It happened so quickly, one minute our run down school was going on a field trip to the capital building. All I remember was that the bus was going in a tunnel and then when I opened my eyes... we were all laying on the dirt road. I wasn't alone... there were some of my classmates and some of the underclass men waking up to confusion like myself.
Our teacher was standing about half a mile away from us, staring at the wilderness. I too began to look around our surroundings. "What the fuck..." I muttered as I got to my feet and started dusting the dirt off of my uniform. My neck was itchy and as I tried to scratch the itch, there was something around it. I couldn't tell what it was but I looked at the other students and noticed that they too were wearing metal collars. Our teacher heard me and turned his attention towards us, "Glad to see you're awake Squall." He started walking towards us and placed his arms behind him. He stopped in front of the group and looked down upon the rest of the students. "Grab your things boys and girls, class will be in session soon."
The students got to their feet and picked up their belongings. Giving each other odd looks as they finally noticed the collars around their necks. Our teacher lead us an old building that seemed to be falling to pieces. Surprising that it was still standing since the foundation was so unstable and poorly built. The teacher finally led us all into a big room, there was a tv, some rickty desk, a couch in the back and a remote on the teacher's desk. The students gathered in the room and sat at the old desk. I took a seat near the door, it was probably the second or third chair up in the row. One student raised his hand, "Prof Cid, why are we here and what are these things around our necks?" Cid turned to the student and grabbed a piece of chalk that was maybe older then me. He started writing in big bold letters, "B-A-T-T-L-E". He placed the chalk down and asked for the defination of the word he just wrote. Another student raised her hand and stood up. "Battle, a fight between to objects in hopes for superiour reasonings." She sat down, I never liked brainy students... seem like a waste of time and fun.
