Immortality
By. DemonGirl-Setsuna
-------------------------------------------------------------
DemonGirl-Setsuna: Hi there! Setsuna here!
*Deep in a dark forest, Setsuna walks through the trees wearing hiking-boots, black jeans and a black shirt under a denim-jacket, with her hair pulled up in a pony-tail and Cerberus in it's holster on her hip *
My muses are no help in trying to rescue my Vincent plusie from Ritalin_writer…
Also, there is no telling what she is doing to him as we speak…
*A twig snaps behind her, causing her to spin around while pulling her Cerberus out of it's hostler and aim it at the whoever/whatever is behind her*
She finds Vincent (No longer plusiefide *I claim copyright on this word* or an annoyingly cute chibi) standing there aiming his Cerberus at her head as she aims her's at his*
(mono-toned) Vincent… I see Ritalin reversed my spell on you…
Vincent: She even un-chibifide me too…
(I don't think I can claim copyright on `chibifide', I think someone else has said it before, but if they haven't… I claim ownership!)
Setsuna: (Almost Purring) Now, I can see why girls become fan-girls… *Licks Lips* You're quite sexy…
(>.< Yes, I am flirting with him…)
Vincent: …
Setsuna: *Winks* Hmmm…?
Vincent: *It is hard to tell with the cloak, but he is slightly blushing*
*The sound of a gun cocking*
Setsuna: *Closes eyes* Hello Ritalin, how have you been?
Ritalin_writer: *Holding the Death Penalty to the back of Setsuna's head* He's my bishie, talk again and I pull this trigger *looks to Vince* Sorry if I get her brains all over ya pal.
Setsuna: Are you sure that is a wise thing to do, with my Cerberus aimed at his head; I mean, if I was to be shot who's to say that my finger wouldn't accidentally squeeze the trigger and kill Vincent in the process…
Ritalin_writer: *'.'* So… Dude! He's VINCENT! A single shot to the head isn't going to kill him, if someone can stick a fist through his chest and crap.
Setsuna: *Cocking the Cerberus* Care to test that theory, wolf-girl?
*A gun-shot goes off *
Ninka (In one of those random pop-up commentary bubbles): We apologize for the interruption of this Author's Note, but we need to start this story!
Youka (In another bubble): Here is Chapter 11!
Ninka and Youka: Please Enjoy!

Ch. 11
An Angel Dies
----------------------------------
Vincent storms up the stairs, veering to the right when he reaches the top and slams open the first door on the right; entering the connecting-room of the master bedroom, he continues his brisk-walk through the room into the master bedroom, stopping only to flick the switch hidden on the floor underneath a chair to open the secret-door into the basement; Hojo's hidden lab, before continuing on his way to threaten the professor.
He quickly descends the winding-staircase into the dank basement; being careful as to not loss his footing and fall to the ground three-stories below.
He continues past the Crypt, containing several coffins; which resided to the right of him, and he passes through a door leading into a winding-hallway, hastily making his way to the end of the hall; passing the corridor containing an elevator to the lower-levels and the sewer-system, and opens the door leading into a small room with two other doors, one made of wood straight ahead of him leading to the library and the other door was made of metal and lead to another corridor; which was locked from the other side.
He walks straight to the door leading into the library and takes the archway on his right, into Hojo's lab, which contained an operation-table littered with papers, test-tubes, beakers, a lone lamp and a benison-burner, and around the edges of the room were a few book-cases and large tubes full of green translucent liquid; mako.
(A/N: It actually takes this long to get from the Music-room to Hojo's lab in the basement! And, I'm remembering the layout from memory!)
Vincent spots the crazed doctor hunched over a book on the table; appearing to be reading it, he grabs the doctor by the shoulder and throws him against the wall to the left of them; knocking Hojo's stool over in the process.
“You asshole! How could you?”, Vincent fumed.
“How could I, what?”, Hojo mocked, turning himself around to face Vincent with a smug grin on his thin face, that only made Vincent's rage elevate.
“Lucrecia… How could you do that to her!”, he growls, quickly closing the distance between himself and Hojo, “Talk! Why did you let this happen!?”
“Silence”, Hojo demands, pulling his hand from inside of his lab-coat, a glint of silver catching Vincent's attention.
“You!”, he angrily growls, recognizing what Hojo was holding in his hand; Vincent's polished silver gun, he takes a step towards the armed mad-man.
“Silence!”, the mad-scientist orders, squeezing the trigger.
A gun-shot rang out though the lab, Vincent could only gasp out in pain as the bullet tore through the left-side of his lower-chest and he quickly discovered that he was having a very hard time breathing.
`I was shot…with my own gun…', he thinks, as a stream of blood began to trickle from his mouth and he fell forward onto the floor, now only able to stare at Hojo's shoes.
“Why…why can't these people just keep quiet?”, he heard Hojo mutter to himself, as his vision began to turn red, darkness crept in slowly along the edges, and a large puddle of blood formed underneath him.
Vincent could hear his breathing getting shallower and shallower with every breath he took, and he felt his heartbeats getting weaker with every beat.
“Yes, I can use Vincent's body for my next experiment”, Hojo says to himself, then breaks out into a maniacal laugh, “A genius! That's what I am, yes! My success here will justify all pervious failures”.
But Vincent's hearing was starting to fail him and all he heard was, “I can... body... next experiment... a genius... I am... success here... justify... failures...”
(A/N: I actually sat and watched the cinema-clip from “Dirge of Cerberus” to find out `every' word Hojo had said!)
-------------------------
Lucrecia hobbled down the winding-stairs; holding her abdomen, towards Hojo's lab, in hopes of stopping Vincent. But when she reached the library, she heard a gun-shot ring out.
“Oh no…”, she gasps, entering the lab.
Lucrecia finds Hojo standing over Vincent's body, still holding Vincent's gun in his hand and laughing maniacally.
“Hojo. What have you...?”, she questions.
Hojo just continues to laugh maniacally.
“Lu…cre…cia…”, Vincent forces out from his lips, trying to move his head to see her, only to fall limp on the floor, his chest no longer moving; all breathing ceased in his body.
Lucrecia covers her mouth and gasps in horror; at the fact that Hojo had shot and killed Vincent, that Vincent had used his last breath to call out for her, and that Vincent had died protecting her.
-------------------------
Meanwhile…
In the Market-Place…
Dietrich stood by a vendor's stand trying to bargain a lower price for the watermelon she was trying to purchase.
“30 gil should be enough”, she argues.
“50 gil…”, the vendor stubbornly says.
“But this watermelon is bruised…”, she states, holding up the melon and shows the soft-ball sized bruise to the vendor, “See?”
“That is because you put bruise there”.
“I didn't put it there!”, she yells, slamming the melon on the stand in her anger, causing the watermelon to break open.
“Ah, you are a violent one, aren't you?”
“I'm so sorry…”, she says, crouching down to pick up the pieces of broken melon.
“Huh…?”, she gasps, when she saw a bright red feather; far too large to have come from one of the local-variety birds or a Chocobo, laying on the ground and the blood-red watermelon juice was soaking into the feather.
An omen that an Angel had fallen and died.

DemonGirl-Setsuna: Well? What did you think? Please review!
Yep, Vincent died…
Shot by his own gun…
I'm just so evil…
But then again, he did die at this point in time anyway.
So I'm not that evil, just following the natural course of time.
