Complications

Summary: Takes place 13 years after `After the End'. What's going to happen now that the evil has been defeated? Or has it?

A/N: This chapter takes place 8 months after the very end of the first story. I suggest you read all of `After the End' first.

Chapter 1: New Additions

Erin Sayling Siri-Almasy squeezed her husband's hand as she was trying to deliver their child.

`Not child, Erin. Children.'

Rinoa paced back and forth, waiting for news on Erin. Aires was sitting on a bench, head in her hands. Sayrion was next to her, just in case Aires lost control of her power.

Soran held Shaina tight as they were waiting for news. He was starting to get nervous and had to keep his eyes shut so that he didn't lose control. He could sense Rinoa pacing, as was Zell. Squall had his head in his hands. Aires was doing the same as Squall with Sayrion trying to help her.

Aires looked up and stared at the door, trying to hold back her thoughts. It really did help that Sayrion was there.

`Erin, please be okay!'

At that very second, the door slammed open to reveal a very tired Dr. Kadowaki.

"Aires Prayling Siri?"

"Yeah?" Aires asked, looking at her.

Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at the doctor.

Seifer finally got up from his wife's side to go join Dr. Kadowaki. For the first time in hours he realized how tired her was... and how numb his right hand was.

"Yeah?"

"I'd... No, we'd like for you to come here please," Seifer answered, looking at his sister-in-law.

Aires got up from her seat and entered the room. She could feel all eyes following her as she did too. She thought about sending them a nasty thought, but she knew Erin would chew her out if she did.

Erin looked up weakly at her sister that had just come in.

"Hey," Erin stated as Aires sat down where Seifer used to be sitting.

"Hey, how are you doing?"

"Tired."

"I bet."

Crying could be heard from another room. Aires looked over at Seifer.

"Hey, could you leave please?"

"Sure."

Seifer left without another word, Aires turned her attention back to her sister.

"Well?"

"Triplets, like I guessed before."

"Lucky, I have yet to find a true love."

Dr. Kadowaki walked over to where the two girls were.

"Erin, it's time to do the naming. Hold on, I'll bring them in."

"Thanks."

Aires looked at Erin and smiled. "Man, they don't even wait til you are stronger. Do you still have enough strength to even use your power?"

"Yeah, but it's not my actual power I use. That's what Edea told me anyways a few months ago. It's another sense that the Siri parent gets when they touch the child's forehead."

"Oh, I see..."

The crying started to get louder as Dr. Kadowaki and her assistant brought in the children. One of the girls was handed to Erin, and another to Aires.

"You mean I have to help?"

"That why I wanted you in here!"

"Oh man..."

Erin put her hand to her child's forehead and closed her eyes so that she could sense the power. She opened her eyes a minute later.

"Hey name is Rachel Sayling Siri."

Aires smiled, knowing that Rachel had gotten her mother's power. Aires closed her eyes and put her hand to the baby's forehead in her arms to sense the power.

"Her name is Mackenzie, Aires," Erin stated when Aires opened her eyes, knowing that she could hear her.

Aires just stared at Erin as if she were scared.

"Dr. Kadowaki, go tell someone to get Edea now!" Erin exclaimed.
