Mandra: ON WITH THE FIC!
"Please, Ramza... If you don't kill me, I might kill you.." Zalbag said from where he was kneeling on the floor of the temple. "Zalbag! I can't kill you! Please, fight it! I know you can get over this!" Ramza shouted at him, tears pricking in the corners of his eyes. "I.. Can't.. The pain hurts so much.. I can't feel anything.. Please, kill me already." He said. Ramza shook his head defiantly. "No! I couldn't.." He trailed off. "He's begging you to Ramza, if you wont I will!" Yelled his comrade, and friend, Joshua. He ran over to where Zalbag was and swung his staff down hard. "Hyaaah!" He cried out. "NO!" A voice rang out. There was a loud clash of a staff hitting something. Ramza's eyes widened. Standing infront of Josh was his other friend, Kairi. Josh's eyes widened and he dropped his staff. "Kairi!" He cried out. She stood there, doubled over and heaving, the wind knocked out of her and winced in trying to talk. "You. Can't." She wheezed out and stood up straight, struggling to stay upright and held her arms out to the sides of her. "This.. Isn't between us.." She said. "This.. Fight.. Is between. Ramza. And." She winced and bent over a bit before straightening back up. "Zalbag.. We can't interfere.." She finished. "But Kairi, you heard what he said, if we don't kill him, he'll kill us.." By this time, Zalbag had gotten up and moved closer to the two standing there. But not of his own free will. Whispers and voices taunted him inside of his head, confusing him and stealing his memories.
"If it wasn't for Ramza, we wouldn't be here now, shouldn't you at least.. Oh.." She stumbled a few steps but stood back up straight again and took a deep breath. "Shouldn't you at least trust his judgements?" She asked. Josh took a step back at this. "I.. You're right.." Ramza watched this scene going on and almost failed to notice Zalbag walking up behind Kairi, fangs drawn and had a bloodlust look in his eyes. "Zalbag!" He cried out, running over to them. Zalbag's head snapped up at the voice. Who's was it? It sounded so familliar.. "R-ramza.." He muttered out. Josh grabbed Kairi and pulled her out of the way. Kenny, Lori, and Master had worked their way over to the injured Oracle and Wizard. "Let me see her." Lori said. Josh nodded and knelt down, bringing Kairi down with him. She winced and moaned out in pain. Lori looked her over and eyed the damage. "I can heal her mostly, but there will still be some bruising and numbness afterwards. That was a very hard blow, not to mention the other damage she's taken." She mumbled. She waved her hand, while pulling out a X-Potion, and a Hi-Ether. She mixed the two together and slowly poured it over the areas of the wounds, all the while casting a Cure Three and Esuna.
"Zalbag! Please, you have to fight this!" Ramza cried, oblivious to everything else except his brother. "R-Ramza.. It's so painful.. I can't feel anything.. My hands, and legs.. They feel so numb.. Kill me please.." He said, slumping back down to his knees and grabbing his head. "Zalbag!!" Ramza cried out and ran over to him. "No.. Don't if you come any closer.. I might.." He trailed off, wincing as he tried to fight off the numbing feeling.
"Zalbag.." Ramza whispered softly and knelt down by his brother. "Zalbag, I don't want to hurt you.. I can't kill you. You can fight this off, I know you can. Please.." He said. Zalbag's eyes were closed in pain. But suddenly snapped open and his hand flew out and grabbed Ramza by the throat, holding him tightly. "Ramza!" Kenny yelled, reaching for his daggers. "N-no!" Kairi said, grabbing ahold of Kenny's wrist. Kenny looked down at her. "This is between them.. What Ramza decides.. Is our fate.. We've gotten. This far. N-now fate will decide what Ramza will do.." She said, and started to say something else but Lori put a hand over her mouth. "Shush, you need to rest so you can heal." She said.
"Zal. Bag." Ramza choked out, looking at his brother with sorrowful, honey-brown eyes. "Zalbag.. Listen to me, listen to my voice, concentrate on me, you have to fight this, I need you, I-" He started to say but Zalbag's grip tightened on his throat, cutting off his air. Zalbag's eyes were clouded and confusion shone in them. Who was that voice? Why was it so familliar? Why was everything so cold and numb? 'Fool' Hissed a voice in his head. 'You fool, listen to me, kill the boy, he is nothing, he is worthless!' the voice hissed in his mind. Who? Why was he worthless? "Zalbag.." The voice called to him again. His brows furrowed, trying to concentrate, remember.
Ramza slowly fought his away forward in the grip Zalbag had on his throat, and then, with all his strength pushed forward and threw his arms around Zalbag in a tight embrace. This sudden motion suprised Zalbag, causing his grip on Ramza to loosen. This made him even more confused. Why? Why, why, why? What was happening? Who was this person? Why was he embracing him? 'Kill him.. Don't let him live, he's nothing..' The voice inside his mind hissed out, venom dripping through his words. He shuddered inwardly at the voice. Ramza kept his hold on Zalbag and felt the tears that still pricked the corners of his eyes fall. "Zalbag..." He whispered. "Zalbag, do you remember when we were younger and I used to play all of those tricks on you?" He whispered again. Zalbag thought hard, catching brief images of his memory, of a small messy blond haired child dumping ink on him and whacking him with a pillow filled with Chocobo Down, getting it to stick all over him.
"Do you remember?" The voice whispered. He opened his mouth and concentrated on forming his words. "Y-ye-es.. T-that time.. W-whe-en yo-you poured ink.. a-all over me.." He struggled to get out. Ramza smiled. "Yes, and do you remember that time when I tried to ride your Chocobo?" Chocobo.. He thought hard.
"What's Ramza doing!?" Hissed Master. "He's trying to get himself killed!" He muttered. "No, he's trying to make Zalbag remember him, and try and bring him out of Lucavi's control." Josh said. "I hope that guy knows what in the name of Gladobos he's doing.." Muttered Kenny, still fingering his daggers.
Zalbag forced himself to concentrate, ignore the voices and try to remember. Chocobo.. Ramza.. Brief images of the same blond haired child ontop a chocobo, laughing and swinging a play-sword, yelling about how he was going to grow-up to be a noble knight one day. came to him as he thought about it. "You said.. You were go-oing to b-be a noble knight one day.." He breathed out, having to concentrate on everyword he spoke. "Yeah.. I guess I didn't turn out that way.. I ended up being a Heretic, a disgrace to our family, and a betrayer.." He mumbled, a few more tears spilling down. Zalbag thought hard, a wave of bloodlust hitting him hard, trying to take over him. "Y-you wern't th-the disgra-ace, D-Dyc-cedarg w-was.." Dycedarg.. His brother.. The man who killed their father.. He fought hard to remember. "Yes, but you didn't know.. None of us did. But what's worse is that he let himself be taken by Lucavi.. And now he's trying to get to you.." Ramza said quietly. But Zalbag had his control slip and the hand that was still on Ramza's throat gripped him tight again, causing Ramza to gasp with suprise and pain.
"Z-zalbag.. I need you still.. Y-you have to help me get Alma back.. She needs us.." Ramza choked out, tightening his embrace on his brother. Alma.. A brief image of a long brown-haired girl formed in his mind. His sister. "Alma.." He muttered out, his grip once again loosening on Ramza. He took a deep breath and slowly relaxed into the embrace he was giving his brother. "Yes, Alma. Vormav has her, we need to get her back.." He said. "S-she s-st-ill ne-ever kne-ew about u-us.." He said. Ramza's eyes widened when he said that. "Yeah.. So that's why we need to get her. So we can fill her in on all the stuff she never caught onto. We can save her and be a family again." Ramza said, burying his face into Zalbag's shoulder, leaving himself completely defenceless. Zalbag's mind registered that too. 'Now's your chance to strike. Kill him now, while he cannot fight you. Do it!' The same voice hissed in his mind again. But why? What had Ramza done that was so terrible that he deserved to be killed? Alma.. She needed to be saved.. But.. 'Do it! Forget about them and kill him!' The voice screeched. The feeling of bloodlust hit him so quickly he couldn't fight it and he twisted his head and bit hard onto Ramza's neck.
"He bit him! That bastard bit him and he'll!" Kenny said, grabbing his daggers. "No dammit!" Kairi yelled, sitting upright quickly and knocking the daggers away. "What the hell?!" Kenny said. Kairi shook her head. "If you interefere, Ramza may never be able to get through to Zalbag again. And there's something you don't know about those two, so just leave it. Come on, Ramza can take care of himself, lets go on ahead to see if there's anything else here that needs to be taken care of." Kairi said, wincing as she stood up. Everyone else got up too. Kenny grumbled and retrieved his daggers from where they were knocked too. "I hate feeling useless.." He mumbled. "Well, let's do as Kairi suggested and go on ahead." Master said. Kenny sighed and nodded. They slowly headed through the doors to the Sanctuary to see if there was any other danger they needed to take care of.
Ramza felt fangs and teeth bite into him, feeling part of his life and blood flow out of him. The small feeling of bloodlust hit him too. But he ignored it. "Zalbag.." He mumbled against his brothers' shoulder, unwrapping one of his hands from around his brother and bringing it up to his face, cupping his cheek he slowly pushed him off. Zalbag let out a hiss of annoyance at this. But the feeling of bloodlust started to retreat from him, his concious coming back. What? What had happened? Why..? 'Kill him now!' The voice hissed. He ignored it and tried to figure out what had happened. "Brother, do you love me still..?" Ramza asked softly. He pulled back to stare into his brothers eyes. He saw how clouded and confused they were, but he say some spark of reconition in them.
Zalbag thought hard at the question he heard. He barely reconized the voice, all of his thoughts and memory were very blurry and hazy to him. He nodded slowly, not able to produce anywords to say anything. Ramza saw the nod and a soft smile came to his face. "Do you remember the first time you told me that?" He questioned softly. "That night when I was crying and upset. Do you remember what you told me?" He went on. Zalbag's eyes closed as he fought to gather his memories, to try and recall things. He remembered something, parts, but not really the whole thing. He caught a few words, then having it come back to him. He opened his eyes and stared down at his little brother. He opened his mouth to try and form his words. "I-i To-old you th-that no matter how bad thi-ings g-got.. That i'd still l-lo-ove you.. I told y-you that a-as long as you wa-anted i'd a-alwa-ays b=be the-ere." He forced the words out, feeling cold and numb again, pain coursing through him. He trmbled at the pain. Ramza felt this and frowned. "Yes, and I still need you, I still need you to love me, I still need you here." He whispered softly. Zalbag felt another tremour of bloodlust hit him, he fought it, but the feeling of having blood so close to him was nearly overwhelming. Especially as how it was still flowing from the bite he had given his brother already.
Josh, kenny, Master, Lori and Kairi made their way into the Chapel and looked around. There were bodies everywhere, blood was spilled everywhere, there appeared to have been much chaos during that time. There was a faint groan from the bodle of Funeral. Lori hurried over to him and knelt by him. He looked up and held his hand out to her. "H-hel..p.. Me.." He moaned out. She looked over at his wounds. "These are bad." She stated. "T-there h-headed f-for the seal.." He said again. Master came over and joined them. "Where? Do you know?" He asked. Funeral nodded weakly. "O..Orbonne.." He wheezed out, reaching out once again. "H.. Help.. M.." He didn't finish his sentance as he went lifeless, his hand falling limply to the floor. Lori shook her head sadly and stood up, followed by Master. "They're headed for Orbonne Monatsary." She said. Master nodded. Kenny was looking around the place, gathering the weapons, items, and other things he could find among the corpses that were still valuble. Josh rolled his eyes. "Damn theif.." He muttered. Kenny grinned cheekily. Kairi said nothing but smiled to herself.
Ramza pulled back from his brother and looked at him again. "Do you still need me? As much as I need you? Do you still feel the way I do?" He asked him softly. Zalbag's thoughts were jumbled as he tried to process what he had said. All the while fighting the bloodlust feeling and the numbness. 'Do you still need me..?' The voice echoed in his mind, It had sounded so desprate. When Ramza recieved no answer, he looked in his brothers eyes yet again, finding only cloudiness and flickering bloodlust in there. He decided to risk something that may cost him either his life or might be his only hope of bringing his brother back.
Ramza leaned forward and brushed his lips over his brothers' in a soft, hesitant kiss. Zalbag stiffend as he felt the gesture upon him. Wha? Why? What was going on? His eyes closed. Whatever it was, he wanted more of it. He felt himself lean forward and bring his lips upon his brothers'. When Ramza felt this, his insides were overjoyed. He slowly started to respond to the kiss, bringing his arms up to wrap around Zalbag's neck, one hand busying themself with the hair at the nape of his neck. This feeling was so natural to Zalbag, he felt as if he had known if for a long time. He let himself concentrate on this feeling. The numbness, the voice, the bloodlust all drifted away - forgotten, as he lost himself in this kiss.
Ramza was feeling overly excited as he felt his brother move to deepen the kiss. Tilting his head ever-so-slightly to the side, he deepened the kiss, a small sound from the back of his throat noted his approval. Zalbag heard the sound and couldn't help but shiver. He felt memories and images come back to him as he recalled the sound, having heard it so many times before. He moved slowly to wrap one arm around Ramza's waist and softly push his brother back down to the floor, careful not to hurt him as he did, all the while not breaking their kiss. The famaliiarity was obvious in this movement, as he slowly sought entrance to Ramza's mouth, asking to deepen the kiss once more.
Ramza felt his heart speed up as he felt his brother softly probing his lips, asking for entrance. His eyes lit up before hazily shutting themselves. 'Maybe there's hope for him yet..' He thought as he felt himself lowered to the floor, bringing his hands down to grip his shoulders. He slowly parted his lips and let his other explore.
"We should head back now, I think Kenny's picked this room three times over." Josh said. Kenny just grinned. Master rolled his eyes at the twin brothers and Lori just giggled. They headed for the doors but Kairi stood infront of the door. "What's up, Kairi?" Josh asked. Kairi, for once looked a bit embarassed and shocked all at once. The others noted this and wondered what it could possibly be. "Umm.. I D-don't think we should go back in there right now!" She said fastly. Kenny arched an amused brow and went over to Kairi. "And why not?" He asked. Kairi's cheeks flushed out as he asked. She looked at Josh, then Kenny. "Would *you* want others to see what *you* do in your free time?" She asked them, pinning both Josh and Kenny with a 'If-You-Don't-Listen-To-Me-I'll-Tell-Everyone-Your-Secret' Look. Kenny and Josh both paled and looked between eachother and then looked back at Kairi, then it clicked. "Oh! Um.." Kenny said, he turned to the others. "Kairi's right, we shouldn't go back there yet." Kenny said, a pink tint flushing over his face as he ran a hand through his long blonde hair. Josh nodded, looking embarassed. Lori and Master both raised their brows at this and looked at Kairi who smirked, giving off a 'I-Know-Something-But-I-Won't-Tell' feeling. Lori shrugged and went back to the steps and sat on them. Master soon followed and they started talking quietly. Kenny and Josh looked at eachother before wandering off to the other side of the chapel and started whispering to the other. Kairi rolled her eyes, but smiled knowingly.
Zalbag felt the younger respond and he slowly explored. Finding, tasting, memorizing. It was like the first time he had ever done this, but his body knew better. It was all too familliar. Memories, imaged started filling his mind, showing him that it was indeed, not the first time. He let out a soft moan as he felt himself being pulled farther down, the kiss even more deepend at this. He felt himself growing warmer, the confining feeling leaving his body as he slowly ran his hands along his brother's sides. Ramza shuddered underneath his other as he gave himself completely over to him. This reminded him so much of earlier times. Before the war, before the academy, back when he was innocent. He lazily opened his eyes and saw the changes in his brothers' face and movements. Non-constricted, no pained winces, just peaceful bliss was on his brothers' face. His eyes fell shut once more as he responded yet again to his brothers' demands.
What Zalbag felt, he couldn't explain. The warmth was so inviting, the feel of his little brother underneath him, the taset of him, he couldn't get enough. But he then realized how much his lungs were bursting, the need for air was becoming very annoying. He reluctantly pulled back though, just enough so they could get air. Ramza had nearly forgotten the need to breathe until he felt the pain in his chest. He felt his brother break the kiss and started taking in air greedily. He panted as he fought to catch his breath. he opened his eyes half-way to see his brother staring down at him. He smiled, a soft flush coming to his cheeks
Zalbag stared down at his half-lidded brother. Images, memories of what he had forgotten came back to him. The feelings he had had on him, the bloodlust, the voice, the numbing feeling - were all gone. He finally felt warm again. He opened his mouth to speak. "H-hey.." He said softly. Ramza smiled even more. "Hey." Hey replied lazily, reaching up to brush aside his brothers' now messed-up hair. "Are you okay..?" He asked softly, concerned. He nodded at his little brother. "Y-yeah, just a little confused.. What happened..?" He asked quietly. Ramza smiled sympatheticly. "After Dycedarg turned into Lucavi, you dissappeared, we came here to Murond temple to get Alma.. But Vormav double-crossed us.. He summoned some of Lucavi's minions.. And you.. You were under the control of Lucavi, he tried to get you to kill me.." He said softly. Zalbag's eyes widened. He recalled part of his memories. He groaned. "Oh Ramza, i'm so sorry.." He rested his head down on Ramza's shoulder. Ramza smiled and put his arms around his brother. "It's nothing brother, I promise. You didn't do too much damage." He said. Zalbag rose up and looved over his brother and eyes the bite mark on his neck and slowly reached over and turned Ramza's head to the side for a better look. "I'm sorry.." He said as he remembered biting him. Ramza smiled. "It's nothing. It doesnt even hurt." He got a mischievous grin on his face. "Besides, what better way to show you own me?" He grinned. Zalbag's eyes widened at that, but he laughed despite this. "I'm glad your back.." Ramza said quietly. He smiled and leaned down to brush his lips against his little brothers'. "So am I.."

DSK: That had to have been the most.. fluffiest, craziest, most weirdest thing ive ever written.. And yet.. I LOVE IT!
Mandra: It was rather interesting if I do say so myself.
DSK: Yes well, this is what happens when you stay up all night playing FFT then decide to write a fanfic about it..
Mandra: As for Kairi, Josh, Kenny, Lori, and Master, these would be considered the characters you get from the Academy. Kairi - Oracle/Seer. Josh - Wizard. Kenny - Theif/Ninja Master - Lancer Lori - Chemist/Priest. I have others, but those were the main people I chose for the fic.. (coughs)
DSK: as for the Kenny/Josh hinting, they're my muses, and yes, they are brothers, and yes they are together. So what? As for Kairi, she knows all, sees all. basiclly. Lol. Anyways
Mandra: Review if you wish. Flames accepted. Praise welcomed, and any other comment is fine ^_^
DSK: Anyways, Ja all!
Mandra: Yes I realize The age difference between these two, BUT WHO THE HELL CARES!? I think its cute and if you dont like, you can flame me/us! We don't care.
