DemonGirl-Setsuna: Hi there! Setsuna here!

The hunt for `Ed' is not going so well…

The mischievous muse has eluded me…

At least Vincent isn't giving me any trouble, like I thought he would. After all, I had turned him into a plushie…

Vincent: *Walks in, smiling while munching on a double-chocolate chip cookie*

*Ritalin comes out of nowhere and gives Vincent a wedgie, causing Vincent to scream in pain and start crying*

Setsuna: Unfortunately… Ritalin has been nothing but a terror… *Picks Vincent up and tries to comfort him* There, there…

Ritalin: *Trying to sneak away without being noticed*

Setsuna: Ritalin!

Ritalin: *Stops and does an anime-style flinch, knowing she was caught* I didn't do anything wrong… *Turns around with an innocent puppy-dog face on*

Setsuna: *Eyebrow starts twitching* Ritalin…

Ritalin: *Gulps*

Setsuna: *Still holding a sobbing Vincent* I want you to apologize to Vincent.

Ritalin: *Trying to look cute* I'm sorry…

Vincent: (Sniffles) You're forgiven…

Ritalin: *Evil-glint in eye* Physic! *Leaps up and smacks Vincent in the head, making him start crying again*

Setsuna: Ritalin!

Ritalin: *Makes a speedy getaway* Can't catch me with you carrying the crybaby, dog-breath!

Setsuna: *Sighs, knowing it was true she couldn't catch Ritalin with her holding Vincent* (Whispers) When I catch her… It is time-out and no more sugar for her… *Pats Vincent on the back gently, trying to calm him down* There, there Vincent… Let's get some ice-cream…

*Vincent just sniffles*

Broken Hearts and Wings

----------------------------------------

Lucrecia returns some time later, with one of Vincent's uniforms and gauze bandages.

She carefully wraps his chest in the bandages to stop the fluid from oozing out of the gun-shot wound, then she gently puts his uniform on; restoring his dignity, straightening the collar and tie the way he liked it.

“There…”, she sighs, brushing a stray clump of hair back into place and inserts another syringe full of more `G Substance' into his neck; injecting it into his blood-stream, causing his body to once again become bathed in a blood-red aura.

`But how am I going to get him into my lab?', she wonders, as she walks from the room and back upstairs to her room, to hide the fact that she had been down there when Hojo came up to inject the weekly dosage of Jenova cells.

After Hojo had injected the cells, he had to go into town to do the shopping; considering Vincent couldn't as he was still incapacitated, Dietrich was currently Hojo's guinea-pig hidden somewhere in the hell-hole he called a lab, and Lucrecia was pregnant.

Hojo must have really pissed off someone in a past-life or this life.

Lucrecia watches Hojo vanish through the mansion-gate from her vantage-point at the window.

“He should be gone for at least two hours…”, she whispers, letting the curtain fall back into place.

Meanwhile…
In the Basement…

Vincent lays on the operating-table, his breathing a little shaky as he slowly blinks open his reddish-brown eyes, and stares at the ceiling; finding his vision a little hazy.

He slowly sits up, feeling light-headed as he does, then he twists his body to put his feet onto the stone-floor; leaning his hands onto the operation-table to maintain his balance, before he steps backwards away from the table, his legs a little wobbly underneath him and a dull pain travels through his legs; as if they had fallen-asleep and just woken up.

Then he remembered that Hojo had shot him; with his own gun, and he felt rage begin to rise up through his body.

His vision starts to blur when the blood rushed from his head when he had stood up a little too quickly, he puts a hand to his head just before his vision turned black, and he didn't even recall if he had fallen to the floor.

When Vincent's still hazy vision returned to him, he finds himself standing inside Hojo's lab.

He looks around the lab confused, unsure how he got from the operating-room into Hojo's lab and he could have swore he had fallen onto the floor when he blacked-out.

But something felt wrong; there was something wrong with his body.

Vincent looks down at his hands, they were covered in thin glossy black fur and each finger was tipped with lethal-claws. He glances from one hand to the other, panic overtaking his mind, before he realizes that this really was his body and he lets out a nonhuman, blood-curdling scream.

He just closes his eyes and blindly sweeps his left-arm across the top of the table in front of himself; smashing the various test-tubes and beakers that sat atop the table, feeling random pieces of shattered-glass piercing his flesh.

When he reopens his eyes again, he finds himself looking at his normal-arm with shards of broken-glass imbedded in his arm, he could only stare at it in amazement as the blood just flowed from the wounds, before he pulled one of the shards out.

Only to watch in puzzled-horror as the injury simply healed in front of his eyes; leaving no trace of the wound behind, he pulls out the rest of the glass and receives the same result.

He just collapses to his knees and starts sobbing into his hands, before he lets himself fall to the floor and curl-up into a fetal-position.

`No…No! I've become a monster!', he screams in his head, his body shaking in terror as he let himself slip into a catatonic-state; that border-lined consciousness and sleep.

A Few Minutes Later…

Lucrecia enters the operating-room, to find Vincent gone.

“Oh no… don't tell me Hojo got rid of him…”, she worriedly whispers.

Then she hears the sound of glass breaking and sobbing coming from Hojo's lab, and when she entered the lab, she finds Vincent curled-up in the fetal-position with his body trembling in fear and his eyes were glazed over; not seeing the room or anything at all.

“Vincent…”, she says, lightly touching him on the shoulder.

His only response was to curl-up into a tighter ball; shying away from her touch, and whimper like a frightened puppy.

She cradles his head to chest, which was awkward with her being 7-months pregnant.

“Shh… It's okay Vincent…”, she whispers, “I'm here…

Vincent continues to whimper and tries to get away.

Lucrecia could see the terror in his glazed eyes, tears started to build in her eyes, “Vincent…”, she whispers, holding him closer, “I'm so sorry…”, she adds, letting her tears fall.

A tear-drop falls onto Vincent's cheek, making him stop his struggling and look up at her.

He could feel the calming-aura that surrounded her, and his adrenalin-rush died down, making his eye-lids become heavy as he slowly drifted-off to sleep with his head resting on her bloated belly.

She looks down at him when she realizes that he stopped struggling, what she saw was so precious that she didn't want the moment to end.

Pale peach skin with slightly-parted pale pink lips, eyes closed in peaceful-bliss, and mid-night onyx hair framing his face with not a hair out of place; the perfect image of a sleeping angel, but the once full red wings that would have been on his back were now broken; forever to never return to their former glory.

“Oh, Vincent…”, she whispers to the sleeping-form.

-------------------------

An Hour Later…

It had been a slow and torturous process, but Lucrecia managed to get Vincent to walk; while leaning against her, out of Hojo's lab, through the library, down the corridors, up the winding-staircase, through the hallways, and into a regenerative-tube in her lab.

When they had reached her lab, Vincent was barely breathing; the liquid Lucrecia had given him was wearing off, and he would need another dose.

“This may hurt…”, she warns, holding the syringe in her hand.

Vincent; too dazed to say anything, could only nod in reply.

He lightly hisses in pain as the needle was inserted into his neck, and it's contents was pushed into his body, making him light-headed and he passes out again.

Lucrecia couldn't do much, except start the process of filling the tube up with liquid-oxygen to help him breath and recover from his ordeal.

What she didn't know would be how long his recovery would take and how long he would sleep for.

DemonGirl-Setsuna: Well? What did you think? Please review!

I do realize that these Chapters are fillers or something of that nature, but they are necessary for the story-line, since no one really explained the physical, emotional, and mental torment Vincent had gone through during and after Hojo's experimentation on him, and what else he went through during and after Lucrecia's attempts to revive him.

So I'm filling the Void in the story and my understanding of it!
