He was so sick of the day and he had not even been out of bed yet. Zack wished nothing more than to stay in bed all day...maybe convince his sturdy roommate to stay with him. But he knew the general. Sephiroth would have to make his duty rounds and inspect the new recruits for SOLIDER. How he wished Sephiroth would take a day off. His head hurt and he almost wished he hadn't drank all that beer to himself, but his DEAR roommate refused to drink any of the liquids.
"Zaxk, wake up. You're going to be late for your class. You're students will not be pleased." Sephiroth stood at his roommate's bedroom door, musing over how to wake the poor man. "Zack..."
Zack squinted at the doorway, "Fuck Seph, I wanna sleep. Cancel my classes."
"No." Sephiroth grinnned as he grabbed a corner of the blanket and pulled.
Zack squeeled as the cold air hit his warm body. "Fuck Seph. I'm awake now. Dammit."
The silver-haired man whistled quietly. "Damn Zack, you're looking healthier everyday. You might just be able to hold your own in a match against me."
"When is that?" Zack commented as he grabbed a towl.
"After lunch today. YOU promised your students that they would get to see the great general in action."
"I promised them? When?"
"Yesterday." Sephiroth grinned, "I will see you at one pm. Oh yes, by the way, they say a new recruit was put in your class today. Apparently he's so good he skipped MY inspection." He laughed softly. "Apparently he is a little rough around the edges."
"From the slums?"
"Ya."
Zack matched his roommate's grin. "Sounds like fun."

"Silence! Keep it down. I can't think with all this yammering!" Zack bellowed as he entered the training hall.
"When are you ever thinking Zack-sensei?" one student called out.
"Did you spend all night drinking again Zack-sensei?" another student inquired.
"Yes, unfortunatly my lovely roommate refused to drink with me...again!" Zack explained dramatically. "And he went to bed before me! Then he locked his bedroom door."
"Ahhhh, poor sensei is being denied." a couple of girls giggled.
"So it seems we have a new recruit among us today." Zack stared at his attendace list. "Strife?"
A short, blonde haired boy, no more than 16 years of age, stood up from his desk in the back corner of the room. "Sir." And he sat back down. His eyes never lifted from the spot on his desk throughout the entire morning classes. And when lunch came around, he simply sat there.

Zack squinted into the sunlight. "Alright everyone. Today, as promised, I have brought the elustrious general of the Shinra company." His teeth flashed as he grinned. "And each of you gets to spar against him. AFTERWARDS, if there is time, you can watch ME go against him." He laughed heartily. "So who wants to go first?" The room hushed immediatly. "All right than, we shall go by recruit number."
Slowly one by one, the general knocked every one of the recruits down. "Who's next?" he inquired
"One left. The new guy. Strife, your up." Zack looked at the blonde.
Sephiroth smiled slightly as the lithe blonde walked into the makeshift arena. "Well come and get me already Strife."
"One should never attack first." came the quiet response.
"Then no one would fight now would they? Very well..." Sephiroth sprang from his position. It was over in seconds, Both men fell to the ground. The blonde from the hook to the face and the general from the roundhouse kick to the abs. "Damn. What is your name?"
"Cloud, general. Cloud Strife." The blonde saluted happily as he wiped the blood from his mouth.
"Zack, I want to see him personally in my office at the end of the class." Sephiroth stood up, laughing softly. "And you as well Zack."
"Yessir!" Zack laughed, mockingly saluting the general.

Zack stood with the blonde on the other side of the looming door. "Don't worry he don't bite."
"I know."
Zack grinned mischeviously. "Don't act so cold. The two of you might just get along after all. Icebergs!" Zack knocked on the door in front of him. "General Shiny! I brought you a gift! Its pretty!" He laughed softly as the curt 'Enter' came from inside the room. Zack opened the door casually walking in and plopping down on the leather sofa in the office. "As promised, I have brought the birde,
