A clash of thunder sounded off as Vincent walked through the heavy rain. His breath was a little heavy as he could remember starting to walk sometime ago. The wind was just as fierce as the thunder and rain continued to pour.

Ahead was a small town. Vincent stood there watching from a far, wanting to be with others but knowing better. You know you can't. They hate monsters like you. Shaking his head as if trying to ignore something. Heading into the town Vincent would walk about it a little bit before heading to the inn.

As another clap of thunder went off the innkeeper looked up at the door. Did he just hear someone? Getting up from his seat the man opened the door to find a man standing there, staring at him with his glowing blood red eyes. Startled, the man jumped back. There stood Vincent at 6 feet tall. Long unruly black hair, his long bangs draped around his almost pure white skin. His clothes were black. At least his shirt and baggy pants were. Sleeves rolled up to his elbows there was a fingerless black glove on the right hand. Two thin belts placed around his waist. There sat two guns on each side. One was a pistol, the other his shotgun. He wore boots that almost came to his knees. Even the tips of the toe were covered in a golden colored metal and came to a sharp point. On top of that wore a blood red headband that wrapped around his head several times, which made his hair look even messier. A matching cloak was worn as well with only one of its buckles unbuckled. There was a rim sort of collar that hid the lower part of his face well to hide all expressions with his moth if only he had any. The scariest thing about Vincent was the metal claw he had on his left arm. Just below the elbow his flesh goes into this golden metal. It was very basic. He could bend the wrist part and the pointed claw like fingers were able to bend like real fingers.
“A room…?” Vincent merely asked. When the innkeeper finally moved out of the doorway to let Vincent in but he did not move. “Uh yes, we have a free room. Come in and dry off.”

Finally Vincent stepped into the inn. The innkeeper quickly closed the door behind him. “I'm sorry sir, I wasn't expecting anyone in this storm. You can have the room in the back.”

Vincent didn't wait for the innkeeper and went to his room. Closing the door he gave a quick glance around one the nothing the usual, a bed, nightstand, one window where you could see the pouring rain. Walking to the window Vincent could feel his clothes dripping. When was the last time it rained like this? Nibelheim, that's when it rained the last time.

He felt nervous. It's been like this for months now. Trying to fix things, keep things from getting out of hand. But they had. Lucrecia was slipping away from him. Why couldn't she care like she should? Time after time he suggested going far away with him. As long as they were away from Nibelheim Vincent didn't care where. Even Wutai was okay. But, she wouldn't go. She couldn't just leave everything like that. Lucrecia loved it too much here. Perhaps she loved science just as much as Hojo does. Her resistance to leaving only pushed Vincent away. He stayed in the bars more often and yet other times he wouldn't leave her alone unless ordered to.

This night was the worse though. While in the inn, Lucrecia had gone into labor all by herself. By the time Vincent finally came in to check on her, the baby had already been born. Vincent was already wet from the heavy rain outside and yet he still knelt down next to her, holding her. “Vincent…” she gave a tired gasp.

All of this it wasn't right! How could she have fallen so far? There seemed only one way to fix things. “Yes, Lucrecia?” Vincent asked, quietly.

“Sephiroth…is he.. Okay?” she gasped again.

Vincent nodded. “Do you want the pain to stop?”

She gave a quick not thinking Vincent would get Hojo.

Getting up Vincent took one of the pillows before kneeling next to her again. “I shall stop your suffering.” He said as he pleased the pillow over her face and pressed down. There were a few muffled noises and trying to pull his hand away but she was already too tired.

Her fighting soon stopped.

Getting up Vincent ignored the cries of the poor child. They had things in the common that no one would know. Sitting at the table with the pillow in his arms. Vincent started to sob silently to himself. That's twice now he lost to them.

Soon enough Hojo came in rubbing his forehead. One look at the bloody mess on the floor and he knew what happened. Moving to the child, he took one of the bed sheets, and wrapped him up in them.

“The child seems fine in spite of you just leaving it there.” Hojo scoffed.
Pausing, Vincent looked up at Hojo, glaring at him. “Lucrecia is dead.”
“Yes, it's a shame she died in childbirth.”

Staring out the inn Vincent could see how much water there was from the rain. Junon, he thought, wasn't a very smart place for a town as water was all around. Of course the upper city never had to worry about heavy rain. Of course Vincent never liked the water. The water was almost up to his knees. Still, if he moved quickly he could get out of this sun and be somewhere dry.

There were two men standing by a car. One was pulling things out, as the other would hold the things in a basket. “I can't believe how much the beach flooded.” One huffed.

“Yeah, it made a lot of people sick though with either a cold or fever.” The man shifted his hands on the basket to hold it better. “We're really glad that old guy was here to treat the sick.”

“The people really had to twist his arm though to do it.” The first man said, as he was annoyed with this fact. “Stupid four eyed freak.”

“Hey, don't be to angry, anyway. At least he's helping. It's a few kids, y'know.”
That caught most of Vincent's attention. He didn't really care to much as he kept moving through the water filled streets. His eyes were casted down towards the ground so he didn't so he didn't know—thud! He bumped into someone and fell on their butt with a splash. Looking over figure his eyes widen in shock. Sitting there grumbling was Hojo. He was wearing the same clothes as Vincent saw him in. Of course Hojo clothes usually were mostly all the same. The long white lab coat, black slacks, and a white shirt to match. His long black hair was pulled back into a low ponytail at the base of his neck, ratty and greasy looking as always. He glared back at Vincent completely ignoring the shocked look he had.

“You…should be dead…” Vincent tried to say a bit demanding yet, his voice shook.

“Perhaps, and what are you going to do? Kill me?” He merely said in a rude, annoyed tone.

Vincent took a step back and looked away. “No…I shouldn't..” He shook his head slightly. “I can't…” He whispered.

This made Hojo arch an eyebrow. “Oh? Afraid of sinning again?” Getting up he began to ring out his lab coat.

Vincent could feel his hand starting to shake a little as his eyes went to the ground again.

“It doesn't matter anyway, Valentine, what you want. There's no place for either of us really.” He gave a small laugh as he turned his back on Vincent as if knowing he wouldn't attack him.

“The children… You…” Vincent mumbled out.
“Hm? Ah yes, the children. I didn't think you cared about anyone. The children are fine, Valentine.” He said as he started to walk away Vincent could only stand there and watch.

Go with him. A voice whispered.

Staring for a moment longer before he walked after Hojo. Glancing over his shoulder Hojo could see the vampire follow him. Glancing back again and noticed Vincent wasn't there anymore. With a sigh the scientist rubbed his forehead.
