Chapter 3.

~

The woods were creepy, the trees seemed to be alive, their branches were arms reaching out for him as he moved along the long, dusty road. Zell had read about some freaky legend in these woods, he was curious and decided to investigate.

Besides Seifer had been hanging around his house again, so he had to get away. That guy wasn't giving up, he had started to give Zell gifts as bribes. The short, blonde now owned lots of useless things including a whole collection of sex toys and some women's kinky underwear. After he had publicly shot Seifer down, the gifts get better. He also owned most of the playstation games in his favourite shop and his father had a new horse. After all this he thought the blonde would have given up.

The little blonde was knocked out of his thoughts abruptly when his foot hit something heavy and solid and he tripped over, landing hard on concrete. He looked around in confusion, his eyes widened at the sight before him. He lay in a concrete court yard in front of a very grand, black castle. The tower seemed to disappear up into the clouds. Zell looked back at the angry gargoyle he had tripped over. The whole castle was covered in gargoyles, the front door was a big, black wooden door with a black over hang.

Carefully he picked himself up and slowly approached the door. He was afraid to go in there, but he hadn't come with this way to run away now. Zell knocked on the door with the black gargoyle knocker, after a moment of silence to pushed the door open and slipped inside.

The hallway inside was dark, the only light was coming from a single candle stick.

"Hello?" He asked the darkness.

He picked up the one candle and walked into a room with comfy sofas and expensive looking furniture. This place was amazing. He walked past the coffee table, when he accidentally kicked something. It yelped in pain, Zell jumped back suddenly looking down expecting to see a dog of some kind. A foot stool walked away from him with one of it's tassels between it's legs, whimpering.

Zell's eyes widened. He must be dreaming, that's impossible.

"Angelo! What have I told you about getting in the way?!"

The short, blonde spun round to see who had said that. The room was empty. Zell started to panic. Something was seriously wrong with this house. He turned to put to candle stick back. He froze, the object had eyes blinking at him, it was waving and it had an insane grin on it's face.

"AAHHHH!!" He dropped the candle stick, staring at it in shock.

"Ow, that hurt man."

"What the hell?!"

The candle stick stood up holding up it's candle arms. "Clam down. I know it's weird, but it's okay. I'm Irvine."

The blonde crouched beside the candle stick to have a closer look.

"How?"

"Long story. Evil hell bitch, a curse, all wrapped up nicely like a fairy tale."

"Are you the only one here?"

"Hell no." Irvine whistled loudly.

Zell jumped back as suddenly the doors of a glass fronted cabinet opened and a tea pot hopped up to him. It curtsied politely in front of him.

"This is Edea."

The blonde stared at the tea pot, it looked just like one he had seen in the village only it could speak and move around.

"And you are?" She prompted.

"Z-Zell."

"We don't get many visitors around here."

"Mama!" A very lively cup bounced up to them.

"This is Selphie."

"Who are you? Have you come to break the- mmhp!" Irvine slapped a hand over her mouth.

Zell frowned. What did she mean?

"How many of you are there?"

"Hundreds. Most of the furniture here are like us. We didn't have enough before this."

"This is amazing. Can I have a look around?"

"Downstairs yes! Upstairs no!"

Zell picked up Irvine for light and walked into the next room that looked exactly like the last. There was silence except a quiet ticking sound. He walked up to a dark brown clock, staring at it closely. Slowly the eyes opened and it blinked at Zell.

"Hello."

The candle stick introduced him to the clock.

"This is Kiros." The clock held out a little wooden hand to the blonde boy.

"Zell." He replied.

He was really getting used to this, it was so different to his normal boring life in the village. This was exciting and new and he didn't want to leave. A suit of armour in the corner turned to look at him as he passed. This place was so cool and if he ever got lonely he'd have things to talk to. The cup was suddenly bouncing along side him, chatting away happily.

"Do you guys live here all alone?"

"No, there's the master of the castle but he's not sociable so you won't see him."

He approached some stairs. "What's up there?"

The candle stick looked nervous. "That's where the mater stays, let's go elsewhere."

Zell nodded slowly. Everyone seems afraid of this master guy. Zell really didn't want to meet him, if he hurt his own servants and people living in the castle then he wouldn't hesitate to hurt Zell. He wondered if the master was also a piece of furniture or if he was responsible for what had happened to the others.

The cup led Zell into a nearby, mostly empty room. There was a piano and heavy drapes covering the tall windows.

"WOW!"

Irvine winced. "Shh! We're below the master's room."

"So what? Why are you guys so afraid of him?"

"He's not the bad but........."

The blonde went over to the piano, running his fingers through the dust that decorated the top. He turned round glancing up at the ceiling, backing up. He didn't notice a vase behind him until it was too late. It smashed loudly to the floor.

They all held their breath, waiting, listening to the silence. They were about to relax when the building started to shake violently. Zell fell over and Selphie and Irvine started to panic. The shaking stopped abruptly. Zell crept up to the door when it suddenly flew open slammed back against the wall. The blonde came face-to face (Or rather face to chest) with a tall, furry beast.

I've added the last 9 words to this. There was supposed to be more but I'll put it in as Chap 3b

My stupid, stupid computer didn't save the end. I swear it has a mind of it's own and is only doing it to spite me.
