Ch. 1 Prologue (Andris's point of view)

My name is Alex. I have no idea where I was born. I was raised by adoptive parents in Bevelle. How kind were those people to give me the nickname “The Forbidden Child” simply because I was different from everyone there? I had one real friend aand one real rival…Chris, a user of Holy powers was my friend where as Kyle, a kid with gravity powers such as Demi, was the rival… When I was 12 I left home and joined the Bikanel Mercenaries hoping to become tougher…well…let's just say I was lucky just to survive the initiation…

(At the Mercenary base, Young Alex is being shot at with gunfire and Thundara spells. This is the initiation. One passes if they survive…)

[Alex] AHH!!!! CHILL WITH THE THUNDER AND GUNFIRE ALREADY!!!!

*[Jake] Hu lryhla! Ed'c uhmo paah rymv yh ruin! Oui cdemm ryja 30 seh du ku!

[Clyde] Damn…he's good…

*[Zylgym] … Dra ouihk myt'c tuehk kuut vun rescamv...ra tavehadmo ryt knayd budahdeym...budahdeym dryd E pameaja ra'c oad du naymewa...

By some miracle I was able to survive the full hour without taking a single hit… You can bet that I'd never want to go through that ever again…I stayed there for about 2-3 years though before leaving…

(About 5 yrs later aboard an Airship)

[Mike] We're almost there Alex!

[Alex] Coolness Mike!

You're probably wondering what a swordsman is doing on an airship…well I joined this group of sphere hunters to survive after leaving the Mercenary group…We're heading for Zanarkand now…No we didn't detect a sphere there however…I requested to make a stop there…I had this feeling like something…or someone was calling out to me and I couldn't ignore it…

(The Airship lands and Alex steps out and begins exploring)

And now…as I stare off ahead of me…armed only with a sword-

[Penguins] Peep peep!

…two small penguins that have been following me since I was 14…and my “Special Treasure”…I get this strange feeling like this place will become important to me one day…This…is my story…
