Aeris heaved a sigh. One more day and all her dreams would come true!! Man but she sure was going to miss home. Sure Dr. Odine regarded her more like a lab rat than a adopted daughter at times but Elmayra was there and she had The Four, so it wasn't all bad! Besides Dr. Odine never hurt her, if anything he just asked a lot of questions, a lot of embarrassing questions, but nothing painful. She could still remember on her 15th birthday being sent to the lunar base with Elmayra…her and Dr. Odine had been talking in his lab when he said that he wanted her to go there. At first she was shocked, then spooked, but as is her way curiosity won out, and so it was that she had found herself at Balamb buying an I.D card so that she could get herself a passport. She had just entered the office and walked up to the tall lanky teen boy behind the counter when he pointed for her to take a seat at the left side of the room, she hadn't really thought much of it until she saw who was sitting there. Three of the most gorgeous people on GAIA!! They were all sitting around a table seemingly bored and tired, the one on the left was every guy's wet dream!!! She had long black hair flowing down her back, a very curvaceous body, wearing a form fitting black skirt and a white tank top, but it was her eyes that seemed to draw you in, they were the color of wine, set in a face of a seductress. Aeris shook her head slightly and turned to the one in the middle, she on the other hand was the picture of cuteness her chocolate colored hair was short and held back by a green ninja head band, she was of a petite build, she looked no more than 5', and she was slim, her khaki shorts and plain green shirt not to stylish but not plain either, the look in her light brown eyes was of pure mischief. Aeris still had not been noticed by the other girls so she took her time studying the last of the three, now she looked slightly more gothic than the other two, her long brown hair fell around her like a cape her dark obsidian eyes looked brooding, she like the other girl was slim and short, wearing a uniform from what seemed to be Galbadia Gardens usual loose dark blue skirt and dark blue T-shirt, but that was all she had in common with the other ones, she had an aura of sadness around her that spoke of wisdom beyond her years, she tried to study her more intently when the girl looked up. They stared at each other for a good five minutes neither breaking eye contact when the cute one waved her over, "Hey!! Here for an I.D?" Aeris nodded. "Me too! The names Yuffie. What's yours?" Aeris smiled at her politely,"Aeris." The other girl with the wine colored eyes also smiled "Tifa is the name." That left the last girl still nameless, she looked at Aeris curiously then gave a weak smile and patted at the empty seat next to her "Kathryn…why don't you sit with us, the geek behind the counter doesn't seem like he's going to hurry us along anytime soon…" Aeris giggled slightly "Can't blame him though! I mean you guyz are very attractive!" Yuffie snorted "Yeah and your not a looker…yeah right! Come over here gorgeous and take your rightful place with the flowers of Balamb!" Aeris was shocked, to say the least! She had not really ever thought of herself as beautiful before! "Look what you've done now Yuffie! You freaked her out!" Tifa chided, "trust us when we say we like BOYZ!! But you are pretty, with green eyes as bright as those and hair the color of honey, not to mention a body that screams PROTECT ME I'M PRETTY AND HELPLESS AND VULNERABLE!!! And you have good taste in clothes obviously (nice spaghetti strap pink dress with killer sandals!)…so come sit down and stop gawking!" Aeris eventually got over her shyness and joined them. That day they each got to really know each other well and were soon tight friends, and it didn't surprise them that the dork behind the counter kept them waiting all day long so he could gawk at them. She really got to know the girls that way so who was she to complain. Tifa was beautiful and a terrible flirt, but she had a stubborn streak a mile wide and a million miles long so she wasn't a pushover or an easy target for any hentai dorks. She was there, she had said, to get an I.D so that she could start preparing herself to join Balamb garden for when she was through with Edeas SeeD training. Yuffie, though she had an innocent appearance was a great at playing any practical joke known to man, and she had an obsession with soap operas, mainly Final Fantasy Unforgiven- A Turks Story. She admitted that she too needed an I.D to eventually join Balamb Gardens famous elite just like her idol Selphie Tilmitt did that year! Kathryn (or Kat) was different she had a dark side to her that you could feel all around her but it wasn't bad…just sad…she seemed to be a hopeless romantic and a lover of music and romance novels. She said that she was already a student at Galbadia but that she was transferring to Balamb this year to further her education on battle tactics, and in order to transfer she needed an I.D. and her other one had expired. When the time had come to leave they had promised each other to keep in touch and had exchanged E-mail addresses. A year had passed since that fateful day and they were all going to be together again. Aeris smiled at her reflection on the computer screen she had said her goodbyes to the professor and Elmayra already all that was left was to say goodbye to her home. With that in mind Aeris typed in a few words on her computer and brought up a picture of the space lab on it…Good bye…she would never admit it, but she had felt more at home there than she ever felt here at the lab…she would miss it dearly and pray for those who were lost during the Lunar Cry….

Tifa wasn't one to complain when chores had to be done but it was one thing to have to do them when they were hers and another thing entirely when they weren't! Xellia thought she could get away with this but not while Tifa lived and breathed!!! Earlier that day she had confronted Tifa on the grounds that SHE was trying to steal HER boyfriend!! Of course Tifa denied this utterly on the terms that she was not even attracted to a runt like him, it was HE that was attracted to HER!! That had been a deadly mistake…Xellia had always been jealous of her looks, Xellia was thin and had beautiful thick red hair and very nice eyes but her nose was HUGE and it didn't help that she was very stuck up and usually had it in the air, but the fact that even her own boyfriend (dork that he was) liked her more! After that things went down hill…Xellia had flown in to a fury!! She was a good fighter…but good wasn't enough if you wanted to take on Tifa Lockeheart!! She was a middle class fighter her weapon, a short range crossbow (naturally she tried to copy Rinoa after the defeat of Ultemecia, but the idiot should have stuck to her original weapon ESPECIALLY since she trained so hard with it!! You wouldn't catch TIFA DEAD trying to copy anyone else!! She was determined to make her own mark in the world!!!) Tifa had got into a defensive position, because naturally she was not going to hurt her that bad! Xellia went into a flurry of upper body attacks aiming right for Tifa's face, but she was letting her rage blind her, Tifa dodged the arrows stooping low and raced toward Xellia bringing her fist up and delivering a nasty uppercut blow sending Xellia flying through the air and crashing right into the food table (thank gawd!! missed the computer!) sending spaghetti and meatballs fly all over the room (and on her!)! Xellia looked dazed, and confused lying in a heap of food and table debris but damn when she realized what had happened (30 minutes later 0_0;) she screamed like a freaking BANSHEE!! And just like always Ellones evil counter part Kelly (Barbie look alike alert!! @_@) came rushing in to see what all the ruckus was about. "TIFA!! What have you done!?!" Xellia seeing who it was took full advantage, milking it for all it's worth, "OOOOOOoooooooo…my head! She started a fight with me ma'am! I don't even know WHY!! Please don't let her near-ACK!" Tifa had lunged at the lying snake intent on MURDER!! "I'll teach-UMPH!!" (STUPID BARBIE WANNA BE!!) Kelly tackled Tifa from behind calling out for additional help. "You are in big trouble young lady! And as for you Xellia, report to the medic…she should have a look at your nose dear…it's bad…0_0;…very bad." With that Kelly hauled Tifa to her feet and dragged her to Matrons office. Matron was always kind to her and Tifa really loved her a lot, if anything she was glad she was going to see her. " *sigh* Come in ladies…" she was leaning on her desk her eyes dark and tired little black smudges beneath each. "Matron this rat has-" Matron stiffened "That is ENOUGH!! Leave Tifa here and report back to your duties!! And may I remind you that when I leave `Miss' Kelly that if you insult any of the other children again you will be left behind next time! DO I make myself clear!" Kelly cowered before Matrons rage, shaking like a coward (take that evil Barbie wanna be!) "Yes Matron!" She ran from the room and back to her post. "Now what happened Tifa?" Tifa sighed, she looked so tired, so fragile sitting there, "Nothing Mama-Edea…I got in to a fight with Xellia and messed up my room…I'll clean it up…there is no need for you to trouble yourself with any thing." Tifa stared at her for a while willing herself to keep a straight face, hiding the lie she had made. "Tifa you know you can't lie to me, sweetie. I can read the truth in your eyes…but since today is your last day here we will try and make it joyful so as soon as your done cleaning I want you to take the day off, no study courses for you…K." Tifa brushed a strand of her dark black hair behind her ear her reddish brown eyes pensive…"K!" when she turned to go matron called to her "Tifa…Xellia isn't trying to be hateful on purpose, sweetie, it's just…" Tifa sighed again, "I know…" As she left the corridor she began her way back to her room…and that was pretty much how she ended up cleaning her room. She peeped outside and saw they were already reaching Matrons orphanage, a myriad of thoughts echoing through her head as she grabbed her satchel…she had been happy here…and she was going to miss this place terribly…even Kelly…even Xellia…Goodbye…she thought silently, and with that she left her room.

Yuffie scrambled out of the hallway running at full speed as she tried to get away from Jessica and her evil make up professional. "GET BACK HERE YUFFIE!!!" Jessica had said it was a going away gift but Yuffie felt like it was a personal insult, she HATED wearing make up! She only wore it on special occasions and even then it was only a little. "LEAVE ME ALONE JESS!" Yuffie stumbled her arms flailing about as she tried to regain her balance but alas it was not meant to be…"AHA!!! Got you!!" Jessica gloated as she pinned Yuffie to the ground (not that Yuffie couldn't knock her down if she really wanted too.) Yuffie sighed defeated at last, "Fine but if I don't like it you have to promise to call off your goon." Jessica grinned, " `course!" Yuffie grimaced, but inside she laughed, her and Jessica had been friends since forever, and damn if she wasn't going to miss her a lot! Jessica dragged the ever reluctant Yuffie towards there tent and began talking to the girl who sat at the other end (Star was her name and make up was her game *shudder*) Trabia was in drastic need of repair and Esthar with all its great mechanics was still going to take awhile so most of the students still didn't have a dorm and were forced to sleep in tents, not that Yuffie was complaining cause they were Estharian tents, which meant hell they were like a dorm only outside. Jessica and Star circled Yuffie assessing and discussing her body and face, Yuffie frowned, she felt like a Chocobo for sale with all the talking about her assets and her minuses. " Alright I think we got a battle plan!! Now lets get you ready before your t-train gets here *sniffle* a-a-and y-you have ta go…*sob*" Instantly Yuffies frown vanished as she heard Jessica crying, "Don't cry Jess! It's alright!! I'll write!! I promise!!" She hugged Jessica to her fiercely, patting Jessica's array of bright blonde curls, trying to bring some cheer back to her small blue eyes. Jessica sniffled one last time and smiled at her, straightening her green skirt and matching BRAT t-shirt, "Sorry…but I am really gonna miss you `fie…ohhh chucks lets get this make over done with so that you can really wow them at Balamb!" Yuffie smiled and nodded sheepishly looking down at her usual khaki shorts and sleeveless forest green shirt, " I suppose so…" Star and Jessica worked feverishly highlighting her eyes with black eyeliner, thickening her lashes with mascara, adding shine to her lips with bubble gum flavored lip gloss, and fixing her hair to curl lovingly against her face. "WOW!! Now all we need is a change of clothes and we're all set!" Jessica seemed to bounce around the room as she grabbed one outfit after another. After what seemed to Yuffie like ages she finally chose a forest green tube top and a long black skirt with matching black high heels (O_O high heels! The painful price of being fashionable!) Yuffie was man handled into the fashionable skirt and top, "Owwww!!!!!! Stop it your pulling my leg off!!" Yuffie shrieked complained and just about made it ten times more harder for herself in the process, but the results were stunning!!! She looked totally beautiful! Her hair was waved around her face and her make up seemed to make her eye s seem larger more innocent, and the clothes molded her young lithe body, emphasizing every curve lovingly. "Wow…" was as much as they got from both Star and anyone else who saw the usually tomboyish Yuffie. "Well it's about that time `fie…" Jessica all but whispered. "Yeah…" The friends looked at each other neither saying a word then slowly Yuffie turned and started leaving. As she reached the gates to the Garden she turned back to look at her childhood home and smiled, Jessica still stood there rooted to her spot infront of their tent. Goodbye my friend and home…she then pivoted on her heels and left.

Why me?

Kat slashed at the air with her long sharp daggers, easily moving from one position to the next.

Why is it always me?!?

She brought her daggers up and around her invisible enemy stabbing him in the back with a swift plunge of the wicked blades.

Sephiroth…professor…

Tears streaked down her face as she worked from form to form, never missing a beat.

Am I really so worthless…

Faster and faster she went sweat and tears mingling together, her dark brown hair whirling about her sticking to her sweat soaked uniform.

HATE!! I HATE YOU!!

Her obsidian eyes flashed silver as she moved like a demon maddened with blood lust. She began to stalk her prey.

You shamed me…

She saw it there in the distance a group of Grats.

Hurt me…

She screamed her rage as she charged not one, not two, but five Grats screaming for their blood.

BETRAYED ME!!!!

Blood flowed as she slashed at the group of grats with a vengeance. Her face and body soaked with the sticky fluid. "DIE!! DIE!! DIE!!" She attacked again and again even when they lied dead and unmoving, hacking and slashing, wanting the pain to end!

GET OUT OF MY HEAD!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!

"Kathryn!?! STOP!! What are you DOING!?! They're dead please stop!?!?!STOP!!" Professor Trepes voice slowly penetrated Kat's mind and slowly she turned, her body slow and sluggish. "Proffessor?" Her mind was slowly trying to comprehend what she saw…another woman…

another woman…anotheranotheranotheranotheranotherANOTHERWOMAN!!!!

Kat smiled sadly at her teacher, "Sorry, I…" She trailed off an uncomfortable silence between them, the slow drip of blood echoing loudly as it drizzled down her nose. "Come on Kat…you should get some rest and Dr. Kadawoki has made an excellent brew of her usual…" what she didn't say was Dr. Kadawoki would slip in the usual sedative in her drink and Kat was to kind hearted to point out that she really didn't want too. "Sure…let me just get cleaned up…" Quistis nodded and smiled reassuringly at her then left.

Bad Kat, bad! BadkatbadkatbadkatBADKAT!!!

Kat shook back her hair and grabbed her bag from near by and made her way to her dorm. It was late so no one was there to see her thank gawd! They'd probably freak and start talking about her again with those stupid rumors that had seem to be forgotten since after the Sorceress Ultemecia was destroyed. She rounded the corner of the Dorm hall then went straight to her room passing a wary garden faculty member in the process, well so much for getting here unnoticed. Kat quickly swiped her ID card and waited while they confirmed her name and swooshed the door open. She stepped inside tossed her belongings to the ground and stripped her clothe s from her body. The blood had dried and it was itchy and uncomfortable, so she pretty much attacked her own body with a sponge and soap.

Lavender…you said I smelled like lavender…

She rinsed and continued to wash her hair, repeatedly.

Silk…my hair was silky you said…

She closed her eye and slid to the floor of the shower breathing in heavily. He was coming here, to this school…"DAMN HIM!!!" She tried calming herself and succeeded only a little, but it was enough.

Sephiroth…Seph…

It had been earlier that day that the news of a new teacher had arrived. She had just logged off from the chat room and was checking the Gardens Message Board when the news flashed across the screen, The famous Battle professor Sephiroth was going to teach here at Balamb garden this year. Kat shot up to her feet grimacing at her own stupidity.

So what!!?!? Just goes to show me NOT to fall in love with your teacher ESPECIALLY if he's a cold hearted prick!!

She walked out of the shower determined not to cry any more!! She grabbed a new uniform and picked up her daggers and headed back to the training center. It seemed like she wasn't going to get any sleep tonight and the heat of battle was always so calming to her...poor T-Rexars were going to have nightmares of this day for YEARS to come!! "Get ready Sephy Baby, the Kat is no longer a Kitten she's a man slaying DEMON BITCH that's gonna tear your HEART OUT!!! YEAH!!" She ran down the corridors and sent a silent goodbye to the young girl who she had left behind…Goodbye little Kat….
