Prologue
With Ultimecia defeated, Squall, Rinoa, and the others became local celebrities. Not the famous sort,
but everyone seemed to know them. Squall and the others had a bit of time to themselves, which they
mostly relaxed in. After all, they'd been on a long quest! Cid Kramer stepped down as Headmaster of
Balamb Garden, but not before doing one final thing - closing SeeD down for good. Cid and Edea
felt that with the threat of the Sorceresses gone, that there was no need for SeeD. But, Balamb
Garden lives on as a boarding school for all those who wish to learn Martial Arts, not for war,
or defending, but simply for keeping the peace. The fate of the Ragnarok now lies in Laguna Loire's
hands, as they felt the ship should return to it's owners in Esthar.
The following events start around one month after the defeat of Sorceress Ultimecia. This is...

Chapter One - And so it begins...
'So what do we do now?' said squall as he sat surrounded by his friends in Edea's House.
'I mean, SeeD is no more... I can't think of anything for me to do, like I have no purpose now'.
'Well, I think we all feel the same Squall' stated Rinoa.
'We all lack a bit of direction, our lives have been changed for good'.
'You know, she has a point Squall' Quistis chipped in.
'It's only natural to feel like this Squall. It will change, don't worry' said Edea,
feeling quite concerned.
'Yeah, but Squall's right! What DO we do now? Theres nothing left!' said Zell, anxiously. He was
thinking of all that SeeD and Balamb Garden meant to him, and how much he'd lose. Zell really
had a passion for this kind of stuff.
'I'm not going back to the Garden, not now there's nothing for me to work for! So you tell me
Squall, what do we do now?'.
'Cool it, chicken-head' quipped a cool as ice Seifer. Seifer had realised his heart was not in
the sorceresses game anymore, and decided to tag along with the 6 ex-SeeD's until he found
something better to do, as is his way.
Zell glared at Seifer, and was quite shocked. 'Chicken-whaaat? You'll regret saying that!' He said
as he shook his fist at Seifer.
'Knock it off you two! Fighting won't solve anything!' said Selphie. She really hated it when people
argued, let alone her friends.
Irvine was sat in the corner, looking half asleep, but he perked up as soon as he heard this.
'It won't solve anything, Selphie. But what is there to be solved? After all, nothing is exactly wrong
is it? I'm hitching a ride back to Balamb on the Garden. I'll see you all there, but be quick, it
leaves in half an hour' he said and proceeded to walk out of the door.
'I'm coming too Irvy, wait up!' shouted an excited Selphie. She's really developed a soft spot
for irvine over the past few months. And with that, they left.
'You know what? I don't think that's a bad idea' said Seifer, smirking.
'Come along chicken-head, hahahaha!'
'WHAAAAAAAAT?' shouted an angry Zell. But, he thought about it for a second, and calmed down.
'I guess so' he said. 'See ya round, Squall!' and Zell and Seifer proceeded to leave.
Squall looked at Quistis and said 'So do you have any plans?'
'I'm not sure...' replied Quistis, 'I know I want to get my teaching license back, but I don't
know where to go now that SeeD has been called off'.
'I'm going to go to the Garden and think things over. See you in a while'
'Just us three now, eh Squall' said Rinoa. 'Are you coming back to the Garden?'
'Give me five minutes' Squall replied, 'I'll be right there'.
'Okay' said Rinoa, as she kissed Squall on the cheek, and left.
'I know you feel a bit lost right now Squall. But things will be fine. Give it some time' said Edea
the only other person in the room.
'WIll you be ok?'
'Of course I will Squall. Me and Cid are fine here, we're planning to raise a family. And who knows,
maybe we'll re-open the orphanage one day'
'But thats for the future. For now, i plan to rest, and I suggest you do the same Squall.'
'I have things to attend to now, and you'd better get to the Garden anyway. Be good' Edea said
as she walked through the back entrance of her home, which was now fixed up and looked wonderous,
onto the beach at the bottom of the steps.
'I... I will' Squall said to himself. 'I have my friends... and Rinoa...
