A/N: *faints* Yes! I can't believe I actually got reviews!

To all reviewers: THANK YOU SO MUCH! And to the one who mentioned Terian, yeah, she's Beatrix and Steiner's child.

Oh yeah, and I'm all alone again!

Disclaimer (oops, forgot it in first chapter!): Squaresoft owns all things FF9, and I own original characters/ideas (Angel, Tarino, Soria, Rose, and Terian).

Mikoto Tribal walked into the grand entrance hall of Alexandria Castle and gasped. It was even more magnificent than she would have ever imagined. She heard some of the new members of the Burmecian Delegation gasp as well.

"Oh my... Mikoto!" Zidane exclaimed happily, resisting the urge to tackle hug her.

"Hello Zidane."

~

Silver closed the shade again after the town had watched the delegation enter the castle. He could have sworn he'd seen someone vaguely familiar. Someone that wasn't a rat. He walked over to the arguing girls and pulled them apart before they got into a physical fight.

"Girls, girls! Let's just put the groceries away, okay?" Silver sighed, and looked at the table the groceries were on. Or should I say, used to be on! "Uh, where are the groceries?"

Soria and Rose looked at the table to see what Silver was talking about. They then looked at each other and the arguing started all over again.

"Because of you the groceries are gone!" Rose argued.

"ME? No, Rose, it's because of YOU!" Soria shouted.

"GIRLS! Arguing won't help anything!" Silver yelled over both of them.

Both of them looked at her and finally noticed a small giggling that was echoing through the now quiet house. There were next footsteps, and the sound of their back door opening and closing.

"THIEF!" all three shouted, taking off in a run.

Silver grabbed the cloak he'd been using to get around and threw it on, covering his silver hair and tail. They chased the thief out of the house and down the many winding streets of the bustling city of Alexandria.

They watched him run down a small ramp that leads to the small chapel. They followed him down it and into the mini-theater.

"Why hello there, Soria!" a cheerful female voice greeted them.

Angel held back a yawn. This was always boring. She didn't even know WHY she had to come. But she snapped into attention when Mikoto started talking.

"I hope you all know I'm not here just for a visit. The genomes, the ones that used to have to ask questions all the time, want to propose something, and they wanted me to do it," Mikoto explained. "I've already proposed to Lindblum and Burmecia. They both agreed, and when the Burmecian King told me that a delegation would be coming here, I asked to be allowed to come."

"So, what's this proposal?" Zidane asked.

"The genomes wish to start building several more cities. With all the mist monsters gone for the past thirteen years, and with them learning a lot about Gaia in that time frame, they said that more cities would help out all Gaian citizens," Mikoto explained.

`If they build more cities, that'll mean larger cities like Alexandria would be a lot less crowded, and more homes would be available to the homeless,' Angel thought, the part of her mother's life going over her usual impatient one.

"Regent Cid of Lindblum and the king of Burmecia completely agree. And as the contract with the Black Mage village says, any worldwide decisions must be brought up with the three kingdoms of the Mist Continent," Mikoto said.

"Correct. There are already a few smaller cities, but it's starting to get a bit crammed on the Mist Continent. This is the only overly inhabited continent in Gaia, with the Forgotten Continent still having no cities. The Outer Continent also still only has the same cities from thirteen years ago," Dagger explained.

The royal family, the Burmecian Delegation, and Mikoto all heard sudden footsteps, clanking of heavy armor, and shouts. The door burst open as the people ran in.

"We all saw someone take our groceries and come this way. Did you see anyone?" Soria asked.

"Nope. Only people I've seen are the tenants... Wai', someone did come a runnin' in with a sack," the girl said.

"Ruby, which way did they go?" Rose asked.

"Headed that way. Thing is, that way is a dead end!" Ruby exclaimed. "I'll show you."

~

"STEINER!" Garnet yelled. "What in blazes are you doing?"

"I... There... a thief ran through here and I was trying to catch them!" Steiner panted.

"Which way, father?" Terian asked.

Steiner pointed towards the royal bedrooms and Terian took off running. Angel asked to be excused, as did Tarino, and both of them ran after Terian. Angel fell behind slightly, but managed to slip into her room for a minute and quickly switch out of her royal dress for a day dress.

Angel ran out and found Terian and Tarino impatiently waiting for her. The three ran in a direction they unmistakably all knew as the brand new entrance to the Gargant tunnel.

"Our tunnel has no food though!" Angel whispered, remembering what she'd been told several days before.

"So, either the idiot is going to jump or he's stuck," Terian whispered back.

`Let's hope it's the second choice,' Tarino thought.

They ran down the stairs that replaced the old maze down to the tunnel and found the thief, for some reason, waiting for a gargant. Terian stopped the two royal family members and snuck up on the thief. She wrapper her arms around him and started dragging him up the stairs.

After dragging the thief back up the stairs and into the meeting room in five minutes. Terian carried him over to the queen and waited for her word. Since the thief was covered in a robe, Dagger had to uncover him.

The thief closed his eyes as she removed the cloak, to reveal a teenage boy with some food in hand. He had a regular boy haircut, and ragged clothing. He kept his eyes closed as they all examined him.

"Farin?" Tarino whispered.

The boy opened his eyes slowly and looked at the twelve-year-old. Angel gasped as she suddenly recognized the boy.

"Farin?" Angel asked this time.

Farin stayed quiet as Dagger spoke up.

"Do you two know this young man?" she asked her children.

"Yes mother, we do. What I don't get is why Farin here was stealing from us," Angel replied.

"I'm sorry, your majesty," Farin finally said. "I didn't think you'd allow me to eat with you."

Zidane stood up and walked over to the boy.

"I want you to understand something. I, Zidane Tribal, King of Alexandria, used to be a thief. Mind you, it's not the best business in Gaia," Zidane admitted. "If you are friends with Angel and Tarino, you are, of course, welcome here."

"Really?" Farin asked.

"Really," Zidane smiled. "Do you have any parents?"

"No. They died when I was only five. I've been taken care of by the manager of the Alexandrian Mini Theater since then, and met the prince and princess when they were there one day," Farin explained.

"I'm terribly sorry about that," Dagger finally said.

Zidane got back up and looked at the Burmecian Delegation, who were now talking amongst themselves.

"Everyone, is there anything else you wish to propose?" Zidane asked the delegation. "Mi, we'll talk later."

Mikoto nodded her head, still not really used to the nickname Zidane had started using years ago.

"Yes, Burmecia was also talking about starting cities out on other continents," Freya replied.

"Okay then. Everyone but Mikoto, Freya, and Fratley from the delegation may leave," Dagger said.

The rest of the delegation left, leaving Zidane, Dagger, Mikoto, Freya, Fratley, Angel, Tarino, and Farin in there.

"Everyone, take a seat, and let's talk," Garnet ordered.

The ones standing all did so and they did, in fact, start to talk.

"Okay, I agree, maybe it's time we start building cities on the Forgotten Continent," Zidane stated.

"The main reason the Genomes want it is so that we can expand a new city, so that it's not so cramped," Mikoto exclaimed.

"I see. That village is sort of small for both Genomes and Black Mages," Garnet mumbled.

Everyone in the room nodded their head.

"My queen, shall we start plans for a group to go to the Forgotten continent?" Beatrix asked, bowing to Garnet.

"Yes. Send airship's for now, and once we get started with building out there, we will start cutting into the cliffs for boat docks," Garnet said, standing up. "We will leave immediately for the Black Mage Village."

Angel grinned broadly, happy that she'd finally get to see the world beyond the Mist Continent.

Ruby lead the group down the path the thief had taken, only to find a hole in the wall.

"Well, it's not a dead end anymore!" Rose joked.
