"Leave it to you," Salira mumbled to herself while looking at the young man in font of her, "You're gonna die if you fight her alone!" She then looked at her father; "He's kidding right?" Cloud shrugged his shoulders.
The young man ran forward. "Sonic Wave!" he shouted as he and the dark wave fused into one, soon shooting right through Sethrinn. "Stupid bitch…" he added. Sethrinn didn't see this coming and slammed into the ground. She got up and, what looked like to the fighters, unharmed. "You all are fools to challenge me!" she yelled at them. The young man stood up, feeling dizzy. "It's Salira, right? You remind of someone I once knew," he said, aiming to attack Sethrinn once more. "I won't let another life get killed because of me!" he shouted as he fused with another Sonic Wave attack and sent it at Sethrinn. He slammed into her, sending her back while he crashed into a wall. He was losing breath and blood fast. He had nothing left to live for and he knew he wasn't going to survive this battle.
While Sethrinn was getting up, the young man did the last thing he could. "DIE! SONIC BARRAGE!" he said as loud as he could, launching a few more waves of energy at Sethrinn. Sethrinn teleported out of the way as fast as she could into the sky. The waves rammed into some broken buildings, and whatever was left, was shattered. The young man hit the ground, unconscious, with Sethrinn's wicked laughs filling the area. Aunt Aeris…I'm sorry I couldn't get my revenge…same with you… he thought as he laid there.
Salira ran over to the unconscious young man. "Don't give up on your life, you can still live! It won't be your fault if a life was lost, it would be mine. Please, don't go now!" Salira softly said, breaking into tears. Tears rolled down the side of her face, dripped, and stained the boy's clothes. "Please…" The word faded as she said it. She looked up at Sethrinn. "You psychopath! Is this what you call entertainment! Ruining others lives to laugh!" The reply was laughter. "Correct, girl! Very well correct!" Sethrinn shouted from above. Cloud stood between them, "You're no different then Sephiroth!" His eyes were locked on Sethrinn. Salira looked back down at the young man, softly crying.
"Hey, Salira. It's okay," Lega softly said, trying to calm Salira down. He began to walk to her, but Sicotto stopped him by putting his hand on his shoulder. "Lega, let her be." Raven looked from Salira to the young man, then to Sethrinn. "Sethrinn has a sick mind," Raven remarked. "Having people suffer like this."
--
The young man awoke in a white room. He stood up and looked around; he saw many objects from his past. As he walked forward, two demons popped up from the ground and transformed. One into Salira, the other into a small girl. "Where am I?" the young man thought to himself as he heard screams around him. He tried to run away, but couldn't when a young lady with long brown hair appeared. "Eric, don't run away," she said a Holy Materia came from her chest. "Show them our power. Show them how superior the Cetra are!" She said in a loud voice. The young man grabbed the Holy Materia and turned to face Salira and the small girl. "What am I doing?" he asked himself. The girl stepped forward and sat down. "Take her gift. Revenge my death and kill them all!" she yelled out. The young man then looked at Salira, who was looking down with a depressed look. "I'm sorry," he said to her. He somehow knew what she was thinking: Without you, I can't beat her…
--
The young man stood up, pushing Salira aside. Salira smiled to see him alive. The young man looked at his hand and saw the tint of Holy. "Let's go Sethrinn! One more fight!" he yelled as his wounds healed. "Omega Collision!" A white light, then, consumed him, and his eyes turned a pale green. Out of the light, stood the young man with two swords and a pair of angel wings. He faced Salira, "Get everyone out of here. NOW!" He vanished and appeared up in the air near Sethrinn. "You heard him, Salira!" Lega yelled to Salira, but she ignored him and ran to the aerial fighters.
Salira stood right below them and called to the young man, "Ha! You think I'm gonna miss the fun?" Her Masamune replica appeared in her had and pointed it toward Sethrinn, then to Sephiroth. "You're not doing this alone. I'll be regretting if you die, because it was my fault they're here and I didn't get to do anything to stop them!"
The young man looked down at Salira. "Very well, but make sure you stay out of my way. I don't want to hurt you," he said as he lowered himself beside Salira. "Aw, how touching," Sethrinn taunted. Her blade was ready. Salira looked back at the three in the sidelines. "Raven, Sicotto, Lega…stay put. Don't come in!" she yelled to them. She wanted to face Sethrinn herself, if not, then with just one other person; and she already found that person. She then looked to her father, Cloud seemed to have got the message without her telling him. He nodded and Salira returned her glance at Sethrinn. "Alright! Let's do this!"
"Remember stay out of my way. I don't want to hurt you," the young man repeated. Salira just rolled her eyes and mumbled, "Whatever." "Here I go! Sonic Blade!" the young man yelled as he launched a twirling blade toward Sethrinn. Sethrinn easily dodged it, "You'll have to be faster then that!" The blade returned to the young man. His face expression was serious. It was Salira's turn now. She remembered just then her ability to change into a one-winged angel. Half ready to do it, she then remembered one more thing: her father saying about it being to risky and only to do it in an emergency. Blast you Sephiroth! Salira held up her sword and slammed it down instead, facing Sethrinn. "Magic Rush!" The three magic pillars headed straight for her target, Sethrinn. "It's pay back!" Salira sneered.
Sethrinn teleported out of the way and appeared behind Salira. "That is what you think, brat!" she retaliated, kicking Salira in the back and slamming her down on the ground. The young man teleported behind Sethrinn. "Don't touch her!" he yelled, grabbing Sethrinn by the back of her shirt and throwing her into the remaining of a church wall, causing the wall to collapse around Sethrinn. He then stood on the ground next to Salira. "Are you okay?" he asked her as he helped her back up. Raven decided to join in, "Let's finish this then!"
Standing back, Sephiroth had only briefly listened to Vincent's words. Overcome with the pain he felt at the injuries his daughter had sustained he screamed out in rage. "Sethrinn, Do not put yourself in danger! You mean too much to me to lose you! You bastard Vincent! Hybrid freak of nature! You and all these other lesser beings are not fit to live!"
As Vincent charged, the 1st Class SOLDIER stepped to the side and outstretched a leg, tripping him. Kicking up with the other leg, he pushed Vincent up and span around grabbing his head with both hands. "I could snap your neck like a twig, beast! But then I wouldn't have the pleasure of seeing the expression on your face when your daughter dies, then would I? Heh." Dropping him on the ground he began to circle around as Vincent began to get up. "Now I've stated my wish, I think it fair to agree to a new settlement. The next time I could easily kill you in one deft move; You lose. But you kill me to win. Fair? Humph, who cares about fair. I make the rules now!"
"I am the freak!?" Vincent shouted as he moved to his feet and cracked the knuckles on his armored hand. "Me, when through your veins runs the blood of a creature not of this world!?" He stopped and pulled the shroud away from his face, then turned aside and spit blood onto a pile of stones. Although his head stayed turned away, his eyes returned back to Sephiroth.
"You and your pathetic self-righteous attitude... and you don't even understand it wasn't Jenova you owed your life to." He smiled as one of Sephiroth's eyebrows twitched. "I wonder if Leigh addressed you the way I told her to if she ever met you, as a cousin." Sephiroth's eyebrow twitched again. "So she did, did she... it hurt to keep Leigh in the dark, only telling her half-truths when it came to you.... When we stormed Midgar, Hojo was there, waiting for you, saying his son had finally come home. Hojo was mistaken. Hojo was not your father, Jenova was not your mother. Lucretia was your mother...." He turned full-front facing Sephiroth and scowled, making a tight fist with his armored hand. "And I am your father. Leigh referred to you as cousin, she should have called you brother. But she didn't know any better. This is the secret I've told no one - not Cloud, not Leigh, not Elena, not Yuffie, not anyone."
He rolled his head back, cracking bones in his spine, then returned Sephiroth's stony glare. "Call me what you want. Freak, bastard, monster... it doesn't matter anymore. Lucretia and my blood runs through your veins, corrupted by the Jenova cells. Elena and my blood runs through Leigh's, corrupted by Hojo's experiments on me." His eyes narrowed into a deeper scowl. "And I don't give a rat's ass who makes the rules anymore. If my tainted blood makes me unfit to exist, yours is no better. Run back to Jenova if you think she can still save you - she's rotting somewhere in the bottom of that crater, drowned in the Lifestream. Until then, I won't stop until Leigh is out of your claws!" With another blind charge Vincent reared forward, aiming another punch for Sephiroth's head, a punch he knew would never connect.
Putting one hand out Sephiroth crushed his father's hand and kicked him to the ground. "You think I didn't know that! What do you think I did in Nibelheim! Burned it to a crisp because of bad service! I learnt the truth and it crushed my soul and my spirit! Lucretia was a worm. She may have given birth to me but that was not her DNA, nor were they your pathetic cells! Jenova, my true mother had corrupted those cells and they became mine. She is my only parent and I became her son because of fate. All things are because of fate, like this!" Reaching down and grabbing Vincent by the throat he stared down in to his eyes. Then he began to speak every word strengthening his will, squeezing stronger and stronger. "I pity you. Your existence on this realm is futile and meaningless. What have you done for this world!? You created me! You brought this world to it's knees before its new master and you dared to kill me!? But, you couldn't even to that! The one thing you were sure about, killing your son! Maybe I would be different if you were anywhere near me in my upbringing. Maybe I wouldn't have considered destroying this world. Maybe I wouldn't have believed the records at the Nibelheim Mansion!"
Looking straight into his eyes, Sephiroth said in what seemed a dull hum, but was clear to everyone nearby, "You made two mistakes: One- Thought I was dead, and now that has sealed your doom; and Two- that Jenova, my mother, was dead and that, has assured the death of everyone you ever loved and anyone who dares stand in out way!" Lifting him into the air Sephiroth screamed and threw Vincent into the wall. Turning around his sword flew to him and he faced those who fought against his daughter. "She'll be with us shortly. Then you'll know pain. Then you'll know Hell on earth this day! For Jenova has returned!"
Cloud stepped forward. "I will not let you take anymore lives. I will not let anymore destruction happen!" Cloud sneered, seeming to get Sephiroth and Vincent's. "You harmed enough, Sephiroth!"
Vincent had been a good distraction. In the course of Sephiroth's rage, Yuffie had snatched Leigh from the air and taken her as far from the battlefield as possible, dragging the still-groggy Athrin and Elena with her. As soon as they'd left the area Sephiroth's magic lost its hold and Leigh regained consciousness... and resumed bleeding. "I need something to cure her with fast," the ninja said, lying the bleeding girl on the pavement.
Athrin dug into his pack and pulled out a deep-green materia. As Yuffie began the healing process, the Turk turned back towards the fight, took a puff on his cigarette, then turned to Elena and Yuffie. "Wonder if Vince'll be okay back there," he mumbled.
"Vincent will be fine," Yuffie said as the spell was completed. Completely cured, Leigh lapsed into momentary unconsciousness before finally sitting up. Elena bent down and sat next to her. "Thankfully you're so certain," she sighed.
"Where's Father?" Leigh asked.
"Still fightin' Sephiroth," Athrin mumbled again. "Last thing we saw Sephiroth kicked him over, picked him up by his head and kinda threw him like this." He demonstrated with a bowling-ball-sized rock.
"So now we wait," Yuffie groaned, turning back toward the battlefield. "It's up to Cloud and Vincent now."
Sethrinn dodged Raven's attempt to attack. Once getting back on her feet, Salira answered the young man, "I'm fine, thanks." The young man doubled check to make sure Salira was alright. Salira looked at her father and Vincent. "I wish I could help them. I have an unfinished deal with Sephiroth," she mumbled. The young man over heard. "Let's start with his daughter first," he remarked, grinning. He turned to Sethrinn, who was back up in the air, and blasted another wave at her. Sethrinn didn't see this coming; the wave hit her and she fell down to the ground hard. "Sephiroth! You're about to lose someone!" the young man yelled as he stood a good distance from where Sethrinn laid.
Salira glanced at her allies. "It's my fault this is happening. I should have never came here in the first place!" Salira murmured. "Yeah and if you stayed at the academy," Sicotto started behind her. Salira turned to face him and he continued, "You would have either: one, got caught by the Turks from NeoShinRa, or two, Sephiroth would have already got ya. Salira, I know you can do this."
Sethrinn finally was back on her feet. "You all will die!" she sneered. Salira turned to face her and charged at Sethrinn. "You will not hurt anyone!" she shouted, swinging her sword at her as well. Sethrinn barely missed the attack. As Raven charged for Sethrinn once more, he stopped suddenly and grabbed his side. It began to hurt, piercing pain as if a blade was just thrusted in him. "Argh! What's this?" He looked down to see a piece of pipe sticking out of his side from where he was buried.
