"What are you doing here? You can't-"
"What was the deal? Are you backing out on the deal?" The teen threatened.
"N-no, Rui. I just can't let you in. I'll get in trouble. They just installed a video camera in here...I-"
"You let me in and no one will find out about it and the deal will be carried out, unless you liked everything that we did to you. You think that what we did before was bad, just imagine what it would be like to those who back out on a deal." Rui stared at the fright in the hazel eyes in front of him.
"Okay! Go in. Just leave me alone." The boy gave in and stepped aside to let the brunet through.
"Good choice. It shouldn't take me any more than ten minutes to get what I want and fix the lovely camera in this room. Don't be so worried, Nakuto. Take watch." Rui smiled and walked in, looking at the setup of the video camera's monitors and such.
'Hmph. This is too easy.'

Preparations
Selphie was working like the world was going to end. She barely had anytime to rest as the festival was only one day away.
"Omigod! The Festival is tomorrow and you guys don't have the stage set up?" She yelled in frustration. The short brunette grabbed two member's hands and brought them up on the stage. She eyed the disorder and turned to the microphone.
"Hello?" She said, wondering if it worked. Nothing happened. "Taki! Justin!" Two students, who were working at the control board, glanced up to see the Garden Festival's president with a very irritated glare on her face.
"Yeah, Selphie?" Justin spoke and Selphie quickly asked if the mic was working. "Oh, sure. This would be a great time for you to test it."
Taki flipped a few switches and Justin adjusted a few nobs.
"Ok, Selphie! The mic should be on."
The girl turned around and stared out to all the people who were working on the decorations and last minute repairs.
"Everyone, listen up!" The whole quad was silent as the students took attention to their president on stage.
"We-" The mic decided to screech and everyone flinched at the annoying, high-pitched sound. Selphie turned a glare to the two students at the control board.
"Sorry, Selphie. Try again." And she did.
"We've been working long and hard for this festival to be a success and the biggest one yet. As you know about the invitation of students' parents to attend and the extension that was granted to us for more space, we should be able to hold almost everyone in here for the main event, but judging the capacity of this room and the amount of people that will be here, it would become very cramped. So I spoke to the headmaster yesterday and he agreed with me on that subject. It has been decided that the main event will be shown all over garden!" There were whispers and murmurs amongst the committee and Selphie had a wonderful smile, feeling that this festival was already a victory and with all her extra effort, everything planned was going to go smoothly.
"Despite that we are a little behind schedule, we can do it!" Selphie was never one to lose hope and winked at the crowd. "I just want to thank you all for helping out this year. To those who have been here last year and the year before to the new recruits and becoming my slaves! Uh, I mean-"
"You got that right, Selphie!" A boy yelled out from the crowd and everyone started laughing, including the small brunette on stage.
"With all that said, now I have to say that we must finish this all tonight! To all those, who are working on the video feed and equipment, need to pick up the pace and make sure that you will be able to connect the main event showing to every television in this school. The decorations look awesome but I noticed by the main entrance that our welcome sign has yet to be put up. Someone needs to snap on that. People in charge of the game booths and such need to make sure that they will be ready to go! I want this to be the best and each year, it will only get better! Now as for what I'm going to be doing. I will help set up the stage and then I will be moving around inside the quad just incase anyone needs me. That will be all."
Selphie replaced the mic and sighed for a second before ordering everyone to start clearing the stage and setting up the props. For almost three hours the girl continuously worked and only rested when someone asked for her.
"Hey, Sel!" Selphie turned around and noticed Zell racing to her with several festival flyers left.
"Oh, Zell. How did you do with the flyers?" Selphie smiled.
"Great. I got 'em up all over. No one can miss a flyer without running into another when they turn around. The times and everything are on there." Zell grinned at his friend but noticed the exhaustion on the usually spunky girl.
"Thank you for helping, Zell. I just wish more people would join the committee. We're expanding each year but the help is so little."
"Sel, when was the last time you took a break? You were never lookin' like this a few weeks ago. Irvine usually made sure you don't over work yourself..." At the mention of her loving cowboy, she could not help but sigh.
"They made him go on a mission four days ago and it seems like it's never going to end." The brunette was suddenly pulled to a chair to sit down.
"Well you need to rest." Zell said firmly but it was like the girl wasn't even listening.
"He's not going to make it! He won't be here for the festival and I miss him so much!" Her slouching figure was a depressing sight. That cowboy had her missing him whenever he went to classes, which were only an hour! Four days was eating the poor girl alive.
"Aww, don't worry Selphie. He'll be here. Now, what were ya doing so I can take over for a while?" Selphie raised her head to see her friend and his wild energy. Just seeing him that energized made her want to give him a run for his money but she was just happy that she had such good friends.
Jeeze, she had been so busy that she had yet to visit Squall. Now she was being a bad friend. Well, on her next break, she'll say what's up and check on him.

Squall was mindlessly walking throughout the garden. He was trying to get all the facts straight but he himself just didn't know what to do. How would he be able to protect Seifer? How could he even tell Seifer that he loves him? That just sounded so...so...
"Squall?" He stopped and found himself outside of the training center. He turned to the voice of who was addressing him and frowned. "Um, I was looking for Seifer..."
Squall stared at the boy now and looked him over. He'd never seen this guy hang around Seifer before... Seifer doesn't really hang around a lot of people besides his circle of friends. The boy was slightly shorter than he was and had spiky, red hair with bright brown eyes.
"What about him?" Squall wondered, somewhat defensive against the student.
"I... My name is Todd and I was on the last mission with you and Seifer. He asked me to turn in his report before he went to see you in the infirmary." Todd shifted under the intense gaze of the brunet in front of him. He started taking off the green strap that was across his chest and brought around from his back a full bag. "I went to the training center yesterday and found this bag. It belongs to Seifer. I tried going to his room but no one answered so I just figured that you should have it since he's your friend."
Squall reached forward and took a hold of the green bag, feeling the weight of the various items inside which looked identical to the one up in his room. Then something clicked in his head.
"What time did you find this?" Squall asked suddenly.
"Um, uh I remember seeing you arrive at the training center, after I checked his room, when I went down to meet my friends. I wanna say it was about fifteen minutes before you showed up." Squall glanced around and frowned, suddenly seeing Rui walk towards the dormitories. The man looked healthy enough, unlike how he was being dragged yesterday to his room or the infirmary.
"Did you see anyone in the time you picked up the bag?" Squall questioned. The teen shook his head.
"You mean like Seifer? No, I didn't and when you brought him out like that, I wondered if I should have searched him in the center more thoroughly. I only glanced around but when I saw no sight of him, I left to his room." Todd was feeling a little awkward about what he was about to do but his friends came by and helped him.
Squall eyed the new comers as they took a spot next to the red-haired teen's side.
"Hi!" The girl said happily. "My name is Neone. I'm so happy to meet you." She tucked in a lock of dark purplish hair, almost looking black.
"Hey, sup? I'm Aki." The other boy said with mussed blond hair and blue eyes, standing taller than the two of his friends. Squall only nodded.
"Thanks for his bag." Squall said politely and was going to walk away when the girl stepped forward.
"Squall? Um, we were wondering if you would give this to Seifer." She turned around and snatched the card out of Todd's loose fingers and presented it to the gunblader.
Greyish-blue eyes narrowed down at the card and took it. The card was a get well soon card with all their signatures and a little message from them all saying that he was the greatest, no matter what and they look up to him and Squall. The brunet stared at them.
"Thanks Aki, Neone. Todd. This means a lot." A small smile wanted to break through to his lips. Neone brightened.
"Aww, I love you guys. I think you and Seifer are awesome fighters and I want to try to train to be a gunblader like you. If I become-"
"If we become..." Aki cut her off and grinned. Neone laughed and corrected herself.
"If we become good fighters, will you let us challenge you guys?" Squall nodded and she started jumping up and down. "Alright!" She quickly composed herself and stared at him. "Is Seifer doing okay?"
The sudden shift in the girl was similar to his hyper friend Selphie, who did that all the time.
"He's doing all right but I think that as long as there are people like you, who feel that Seifer is a good guy, that he will get better. Thanks for this." Todd and his friends smiled.
"We hope to see you at the Garden Festival. Hopefully, you can bring Seifer too. It should be fun! Well, we have to go but we'll definitely see you later! Bye!" Neone flashed a beautiful smile before she dragged her friends off in the direction of the cafeteria.
Squall's booted feet thumped against the ground as he began to walk towards the elevator when a hand clamped down on his shoulder, scaring him into jumping away from the surprised touch.
"Woah there! It's only me!" Squall looked at the familiar face.
"Irvine." The cowboy flashed his trademark smile but he couldn't tip his hat or anything since he was wearing his SeeD uniform.
"How's life treating the eighth wonder of the world?" He laughed out right, wrapping his arm around his friend and guiding him towards the quad. "I heard that from some of the ladies on my wonderful four day mission, in which they thought that a beautiful statue should be put up of you and be called such." Irvine pushed back some of his silky, auburn hair from his face.
"Life always felt that something should be happening." Squall realized that because the sniper was out four days, he couldn't possibly have known what had happened to him or Seifer. The shorter man sighed. Selphie probably knows from Zell and Irvine will get his information from her.
"So what has been happening since the great Kinneas has been away? Have you seen my dear little Selphie?"
Squall shook his head.
"I don't know. I haven't seen Selphie and I'm sure you would love to hear the story from her because you know you're in for the conversation of your life, since you missed four days." The shorter brunet felt a little lighter, happier with Irvine's light spirit but his thoughts were still on the broken man in his room. He turned his head, hearing Irvine laughing.
"Man, are you right or what but I would love to hear it from my lil' Sel."
Right then, the men turned into entrance of the quad and spotted Selphie on a very tall ladder, helping put up decorations. Zell was doing something with string but was getting hopelessly tangled while two committee girls where laughing and helping him out. Irvine smiled and notice that his girlfriend was clad in a bright and tight yellow t-shirt, that at the moment was showing off the creamy skin of her midsection as she was reaching above her head, and a blue jean skirt.
'What is she thinking to be up on a ladder where all the boys can stare up her skirt!?'
Irvine found himself walking so he could get a better look at those beautiful legs and noticed that the skirt had shorts beneath them. He felt a little saddened that he couldn't get a glimpse but he was relieved also that the boys didn't get a free show. The cowboy smiled and continued to watch Selphie. He loved the girl so much and he knew that he would never find someone who would spark up his life like she has. 'Not to mention, bring variety to the bedroom...' He tried not to snicker when he noticed that Selphie was trying to reach for something that was well out of her reach. Before he could say anything, she was losing her balance and falling away from the ladder. Her scream was heard and Irvine's heart stopped as he watched her fall from about fifteen feet in the air.
The cowboy's eyes widened as he raced to where she would land and right when he got there, no second later, he felt the wind get knocked out of him as a body slammed into his chest and his back hit the ground. Irvine moaned but opened his eyes and sat up quickly as the body on his shifted to get off of him.
His eyes worriedly roamed over her body, searching for any wounds. He hoped a prayed she was okay and finally expressed his worry.
"Selphie, are you okay?" He finally voiced and his hand brought her face to his own so he could see if she was all right. Her large, emerald eyes widened at the man who caught her and she almost started to cry when she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Irvine! Omigod, thank you!" He hugged her back and started to stand when many people started to ask about how she was.
"Sel! Shit! How are ya?" She was standing now as Zell questioned, eyes widened from the scene.
"Guys! I'm fine, I'm fine." She said, still a little shaken up.
"Damn it, Selphie!" Irvine snapped his head at Zell's yell.
"Dincht..." Irvine tried to warn but the blond continued.
"I told you to get out of here! You should be resting and you haven't! Irvine, this girl has been working her ass off and has not had a goodnight rest or even a small break from all this," Zell flayed his arms, indicating that he was talking about the festival and all the preparations. "Since you left!"
The cowboy was a little shocked at that and Selphie was looking like she was about to cry.
"Okay, everything is fine. Look, just continue what you all were doing and Sel is gonna have a little break." He turned to the small girl and lifted her up to take her to her room. She squeaked but didn't protest further when Irvine whispered something to her and she visibly relaxed and wrapped her arms around her loving cowboy.
Squall watched the couple leave and turned back to Zell, who was picking up the ladder. He helped him out but not much. Once the ladder was out of the way, Zell turned around and noticed that Squall had Seifer's green back wrapped around his torso.
"What's with Almasy's bag?"
"A SeeD member and his friends found another bag of Seifer's in the training center yesterday." Zell frowned.
"How's he doing?" Zell asked with genuine concern for the man.
"He's not doing so well." Squall sighed but the blond was still staring at him.
"How are you doing?" Squall winced, it was passed the time he was suppose to take his pills.
"I'm doing fine. Getting better. The thing is, I feel bad...I forgot about the festival and would have helped Selphie with the final preparations if..."
Zell nodded and placed a hand on Squall's shoulder.
"I understand, man but you are also going through a rough time. Just listen though." His face became very serious as his intense blue eyes never wavered from Squall's. "I saw Dagen speaking to one of those guys..uh, he's a big dude-"
"Brody?" Squall guessed, thinking about the group that hangs around the man.
"Yea! That's him, well they were talking about Seifer and I couldn't get in a good hearing distance but they said something about his room. With all that bullshit about him beating up Rui, I think they're planning on doing something to his dorm." Squall narrowed his eyes.
"That was all you heard?" Squall pressed.
"Yea, nothing else, man. I was pissed and walked by his room several times when I was putting up flyers but I didn't see anything. He is still in your room, right?" Zell questioned and the brunet nodded in confirmation. "Good, then you should keep him there."
"Thanks, Zell." The blond beamed.
"No problemo, man! Hey! Do ya want me to stop by tonight with some food? You look like you haven't eaten anything..." Squall sighed. He hasn't today but he has to feed Seifer and having company besides himself was questionable.
"Thanks but no thanks. I'm getting by fine with Seifer. I have to go. Bye Zell." The blond waved and said later as Squall walked out of the quad and began the journey to his room. It was getting late and he's also had not heard anything over the PA system about Seifer.
Should he say something about all this to Cid? He could help from Seifer not getting into trouble but he didn't know what Seifer wanted to do. He would probably get angry with him and then he could just forget about getting the man to open up to him. It would be like trying to pet an angry tiger. Squall stopped at the elevator and waited as it came down. After he spoke to Seifer, he'd make his choice on what to do and hopefully he can help him.

Dagen and Tetsu were strolling down the garden's hallway, watching the people walk by chattering happily. The older man's eyes held a glint of deviation as he spotted a room that reminded him of his plans.
"So is everything set?" Dagen's eyes never left Almasy's dorm room.
Tetsu was also staring at it and leaned up against the wall. He heard a paper crinkle against his weight.
"Yea, everything is coming together." He said as he curiously looked over his shoulder to see the Garden Festival flyer with the information about the time and where it was being held. "Should be no time before Rui has it all set up."
Dagen leered at the closed door, seeing the face of the repulsive blond and how he stood in the way of what he wanted.
'It will all soon come to a close.'
