to grab her small dagger, a gift from her new sensei. It was not anything like the Hiraikotsu… but it was a formidable weapon, forged from the fang of a wolverine demon, dipped in the blood of a snake demon, making it poisonous.
“Show your self!” she called out.
But before she was even able to react the slightest to the thing, she was disarmed and pushed up against the wall. Something cold was pressed against her mouth. Her eyes shot up and drowned in a pair of glowing red ones.
“You're human!?” It was more of a statement than a question. The voice sent chills down Sango's spine. His face was framed with wild black hair. And those eyes, the seemed to want to devour her and yet there was something in them that called out to her in desperation.
Sango nodded. Of course she was human, but what the heck was this guy? The feel a hand hold her left wrist in a tight grip was human, she could feel the warmth flowing from him, seeping through her skin but the “hand” over her mouth was not human… it was metallic of some sort. Metallic with very sharp claws.
“Please do not scream…” he asked as he removed the hand/steel claw from her face.
Sango did not scream. She was not afraid. She had been through too much to be afraid of a man with a metal hand. She just snorted and turned with a quick punch in the face she had managed to catch him off guard for a bit. She could see that her new ring had scratched his cheek quite a bit. She took the opportunity and grabbed hold of his clothes and now it was his turn to be pushed against the wall.
“I am not who you think I am!” she hissed dangerously as soon the tables were turned. This time it was Sango that had pushed the man up against the wall… that is… until she looked right into the barrel of a gun. He still had the upper hand. “Truce?”
He nodded and when she loosened the grip around his neck, he removed the gun from her face. She took a step backwards and was faced with a rather tall man dressed in a red cape. Black and red was the only colours this man wore. He looked very…. dark? Dangerous? Or as her subconscious yelled out - the man was hotter than hell! She mentally shook her head. What kind of woman was she anyway? Did she not already have two men that were weaving inside her heart, making sure that she never would forget about them? Oh, yes, Sango had noticed how the two brothers had looked at her. She had even been kissed by them. But she could still not quite give in even if both Miyuki and Rin dropped hints about someone being courted. Secretly Sango could not help it. The thought of being their mate was enough to send her into that blissful oblivion from time to time. But now… now she was facing a man with eyes that held an ocean of emotions. A man with raven black hair. A man that looked more like a vampire then anything else.
“Who are you? And can you tell me where I might be?” that voice asked, again giving Sango more chills. He looked around the shack they were standing in and then took two steps outside.
“I'm Sango, a-and this is the well house on the Higurashi-estate, a shrine,” Sango said and cursed silently when she realized that she just had stuttered. But what got to her was the fact that the man in front of her flinched very visible. Her answer was not sitting well with him. “Who are you and why are you trespassing on my family's property?”
“Shinra corporation?” He looked outside and Sango could see the frown on his handsome face.
“W-what? What is that?”
“What town is this? Kalm? Rocket town? Tell me now, woman!!” ordered the man.
“Tell me this first - why did you come from the well? Have you been hiding down there? Did you hear anything I just sat here talking about?” asked Sango and put her hands on her hips and tilted her head a bit and looked very annoyed with the whole ordeal.
“Hiding down there? Don't be ridiculous woman, why would I do such a thing?”
“Then why did you come from the well? ANSWER ME!”
“I don't know. I was investigating the well in my town. There had been reports of monsters dwelling inside it and I climbed down and then…” he stopped talking and looked back at the old well.
“… and then it was a bright, purple light? You floated through the air and landed softly here?”
“Yes… but how did you know?”
But Sango did not get to answer that because she was picked up by a pair of strong arms and carried away. Growls and snarls echoed around her. Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha. They were going to do something… “NO!! NO!! DON'T HURT HIM!!” she yelled when she saw the transformed Tessaiga pressing up against the man from the well. She fought against the strong arms that held her in a tight grip. “LET ME GO DAMMIT!!”
“Sango!! You're ok?” asked Inuyasha as he held his sword against the perpetrator.
“Of course I am, what do you think I am? A baby who can not defend myself?? NOW LET ME GO!!”
But Sesshoumaru refused to remove his arms from her; instead he just pushed her closer to his tall frame. He would not let her step between a fight where she could be hurt and this man was an intruder. `And not quite human…' his nose told him. He took a deeper sniff and realized that this man was not any ordinary human. `He carries the blood of many demons inside him… odd.'
“Inuyasha, step away from him… he will not harm us…!!” said Sango and began to feel more than annoyed with the two dogs that seemed to believe that she was not able to handle herself.
“Be still, slayer,” ordered Sesshoumaru and growled darkly when he saw the red clothed man move a bit. And then there was just a smirk and before either Sesshoumaru or Inuyasha could do anything, the man was gone. It was almost as if he had turned into a liquid form and flowed up into the air.
Sango spat angrily and her heel went down and landed heavily on Sesshoumaru's foot. He let her go once he had made sure that the man was nowhere near the alpha female. She pushed away and turned around to look at the demon lord and then at the hanyou.
“Are you a pair of completely morons?” she snarled and raised her fist into the air. Oh, how she wanted to beat them up for their interruption.
“He was a threat, Sango-san,” Sesshoumaru tells her as he tried to ignore the slight pain in his food. She continued to surprise him with new moves every time.
“Was he now?? Somehow I don't believe that and if he was…you don't think I could've handled him?” Sango then let out a frustrated scream and waved her hands about and left the two inu-brothers to ponder to what had happened here.
They could hear her mutter something about possessive demons and over protective guys and by looking how her hand clenched around the dagger, it was fairly obvious that their alpha female was not in a good mod. Sesshoumaru looked at her retrieving form and then back to his brother.
“Aniki, I think we might have done a bad thing,” said Inuyasha and sighed a bit as he shielded his sword again. The danger was gone, the man with many scents was not longer close. “Who was he?”
“I am not sure. He was not completely human. I could smell several different things within him. It was as if he had demon blood running through his veins,” said Sesshoumaru. “And he was looking at our female,” that last part came out much more lower, like an animals purring growl.
“Yeah, I noticed it too. But who was he? He couldn't have been from around here… I didn't recognize him at all,” said Inuyasha with a frown as he stepped inside the well house and looked down the well. It was pitch black, he could see nothing that indicated that it had been active again. But the smell of the stranger was around it so he could tell that he had been inside the well.
“He's gone now so there's nothing we can do about it. And we still have to face our female,” said Sesshoumaru and you could almost hear the dark sigh lingering deep within his voice.
“She'll be pissed, that's for sure,” agreed Inuyasha and closed the door to the shack. “But we'll have to face her sooner or later. Man, this is going to hurt like a bitch.”
Sesshoumaru did not argue with his young sibling on that matter. The way Sango had smelled when she stormed away, the way her hand had clutched her new weapon, the dagger, yes, it would be down right hazardous to approach her now. But they had still to get some answers out of her. And sooner or later she would just had to accept the fact that she was chosen to be mate to them both. They had showed her that they were interested in her and she must be aware of their attentions.
Rin's voice woke the two inu-brothers out of their thoughts. It was time for dinner.
But Sango did not join them this evening. Miyuki said that she had locked herself in her room and Rin mumbled something about Sango telling her that she would beat the shit out of anyone who tried to force them into her room.
“Actually, she said that if Sess or Inuyasha tried to enter her room she would castrate them and fry their balls in boiling oil,” said Miyuki and smiled a bit evilly when she saw the two silver haired young men wince a bit. “So I suggest that you let her ride out what ever it is you did to her this time boys….”
`They should know by now that they can not control Sango like they would control a weak woman. Sango is a handful and more, if they want her to know they will have to go around in very different ways,' thought the older woman as she served her family their dinner.
= * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * =
Sango had locked herself into her room, but she didn't stay there for long. She couldn't stand to be in the same house as the two dogs. She opened the window and jumped out. Three metres was nothing for a well trained slayer as her self. She landed almost soundless on the ground before she listened for any dogs to come sniffing around; when she couldn't hear anything she took off in the same direction as the strange man she had met in the well house.
Sango was not sure why she wanted to find him again. Of course there was this thing that repeatedly nagged her brain with the fact that she felt drawn to him. But who wouldn't she argued back as if to justify her means - the man looked like a god, an Adonis no less. But it was not only the looks; it had been that desperation in his crimson eyes that had pulled Sango out to seriously want to help him. She recognized that desperation; it was the same as she had felt when she had awoken in this time.
`Plus I think he owes me something… his name for one thing,' she thought as she chased through the dark alley's of Tokyo in search of the strange man. She could only hope that he might see her and make contact again.
But the hours went by and she couldn't find a single trace of the red clothed man. Sango stopped as she reached one of the green areas of the town. She fought the urge to stomp her feet into the ground and cry out like a baby. She began to think she had imagined the whole thing. Well, unless you counted for the fact that she had been pulled away from that man by two possessive demons `I will cut off their tails…' she thought grimly.
“It's you… you're the one from the well-house…” the voice cut off Sango's thoughts and she spun around and was faced with two glowing red eyes. Her heart skipped a beat and she unconsciously reached for her dagger.
“Y-yeah… I'm the one…,” answered Sango as she watched the man gaze around the park.
“Where are your guardians?” he asked and his eyes swept around the place.
“Hopefully still at the shrine where I left them,” said Sango and saw a bench and sat down. “So… My name is Sango… but who are you?”
“The name's Vincent. Do you know about that well?”
Sango tried to keep her voice steady, but there was just something about his voice that caused her skin to crawl. “That well was once magic, it was a time portal. A friend of mine used it at first and then….to make a very long story really short. She died and we ended up here. Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru, the two you met earlier… they're brothers and they act like asses sometimes.”
Sango wrinkled her nose a bit as she said the last part.
“They were jealous. They thought I would be a threat to their claim on you,” said the dark clothed man as he moved to sit down next to Sango.
He shifted his red coat a bit and Sango could see several guns hanging from his belt. It made her a bit nervous, but being the slayer that she was, she did not show it. Instead she snorted at his statement.
“A claim on me? Although they have behaved strangely lately - let me tell you this Vincent-san, they have NO CLAIM on me.”
He raised a curious, dark eyebrow as if to say: “Are you blind woman?” Couldn't she see that those two strange looking men loved her? That they had put a claim on her? His mixed demon blood told him that she was their woman.
“But Vincent-san, please tell me… how did you end up in that well?” asked Sango and tried not to fiddle with the buttons on her shirt. He made her a bit nervous and just the fact that he looked like a god's gift to the female race, did not help her out much.
“I went to investigate because the villagers said that there was demon coming up from the well in our town. I once fought against a great evil… but as I jumped down there was this light. Just like you described it and then I was here.”
Sango thought for a moment and then she asked. “Do you trust me Vincent-san? If you do, there's a place where we can sit down and have a drink. Do you want to share a bottle of wine with me perhaps?”
The man looked at her very curiously at first but then he nodded. `Why not, it can not possible be worse than to be lost in a strange world.'
Sango was happy to see his nod and rose to her feet and held out her hand to show him that she did not mean any harm. And of course… she took him to Kyouji's place. And she reached the place just in time before the weapon's master was about to close up the place.

Kyouji was surprised to see Sango out so late. He had trained with her earlier this day and then she had left with Ayumi, but now she was here with a man that easily could pass as a vampire. He just couldn't pass up on this.
“Sango-san, welcome…” he said and held up the door to his shop/bar.
“Kyouji-sensei, sorry to bother you this late but I… “ began Sango but was grateful that her weapon's master let them inside the shop. This was still one of the refuges she had where Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru would not come to.
“I was just a bit shocked to see you here so late… I mean it's over eleven o'clock. But it's ok; I would open my door for you anytime.”
“Thank you Kyouji-sensei. This is a friend, his name is Vincent. And I thought we would share some memories together over a bottle of wine, can you please help us with that?” asked Sango.
“Of course, Sango-san.”
And as Sango guided her new friend to a table Kyouji went to get them a bottle of wine and a couple of glasses. The older man looked at Sango as he went around the bar. His student was acting strange and he was not sure if it was a good or a bad thing. She had been accompanied by her two guard dogs a couple of times and he was not an old fool. Those two dog demons had put a claim on the slayer, only thing was - she either didn't see it or se didn't want to see it. And if she was here with a vampire-looking guy who at the moment was looking at the slayer with both curiosity and heat, there was no telling what her guard dogs would do if they found out. `This is so troublesome…' he thought as he put the bottle and the glasses on a tray and carried it to them.
But as he served them the wine Kyouji could see the smile in Sango's dark eyes and it warmed his heart. Ever since her shell-breaking, she had wormed her way into his heart and he knew he never could deny her anything. If this man could make her happy, Kyouji would not interfere. And as the new guy opened his blood red coat, Kyouji became a little bit more weary. There was a small arsenal of weapons, guns around his waist. `Not good… what kind of man is this guy?'
“Thank you, Kyouji-sensei,” said Sango with a warm smile as he served them the red wine.
The man nodded curtly and Kyouji left them. But he never went far away, if this man turned out to be a threat to Sango Kyouji would be there to jump into action. He knew that her demons would never forgive him if he didn't do his best to protect their mate to be. He wondered how long it would be before his store/bar would be invaded by two dog demons in search of their mate. He sighed deeply and found a refuge in polishing a few of his weapons. `I don't think I want to know what happens when they come barging in here..'

But as of now, Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru had no idea that Sango had left the Higurashi shrine and was sitting at Kyouji's bar with that strange man they thought they had rescued her from earlier. No, they were getting scolded by Miyuki because of their behaviour against the young slayer. They were sitting under the God Tree all three of them. Sesshoumaru had trouble believing that this female, this human was trying to lecture him in how to court a possible alpha female. But he had much to thank this woman for and he couldn't lash out on her with his whip. So he just sat there next to his half brother.
“Boys, boys… You must understand, Sango is a growing young woman. I doubt that she's reached her 21st year even. And after what I heard from Kagome-chan and Sango herself, there has only been one man that could have tried to capture her heart and that was that monk, Miroku. Now she's living with us here, in this century and Ayumi-chan has shown Sango a lot of how things go about here,” said Miyuki as she rose to her feet. But when she saw that Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru was about to follow her lead she just sent them a motherly glare and they plopped down on their asses again.
She went into the house and fetched them something to drink and came back quickly. The two brothers looked at her with confusion as she served them some warm sake. It was chilly outside and they could see the steam rose from the small cups as she poured the strong liquor.
Silently they all drank the content from their cups and felt it's burning warmth all the way down their stomachs. Sesshoumaru was the first one to speak up.
“Elaborate, Higurashi-san,” he said as he took the bottle and poured more sake into their cups.
“Sango as begun to learn about this world. It is not as tightly ruled by rules like your world was. And as dangerous as this world can be, you can not deny that she can defend for herself. I have seen you spar with her and she stands her ground very well. If she was entering a martial art contest she would probably win the whole thing. She can even hold herself against you Sesshoumaru-sama so don't look so pouty!!”
Inuyasha stifled a laugh when he saw Sesshoumaru glare at the older woman but he was soon silenced when her otherwise so warm and caring eyes turned to him, looking at him with the same amount of anger.
“You two must either tell her your intentions or you will let her go. Because this possessive business you are displaying is choking my girl and I will not tolerate it any longer. If this man who came through the well was somehow threatening her, I am sure that Sango could have taken care of it herself. And you know this too, but you never let her because you are too hung up on this alpha female thing.”
“B-but…” began Inuyasha and felt a blush forming on his face.
“No, Inuyasha, you will tell her once she decides to talk to you two again. Tell her how you feel about her and what your intentions are. Or let her go to find a man on her own and you should know that there are quite few young lads that have set their eyes on her,” said Miyuki and felt her lips turn upwards in somewhat evil smile. `If I were to believe Ayumi-chan, there are many who really wants to go out with Sango and she has been asked many times but always denied them.'
Sesshoumaru's eyes began to glow in the darkness and he could feel a jealous rage fill his soul. Did this woman just say that their bitch was the object of other men's desire? Human men that wanted to court their female? He would kill them slowly and then he would rip out their guts and strangle them with it.
“Sess-kun,” said Miyuki with her sweetest voice, a voice that they all had come to fear. “You will not force Sango to do anything, you will let her choose her own destiny…” That sweet voice along with that dark fire in Miyuki's eyes was enough for the two brothers - they nodded.
But Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru had no intention of letting any other male touch what was theirs to touch. And Miyuki somehow suspected this. Sango was not going to have a moment of solitude after this. `All I can hope for now is that these two dick-headed boys will tell her about how they feel about her,' thought the older woman and mentally rolled her eyes in defeat. `Men, they can be so stupid sometimes…'

Vincent looked at the woman that sat across the table. Her hair was tied up in two braids to keep it from getting in her face or in the way if she was fighting, or so he supposed. She had told him the story about the well from where he had emerged. Another world, he had somehow been transported into another world. She told him about demons and monsters. Funny, because he had always thought that his world was the only one that carried those. If there was another world out there, it would be monster free and peaceful. This woman, a demon slayer at trade, was now telling him that monsters and demons still existed but beyond the well. But there was a few demons that existed in this particular time. Like those two silver haired guys that had stepped in when he first arrived here.
Dog demons… the one being a full blooded demon and the other one had a human as a mother but a dog demon as a father. `And you, slayer… how can it be that you are living with these two if your trade is that of demon extermination?' he thought as he watched her full lips as she spoke. She reminded him a bit of Tifa and of Yuffie. It was almost as if she was an exquisite blend of them both. She had surprised him quite a bit back there at the well. The way she took him on without fear. Her strength and ability was great, he quickly acknowledged that as he had fled the scene.
And then there were her two guard dogs. Vincent could feel the strange tingle in his stomach as he picture the two half brothers in his mind. The one that had put his sword against his throat was the personification of brute strength where his brother was just an apparition of pure beauty. It was a bit of a shock to him. He had never thought he would be drawn to another man, but here he was, feeling that tug not towards one man, but two demons. And this woman who now was licking her lips after taking another sip from her wine… She was awakening things in him that he thought was long gone and dead. He found himself wanting to have them all three.
Sango stopped talking when she saw her companion's face turn red, then green, then it became a sickly yellow colour before going back to that pale state she first seen. It was like watching a chameleon change colour.
“Hey, Vincent-san, are you feeling ok? You look as if you're about to pop here,” Sango said and looked worried at the man who sat across the table. She could see him clutch the glass in his hand very tightly. “Can I get you anything? A glass of water perhaps? You need to use the bathroom?”
Vincent shook his head. No, he didn't need any of that. He just needed to try and calm his body down a bit. He could feel his blood flow south and fill up a part of his body he had thought was dead. Since his awakening he had been around beautiful men and women but never had any of them brought this kind of reaction out of him. He had actually thought that his bodily functions had died with his beloved Lucretia. But now he was sure that those emotions just had been dormant, not dead.
“Sorry, Sango-san, I was just…. I just realized something,” he mumbled as he put the wine glass to his lips and took a deep gulp as if the red liquid could erase what he just had realized.
“Oh… and what was that?” asked Sango and looked at him with a pair of curious and not to mention very innocent eyes.
`No, I can not tell her and please… do not look at me like that…' he silently prayed as he looked at her. She looked very worried and concerned about him. `Don't… I do not deserve such pity…'
“Vincent-san, I can not help you unless you tell me what the problem is,” said Sango slightly scolding. She felt responsible for this lost soul and she would do anything to help him.
Vincent choose to go around that very disturbing and confusing subject and moved to one she knew he was concerned about. “I feel lost here, but I must admit - it is a bit exhilarating at the same time. A new world to discover. It's giving me a tingling I have not felt since I traveled with my companions.
Sango smiled, she knew that feeling. Once she had been “awakened” from her self-destructive shell, she had felt the same. The desire to learn about this world. Explore it to understand it.
