Chapter 2: Erin's Dilemma

Leo walked down the familiar halls to his first class. He looked on his time table. Science, Room 105. He felt a queasy feeling in his stomach, he hated Science.

"LEO, WAIT!!" The voice of Erin yelled behind him. Leo turned around and saw his friend running towards him with her black hair flowing behind her. She pushed between people and thread through others. Soon she caught up with her friend.

"Hi Erin." Leo said automatically as he continued down the hall. "What do you have right now?"

"Science…" Erin answered, a bit depressed.

"So do I!" Leo replied. Erin rolled her eyes.

"I better not have all the same classes as you AGAIN!" She sighed. Leo rubbed his head and laughed nervously. Soon, they arrived in front of the science room. "I wonder who else is in it with us…" She wondered, as she left Leo outside. She scanned the classroom.

"Hey Leo-" Someone behind Leo said. He turned around to see April.

Uh-oh…ok man, don't screw up. He looked into April's eyes and gulped. "H-hey, April. How's it going?"

"Pretty good. Get outta my way!" She said, pushing through him. Leo sighed and went off into la-la land.

"EARTH TO LEO, COME IN LEO!!" Aiko suddenly screamed in his ear. He just sighed happily. Aiko then yanked on his tail and he jumped in the air 5 feet and screamed at the top of his lungs. Aiko rolled on the ground laughing.

"AIKO!! STOP IT!!" Leo threatened. Aiko started purring and ran down the hall, this time on all fours. Leo shook his fist and cursed something in a foreign language. He then walked into the classroom and plopped his binder beside Erin. "Man, who needs Science anyways?" Erin shrugged. Leo looked over her shoulder and saw her drawing something freely as she had a bored look on her face. Leo sat down beside her and started drawing things on his desk. He did it all the time when he first came into a new classroom, it was like marking his territory.

"Draco!" One girl in the classroom suddenly screamed.

"Hi Draco!" Another girl said.

"Sit with me, Draco!"

"How was your summer, Draco?" Another girl asked. Leo looked over his shoulder to see a guy his age with blond hair walking down the aisle. He had blue eyes and wore more formal clothes than Leo. He passed each girl that wanted him to sit with them, and they each looked down a bit sad and disappointed. Leo didn't really care and immediately continued vandalizing on the desk.

"Hey, move it." Draco suddenly said, stopping at Leo's desk. Leo ignored him and had his tongue sticking out of the side of his mouth. He got really into whatever he was drawing. Draco cleared his throat.

"WHAT?!" Leo asked, looking up at Draco.

"I said, move out, as in get out of the seat…" Draco replied. He kind of had a bit of an English accent in his voice. "I only sit with the prettiest girls in class…" He said, referring to Erin. Her head immediately perked up. Her cheeks turned a bit red as her eyes went wide.

"Listen, pretty boy…" Leo started, standing up. He immediately noticed that Draco was taller then him. "Umm…uhh."

"Class! Sit down." The teacher interrupted as he walked in. Leo plopped onto his seat beside Erin and gave Draco a huge grin. He growled and took a seat beside one of the many 'popular' girls. Leo turned to Erin and grinned. She didn't make eye contact with him, and lowered her head to her drawing. Leo just sighed and sat back in his chair, resting his feet on his desk.

"Hello class." The teacher started. "My name's Mr. LaFlower.. I'll be your science teacher." He introduced. He had huge, thick glasses, and brown hair combed perfectly to the side. He wore a button shirt and black pants.

"Perfect spit-ball material!" Erin whispered to Leo, who started giggling. "Well, I guess it's another year of…Science."

Eventually, it was lunchtime. Leo met up with his friends in the cafeteria. They were all sitting at a table eating their food and yapping when someone came skateboarding down the railing. Leo immediately noticed it was April. He didn't try hiding he liked her. He only did that the first morning of the first day of school since grade four.

"Yup, watch a pro." He said, getting up from the table and walking towards her. She was holding her skateboard now and in the line up. Leo walked over to her.

"Hey baby." He said, putting his arm around her. She rolled her eyes and slipped out of his arm.

"Hi Leo…" She sighed.

"What are you up to?" He asked her, following her down the line. She grabbed most of her food.

"Well, I'm planning on eating." She answered. Leo laughed. She then left the salad bar and headed towards a table.

"So what are you doin' tonight?" He asked. She sat down with her three best friends: Evin, Jesse, and Matt.

"I dunno yet, see ya Leo." She replied, then she picked up on the conversation between her friends and joined in. Leo walked back to his table with his friends.

"So whadd'ya give me this time?" Leo asked Orion as he sat beside him.

"6.5 totally!!" Orion answered.

"Wow, I raised!" Leo responded. "Yeah, I'm sure it was a hint that she wanted to do something with me when she said 'I dunno yet.'." He said. Orion nodded his head in agreement. Juliet smacked her face.

"It was more of a hint that she wanted you to get lost!" She replied. Aiko and Erin nodded in agreement. Leo shrugged.

"Well you can't blame me for trying." He stated. The three girls just sighed as they all continued eating. "So Erin, did you tell everyone about Science this morning??" Leo asked, with an evil grin on his face. Erin's face turned red as she poked at her food.

"Ahh…huh? What are you talkin' about? The spitballs?" Erin asked, trying to play dumb.

"You know what I'm talking about!!" Leo stated.

"Erin! What happened?" Aiko asked, as her and Juliet turned to her.

"Well…umm…err.." Erin started. She didn't know what to say and she gave Leo a dirty look.

"Ask her about Draco." Leo replied. Aiko and Juliet's eyes immediately grew.

"Draco Felton?!" Juliet squealed. Erin was silent. Juliet and Aiko eagerly looked at Leo who closed his eyes and nodded proudly. "ERIN, WHAT HAPPENED?!" Juliet asked. Erin turned even more red.

"I-uh..gotta go to the washroom!" Erin squeaked as she got out of her seat and ran up the stairs. Leo started laughing.

"Leo! What happened??" Juliet and Aiko asked at the same time.

"Oh not much, he just called Erin the hottest girl in the class…" Leo responded. Aiko thought for a minute.

"Hmm… Who knew Draco Felton would like the…lesser popular kind of girl?" She asked, not expecting an answer.

"Who knows how they think?" Juliet replied, looking at the table where all the popular kids sat. Aiko shrugged. Then, there was silence.

"So what does everyone have next?" Orion asked.

"P.E." Leo answered.

"Same." Juliet answered.

"Me too." Aiko replied.

"Wow, so do I!" Orion stated. "Nice!" He and Leo slapped each other's hand. They haven't been in the same class all day. They didn't know if that was irony, or if the teachers did that purposely. "I wonder if Erin has it too…"

"Yup she does." Leo answered, biting into his sandwich. "We have all the same classes again this year. We looked at our time tables together in Science." He said matter-of-factly. Once everyone was done their lunch, they sat and talked. Erin never came back, and eventually the bell rang. They all went to P.E together.
