Chapter 2- The Wedding We've Been Waiting For (I Think)
"Queen Garnet, I apologise for my tardyness," Beatrix said, bowing before the Queen. "Oh, please, it's no big deal. Although I do need help with my hair. If you wouldn't mind assisting me," Queen Garnet said with a smile. "Of course not, your highness. So, are you nervous?" The General asked while doing Garnet's hair. "A little, but I feel that maybe now I can finally relax a little knowing that I have the person I love help me watch over Alexandria. What about you? When are you and Steiner going to finally just face the fact that you wanna be together?" Garnet asked looking at Beatrix in the mirror. "What? Oh, your majesty, you know I'm not in any postition to be in a relationship. Oh, who am I kidding, it's that obvious huh?" Beatrix asked looking at the ground. Garnet started laughing, and Beatrix couldn't help but join in. Just then, there was a knock at the door. "Come in," Garnet said. Steiner and Eiko entered the room. "Hey, Garnet!" Eiko said giving her a hug. "Hi Miss Beatrix! Can I talk to you for a moment? It's important," Eiko asked Beatrix, smiling a mischiveous smile. "Why not? Excuse me, Queen," Beatrix said.
"What is it, little miss?" Beatrix asked, pretty curious what there was to discuss. "It's about the reception after the wedding. I was talking to Steiner and it seems he doesn't have a date. So I asked him 'What about Miss Beatrix? She likes you, and you like her! It's so obvious so ask her out!' and he was all like 'What if she says no? I couldn't ask her' so i told him i'd ask you for him. So, what do you say?" Eiko said, looking at the confused look on Beatrix's face. "Oh Miss Eiko, you're always playing matchmaker. You tell Steiner he has until 15 minutes before the wedding to ask me. Or the offer doesn't stand, ok?" Beatrix said, imagining how nervous he would look trying to ask her. "Sure thing, Miss Beatrix. Steiner!!!!" Eiko said running off. Beatrix made her way back to Garnet's room, finished her hair, and headed for the ballroom to check on the arrangements. She walked into the kitchen, bumping into the new head chef, Quina. "Good day, Quina. How is the food coming along?" Beatrix asked. "Alexandria food good. I like. Want taste?" Quina asked offering Beatrix a giant spoon full of her specialty, Frog Soup. (of course, no one actually knew it was made with frog, Quina said it's a secret). "Um, no thank you. You should save it for the reception," Beatrix answered and she walked by the fountain where her dream had taken place. "What did it all mean? It's funny," Beatrix said as she sat in the same spot by the fountain and heard her name being called.
"Too ironic. Yes, what is it?" She said and turned around to find one her knights handing her a letter. "What is this? Who is it from?" Beatrix asked, very suprised. "I have no idea General Beatrix m'am. The person who gave me this letter made me swear not to tell," the knight said. "Good job. Thank you," Beatrix said, opening the letter. It read:
****To General Beatrix,
I wish to speak to you very soon
It's important, so please, don't be rude
We used to be on the same side
Until you found Queen Brahne had lied
I have small request to ask
Please come to the tower at a quarter past
The hour right now, if you wish to find
The one with whom you used to fight
Also I have one thing to say
Can I take you to the wedding party?
~Yours truly,
Anonymous****
