Final Fantasy - All Series Fan Fiction ❯ Starla's Dance ❯ Chapter 18
"Now remember, you may heal faster then normal humans, but you still have to take it easy." Starla scolded to the bathroom door.
A few days ago they were released from the hospital. Had they released Starla before Sephiroth it would have been a mistake; obviously. Days she hovered at his side vigilant with concern and unease. Time and time again she tried to get him to talk. Every time he turned with an excuse. His vibrant green eyes darkened, and seemed to haze over into emotionless deeps.
Sighing Starla sat sliding to the edge of the bed. Her feet patted lightly on the carpeted floor as she made her way to the bathroom. Slowly she opened the door. Thankful she never believed in locks on bathroom doors. Sephiroth stood bent over the sink. Sephiroth didn't look at her, but Starla's own reflection stared sternly back at her.
"Sephiroth, whenever you are ready to talk I'm right here." Starla's face softened. "I won't push you anymore."
Starla reached out with her good arm to touch his shoulder. Hesitating Starla stopped before she touched his pale skin. For a moment she stared at the stitched wound on his side almost hidden by his hair. It was risen red with irritation, dark were it had scabbed. Drawing her hand back, it was best to leave him.
Glancing up from the sink, Sephiroth watched her go. Guilt filled him as he stared at her heavily bandaged arm, and temporarily useless arm. All she ever tried was to be there for him, to support him, when she herself needed someone. He watched as the door closed before sighing. Well practiced his bandaged his side. Sephiroth's shoulder sagged, no mattered how much he could try, he'd eventually have to tell her.
Carefully Sephiroth rolled unto the bed. Draping his arm over Starla's stomach. He buried his face in her hair, nuzzling her neck. Her sent, as he breathed it in, comforted him. Closing his eyes, he nearly drifted off to sleep while he gathered his courage.
Finally his courage came.
"What's bugging me, is-Cloud raped me."
No response from Starla caused Sephiroth to tense. In her mind dark thoughts, and dark emotions roiled. The strong urge for violence filled her senses. Violence aimed at Cloud for what he had done. Not only to her, but to him. Starla loved him with all her heart, mind and soul, to have this done was unbearable. Having the need to clear her head she shifted out of bed.
Sephiroth remained still as he felt her leave. His hand dropping listlessly to the bed. Nothing there to support it anymore. Time passed as he lay there thinking. Wondering if she had left him. Sleep came to him after a time, and even then his body did not move.
Something bounced on the bed jarring Sephiroth from his sleep. He felt something wet and ruff run across his cheek Groggy from sleep he looked at someone over him. Blinking a few times he realized it was Starla. Still to sleepy he didn't bother to move his body. Giggling she leaned over and licked his cheek again, then held out a cup.
"I borrowed us a cup of sugar!" She said cheerfully.
Growling Sephiroth wiped the spit from his cheek. "Why?"
"I donno, just needed to go for a walk, an' I decided we need some sugar."
Watching her shrug, Sephiroth felt a little annoyance that slivered away with the fact of that's how she was. Shaking his head he stretched carefully and rolled unto his back. A smile spread across his face as he stared up at her. Confused, and looking as innocent as she could she looked around the room.
"Well, then maybe I can make some cookies! Yeah, that's it."
"Then you'll have to burrow some flour, eggs, vinilla ex-"
"OKAY, I get the point."
A chuckled rolled from Sephiroth, he felt much lighter in mood since letting it out. Starla's innocent turned into a cold glare aimed directly at Sephiroth. Sephiroth chuckled a little more before reaching out for her. She promptly batted his hand away.
"Why are you laughing at me?" Starla demanded.
"Just reminding myself this is why I love you."
"Hee hee," Starla beamed. "I know you love me."
And before he could react, Starla licked Sephiroth's face again. Hurrying into the make shift kitchen she placed the sugar on the counter. Listening to Sephiroth sound his displeasure at being licked. Starla giggled, and waggled a finger at him.
"That's what you get for laughing at me."
"But now I'm all randy."
"Deal."
"I'll be gentle."
"... Hee hee."
Starla moved swiftly back into the bed room. (AN: Need I say more.)
