Time Jump, Friday Night:
Squall had been too busy to sneak away from practice and such to see Zell again at all. Now it was the night of the concert and Squall was sitting in the back stage set, waiting for the other bands to finish up their performances.
It was nearing midnight, the Tonberries were almost finished with the last song of theirs: Tragedy Boy. Then Blood Kiss would be up to finish for the night.
Squall sighed, shifting in his seat. He reached into his back pocket and removed his cigarette case, taking a cigarette, lighting it, and smoking.
"Almost up," Dami mumbled, hearing the ending verse of Tragedy Boy.
Seifer nodded, standing. "Time to rock..." he mumbled, letting his trench coat fall into the chair he'd stood from.
Screams and hollers rang loudly from the front stage center, the audience yelling their approval of the Tonberries' performance.
Squall took a final drag from his smoke before snuffing it out in the ash tray and standing up.
~*~
Flare walked into the stage in black leather pants with black-red flames licking at the bottom, a blood-red tight shirt, and black boots with similar black-red flames. He walked past the still down curtain out to the center stage piece that divided the audience for a good 20 feet out from the main stage. Screams and wolf-calls came from the audience, signaling their excitement.
Flare held up the microphone to his mouth. "Hey," he said in a sexy voice.
More screams.
"What the fuck's up?" Flare asked, smirking.
Still the ever chant of excitement from the crowd poured on.
"What'd ya think of the other bands? ... Yeah, fuckin' awesome," Flare spoke. "Its been one hell of a concert. But now, eh ... we're up."
Exciting screams continued on.
"I've a couple requests to make before, ah, we get started up 'ere," Flare continued.
"Anything!" a girl's voice screamed a couple feet from where Flare stood.
Flare turned to flash a sexy smile at her.
Screams of agreement came.
Flare nodded. "I want ya to get drunk, get high, and get blown!"
Wild screams of laughter and enthusiasm poured forward.
Flare smirked. "This is a Blood Kiss concert! Not Sidestreet Boys. Tonight get wild and get fucked up."
Hollers of agreement and wild sexual taunts to Flare filled the room.
Flare shifted his weight, smirking. "Make this a night I'll remember."
More sexual taunts and screams yelled up at Flare.
"Also," Flare said, holding his hand up. "Tonight is a young, hot brunette's birthday... Did you all know that?"
Quieter yells filled the room.
Flare nodded. "Griever turned 19 as midnight passed."
More yells.
"So, be good to him tonight," Flare said. "But don't wear 'im out too much." Flare smirked, then mused on in a sexy, low growl voice: "I've still gotta give him my present after the concert."
Screams showing excitement rang loudly. More wolf-calls shot up at Flare.
Griever pushed past the heavy curtain, walking out to meet Flare. He had dark blue leather pants on, a oddly bright (but not stupidly bright) blue shimmering shirt that's sleeves were rolled up to his elbows and unbuttoned at the collar, and matching bright blue shimmering boots and belt. Along with blue chains that replaced his normal silver ones. Dark blue leather gloves covered his hands. He had a head-set microphone on.
Flare turned back to watch Griever walk up to him.
Griever stopped walking once he stood in front of Flare, facing him.
"Griever?" Flare asked.
"You finished?" Griever replied, his voice strong but still smooth. "Or do you insist on keeping that mouth of yours open?"
Flare smirked.
The audience laughed yells.
Griever stepped closer to Flare, their eyes locked. Flare leaned to Griever, putting his hand on Griever's cheek, flicking his tongue over Griever's lips before pulling away and walking back to the hidden portion of the stage.
The audience made a few wolf-calls.
Griever turned to face the audience. Then the whole room went into a pitch black.
Everything fell to a dead silence.
The high pitched notes of a guitar started up, filling the air. And another guitar being played at the same time, strumming in short blurts. The drum and bass started up, adding the music. Then the first two guitar sounds became louder and faster and heavier.
The curtains flung open, the stage center lighting up. Dami, the drummer, was positioned a good 10 feet above the rest of the group, on a cylinder stand. Flare was to the audiences right, near the edge of the main stage. Thoran and Hazen were positioned on the audience's left side, Hazen further forward and left then Thoran, who was closer to Dami's stand. Griever still stood on the center audience-dividing stage portion.
The music burst into a heavy onslaught of hard rock.
All the band members were jumping around, dancing to their music, adding energy to the already wild audience.
Then the music started in a softer beat as Griever's voice added in. He watched the people around him, singing to them, meeting their eyes, smiling. He held a hand up, moving it with the sound of the music.
"Will you walk me to the edge again? Shaking lonely. And I am drinking again. Woke up tonight, and no one's here with me."
The music started up, going a little faster.
"I'm giving in! To you tonight!"
Harder and faster. The band jumping around. Griever looking around, dancing, singing to the audience members, flashing smiles at the girls, leaning over to let the audience touch his hand. He was acting the exact opposite of his normal personality.
"Take me under. I'm giving in to you! I'm dying tonight."
Griever continued his jumping dancing, the music continuing its hard flow, his voice pouring loudly.
"Watch me crumble. I'm giving in to you. I'm crying tonight. I'm giving in to you!"
Then the music continued a few seconds with the hard sound before fading into the softer beat again. Griever turned his attention back to dancing slower, but still rocking his body with the beat.
"Caught up in life. Losing all my friends. Family has tried to heal all my addictions. Tragic it seems to be alone again."
"I'm giving in - to you tonight!"
The music crawled up fast, back into his loud beat. The band continued to dance around, jumping, moving their bodies, forcing more excitement and energy into the room.
"Take me under. I'm giving in to you. I'm dying tonight. I'm giving in to you!"
Griever flung himself into the audience, them catching him, moving him over the crowd Security guards rushed forward to get Griever before the audience tore off all his clothes.
"Watch me crumble. I'm giving in to you. I'm crying tonight. I'm giving into you!"
Flare's solo guitar part came up, he played a few seconds without vocal back up. The Security guards managing to get a hold of Griever and ripping him from the audience.
Griever was flung back into the stage just in time to start his half sung, half spoke portion of the song lyrics. Griever turned to look back at the audience.
"I look forward to dying tonight. Drink 'til I'm myself. Life's harder everyday. The stress had got me. I'm giving - I'm giving - I'm giving..."
The music thrust back up hard. Griever ran/danced back to meet up with the rest of his band on the main portion of the stage. "Noooooooo!"
The band jumped around, energy rising high fast. Everyone jumping around the stage. (Minus the obvious sitting drummer)
"Take me under!"
"I'm killing the pain!" Flare's voice backed up Griever's lyrics.
"I'm dying tonight!"
"I'm killing the pain!" Flare sang again.
"Watch me crumble."
"I'm killing the pain!"
"I'm crying tonight! I'm giving to you! Take me under. I'm giving in to you. I'm dying tonight. I'm giving in to you. Watch me crumble. I'm giving in to you. I'm crying tonight. I'm giving in to you! Take me under. I'm giving in to you. I'm dying tonight. I'm giving into you!!!"
The guitars rang solo, the sounds slow fading. Flare's light plucks at the strings that started the whole song chiming in two seconds then everything fell dead.
Then next song started up.
~*~
Zell and his friends walked past security, flashing their back-stage passes, heading forward down the halls.
"Oh fuck!" Kyle mumbled, looking around with his eyes wide. "We've gotta to meet Shiva's Influence.!"
"Look look!" Xenith cried out, pointing to Nonna - bass player of Shiva's Influence - walking into a room, talking with Janice - the one of the two lead singers of Poison.
"Man!" Kyle said excitedly.
"Go ahead you two," Selphie said, smiling. "Well meet up later in Blood Kiss's room."
Kyle and Xenith grinned at the other three then hurried off to follow the two women into the room.
The hallway was crowded, full of fans, groupies, security guards, and a few reporters.
"Shit, shit!" Mathew said, pointing to Berne - lead singer and guitarist of Tonberries. "I've got to meet him!"
"Ooohh!" Selphie exclaimed, also interested. "Tonberries rock! Lets go say 'hi' to them!" Selphie looked at Zell.
Zell half smiled. "I really wanna go see Squall... but you two go ahead!"
Mathew smirked. "Can you handle it by yourself back here?"
Zell nodded. "No worries!"
Selphie took Mathew's arm. "We'll be right there!" Then she dragged the brunette boy away.
Zell walked down the hallway further, glancing around for signs of Blood Kiss.
A shrike of excitement signaled Zell to where he wanted to be. "Flare!" a girl's voice called.
Zell walked towards the voice then glanced into one of the rooms. Full of people, smoky, sweaty. But Zell then saw Flare - Seifer - heading into the crowd holding a brunette guy's hand. Zell didn't recognize the guy, but shrugged it off. After all, Griever and Flare weren't an item.
Zell pushed into the crowd, looking around.
"Hey baby," a woman's voice said.
Zell turned to look at her, recognizing her as Merice of Shiva's Influence, drummer.
"What is an adorable looking boy such as yourself doing all alone?" Merice said, purring the words.
Zell tried to smile, wondering exactly what sort of sexual pressers he was going to be put through this time. "Lookin' for Griever."
Merice stepped closer to him, crossing her arms, smirking. "He's in the back room." She nodded to the back wall. Zell couldn't see over the crowd (he's only 5'3" after all), but he took her word for it there was another room. "But its a private Blood Kiss area. Security won't let you in."
Zell sneered. Fucking security. "Eh, its 'kay." Zell said, pulling the lion pendent from under his jacket collar.
Merice stopped smiling, looking at the pendent. "Where'd ya get that?!"
Zell smiled. "Griever gave it to me."
Merice smirked. "Oouu. Heh, leave it to Grieve to steal the cute ones..."
Blushing, Zell started forwards towards the back wall.
Merice took Zell's hand, pulling in in the direction of the back room. "I'll help you get in. Security is dense around here..." She smiled at him.
Zell wondered briefly if Blood Kiss would even be behind the doors, or if the Star had other plans. His last experience around groupies had robbed him of his trust. But he figured he was sober and very capable to getting away if necessary. Besides, she seemed nice enough.
Breaking out of the thick of the crowd, Merice lead Zell to where a large man stood security next to a closed door.
"Wylard," Merice said to the guard.
He nodded, opening the door for her.
Merice walked into the room, pulling Zell with her.
And there was Blood Kiss. Flare - Seifer - with the brunette guy sitting next to him. Hazen drooling over Kayli, who was sitting in a chair next to his couch seat. Thoran was standing near Dami, who sat next to Griever - Squall.
"Merice!" Seifer said, smiling. "Who's that?"
Squall sat up, seeing Zell.
"This is Griever's," Merice said, smirking.
"His birthday present?!" Dami asked, frowning.
Merice laughed along with a few chuckles from the others in the room.
"That's Zell," Squall said softly, smiling his small smile.
Seifer sat forward, frowning at Zell. "Wait! I know the kid, don't I?"
Merice let go of Zell's hand, smiling.
Zell felt his cheeks blush, all eyes in the room were on him.
"Where are your friends, Zell?" Squall asked in his same quiet voice.
"They went to meet the other bands," Zell said, wondering if he should walk to Squall or just stand where he was.
"Chicobo!" Seifer exclaimed, smirking. "I remember! Two week ago, Squall had you in his room."
"Oh yeah! Griever's little trick," Hazen chuckled.
Zell felt his cheeks deepen to a darker red.
Blood Kiss (minus Squall) laughed, the two girls chuckling softly, Kent just watching the blonde tattooed boy.
Squall pushed off of the couch, shaking his head. He crossed the room, taking Zell's hand. He turned to glare at the others.
"Was he that good?!" Thoran asked, smirking.
Squall looked at him with his normal calm. "Yes."
Again, the room filled with laughter.
Squall sighed, looking to Zell. Zell smiled at him.
Turning without bothering to say anything, Squall pulled Zell out of the room, leaving Blood Kiss and the others to their own X-rated thoughts.
"Zell," Squall said to him once they were in the hallway.
"Squall!" Zell smiled brightly, but let the smile faded suddenly. "You wanted me to come, right?"
The twitch that seemed to be constantly pulling on the side of Squall's mouth around the young blonde started to act up again. "Of course," he answered softly.
Squall looked around the hallway, most people were too involved in their own little worlds to notice Griever was standing there holding a young blonde's hand. Squall meet Zell's beautiful sparking sapphire eyes again.
"Would you like to get out of here?" Squall asked.
Zell half smiled. "Where would we go?"
Squall thought for a moment. Back to my hotel for a night of passionate sex, of course... But I don't know if you'd be interested in that. So... Squall shrugged. "Somewhere else."
Zell nodded. "Sure."
~*~
10 minutes later:
Zell slide into the limo followed by Squall. Fans outside were chanting "Blood Kiss" and "Griever" - making Squall wonder if it was the smartest thing to leave with Zell. Last thing he needed was Zell's picture flashing in the papers, headline's reading Star Chooses New Blonde - Going for Younger Model.
But Squall shrugged it off. He didn't want to think about that right now. He was with Zell, which took the entire of his attention.
"Where to, Sir?" Paul called from the front seat.
Zell looked at Squall, wondering that himself.
Squall sighed. He hadn't a clue. Just somewhere else. As long as it was with Zell.
Squall meet Zell's bright gaze. He smiled slightly, giving in to the twitch. Honestly, Zell, I don't believe you're straight. With the way your friends were acting, the way you blush around me, the fact that you are comfortable around me yet excited. Am I interpreting this wrong? I don't think so...
"Give me a moment, Paul," Squall said softly, pressing the button that raises the darkened glass between the driver and back cab area.
As soon as it was all the way up, Squall breathed slowly, turning his body to Zell. "You aren't as straight as you said you were, are you, Zell?"
Zell blushed, smiling an embarrassed smirk. He shook his head.
"How not-straight are you?" Squall asked softly.
Zell bit into his lower lip. He wrinkled his nose, smirking. "I'm gay," he said softly.
Squall gave into the twitch again, smiling his small smile.
"I was just nervous before, to tell you that," Zell said, clasping his hands together on his lap.
Squall nodded, still smiling. "Would you like to sneak away with me.. for the night?" he spoke in his normal soft tone. "We don't have to have sex! I just want to spend time with you... alone."
Zell couldn't help a giggle. "Yeah!"
"To Dollet? I have a small loft there..." Squall asked.
Without thinking it over at all, Zell bounced in his seat, grinning. "'Course!"
Squall smiled.
Zell stopped smiling. "Eh! My friends... there back -" Zell motioned to the stage center the limo was driving away from.
Squall let his normal icy mask fall back. "You would like to go back?"
Zell shook his head quickly. He smiled. "I'm not saying I don't wanna go to Dollet wit ya! I'm jus saying, I have ta tell them I'm gonna be gone. Otherwise they'd worry - then they'd tell Ma I was missing... Ma!" Zell thought over that obstacle.
Squall leaned back in his seat, his shoulder's slumping. Nope. Wasn't going to happen. No way he'd be able to take Zell away for the night. Well, it was 3:30 in the morning. So, more like sneak away for the day. His birthday.
"You have a phone?" Zell asked, turning his attention back to Squall.
Squall sat up, looking at Zell a moment before reaching forward and picking the phone up, handing it to the blonde.
Zell pressed a few buttons, calling his house. The phone rang 4 times before the answering machine picked up. "Ma, hey. This is Zell. I'm gonna spend the day, today, with Blood Kiss. See you tonight." Zell clicked the phone off, handing it back to Squall.
Squall looked at Zell, his eyes wide, then he quickly blinked away he expression. "Won't your mother be mad?"
Zell shrugged. "I said day and Blood Kiss. Not, the rest of tonight with Squall at his loft in Dollet." Zell smirked an evil grin.
Squall smiled again. He locked his eyes with the spheres of sapphire, his cloudy eyes accidentally letting out his lust. Squall suddenly realized he was staring at Zell, who was smiling coyly.
Squall blinked, turning from the blonde's gaze. He coughed then licked his lips, unable to look back at Zell.
Zell giggled.
Squall looked back at him. "What?"
"You're just really cute," Zell said, smiling with his nose wrinkled.
Squall felt his cheeks grow hot.
"You're blushing again," Zell giggled.
Squall turned away from Zell. Quickly. Think of something to say. You look like a total moron, Squall! "Your friends," Squall said softly. "You want -" he turned to look at Zell -"to leave them a message?"
Zell nodded, half smiling. "Yeah, probably should."
Squall reached over and picked up the phone again. He dialed the number to the private room where he knew Blood Kiss was probably still hanging out at.
Three rings later Dami picked up the phone. "Yo?!"
"Dami, let me talk to Seifer," Squall said.
"Griever!" Dami exclaimed. "Whats up? Kid turned ya down? Need another sexual partner?"
Squall wished Dami could see the look in his eyes. "Give the phone to Seifer."
Dami chuckled. "Seifer!" the mumbled yell of Dami feed into the receiver.
A moment and a few mumbles later Seifer spoke into the phone. "Squall?"
"If some kids come around asking for Zell, tell them he's going to be with me until later tonight."
"Woow! Cub, baby! Where are ya going with the little tyke?" Seifer asked. Squall knew he was smirking the trademark grin.
"Dollet," Squall answer. He had no reason to lie.
Seifer laughed into the phone. "Alright. I'll tell the kid's friends. Say hi to Chicobo for me!"
"I'll see you later," said Squall.
"Oh! I won't tell Jep where you went," Seifer said. "But he'll be pissed when you get back."
Squall groaned quietly. "To bad for Jep. Later, Fire."
"Buh bye, lover," Seifer said coyly.
Squall clicked the phone down. He turned to Zell. "We're free now."
Zell smiled brightly.
Squall turned and pressed his hand to the window button, allowing him to talk to Paul.
"Sir?" Paul asked.
"Head to the train station," Squall said softly.
