Chapter 1: The beginning
Hillary O’Conner blinked back tears. The light above her was bright, bright as the sun. She sat up and looked around. The circular room she was in was filled with books like a library. The book cases the books rested on were a dark wood and looked beautiful in the light. She brought her right foot then her left foot under her. She saw she was still wearing her blue jeans. She looked up and saw a window. She strolled toward it and saw her reflection. Her red hair usually up in a ponytail, lay about her shoulders over the dark blue jean material. Her white tee shirt was playing peek-a-boo with the jacket. She glanced down and saw she still wore her black, high heeled, leather boots that came up to mid-calf.
She stared passed her reflective image and saw green smog. She raised an eye brow. She didn’t know any place on the planet that would have green smog. There was one she could think, but that city was fictional. She pushed that thought out of the provable window. She didn’t want to finish that thought line. She didn’t want to get her hopes up. She turned around and strolled to the door. She paused in mid-stride. She thought she saw the knob on the door turn and heard voices. She did see it turn (and heard the voices) and rushed to the area beside the door where it would block her from view. She pressed against the bookcase. The door opened. She heard the voices, clearly now.
“Any news on the boy,” a fine muscular voice rang out.
“No,” another muscular voice replied back, “The Turks are claiming him to be stubborn.”
“I can’t believe he screamed like a little girl when he saw Sephiroth,” the first voice commented. She covered her mouth to keep from giggling. She imaged a teenage boy like her brother screaming like a girl because he saw the One Winged Angel.
“That was very amusing,” the second voice said before the duo fell silent. She breathed through her nose, trying to calm down. She peered around the door at the duo. One of the two men wore a red leather trench coat. He had auburn hair a few shades brighter then hers. The second man had black clothes on and had big sword strapped to his back. She knew who these two were immediately, Genesis Rhapsodos and Angeal Hewley from Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core. She had to escape and figure out what part of the timeline she was in. A phone rang. She saw Genesis answer his phone.
“Yes,” he paused, listening. “The boy finally talked…..that’s interesting…..we will be there shortly……alright.” He hanged up.
“So,” Angeal started. He turned around. She ducked backwards and hit her head against the wall. It echoed. “What was that?”
If she knew anything about the two men, she knew Genesis shot him a look. She also knew her luck wasn’t good, now. She heard them walking toward the door and her hiding place. She sighed. She grabbed the door knob, take a step – saw the duo’s surprised faces -, and swung around the door. She dart through the doorway and took a right, slamming the door behind her. She heard curses from the library like room and continued to run. She barely made it to the elevator when three things happen at once. One, the elevator doors opened to reveal the One Winged Angel himself with his long silver hair and the usual black leather clothes. Two, the door to the room she just left opened. Three, red lights and a siren filled the hallway.
She ran pass Sephiroth to the door beside the elevator that was labeled stairs.
“Stop her!” Angeal yelled. She pushed through the door and darted down the stairs. She heard the door slammed open behind her. She started to run faster and saw she only made it one floor down after the four fleets of stairs. She glanced over her shoulder and saw Sephiroth jump from the railing a landing above her. He landed almost right now top of her and she lend to the right, pushing off with her left foot aiming to go through the door. She pushed open the door and darted through it. She ran into a group of black suits escorting a young man, a few years younger than her. She knocked over a red head with goggled on his forehead and a bold black man.
“Hillary,” a familiar voice rang out. She allowed her eyes to land on the young man. He had dark, tanned skin, red hair, and glasses, but was taller than her. He wore the dark blue shirt that had a saying, a pair of blue jeans, and tennis shoes over his big feet. She knew who he was, immediately. It was her brother, Eli.
“Eli,” She replied same way, “Talk to ya, later, Baby brother!”
She heard footsteps running to keep up with her.
“Wait for me,” Eli yelled.
“Hurry up, slowpoke,” Hillary yelled back, “I had the damn trinity chasing me.”
“Trinity,” He asked, dumbly.
“Later,” She said, glancing over her shoulder, “We need to out those guys with swords…” Something scraped against her cheek. “GUNS!” She screamed. She saw the hallway was doubling back onto itself. She panted. The running was getting her now. She saw the Trinity standing in front of a pair of elevator that was slowly opening. “Eli.” She breathed.
“I see,” he replied. Hillary was glad she wore pants. A second later, she slid on her left thigh, under Sephiroth who jumped over her. Genesis and Angeal teamed up against Eli, but he jumped over their heads. Hillary gaped at her brother. He landed inches from the door. Hillary still gapped at him as the door tired to shut on Sephiroth’s hand. Eli glared at her. “You could have hit him.”
“Huh,” Hillary glanced at the Silver haired general. “Nope,” She put her hands, “I want to live to die of a really old age with my family around me.”
“Could have fooled me,” Eli muttered loud enough the trinity and his sister could hear him.
“Enough talking,” Genesis snapped. The siblings fell silent. Hillary watched Eli as he was handcuffed by the Turks who finally caught up. She felt Sephiroth handcuffed her hands together behind her back, roughly. She bit her tongue from making a comment about the roughness. She was really amused by what was happening.
Hillary was pushed to the back of the elevator and Sephiroth stood to her left side, Genesis between her brother and herself, Angeal beside Eli. The Turk, Hillary recognized as Tseng, stepped aboard the elevator before the doors closed. Silent fell. Hillary didn’t like it. Genesis brought out a book and started reading. Hillary’s eyes fall onto the book and started to read, silently.
“Bookwarm,” Eli said in an insulting way. Hillary felt Genesis stiffen beside her.
“Egoist,” Hillary shot back.
“What the hell does that mean, Nerd.”
“It means you have a big ego, Cry-Baby.”
“That’s old, can’t you make up a new one, Old Lady,” Eli said.
“I heard someone screamed like a little girl at the general, was it you, bed- humper,” Hillary said, her eyes didn’t leave the book, still in Genesis’s hand. When Eli didn’t reply, her eyes drift from the words on the book to his face. It was slightly pink. Hillary pressed her lips together. “So, you still scream like a little girl.”
Eli tried to defend himself, “I don’t scream like a little girl, butter-butt.”
“Obviously, you still do, chicken legs,” Hillary said. Genesis turned the page. Hillary pouted.
“At least I’m not like you, two-faced,” Eli said. Genesis and Sephiroth felt the woman stiffen and she turned from the book and glared at her younger brother.
“At least I try to treat our mother with some respect, shit-face,” Hillary growled.
“At least I try to treat our Step-mother with more respect you do, girl,” Eli shot back. Hillary were ready hit her younger brother. She felt her hair rise a little from her head, frizzing.
“You want to settle by first blood, boy,” Hillary challenged. The men in the elevator waited for the young man’s response.
“Explain why should I waste time on your sorry ass,” Eli said with the air of superiority. Hillary stepped around Genesis and tried to kick the red head boy in the face. Sephiroth and Genesis grabbed each of her arms and dragged her away, kicking.
“There is no hate, only joy, for you are beloved by the goddess,” Genesis said in a calming manner. Hillary just rolled her eyes.
“My soul, corrupted by vengeance, hath endured torment to find the end of the journey,” Hillary replied. She was forced to admit she was a little calmer to herself, not to anyone else, but she didn’t know much the poem named LOVELESS.
“My friend, your desire is the bringer of life, the gift of the goddess,” Genesis stared at her. Hillary glanced into his eyes.
“My friend, the fates are cruel…..” Hillary paused, “Shit, I forgot the rest of that quote.” Sephiroth and Angeal snorted in amusement.
“There are no dreams, no honor remains, the arrow had left the bow of the goddess,” Genesis finished for her.
“Yeah, that,” Hillary said.
“What the hell are you two saying,” Eli asked. At that, Genesis turned around to face Eli. He must have just opened his mouth when the elevator doors opened. Sephiroth grabbed Hillary’s upper arm and hurried out of the elevator followed by Angeal dragging Eli. Tseng brought up the rear, leaving Genesis in the elevator.
“Hey,” Hillary heard Genesis surprised cry. She giggled a bit. She heard him running slightly to catch up. The trinity and a lone Turk lead the sibling into an office. Hillary blinked in surprise to see they were at the Director Lazard’s office. Two chairs were already sitting empty in front of the desk. Two more Turks were standing off to the side, Reno and Rude.
Hillary was lead to one and Sephiroth un-cuffed. She sat down with her legs crossed, looking calm. Eli, on the other hand, dragged the chair away from Hillary and sat it by the Turks. Everyone looked at him with raised eyebrows.
“I don’t want to sit next to a two-face,” he explained. Hillary growled.
“I don’t want to sit next to a boy who wants to be an only child,” Hillary said, remembering the time Eli had joked about that. Eli winced. Hillary smirked. “After all, you are a daddy’s boy and a kiss-ass.”
“Useless, immature, good for nothing, rebellious witch,” Eli retorted.
~SOLDIER~
Genesis blinked in surprise as the two intruders continued to exchange words back and forth, some harsh and were getting harsher by the minute. He noticed the young woman, Hillary, start to move forward in her chair. He stepped forward and grabbed her right shoulder. She glanced up at him before appearing to relax back into the chair, but he felt the shoulder muscles stiffen. He got the feeling she would leap across the room if he let her go.
~SOLDIER~
Hillary felt the dull ache in her chest begin. It grew. Lazard cleared his throat. Hillary turned her gaze back onto the blond man. Then her chest seemed erupt in fire, the nerves running her ribs cut off her ability to take deep breaths. She had to fight the urge to grab her chest, the area over her heart. She knew she was not having a heart attack, just a bad panic attack. She tried to pay attention what was said, but in the end, she had to turn her attention to the panic attack. She took a deep breath.
“Miss,” Lazard said. Hillary looked up at him.
“Hm?” Hillary asked.
“What do you think?”
“About what?”
“Typically, not listening,” Eli muttered. Hillary shot him a glare. Lazard sighed. Genesis tightened his grip on Hillary’s shoulder. Sephiroth pushed from the wall. Angeal shifted a bit. Reno figured his EMR. Rude closed and opened his fists. Tseng’s eyes harden. Eli just glared at her. Hillary surprised them by turning her attention to Lazard.
“What do I think about what, sir?” Hillary asked, calmly like she was just asked about the weather.
“You have a choice, you either can join SOLDIER or the Turks,” Lazard said. Hillary didn’t have to think about it.
“I’ll join the opposite of what he –“She pointed at her brother, “joins.”
“I guess you’ll be a SOLDIER then,” Lazard said.
“It will be my pleasure,” Hillary purred, thinking of all the ways to reveal her stress by kicking men’s asses.
“General, Commander Hewley, Commander Rhapsodos, please escort Ms. Hillary down to the lab,” Lazard said. The Turks gathered around Eli. They left the room. Hillary stood up from her chair. She bit her lower lip. The pain in her chest came back. She had trouble breathing. She had to maintain her image of things not affecting her. Sephiroth walked in front of her. She raised her eyes to meet his, not showing any fear.
“Follow me,” He simply said. She nodded, shortly. He turned and walked through the doorway. She followed. She noticed that Genesis stepped by her on her right side and Angeal did the same for her left side. She mused, silently, if she fell, she just had to grab one of them. They reached the elevator. The Turks were waiting at the other one. The tense returned. Hillary ignored Eli and the Turks. The bell of the elevator reached their ears. The Turks and Eli moved into one.
“Hillary, don’t go fucking all of them so you can get a promotion,” Eli said. Hillary’s jaw dropped. Her eyes popped. She didn’t know how to respond to that other then “I’m gonna kill him.”
“Damn,” Genesis breathed, “Most siblings that I know of don’t insult each other like that.”
“I really got to talk to him about his honor,” Angeal said.
“Have fun with that,” Hillary said finally overcoming her shock, “I doubt it will help him.” The bell of the elevator that the SOLDIERs were waiting echoed. The doors opened. The four of them walked in. Sephiroth punched a button and Hillary lend against the wall opposite of the silver haired general. Silence fell in the elevator. Hillary glanced over at the trinity. They seemed to be deep in thought. She allowed herself to rub the area over her heart. Pain erupted, worst this time. She gasped and squeezed her eyes shut. She fell to her knees and tried to keep her attention on breathing, deep and steady breaths.
“Hey, are you alright,” She heard Angeal ask. She nodded. She forced herself to stand up. She felt her chest tighten, her vision became tunnel like, and pain center in her chest before she passed out.
~SOLDIER~
Angeal blinked as Hillary stood up after she nodded. She didn’t look so good in his opinion and he glanced at Genesis and Sephiroth. It seemed they thought so, too. He turned back to Hillary. He saw her eyes slid shut and her knees buckle from under her. Angeal caught her before she hit the floor. Hillary’s breathing was short and fast like she just ran a race. He pressed two fingers to her neck, checking for her pulse. There was one and it was rapid. The elevator bell rang out. He scooped his left arm under Hillary’s legs and picked her up. The doors opened and Angeal walked out followed by Sephiroth and Genesis. Sephiroth moved forward and opened the lab doors with a bang, catching Hojo’s attention.
“What, boy,” Hojo said, harshly.
“SOLDIER has a new cadet,” Sephiroth said, moving aside. Angeal strolled over to a lab table and placed Hillary. “She passed out on the way here.”
Angeal stepped back and watched the lab aids immediately prepared the new female SOLDIER for injections and a check up. One of the lab aids placed heart monitors on Hillary and the heart monitor picked up how fast the young woman’s heart was beating. Angeal glanced at Hojo. The scientist went wide eyed and started shouting orders. Then the heart monitors flat lined and stayed that way. Angeal glanced over at Sephiroth and Genesis. They looked as shocked as he felt. The heart monitors started to beep, slow and regular.
“Did she just have a heart attack?”
~SOLDIER~
Eli crossed his arms over his chest and bent his head. Hillary wasn’t expecting that comment before the doors closed. He could tell her superiors didn’t either. He looked up at his co-workers. Reno stood beside him.
“Geeze, I guess you really hate your sister,” he said.
“She’s immature,” Eli commented dryly, “and a two-faced wrench.”
“You think that’s a little harsh,” Reno scratched the back of his neck.
“Not after how she treated my stepmom,” Eli said, “Hillary-“ He spat the name of his sister, “treated the woman who cared, clothed, and feed us for 6 years horribly. My stepmom corrected how my mother raised us, but the girl I’m forced to say a blood relative basically threw it back in her face, several times.”
“Have you got Miss. Hillary’s side of the story,” Tseng eyed Eli.
Eli shook his head. “I was there, and my stepmom has been always correct when it came to that two-faced woman.”
Reno sighed. “You know, you’ll have to lose that attitude about your sister. She’s all you have right now, and whose knows how long you’ll have together, yo.” Eli noticed Tseng staring at Reno. The older red head noticed also a second later. “What? I can’t give good advice once in a while, yo.”
“You strike me as one not to give good advice, Reno,” Eli commented.
“Hey,” Reno started to protest when Tseng’s phone rang. The second in command answered it and listened then he blinked in surprise.
“Eli’s sister had a heart attack,” Tseng said, his eyes shooting to Eli’s face. Eli shrugged and muttered something close to faking it to get attention. Reno stared in disbelief at Eli. “She recovered from it?...Hmm. Yes, sir.” He shut the phone.
Eli became lost in his thoughts. Hillary was his older sister, sure she acted she might not cared if he lived or died, but….memories rose to the surface of his mind. Hillary was headstrong, something their stepmom didn’t like, and on top of that, she was not afraid to challenge authority, another thing that their stepmom raged over. It resulted in many fights. Hillary also took the blame for some of the things that he did and didn’t tell on him. She shrugged and just said, “Don’t get caught.”
The bell of the elevator tolled and Eli snapped of out his musings. He glanced at Tseng and Reno as they exited the elevator. He followed.
~SOLDIER~
“Eli, because your sister is part of SOLDIER, you will be living with her and her housemates,” Veld, the head of the Turks, commented once Eli was introduced to him and the program.
“Hell no,” Eli started to protest. Veld cut him off.
“You don’t have a choice in the matter,” he said, “Commander Hewley is here to escort you to your new living arrangements.”
Eli glared at the older man. He turned around and stormed away. He saw Commander Hewley in the hallway. The SOLDIER was accompanied by another younger man, closer to Eli’s age.
“So, I’m supposed to be living my sister,” He spat the word sister. The younger man blinked at him. Commander Hewley sighed.
“And General Sephiroth, Commander Rhapsodos, Zack, and myself,” Commander said.
“He’s living with us,” the younger man almost bounced up and down on his feet. Eli stared at him. The younger man dressed similar to Commander Hewley except instead of black, he wore purple. Eli blinked. The younger man held out his hand, “I’m Zack. How’s it having a sister? I’m an only child myself. I would love to have a sibling.” He said.
Eli opened his mouth, “I’m Eli, I hate having a sister, and purple is a girl color.”
Zack stared him. Commander Hewley sighed again. “Follow me, both of you,” he said. He turned around and walked away from the Turks. “Eli, Zack,” Commander Hewley started to say, “You have protected your honor……”
~~~~~~~
I know I shouldn’t be putting up another story, but I have had this plot floating around in my head for a bit and I haven’t decided on a pairing yet. So, it will be up for a vote. I know who Angeal will put with. The lucky woman will come in later. So, who will Hillary fall in love with? Vote, please.
Sephiroth/Hillary
Genesis/ Hillary
Sephiroth/Hillary/Genesis – Yes, they would have to share Ms. Hillary
Also, a few questions I hope you answer.
Do I have the FF7 Characters in Character?
Do you have any suggestions for this story?
Is it predictable like you can tell the next chapter, right off, without even reading it?
Is Eli or Hillary a Mary Sue, yet? (Trying to avoid that)
Do you see anything that needs to be corrected?
Once again, I will update this next month on April 17th. Hope to hear your thought about this story, soon.
DISCLAIMER: I don’t own any FF7, but I do own Eli and Hillary O’Conner. Please enjoy.
She noticed that Genesis stepped by her on her right side and Angeal did the same for her left side. She mused, silently, if she fell, she just had to grab one of them. They reached the elevator. The Turks were waiting at the other one. The tense returned. Hillary ignored Eli and the Turks. The bell of the elevator reached their ears. The Turks and Eli moved into one.
“Hillary, don’t go fucking all of them so you can get a promotion,” Eli said. Hillary’s jaw dropped. Her eyes popped. She didn’t know how to respond to that other then “I’m gonna kill him.”
“Damn,” Genesis breathed, “Most siblings that I know of don’t insult each other like that.”
“I really got to talk to him about his honor,” Angeal said.
“Have fun with that,” Hillary said finally overcoming her shock, “I doubt it will help him.” The bell of the elevator that the SOLDIERs were waiting echoed. The doors opened. The four of them walked in. Sephiroth punched a button and Hillary lend against the wall opposite of the silver haired general. Silence fell in the elevator. Hillary glanced over at the trinity. They seemed to be deep in thought. She allowed herself to rub the area over her heart. Pain erupted, worst this time. She gasped and squeezed her eyes shut. She fell to her knees and tried to keep her attention on breathing, deep and steady breaths.
“Hey, are you alright,” She heard Angeal ask. She nodded. She forced herself to stand up. She felt her chest tighten, her vision became tunnel like, and pain center in her chest before she passed out.
~SOLDIER~
Angeal blinked as Hillary stood up after she nodded. She didn’t look so good in his opinion and he glanced at Genesis and Sephiroth. It seemed they thought so, too. He turned back to Hillary. He saw her eyes slid shut and her knees buckle from under her. Angeal caught her before she hit the floor. Hillary’s breathing was short and fast like she just ran a race. He pressed two fingers to her neck, checking for her pulse. There was one and it was rapid. The elevator bell rang out. He scooped his left arm under Hillary’s legs and picked her up. The doors opened and Angeal walked out followed by Sephiroth and Genesis. Sephiroth moved forward and opened the lab doors with a bang, catching Hojo’s attention.
“What, boy,” Hojo said, harshly.
“SOLDIER has a new cadet,” Sephiroth said, moving aside. Angeal strolled over to a lab table and placed Hillary. “She passed out on the way here.”
Angeal stepped back and watched the lab aids immediately prepared the new female SOLDIER for injections and a check up. One of the lab aids placed heart monitors on Hillary and the heart monitor picked up how fast the young woman’s heart was beating. Angeal glanced at Hojo. The scientist went wide eyed and started shouting orders. Then the heart monitors flat lined and stayed that way. Angeal glanced over at Sephiroth and Genesis. They looked as shocked as he felt. The heart monitors started to beep, slow and regular.
“Did she just have a heart attack?”
~SOLDIER~
Eli crossed his arms over his chest and bent his head. Hillary wasn’t expecting that comment before the doors closed. He could tell her superiors didn’t either. He looked up at his co-workers. Reno stood beside him.
“Geeze, I guess you really hate your sister,” he said.
“She’s immature,” Eli commented dryly, “and a two-faced wrench.”
“You think that’s a little harsh,” Reno scratched the back of his neck.
“Not after how she treated my stepmom,” Eli said, “Hillary-“ He spat the name of his sister, “treated the woman who cared, clothed, and feed us for 6 years horribly. My stepmom corrected how my mother raised us, but the girl I’m forced to say a blood relative basically threw it back in her face, several times.”
“Have you got Miss. Hillary’s side of the story,” Tseng eyed Eli.
Eli shook his head. “I was there, and my stepmom has been always correct when it came to that two-faced woman.”
Reno sighed. “You know, you’ll have to lose that attitude about your sister. She’s all you have right now, and whose knows how long you’ll have together, yo.” Eli noticed Tseng staring at Reno. The older red head noticed also a second later. “What? I can’t give good advice once in a while, yo.”
“You strike me as one not to give good advice, Reno,” Eli commented.
“Hey,” Reno started to protest when Tseng’s phone rang. The second in command answered it and listened then he blinked in surprise.
“Eli’s sister had a heart attack,” Tseng said, his eyes shooting to Eli’s face. Eli shrugged and muttered something close to faking it to get attention. Reno stared in disbelief at Eli. “She recovered from it?...Hmm. Yes, sir.” He shut the phone.
Eli became lost in his thoughts. Hillary was his older sister, sure she acted she might not cared if he lived or died, but….memories rose to the surface of his mind. Hillary was headstrong, something their stepmom didn’t like, and on top of that, she was not afraid to challenge authority, another thing that their stepmom raged over. It resulted in many fights. Hillary also took the blame for some of the things that he did and didn’t tell on him. She shrugged and just said, “Don’t get caught.”
The bell of the elevator tolled and Eli snapped of out his musings. He glanced at Tseng and Reno as they exited the elevator. He followed.
~SOLDIER~
“Eli, because your sister is part of SOLDIER, you will be living with her and her housemates,” Veld, the head of the Turks, commented once Eli was introduced to him and the program.
“Hell no,” Eli started to protest. Veld cut him off.
“You don’t have a choice in the matter,” he said, “Commander Hewley is here to escort you to your new living arrangements.”
Eli glared at the older man. He turned around and stormed away. He saw Commander Hewley in the hallway. The SOLDIER was accompanied by another younger man, closer to Eli’s age.
“So, I’m supposed to be living my sister,” He spat the word sister. The younger man blinked at him. Commander Hewley sighed.
“And General Sephiroth, Commander Rhapsodos, Zack, and myself,” Commander said.
“He’s living with us,” the younger man almost bounced up and down on his feet. Eli stared at him. The younger man dressed similar to Commander Hewley except instead of black, he wore purple. Eli blinked. The younger man held out his hand, “I’m Zack. How’s it having a sister? I’m an only child myself. I would love to have a sibling.” He said.
Eli opened his mouth, “I’m Eli, I hate having a sister, and purple is a girl color.”
Zack stared him. Commander Hewley sighed again. “Follow me, both of you,” he said. He turned around and walked away from the Turks. “Eli, Zack,” Commander Hewley started to say, “You have protected your honor……”
~~~~~~~
I know I shouldn’t be putting up another story, but I have had this plot floating around in my head for a bit and I haven’t decided on a pairing yet. So, it will be up for a vote. I know who Angeal will put with. The lucky woman will come in later. So, who will Hillary fall in love with? Vote, please.
Sephiroth/Hillary
Genesis/ Hillary
Sephiroth/Hillary/Genesis – Yes, they would have to share Ms. Hillary
Also, a few questions I hope you answer.
Do I have the FF7 Characters in Character?
Do you have any suggestions for this story?
Is it predictable like you can tell the next chapter, right off, without even reading it?
Is Eli or Hillary a Mary Sue, yet? (Trying to avoid that)
Do you see anything that needs to be corrected?
Once again, I will update this next month on April 17th. Hope to hear your thought about this story, soon.
