A/N: Hi guys, long time no see, right? *Looks around, and sees no one. * All righty then...moving on. Something I wanted to thank, and point out to you guys. I have been giving numerous e-mails, and reviews about people telling me how good this fanfic is, some people have told me it's the best Selvine out there. Now I know there have got to be better Selvines, but those compliments mean a lot to me, thank you. I've always wanted to write the best Selvine fanfic, and when I receive compliments like that, it really makes me so happy, and makes me feel like I have accomplished my goal, thank you.
I'm into songfics really bad. I'm thinking about making another one. Have you read my 'Words We Couldn't Say' songfic? It's a Selvine ^_^. My first songfic too, I might add. Anyway, I wanted to write another one, I have a song in mind, but I think someone has used it already T_T.
Sorry this fanfic took me a long time to get up. Probably not that long, but I usually can get them up earlier. I don't have a lot of time on my hands like I used to in the summer, but now, I barely have a chance to get on the computer! I've only got on the computer for like a few minutes each day, and that was to check my mail, and reviews. Ugh! I hate homework. I think everyone does though. Oh well, I wanna try my hardest this year so I can get all my credits, and that means sacrifice a lot of things I enjoy too. So far I'm doing great in school, and I have had a little time to write, so I'm very pleased with my school year so far.
I think this has got to be my longest A/N. U.U I love to talk, a little too much. So, I'll move on with the fanfic.
Disclaimer: I wish I owned it, but I don't. I wish I created it, but I didn't, so I guess all I can do here is dream a little.

Chapter Eight "The Night Before the Autumn Ball."
Selphie ran around the ball room checking everything closely. One month had already passed so fast, she couldn't believe it. Everyone on the Garden Festival Committee worked so hard for this day, and she knew it was gonna pay off.
"Looks like everything is set for tomorrow night." Selphie put on a smile, she was so excited.
Selphie took a seat at the nearest chair. Everything looked so beautiful. The ribbons were above the stage where the garden band were supposed to perform. Selphie noticed the flowers on the tables, in the middle, were perfect. They were roses, her second favorite flower. Her first favorite was the cherry blossoms that Irvine had showed her a long time ago.
"Irvine..." Selphie closed her eyes and thought of him.
She wanted to tell him everything. What would he do if she did? Would he laugh? Would he walk away and never speak to her again? Or would he take her in his arms and kiss her gently on the lips? So many thoughts rushed in her mind.
He was her best friend, she should be able to talk to him. She didn't want to lose him, that's why she hasn't told him yet, but maybe tonight will be the night to tell him she loves him. Maybe...
Selphie let out a long sigh and looked around the room again. Everything was perfect. She remembered the first time she danced at the orphanage. Shockingly, she had remembered a lot more then some of the others. Could your memory come back if you didn't used the GFs for a long time? Selphie didn't know, but she hoped it was true. It was just, certain things would trigger something in her memory, and then she could relive it in her mind.
-Flashback-
It was a warm and sunny day outside the orphanage, too good of a day to stay inside. That's what Matron had told them. So, she decided on going outside to have a picnic. All the children, Seifer, Squall, Ellone, Quistis, Zell, Irvine, and Selphie got dressed and followed Matron out to the flower field. It was spring time, and all the flowers were in bloom. It was so beautiful.
"Ok, children, get in a line and hold the person next to you hand's." Matron instructed.
The children nodded, and did as she said. They all looked like a small kindergarten class with their hand's together, but it was a way so Matron wouldn't lose one of the children.
"It's so pretty, Matron." Quistis said aloud.
"Why haven't you shown us this before?" Ellone asked.
"Because, I think you are all too young to be wandering around out here. You may go to far, and lose the path road, and get lost in the flower field. But if you ever get lost, there is only one tree in this field. It's all the way in the middle. Of course we won't go there, it's too far from here," Matron said as she led the kids to a spot in the field, "Ok, this is where we will have our picnic."
The spot wasn't too far from the orphanage. You could still see it from where they all were sitting.
"A tree, where is it?" Seifer asked.
"I told you already Seifer, in the middle of this flower field." Matron told Seifer once more.
Seifer pouted and took a seat on the blanket that Matron had laid out.
"Ooooh, a butterfly." Irvine ran after the butterfly.
"Don't wander off too far Irvine." Matron yelled over her shoulder, and then placed the basket on the blanket.
Irvine lost the butterfly, and went back to the others. He sat down next to Selphie.
"Ok, everyone, take one cookie." Matron let the children get there on cookie.
"Hey Zell, look over there, it's a bear!" Seifer screamed out and pointed to the other direction.
"Where?!" Zell looked around frantically for a bear.
As soon as Zell turned his head, Seifer grabbed his cookie and ate it fast.
"There's no bear... Hey!? Where's my cookie?" Zell started to cry.
"Cry baby Zell! Cry baby Zell!" Seifer yelled.
"Enough Seifer. Zell, you can have Seifer's cookie, and another one." Matron took Seifer's cookie out of his hands, and handed Zell another one.
"Thank you Matron." Zell ate both cookies quick.
"No fair Matron!" Seifer pouted again.
"It wasn't fair that you took Zell's cookie either, was it?"
Seifer didn't answer, he just ignored her.
Selphie ignored what was going on around her. She was amazed at how beautiful everything was.
"Let's all play tag!" Ellone suggested.
"Okie dokie, you'll be it though." Quistis got up and ran from Ellone.
Everyone was playing, with the exception of Matron, Seifer, and Selphie. Squall was only playing because Ellone was playing. The children ran around for hours playing tag, and finally became exhausted. Selphie didn't want to play because she was too busy admiring the field. Seifer, was just being Seifer, and Matron had to keep a watch on the kids.
"Ok, it's almost night now, let's go back home." Matron gathered up the blanket and basket, and led the children back to the orphanage.
Later that night, Matron called all the children out to the living room.
"Yes, Matron, what did you want?" Quistis asked.
"Well, I thought I should teach you all how to dance." Matron smiled.
"Count me out." Seifer stated plainly.
"Oh come on, it's gonna be fun." Selphie said cheerfully.
"What dance are you teaching us?" Quistis asked.
"The Balamb Tango." Matron responded. (It's the dance they danced at the SeeD inauguration, but I made up the name myself since I don't think they have a name for it.)
"The Balamb Tango?" The children said in unison, sounded like Matron's echo.
"Yes, like this, any volunteers?" Ellone and Zell raised there hands.
"Um, how about Ellone, since she's the tallest." Matron took Ellone's hand and then turned on the music. The music that played was 'Waltz for the Moon.'
Matron did a combination of twists and turns. Finally she finished, but the children seemed lost, except Ellone.
"Ok... well, why don't you get a partner and then just follow me ok, Zell, your turn, come here." Zell walked up to Matron and took her hand.
Squall danced with Ellone, Seifer with Quistis, and Irvine and Selphie danced together. After a few times, they finally got the hang of it, and could dance without Matron showing them how.
"This is fun isn't it Irvy?" Selphie said, accidentally stepping on his toes.
"Yeah, but you keep stepping on my toes, Sefie." Irvine laughed a little.
"Oops, I'm sorry." Selphie giggled and her and Irvine danced a little more.
-End of flashback-
Selphie smiled at the thought her that. She wondered if she would step on his toes again. It was a funny thought, but it was cute. Selphie looked down at her watch.
"Ah, it's already 7:00!" Selphie grabbed her belongings and went to go meet her friends in the cafeteria.
---
Rinoa, Quistis, and Seifer waited for Selphie. They asked to talk to her after she finished checking the ballroom.
"I'm worried about her." Rinoa broke the silence.
"I am too, I wish she had told us about this, does anyone else know?" Quistis asked
"I told Squall, he said he would meet us here as soon as he gets done with his duty." Rinoa responded.
"I think it's a premonition." Seifer added.
"Maybe, but it's keeping her up at night. She hasn't been herself lately. I can tell she is lacking a lot of sleep, she already has black circles under her eyes." Quistis frowned.
"I hope she will talk to us about it," Rinoa noticed Selphie walk in, "there she is."
"Hiya guys, what's up?" Selphie took a seat down next to Rinoa.
"Hey." They all said in a low, not happy way.
"What's wrong?" Selphie asked, placing her things on the table.
"Selphie, we wanted you to come here cause we are all worried about your well being." Quistis started.
"What do you mean?" Asked a confused Selphie.
"Um, remember when you told me your dream?"
"You told everyone Seifer!?" Selphie raised her voice.
"No, I only told Rinoa, and Quistis. And, Rinoa told Squall, and Quistis told Zell..." Seifer stopped.
"I can't believe you! You said you wouldn't tell anyone. I only told you to tell Rinoa, and that was all! And I told Rinoa not to say anything to Squall or anyone. Why did you guys tell everyone?" Selphie wasn't mad, just upset.
"Only Rinoa, Seifer, Squall, Zell, and I know Selphie. So there's no need to fret. We are just worried about you. Seifer told us that you were lost in a flower field, can you describe it for me?" Quistis asked.
"Um, it looked like the one that Matron showed us-Oh my Hyne, it was the one Matron showed us!" Selphie started to get uncomfortable. Then the tree, must have been the one Irvine had showed her when she was younger.
"Ok, now we're getting somewhere. Seifer also said something about a tree, is it the tree Matron told us about?" Quistis asked again.
"I think it was. Irvine had shown me that tree a long time ago, the day I left the orphanage." Selphie fiddled with her fingers.
"Irvine... I should have known." Seifer mumbled.
"Do you think the person that's waiting for you is Irvine?" Rinoa added.
"I don't know, but I'm not having the dream anymore, so you don't have to worry about me anymore." Selphie lied, she was still having the same dream every night before she went to bed, but Rinoa did bring up a good point.
"Are you sure Selphie?" Quistis questioned.
"Yes, well, I have to go. You know I'm pumped up about tomorrow. Bye." Selphie waved and left the cafeteria fast.
"I think she is still having the dreams, she seemed nervous when we were talking about it." Seifer added.
"I think we should leave her alone about it for now, but I think it is a premonition now." Quistis rubbed her chin.
---
Selphie slammed her door on accident. She didn't mean to, but she just wanted to get to her room. She immediately went to her bed and laid down.
"I can't be all stressed about tomorrow. I'll just go to bed, and wake up all refreshed tomorrow." Selphie closed her eyes, and without changing into her pajamas, she fell asleep in her school uniform.
To be continued...

A/N: Ack! Look what's school has done to me! I never write short chapters like this. This chapter wasn't all too good, I basically wanted you to get some ideas about her dream so that you will have an idea about it later on. Anyway...the next chapter will be the Autumn Ball! I bet you've been looking forward to that since the beginning of the fanfic. I'll try to get it up soon. Bye.
*Next chapter will be better, I promise. *
